If you have a couple of million karma a direct way to get exactly the tier you want is to throw 4 cloth karma armour into the mystic forge (or in a easier way mystic conduit that can be made or bought directly from the tp). Use the wiki to find the karma merchant in the map level equivalent to the tier material you want. The product can then be broken down, you have a small chance to get back a soulbound item but just throw that back into the forge with 3 other karma items.

If all you want to do is sPvP then you need nothing, don’t even need to level up a character. All equipment, weapons, traits are open for you from when you enter the game and you are on a level playing field with other players.
WvW you are better off leveling and opening HoT professions but that takes if focused only on that about 30 hours in game time, and all can be done inside the WvW maps.
I have a slightly different bit of advice.
At 80 do the intro story to HoT, this unlocks masteries.
Go into Verdent Brink and level up gliding you get 1 mastery point doing the story and most of the exp required for this (bottom right beside the exp bar is the easiest way to access what masteries you are working on and change where the exp goes if you want). The rest of the exp can be gotten doing events around the entry wp.
Leave HoT maps if you are enjoying yourself stay but…
Level up Pact masteries in core maps to get auto loot.
Do some fractals for exp and mastery points and cash.
See if you can duo low level fractals with your wife, just for kicks nothing else.
Ignore the above and have fun doing other things. All up to you two.
I not only thought the 2015 airplane event was funny, I also thought it was the most beautiful event I had ever seen during my online life.
2016 was quite shocking that they had listened to the mob and did basically nothing.
Suppose for an instant that they believed that one of the people on this thread was absolutely right and they would not live another second without implementing all of the ideas. Since there are contradictory examples on this thread what are you others going to do? Will you say wow that person was so wonderful and now the game is perfect (one person maybe will say this) the rest will go on with your ideas about how messed up the game is until they listen to the “right” person.

I would recommend 9 or less so you only get one spawn location at a time. I have done it with 4 as a group and it was fairly straightforward.
The people involved do not need to be guild members so you can call out in map chat if you do not think you have enough. The member of the guild who is in the party or squad leader needs to enter the instance first though, and a guild member needs to trigger the NPC inside to get everything going.
Occasionally someone posts about this, not often. The limit is due to people using stolen payment systems etc, takes time to clear with the credit companies. What do you need to buy within 4 days of purchase that will completely change your enjoyment of the game? An experienced player could level a couple of characters to 80 the long way around but for a new player (myself for example) they are not out of the starter zones. Even with using the lvl 80 boost if you jump in cold to lvl 80 content you will get frustrated (many posts about this) and need to go back to learn what works in this game anyway.
Easiest way is to use a private guild, Dump everything into guild bank, remove on other account. No mail involved.

I had forgotten the origins of Ellen and the beginning of the Watchwork Knights. Was a nice summary. The karka invasion introducing Southsun completely removes the to me horrible memory of not know what was going on and why due to several minute lag on the servers.

I would suggest you read through the forums and look at the threads about both perceived and actual “forced” content and see how well those are looked upon by a subset of the game population.

I expect about 15 pve zones at the bare minimum, new dungeons, and a GvG gamemode with at least 3 maps and elite professions that aren’t rushed out… That is if I’m ever going to pay the price of HoT again.
I don’t want a story, those are pretty badly written anyway. If I want a good story I’ll read a book instead. I just want good gameplay.
I don’t think your expectations will be met. Doubtful there will be new dungeons or a GvG game mode, nor 18 total new maps.
But when unrealistic expectations are not met an entire genre of forum posts crops up.

I don’t think it is because it is the end of the jp, I think there is something scheduled to be built there. It is a very sharply defined area that stretches out from the cliff and at just below the level of the shrine. The same effect was in guilded hollow where the pvp arena (the top of the arena not at ground level) is now could not be approached with decorations.
BL chest items are seasonal meaning they are associated with events but not tied to them.
Housing I have only used either as a junk heap or a waypoint to other places or both depending on the game. I would not pay anything for the privilege in GW2 especially since I have a home instance (not decorate able) and 2 private guild halls (lots of room to decorate).
Fishing I do now by jumping in the water. Mostly seems to be something to do afk in other games which is really counter productive for a game to reward not playing that game.
The TL;DR for people visiting is that you need to go walk through it, which triggers an achievement chain to start, which ends with you able to make it go away.
As long as you have the achievement of killing an open world anomaly. Otherwise nothing will happen. If you don’t have it just go to one of the maps at the time listed in the wiki and follow the zerg around the map for the kill.
Check to see if your graphics card is over heating. When mine did weird things happened to the game.
I don’t remember them ever putting the extra character slots for a higher discount. If they do it won’t be for a long time anyway, go for it if you want one or two,

I see this in Silverwastes fairly often. Annoying but generally not a huge issue for me personally.
Different legendaries require different crafting check out the ones you are interested in on the wiki. Also will give you more of an idea of materials needed, dungeons needed to run, WvW track that needs to be finished and total gold if you just want to buy instead of taking time for the materials to accumulate. GW2efficiency also gives an option to use what is in your inventory to see reduction in costs.
Give Tequatl a go as well. A lot of exp for a relatively short period of time.
I would suggest ANET sell their competence in keeping the game live for maintenance and updates to other companies. Really this is the best game for that I have seen.
Other games 8 hours down each week then 5 plus hours on top of that for any “quick fix” problems.

Has been asked for numerous times. People complain they hate underwater for x reason. Not sure it is on a priority list in the company until they work on the undersea dragon, even then they may just do every event on land to head off the complaints. Then they would get complaints from those like myself that really enjoy underwater.
It would be a nice QoL. Hope it gets added to the list of QoL they are working on.
They have been clear that anything that interacts with the client is against the ToS. Anything that is an overlay that does not interact with the client is fine.
You do not need to be any type of skilled player. Look at map chat, look at LFG look at the various communities mentioned in this thread. Have run hundreds of times and when I bought another account it was easy to get the runs to get all of the achievements, sometimes by just being on a map at the right time.

This has been a known issue since before the Teq revamp many years ago. If it was easy it would have been fixed then. If it was hard it would have been fixed by now as well. Which leaves it being a deep core issue that if fixed would interact in harmful ways to the rest of the structure that has grown up over the years.
Set your settings to minimum, start upping them to see what leads to a crash. I find that just reducing other player resolution and number shown has always been enough to eliminate any crashes I have had.
And yes Dragon Stand is successfully done all the time.
I may be missing something but if you don’t like the story and refuse to do it on other characters you have why is it a problem now? You got your rare weapon already so what else are you missing? Did they remove the mastery point? If not I really, really am having a difficult time understanding why you would care about this.
I find SW so mind numbingly dull that doing it is an actual disincentive to earn gold. When getting shovels for guild halls I have, I actually dread going there. So gold may be great but going through the motions is hard.
Does anyone know how to get 100% map completion on alts in this zone without having to redo the story constantly?

Which makes it really annoying for those of us that want to take alts to the new zones without replaying the stupid story ad nauseum. Once I’ve done the story on one character, I don’t need to do it again.
Good thing you don’t need to do the story to enter the new zone on a different character then. Just took a character I have not done it on and it is just another zone entrance to that one.
I suggest that you do a mastery point tour and a chest run (such as chests from pact ships not chai acid ones) to build up crystals. Chests can be found fairly easily, I have as I said above 10 that I can get to in under 15 min and can be visited by each character on your account every day.
Fairly close to what I am noticing. It does seem off, maybe they where nervous that people would die too much if the ai really focused on players instead of giving them breathing room.
Where are you getting the chests you are opening? Last time I did a count I got 47 crystals from 10 chests, events give a lot, crystallized catches give a lot. Not sure why you say they don’t.

In spring ice cracks as it melts so could be an allusion to that, could also be walking on thin ice and a crack is not what you want to see.

That level 80 boost ought to be unusable until you have at least 1 other 80.
I don’t agree with this. I have 15 level 80s and bought a new account, yes I have taken many the long way around but using a 80 boost is fine with me. If you fail to do even basic research and think you are top of the world great, live with the consequences though don’t blame the game you can’t play because of your own arrogance.

If they had the wardrobe system from the beginning and if they had concept appearances then they could sell entire sets I believe. They did not and doing so now would be counter productive at best.
There are ten easily accessible chests that can be opened by each character once per day. Great source of crystal and you pass the flax farm getting to them.
I’ve only opened abut 30 chests in TD but total I have received less than 50 ley line crystals from chests. I don’t exactly count that as accessible or easy to acquire considering how easy it is to get aurillium and airship parts
Just did my long circuit with 10 chests, got 47 crystals took 14 minutes, got 17 flax seeds at the farm, did not see anyone to do daily mastery points so no chests from that, did get 2 rare reclaimed weapons though so was a good run. This was not a fast run either.
Did you do events as well or just open chests? And do you have a very high magic find (I have no idea if this affects chest or not)? Since I’ve opened so few chests there is always the chance that I was just unlucky with the ones that I did open I suppose.
No events where done and magic find has zero impact on chests.
