Another event, another screw up by Anet, not surprising.
This event would have been better if it was 2 weeks long.
Anet really has no idea on how to properly reward players for time spent in the game.

I want the scarlet and toxic skin sets, but the time required in the limited time is just ridiculous, the queen’s pavilion was better than this, couldn’t even use that as a template?

The first wall west of the Tower(the one that grants access to the area behind not into the tower), not able to repair it after it’s been closed up, no Repair [F] button pops up anywhere along the base or on top. I suspect the area for repair is inside the wall and needs to be moved or widened.

EDIT: Checked the second wall when it went down same thing happen, had to go into the middle of the wall to repair and after it was up didn’t get the repair dialog.

The ppt’ers in T3 should transfer down to T4/5 and leave the gvg guilds to themselves in T3, just like the gvg guilds moved to T3 when the ppt’ers from T1 came to YB. Then watch them panic when one of the T3’s are at risk to drop in tiers.

P.S all gvg guilds shoulda moved to T8, you don’t have ppt and ppt players to worry about and can fight each other all day.

Felt like the map was empty tonight, did people forget the beta is on?
Did the first beta wave people not know that they were open to join even if they didn’t get a second email about it?
Or did people give up on the map already?

Roamed with a havok sized group 5-10 for most of the night, it was tougher to take certain objectives, no +5’s, longer run to camps, it took much longer to break into fortified structures.

Hate the fire keep side of the map as there’s no map for the underground portion, or maybe it wasn’t showing I don’t know.

The automated turrets were too much, you can’t even kill them as far as I know, I couldn’t target them. Couldn’t build the force fields so don’t know if that changes things, but it forced us to take walls down instead.

Didn’t even bother with garrison, too much golem guards that spam ranged attacks.

I like that sentries marked enemies on the map. I don’t like the marked debuff on me for pretty much the whole night, which I’m sure was bugged.

I did enjoy the event in the middle, it did draw in the zergs(did this earlier in the day) from all sides.

Honestly though, the map feels like it would be more of a pain in the beep for roamers and havok groups, you might as well bring your zerg and get things done.

There’s already a bunch of passive buffs for pve, but people don’t pay attention to them except for maybe the crafting. They should probably tie the bonuses to the structures, so for example if you own your ebg keep your realm gains +5% more gold from drops, maybe tie another +5% to your homebl keep, Bay and Langor giving +5% karma each, etc.

Three borderlands only without ebg is interesting. EBG is a good map to find quick fights from all three sides, it’s easy to travel, smc is used as a middle focus point to encourage fights in one area, it’s really what eotm should have been. Breaking the system down to only three borderland maps would force more activity on them, pressure is always on the defending side of those maps, but I would miss ebg. I really would have gone with this concept 3 borderland and 1 ebg as eotm maps at release, but it feels too late for that given the population problems.

That’s probably going to screw over ranks 10-12 servers, which may drop them to the bottom of the pack after. I’m on Ehmry currently, ranked 12th, so yeah a gold boost isn’t really going to make me happy about it XD
Not to mention with a lot of the bottom tier servers there’s going to be more NA around than anything, and merging something like the 18/19 servers could put them into T3 territory for NA population. We might as well wait until expansion to see how many return, but I do think a merger for wvw populations of some sort needs to happen.

I suggested that a while ago as well, the pve maps are done, so take the big ones and turn it into an ebg and add 3 spawn bases, and the rest like the towns into keeps or towers, outposts into supply camps. Take out the npcs other than the minimum vendors needed for a wvw map, hell put all those vendors into the middle of the map and let all 3 sides fight for access over them lol.

You can take it a step further and convert at least 3 of those maps, then randomly assign them per server in a matchup, so T1 BG could be fireheart rise, JQ could be frostgorge sound, YB could be cursed shore for a week. Add more maps to the random rotation and it’ll feel like a week long fractal.

1. This requires three new maps(bl, ebg, eotm), and it takes them about a year to make one new map, that’s about how much time they said they spent on eotm. They are certainly not going to waste the new map they haven’t even released yet, and the three they currently have.

2. Four server matchup will turn into a 3v1, not even T1 servers could handle that and you would probably see more players taking “breaks”. Sure it would be nice if the bottom four servers team up against the top server in the matchup, but that’s what they also expected for a three way matchup, and it always ends up with the top two beating on the third place server.

If you haven’t noticed, the rest of the game has been having the event drought as well this year, they seem to be putting all their time into the beta stuff and yeah spvp tournaments. Which I don’t think should be an excuse not to run the annual events like queens pavilion or wvw seasons but whatever.

The last event they did for wvw was a disaster, the next event would have to be god kitten awesome.

Should probably make use of the free accounts and check out some servers.
Check out the server forums and see what type of discussions are going on.
Hop onto the server TS and check out how many are online during your time, and how many are in public channels.

Do not take the other forum that people are mentioning seriously, because they truly do not represent their community, a lot of times they’re just the couple trolls on the server trying to get into the pvf drama. You’re not going to find out how good a community is from that forum lol.

You won’t find much else right now with a fantasy setting other than ESO and Archeage as mentioned, and CU which won’t be out for a while yet.

Planetside 2 and Eve online are available if you don’t mind the futuristic settings.
Planetside 1 use to be my go to game when I got bored of fantasy mmos.

so in Expansion players get:

Legendary Backpiece from sPvP and PvE (Fractals)
Legendary Weapons from PvE (Story,Masteries aso)
Legendary Armor from PvE (Raids)

WvW playes get what ? nothing but Badges that you cant use on anything worthwhile at all…. no Legendarys in sight, havent heard much about new rewards except maybe a new Skin. Seriously a new skin ? so we get from 1000-s of Hours what EVERYONE can get from TP ?

Anet stop ignoring the 3rd Game-mode and give us something real in reward, give us the chance to get Legendary something in WvW…. maybe Legendary Trinkets should come from WvW mode ?

Didn’t you get the memo? You wvw so you’re suppose to be REALLY INTO Pve.

I like how they were so happy to reveal their roadmap, the new expansion for zones, raids, masteries, guildhalls for pve, and the new season and game mode for spvp, and not even a token mention for the new wvw map.

But it is what it is, should expect that type of thing from Anet by now.

Just play PvE like you have done before and you get your legendary reward. Of course it will be harder kill some raid boss than some keep lord, but you can do it if you stop staff 1 spamming.

You’re kidding right? generally I find wvw players are more skilled than pve players, making use of dodges, and getting out of red circles, having faster reaction times, etc. Hitting lord with 1 ain’t no different than hitting world bosses with 1, maybe the raid bosses will be harder than killing players at least, but who knows might just jack up their health so much it turns into a 30 min fight and call it hard.

T2 in the future

If you arent on the server whos winning and you are thinking of giving up ppt to let them go to tier 1, YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE A BAD TIME.

If you think your current situation is bad imagine if a real tier 1 server drops to your tier, if i was you i would 1vs2 them and push hard because if you let a tier 1 server drops its gg!

Not sure what the point is with your post.

1. Everyone knows it’s going to be bad that’s why 15+ guilds have already left the tier.
2. FA and SoS have had a long rivalry that wouldn’t allow an alliance for very long, they tried multiple times.
3. YB is over stacked, the T1 guilds moved there to break the T1 barrier whether it was going to take 3 weeks or 3 months.
4. Don’t worry eventually FA and SoS will drop to T3 and two unlucky T3 servers will take their place and the blob cycle will continue.
5. YB destroyed T2 finally, congratulations, you won the game.

Is Decoy broken?

Make sure you don’t:

1. Hit with a staff projectile that was already on its way before you stealthed
2. Don’t use a manipulation skill like blink that reflects projectiles

I can understand attacks breaking stealth, but why would it put a reveal buff on?
Just fought a warrior in the south part of south camp with nothing around and got revealed after I used decoy. Never had a problem with decoy before friday.

Is Decoy broken?

Not seeing another topic on this, but in the last day or so Decoy seems to be semi broken.

There are times in or outside of combat when you use it, it randomly won’t stealth you but instead put the revealed debuff on. And yes I’ve checked to see if the reveal debuff was on and which classes I was fighting, noticed it quite a bit when I was going for stomps. This is for wvw have not checked in the other sections.

So am I losing my mind or is anyone else noticing this? I’ve spoken to a couple other mesmers in game and seems it’s happening to them as well.

Wedding Dress on humans - How Garters Work

As far as I can tell the wedding dress hasn’t been put in the gemstore yet, and so I would like to point out a small problem prior to launch…

This is not how garters work.

The purpose of a garter is to hold up socks or stockings. Garters are itchy and while sexy they tend to look pretty silly unless they are also serving their initial purpose. (For more information, click here)

Which brings us to the issue at hand.

The female human wedding outfit does not include stockings and yet the dress is cut high enough to reveal a garter. I am requesting a fix by either removing the garter or adding the stocking.

Maybe you should have read your own wiki link before posting.

There is a Western wedding tradition for a bride to wear a garter to her wedding, to be removed towards the end of the reception by the groom. This garter is not normally used to support stockings.

Garter belts are what’s normally used to hold up stockings now.

Back in the day Everquest use to do something like that, allowed you to turn on a pvp flag while in pve zones, and only those that flagged up could attack each other.

Probably not something to waste development resources on at this point, I highly doubt you would run into that many that would turn the flag on.

I’m also not sure that the concentration of guilds and the makeup of T1 was our doing. Basically, the T1 servers were always competing with one another for coverage and an advantage by recruiting guilds. This naturally concentrated like minded people to the top and created a very strong core of 3’servers that were beyond the lower tiers. Seems like another result of the matchmaking system to me.

Sure, and there isn’t a thing called BG push weeks, or TW sending alt accounts to JQ to help prop it up, or OnsL sending alts to TC. Yeah it’s all the match making system with 3 equally strong servers.

PPT harder maybe Anet will notice how broken T2 is and do something at some point. I’m gonna get a good laugh if you guys finally make it into T1 right before the expansion hits, and they mix I mean mess things up with server/ratings shuffling right after.

You guys made T1 what it is today, now it seems like they’re still using your lessons and making sure you don’t get in reach of them for as long as possible.

You’ve come to T2 and finished it off, T2 was already in a state of slow destruction, but you’ve put in the final nail, all the gvg guilds moved to T3 a week after you transferred. I still find it funny that DK has been on vacation all this time, the time you need him the most for a heavy ppt push and he’s not around.

Thankfully anet put in the population changes, and in the process immobilized your main accounts to T2. Enjoy your next 3 months of 350+ PPT.

I will never understand why people hate conditions so much…

  • Conditions ignore toughness
  • You don’t need ferocity or precision, so why not go full dire
  • At this moment condition burst comes pretty close to power burst
  • 40% condition duration foods (increase and decrease)
  • The PvE changes that bleed into WvW and SPvP (also vice versa, but I don’t play PvE so not sure how much of an impact it makes)
  • Perplexity runes, 5 confusion stacks every 15 seconds
  • Passive gameplay of applying conditions then turtling

At the moment the way conditions work is very similar to power builds, you use your big damage skills to burst someone down while only having to worry about how much vitality they have, what conditions should have been was a form of attrition warfare. A condition build should eventually wear down and overpower a power build due to the conditions stacking. Instead we have everyone bursting as if they are running a power build without having to sacrifice vitality or toughness for ferocity or precision. Yes there are some traits that proc on precision but you only need enough precision to make sure they theoretically proc once every CD period. So now you’ve got someone decked out in mostly dire armor with some rabid for that little bit of precision, yet they can still maintain the same DPS output as a power build.

This is only a WvW problem but the 40% condition food is so broken and it feels like I’m the only one that thinks that, FORTY PERCENT. How did anyone think that was a good idea. Another WvW only problem are the perplexity runes, almost every condition build I come across in WvW while roaming is running this. This is a huge damage increase before the recent big patch and even bigger after the patch. Before confusion could have been avoided completely, not the case anymore. There was also a damage bump across conditions in general so they could keep up in PvE. Poison stacks intensity instead of duration, burn turned into a bigger and better version of bleed and confusion does damage without having to attack.

You’ve also got condition builds that will stack conditions on you and go full defensive. The main example being condition mesmers and thieves, mostly due to access to stealth. Although this isn’t a problem in SPvP because constantly stealthing lets the enemy capture the points meanwhile you’re too slow to kill the guy and get +1ed.

My opinions on this is that conditions need a rework, at the moment they are way to similar to power builds without the same risks. I would have no problem with conditions ignoring toughness, that would be a great way to counter bunkers, if they were an attrition build. I’m also not saying that they should revert the changes to conditions back to what they were before. Poison can keep stacking intensity and confusion can do damage without having to attack but at least their coefficients need to be looked at for WvW and SPvP.

I don’t agree with the way how conditions work right now but I also don’t know how I would fix it.

edit: Dire armor is also a WvW only problem.

@coglin I’m sorry but precision isn’t really needed on every class to apply conditions. You may need precision for some traits or weapon sigils, but there are passive ways to apply conditions without precision, weapon swaps, on hit/elite use runes, perplexity which is popular is a very good example of this. The majority of your conditions will come from your skills though.

Also conditions are not so easy to dodge when you get hit with an immobilize and then bombed with conditions, only to hit your condition clear which may take 2 or 3 off, randomly, chances are you’re almost dead anyways with the immobilize still on you. Resistance could have been a good way to help counter the increase in power and usage of conditions, sadly it’s been poorly implemented.

Burning damage is a problem they should look at first in toning down, the problem is they probably don’t want to tone it down to bleed levels.

P.S certain armor and runes should have never been introduced to the game, dire, celestial, perplexity.

Remove Guard Stacks Before HoT?

They plan on doing the wvw skill points reduction as well, and it was in the wvw borderland test recently, I think they should just go ahead with it and move it to live.

The guard stacks have been a crutch for certain builds cough cele cough, and it’s an advantage over newer players trying to get into wvw. I don’t want to hear about wvw vets need a stat bonus, I always hear wvw players don’t need bonus or rewards whenever the discussion comes up to discuss any of those.

Purple glow around player?

There’s a few graphical glitches in the game.
The purple glow by mesmers.
The green glow and buzzing sound from necros.
Seeing your clone running in one place, typically happens when you come out of lich form.
Locked in a stance like the airplane, or praying to the gods.

- Only got to play for about 1.5 hrs today, but the majority of that time was spent running from point a to b to c to d.

- The map feels too big for a borderland map, especially when you consider that most times regular borderlands are not full except for prime time and even then not on every server. If this was eotm version 2 or maybe ebg version 2 then ok, but it seems like a waste for a borderland map.

- Too many paths most of which is confusing going from point a to b, especially when higher or lower ground is also included, just felt too much like a maze. Felt like a hindrance to both defenders and attackers. Great for ambushes I suppose, but I wonder how much of that will actually happen.

- There needs to be some work done on the map art, I understand it’s gw2 and art is part of the package, but it really looks more like water painting than a map at this point. Making the map more clear will probably fix some of the feeling like a maze issues.

The areas around the towers look fine for the most part, the area around the keeps look confusing. Bridges need to be more clearly marked so that it actually looks like they’re going over elevated areas and not just some finger streak over an area. The left fire keep is entirely underground and when you go under you get the layout but it looks like it’s blotches and streaks of brown in there. The paths the dolyaks take should be marked all the way from camp to keep, they walk the path often it should be worn in every each from a to b.

- Structures are huge, towers feel like the size of the old keeps, like it was made for giants. Good luck finding pu mesmers in there, that is going to be the new annoyance.

- A+ on the new superior siege designs.

Need to put knockbacks on 5min cooldowns, it’s the only way people will learn not to just spam it when it’s off cooldown.

Seriously, there’s a well under the enemy, doesn’t mean to hit them out of it, that’s when you stick an immobilize on them….

There’s a time and place for cc skills, learn to use them already.

It’s only PvP and maybe WvW people complaining. PvE is having a ball right now.

That’s because pvp and wvw is competitive play that affects other players. I’m sure if the pve mobs could have a say they too would be telling you that the last patch put this game out of balance. So much so that they went and complained to anet about it, and got their hitpoints buffed, tequatl was laughing his kitten off when players started failing him again all of a sudden.

Seriously though, pve doesn’t have to worry about damage and balance of combat between classes, it’s just a matter of killing something faster, the faster you kill the faster you get your loot and move on, so yeah they’re having a ball with the damage increase.

Confounding Suggests. Mez Trait OP or Not?

Again, as the OP stated the issue is NOT Mantra of Distraction. The issue is the trait “Confounding Suggestions” was changed from a 50% chance of a stun to a 100% chance of a stun. And was also moved from a GM level to an ADEPT level in the trait changes.

Changing how MoD works, will have ZERO affect on what is happening right now. Because all the Mesmer needs is the “ONE” Power Lock/CS stun to do his burst.

Then he can stealth away until the cooldowns on his GS are over and go again.

So yes, CS is too powerful and needs to be changed. Mantra’s do not need to be touched. Because all that will do is hurt OTHER builds that do NOT use CS. (Granted, right now, pretty much every Mesmer is taking CS. But there are some of us, that do not.)

So yes, nerf CS. But leave the Mantra’s alone.

The problem is the 100% chance to stun, which was changed from 50% off the old trait. Sometimes I don’t know if devs really think through their changes. No class should have that much access to stuns in such a short amount of time, unless they want to start adding stun breakers to a lot more utility skills.

I’ve come to the realization that they most likely they won’t be balancing the game until they release the new elites and revenant, so that means expansion time. Even then they would need time to evaluate the new specs before they pull the trigger on anything, so another couple months after, they’ll be busy with other bugs as well.

But it’s been a month already and they can’t even do something as simple as drop burn damage by %5 and see how that goes? So what, another like 6-8 months before we get any decent balance(I hesitate to even say that lol cause anet doesn’t know balance) between classes? Ridiculous.

I’d guess the people enjoying the new meta are the ones playing the broken specs at fps game speed. If you can’t beat’em, join’em I suppose.

To answer the question, I would prefer competitive balance now and delay the new content, but that obviously does not work for a business with deadlines. But if I can’t enjoy my favorite classes then what’s the point of playing, so I’m less likely to even buy new content at this point.

Sorry but they broke mesmers, I mean broke the balance they had with them to other classes to overpowered monsters. The PU buff was ridiculous, and if this is a dev that thinks stealth should have a bigger role in fights then please stay away from all the other classes. Lockdown build also went overboard. Necros certainly did not get the same overpowered treatment, but they were some better options, eg signet builds.

I use to play mesmer, I just can’t stand the cheese of the class anymore, I thought thieves were cheesy back in the day but geez.

Ran into a group of 3 mesmers couple days ago, annoying as hell to have to chase them down.
Month ago ran into a group of 6 mesmers, half my screen was filled with illusions.
Month ago ran into a guild that only had mostly thieves, on reset they ran 8 thieves, a ranger, a mesmer, an engineer, and a partridge in a pear tree, perplex galore, ratwells for all.

You can go to spvp and get gud all you want, but in wvw you’ll run into groups that has multiples of the op classes, you’ll be dead unless you got stealth.

P.S lay down a stealth trap LOL, they might get revealed for a few seconds, but good luck on the insane burst these days.

I love when people reply to these type of threads it always sounds like you should have infinite dodges and condition cleanses. Btw a lot of conditions are instant or near instant cast or even from sigils and runes, you can’t dodge what you don’t see coming unless you’re randomly dodging.

Conditions can be stacked and restacked far more easily than it can be cleared, and also not every class has equal access to condition cleanses or how much than can be cleared, that was suppose to be part of the balance, but no such thing as balance in this game.

P.S Burning is still too stronk.

Even if SoS was open they wouldn’t have gone there, the tier 1 group didn’t go to tier 2 to balance it out, they went there to stack a highly defensive server to push back into tier 1.

You don’t need to spam it, press it when you see the exp fly up on your screen, or every 5-10s in a fight. Unless you were part of a really fast moving drawn out fight area I don’t have a problem with it. I very rarely have to go back to look for bags.

Not that I disagree for better visuals, not just loot bags but for other stuff too.

Trebuchet week – when you get hit with a rotting cow (friends and foes) you get a condition that transforms you into a Risen Acolyte, complete with their skills to use.

Taken from the wiki:

  1. skill – Necrotic grasp: projectile that pieces and makes you say “Braaaains!” in the zombie way.
  2. skill – Dark halting: a cripple attack that makes you growl zombie like.
  3. skill – Healing: skill that heals and gives fury and might, makes you moan like a tired zombie.
  4. skill – Leap: leap away on all fours while yelling “BLAAHH” in a zombie like manner.
  5. skill – Feeding frenzy: zombie finisher on players, start eating brains off downed players, gain protection. Only active when near a downed player.

Oh and trebs will have 200% more turn speed, 5sec cooldowns on all shots.

Did you set the loot all key?
I have minds set to L-Alt and hit it every once in a while.

P.S if you haven’t read the news this week, YB just got a truckload of players from T1, their NA queues are higher than FA, 50+ queues on every bl last night. They’re still open while FA and SoS are locked.

So once again players are trying to make more imbalanced match ups is what you are really saying..

They said they’re trying to push YB to kitten break the T1/2 barrier and and get T1/2 rotation matches again since T1 is getting stale. But this is from the same people who kept T1 out of reach from T2 in the first place.

Sorry, this made me laugh, and not in a good way.
Here is a snap shot of what it like facing off green on eotm. Do some caps with your zerg of 15 -30 (dependent whether your blue or red), then see roughly 100 green come screaming towards you. Next you get the odd comment on map chat, along the lines of, ‘really hope we are green next week!’.
By the way that not an exaggeration, that’s exactly what happens!

(before anyone says ‘ohhh but eotm doesn’t count, its not wvw,—- the dev brought it up, not me, so it does by that very fact, even though vested interests in some wvw corners would like to keep the balancing just as it is)

Eotm is the way it is today because red and blue sides allowed green to walk all over them, over and over again, week after week. They have a strategy, they rush red keep early on, then they camp out keep for a little bit wiping red zerg over and over because it’s predictable on what red will do next, eg pretty sure you’re going for scorpions, pretty sure you’re coming back for the keep.

They get wiped again and pushed to spawn. Red gets demoralized and begins to lose half their force, because players want an easy ride, understandable, since it’s a leveling area for most of them. Green’s work is done, they have an easy side to overrun for the rest of the game.

Red and Blue players need to stick it out, weather the storm, stop falling for the same trap and then double team green. Get smart or get run over, this hasn’t been happening from day 1.

Is this any way in response to NA Fort Aspenwood’s WvW population being larger than even the tier 1 servers? And the other tier 2 servers that get locked in against them dying out because there’s no way they can deal with that? A pretty jabbing observation I know, but one that’s nonetheless true.

Whaaaaat? YB matches FA population, FA has been losing guilds for a little while now because they got so fat the queues went to hell, it’s back to manageable levels. If anything this is in response to SoS, DB, DH all being on full status while not even being in T1. SoS has been on full for months with gaps here and there when it opens, but it’s population is probably less than half of FA and YB, that’s how many pve players they have.

DB has dropped almost 10 ranks in ratings because of their full status and unable to recruit, they lost a bunch of wvw players and still remain locked for the majority of the time. DH is locked even though they’re a mid ranking server. That’s how much of a difference the pve numbers make. Pve players have no reason to move ever again, which makes it very restrictive to wvw populations on any server.

I didn’t pre-order. In fact – I don’t plan to. Is 50 to 100 bucks a big deal to the company? Probably not. Is 200 bucks a big deal (2 players in house), probably not. So really when I look at it, my 200 potential bucks and complaints mean nothing at the end of the day.
