A build i’ve been messing around with, quite fun actually, but a big con: Kiting. The build is quite powerful in teamfights, plenty of targetted CC, baiting potential and denial. But in situations where a player can freely kite you, it will be at a disadvantage.
A few things can be swapped around, the adept Str trait can be w/e you want (some maps can actually favor Death From Above, for Distracting Strikes proc)
Last Blaze and Smash Brawler are contenders, but prefer Savage Instinct.
King of Fires vs Eternal Champion if you dont want to use Shattering as situational stab gain. (ex: Leap > Shattering > Head butt)
King of Fires vs Bloody Roar is an interesting thought as well, since Taunt will count as another CC and improve your damage while in berserk.
Wild blow (100% crit chance) needs to be setup, but with Merc amulet does good damage, can launch from point, prevent res, etc.
Another option is swapping Last Stand with Cleansing Ire (this variant was the one used when I hit Legendary)
EDIT: Fixed a build issue, replaced Balanced Stance with Wild Blow
EDIT 2: Merc Amulet is gone, now using Sage

I definitely know that their current decisions with the power creep and elite specs has prevented me from giving them any cash since Halloween (last time i buy anything until the state of the game improves)
Garbage balance, blatant power creep and lack of any meaningful content is not a great place to be…
The game is slowly developing “Star Wars Galaxies” syndrome, where they will keep making poor decisions until it is too late and decry “we should have listened to our playerbase”
I still kinda wish they would revert the Combustive Shot nerf though, bring the ticks back to 1 second and bring a bit of the damage back.
I still remember the massive facepalm when they responded to the nerf that it was because “the damage ticks were gaining too much adrenaline” when the skill never gained adrenaline from the ticks in the first place (it was from the Furious trait which gave adren on crits)
Way back then, I thought they guys didn’t even play their own game, now though….I still think the same.
What? sPvP, Guild Hall and WvW are the PvP areas, there are sometimes seasonal arenas for wintersday, etc.
:( lame. If I want PvE content, I have consoles for that.
What does this even mean? It makes very little sense
The mass amounts of AoE, CC, invulns (less now though with diamond skin and well of precog nerfed) and passive nonsense ruined that feeling completely, The game is getting farther and farther away from “active combat” with each patch.
Soon we will have the same combat as any WoW clone, where we just use basic attacks on braindead rotations while passives proc and do the work for us.
There was so much time to get to legendary….This is like complaining that you didn’t finish your homework in high school because you were procrastinating. I got to legendary easily within the given time. Next time don’t wait til the last minute.
It’s more of an example of what happens when a company promises something and then does not fulfill said promise. 25th is not over. Why is the season over. I would have asked this if I were legend.
Promise? The 25th ends at 00:00 UTC (reset time in-game, 4pm)
In case you didn’t catch Evan’s post last week, I just wanted to remind everyone that PvP League Season One (including the Guild Challenger League) will end on January 26 at 00:00 UTC (4pm Pacific on Jan 25). There will be a one hour grace period after 4pm to allow any in-progress matches to complete and then the season will officially end.
(edited by Zietlogik.6208)
I’ll play the devil’s advocate and say that I frankly understand his confusion. The infographics said “Season ends January 26th”, which many, myself included, thought woud mean “the usual patch time”, or, at least indeed ON “January 26th” (which could actually be interpreted as both “ending midnight 25-26th” or even “ends 26th, 23:59”
Due to timezones, adding a countdown timer on the last 24 hours would have been very helpful and may prevent further confusion next season.
The graphic for me said the 25th, and I assumed it meant on “reset” on the 25th….which is exactly what happened.
Big Patch is on the 26th, but the leagues ending text in the leagues window said the 25th for me.

I still believe that Chronomancer is still more valuable in both team fights and portal defense.
delete pls, duplicate post
If I lose, that is when I take a break, if I win, I continue until I lose. But I don’t know about that algorithm.
You’re on the opposite end of the stick. Match Making is always in your favour. See the screen for an even better example of the power of luck in solo queue.
If you win by more than 200 points, the match was likely in your favour from the start. I won a match 500 to 17 in solo ranked yesterday and only gained 1 pip.
Congrats. I haven’t been able to get past tier 5 ruby. When I do break into tier 6 I am paired against a team that slaughters me. Part of this is a personal issue, but part of it is the system. I honestly don’t even know why I’m trying anymore. I take breaks when I lose and come back and get completely out-matched or on a team that needs 4 people to kill one person.
For whatever reason, this seems to happen to EVERYONE, the last stretch of Ruby (t5 and 6) puts everyone through the gauntlet, It took me weeks to get my last 3 pips into diamond.
It is once I reached diamond that it became smooth sailing. Maybe they !$@#ed something up for Ruby match making. But this was also prior to the “smurfing” patch that it gave me trouble.
SoloQ into Legendary with my Rev, ez pz
are you honestly trying to compare twitch numbers to an MMO that just came out in the west? People are watching it because they want to know what it is like because they make the Download. Even LoL streamers are just trying it out between Queue times because it is “the new thing”
Once people find out how monotonous the questing is, how unforgiving latency is, and how locked behind paywalls the entire cosmetic system is, the numbers will drop again
Welcome to gw2 50% w/l algorithm :>
I just hit my legendary today, my entire Diamond journey has been an 80%= winrate while SoloQ.
If I lose, that is when I take a break, if I win, I continue until I lose. But I don’t know about that algorithm.
Using a ranged attack on the downed enemy will show you their actual location usually (follow the projectile location)
It is a lag/latency issue, it happens alot when people are in mid-jump, or falling from a ledge when being downed.
To me what is happening is the stomp fails when I am using quickness.
Depends on when you activated the stomp, you will speed up the animation, but the timer will remain the same when you activate it before quickness (this is being removed from play on the 26th anyways, so quickness stomps won’t exist anymore)
the fact u cant drop tiers is bullkitten, how is it a measurement of skill if u only can go up lol?
^ Sage advice from someone still in Sapphire ^ lol
Aside from skill adjustments, another way we can adjust balance in PvP is by looking at the runes/sigils/amulets that are available for use through the customization panel.
I would be interested in hearing thoughts (with the high-level goals from the blog in-mind) on adding/removing various sigils/amulets/runes. In general, our goal for PvP is to be faster-paced with a higher-level of lethality than what we’re seeing in S1.
I know we’ve had this conversation a few times before, but it’s always important to have this discussion with the correct context in mind.
You know another good way to balance conquest? Not having it be 95% reliant on standing in a circle at match start. Something on the sides to prevent the bunker issues
Even having it so it is a tug-o-war (no teams can capture or contest middle until their home point is completely captured, side nodes cannot be contested by an enemy unless center is owned by a team) would mean an afk bunker mes or druid couldn’t just run to a point at match start and stand there forever causing a stalemate for 15 minutes.
up to 10 losses, this is great >.>
Ohhhh this is so fun, gee gosh golly, I can hardly contain myself with the sheer amount of fun and enjoyment I am getting out of this PvP system! You have really outdone yourselves Anet! Why would I EVER want to go play another game when this is just SO MUCH FUN! /s
Guardian traps still do this alot, but then there are a few low-tell CCs like Eles Focus 5 in air etc.
with 29 AR, you will be taking a bit of damage from Agony at 40, but nothing massive, but you will really want to get more so just in case you do die, you don’t want to disadvantage your team by them having to res you over and over :P
Depends on how much money you wish to spend, and how high level fractal you are at.
Personally, I still have exotic armor as well still, and have 82 AR. And this has been purely without manually infusing any rings.
One thing that will help you greatly is to level up your Fractal Mastery, it gives you a bonus reward chest so you can have a chance at getting some more ascended rings that are possibly Infused (higher level chests)
Then use 75 relics to buy the +5 infusions and put them into any ascended trinks and weapons you have. This would give you a base of 40 AR if you have 2 in your weapon(s), and 6 in your trinkets.
You can later turn those +5 ones into +7 ones if you so desire, by using the Mastery vendor.
Then use the mastery vendor (if you have it) to buy Agonized Essence, (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Agonized_Essence) which let’s you easily add another infusion slot to your ascended rings.
Once you start running medium/high level fractals you will start getting infused rings as drops that you can further augment your AR.
My current no-armor setup is:
Weapon: + 5 (2)
Back: + 5, + 10 (infused)
Rings: + 5 (2), + 11 (2), + 10 (1) -2 rings Attuned, 1 ring Infused-
Trinkets: + 5 (2)
I would highly recommend going for ascended weaponry, they provide the most stat boost from going Ascended, and give 2 basic infusion slots.
Just watched…
The story, so much better when it is appropriately conveyed, voice acting, camera usage, panoramas and story depth.
The entirety of the Personal story lacks this
They respond on Reddit, they probably aren;t allowed to come here anymore, new company policy /s
Teleport and quickness
especially if you are power rev, quickness with sword spam is crazy dps. And teleport is very useful for alot of maps with terrain abuse like Khylo
Thief? Home Bunker?
I can almost hear the sound of this joke going over my head.
It did go over your head, he use vault like…8 times!
Leading the way, winning matches like a baws (soloQ)
Thief was our home bunker, I was roamer.
See, it’s not THAT bad….ok it is still pure cancer meta…
Playing any non HoT build/class currently is just gimping yourself and your team, and then there is the higher echelon of builds that are currently so cancerous and asinine that it makes the old meta look like a joke in comparison.
I am not sure what Anet’s plans are, if they even have any, but this will surely be the death of their pvp if they let it continue.
Everything added since HoT in PvP is pretty much a disease. It’s fun when you are on the throne playing god as one of the stupidly imba builds, and absolute crushing disappointment when you are not.
This is the opposite of balance, the opposite of fun, and the opposite of esports.
tested bunker mes, it feels strong but i wouldnt call it op. Yet i bet there are toons of better mesmers than me that can be pretty much unkillable on this build
Not only are they themselves unkillable, they can make their team in a teamfight unkillable, never let the enemy stomp, res faster than light, and be mobile enough to decap side nodes whenever they please.
They aren’t op, they are God
Put it on reddit, the devs won’t read it here!
Click on the meta achievement, it will list all the requirements.
im getting through t4 of d2 currently, i have been getting alot of the dreaded “1 win away from next tier, lets start a losing streak” kind of luck tough each tier.
(edited by Zietlogik.6208)
Sorry you dont seem to get my point. I’m bad.
fixd
I just run power reaper >.> you don’t really have to change much though, they all have their uses, and are all helpful in their own ways…unless some other classes traits
(edited by Zietlogik.6208)
The system is supposed to be easier for new players.
Except they were never smart enough to make a proper tutorial to show new players anything.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/Needed-PvP-Tutorial-for-New-Players/first#post4761977
That afk necro ruined it, Is this seriously ranked gameplay where the person is allowed to troll a team??That kitten should only happen in unranked matches
He wasn’t actually AFK, probably really bad, but not AFK
Had a decent win streak, got me to T2 D2. Warrior isnt THAT bad…well…
Considering the animations for Charr and norn war are awful, I vote Asura

Right now Raids need a single higher armor player, and the rest zerker and condi. The raid hasn’t been out for very long, but people are starting to see how much DPS you can get from some condi specs (reaper/engi)
So if you play condi, you can get in, but be prepared to be geared for the highest condi DPS you can push out (same with pure zerker)
It is definitely a different kind of game, you can try up to 20 for free, with a ton of character slots so you can try every class as well.
The problem is that they have revamped alot of the lower level zones several times over making them more entertaining. Once you get to 60-80 you will start feeling the slog, it is just slow. Unless slow is what you are looking for that is, then it may be up your alley.
I can’t stand the PvP though personally, gear based and clear cut unbalance with some classes….although we are starting to see that here in GW2 as well.
Long story short, Anet should scrap the expansion idea, and go back to their overlapping stand-alone campaign train of thought. They made Factions and Nightfall all within good time frames, with EotN adding new mechanics (HoT does this)
So it is almost the same, we are just missing 2 campaigns between launch and HoT (lol) :/
There should be a Gauntlet Mode/Hardcore Mode where you could have the queue start right when the match ends (no need to exit match) and you would not be able to change your builds between matches (RA/HA)
I think with the current queue times and community size though, 25 is a bit much. Make it 15, and after the 15th win, perhaps some unique PvP rewards/chest.
The issue I see with rewards though, is that you want to incentivise people to go for the long haul, but you don’t want people to try and match manipulate for “free wins”
This one seems a bit different to the standard movement bug with forward movement. hitting W puts you into a 1/2 step animation that stops, and also freezes you in place. This one has been around for ages.
After dodge rolls, weapon swaps, and transforms (reaper shroud etc.)
The game just freezes my character in place randomly, similar to immobilize. I have to stop using any movement keys and re-hit them in order for movement to register.
Removing people from queue on map travel is a decent middle ground and should be easier than temporarily removing them from the queue. However, even teleporting within a map can have decent load times and hooking up warnings to every way you can leave a map, like Elwinson listed, is still a moderate feat.
The new player argument is obviously not an ideal one, but at the time was decent. I’d argue its more important now that we’ve removed the tutorial, but ideally should not affect where you can queue from once you know how PvP works.
The WvW queue behaves much differently from the PvP queue and cannot be used as an example or launching point unfortunately.
Increasing match accept times I don’t think is an effective or fun solution to this problem.
Speaking of Tutorials….please reconsider improving and re-adding one for new players:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/sPvP-Fix-List/first#post5588156 (Tutorial post)
I just had the pleasure of having this %!@#tard in my match, I will report them for botting every time they are in the match regardless of what team. This is just disrespectful behavior and ruining the enjoyment for others.
An elite spec based on stances and shouts (we have alot of shouts now in the game though…but w/e)
Adds an f2, f3 and f4 as Stances along with your basic F1 Burst Ability. All stances will have a 30 second recharge (starting at stance end), last 10 seconds and requires level 3 adrenaline.
F2: Destroyer’s Stance
- Consume your adrenaline and go into a Furious Rage, retain your weapon skills and gain 25% bonus damage and cooldown reduction on all skills. Take 10% more damage from all sources. When Furious Stance ends, you are slowed for 7 seconds.
F3: Unyielding Stance
- Consume your adrenaline and become an immovable object. Move 15% slower, gain 400 toughness and 25% reduced condition durations. Gain access to 5 new defensive skills. When Unyielding Stance ends, lose 10% of your remaining health.
AA – (Swing, Backhand, Belly Smash), Swing in front of you. Deflecting projectiles you strike. Create an explosion of dust if you strike a disabled foe, blinding and crippling all nearby enemies
2 – “Watch Yourself!” Shout. Give all nearby allies Protection (3 seconds) and Aegis (1 second)
3 – Human Shield (4 second channel). Defend your allies with yourself, absorbing all incoming frontal attacks. 50% reduced incoming damage. Projectiles absorbed will be reflected back to their source after the channel ends. Adds 2 vulnerability per projectile.
4 – Rallypoint. Enter a rallying stance for 3 seconds. Healing downed allies and pulsing Might (3) and Regeneration (4s) to nearby allies every second.
5 – “Show me what you got!” (3 second channel). Shout. Root yourself and taunt (1s) all enemies in range per second.
F4: Unstoppable Stance
- Consume your adrenaline and enter an unstoppable stance, gaining stability every second and removing 1 condition per 3 seconds. Replace your weapon skills with control abilities. Deal 33% less damage in Unstoppable Stance.
AA – Knockout Combo – Daze your target with each strike, launching your foe with the final strike.
2 – “Away with you!” Shout. Quickly knockback all nearby foes.
3 – Tackle – Lunge towards target area. Any foes caught in your path are carried with you to the location.
4 – Sunder – Punch the ground, creating a line directly away from you creating a wall enemies cannot pass.
5. – Meteoric Stomp – Stomp the ground with such force it erupts the ground around you. Enemies caught in the area after 1 second will float in mid-air, after 2 seconds launched away.

greataxe warrior op i need that kitten on right now
seriously, in most games i used to pick the character with usable greataxe and i loved it!!!!!
please riot make a champ with greataxe !!
We can all be Darius and dunk people with insta-recharge Elite on kill….this actually sounds nice…not the mount part though, that sounds stupid.
