We must first understand the 3 most common types of quitters/leavers/AFKers
Type A: the emo cry baby with who takes offense at the slightest suggestions.
Type B: the chronic quitter that bounce way too early in the match if things don’t go his way. he thinks he is too good to be teamed up with scrubs.
Type C: unhappy pvp veterans who just about had it with class imbalance, poor matchmaking. these players don’t quit as often and newer ones. But when they do, it’s often justifiable
Notice how fast they nerf whatever people complained about with engies? It’s coz not that many people play it in pve, wvw and pvp.
It will be harder for them to nerf eles coz it’s over represented in all 3 game modes.
Maybe reverse psychology would work
Please buff eles. Make blinding ashes baseline so I can get 25 might stacks in no time. We have one of the lowest health pools and our healing isn’t that great anymore.

And I’ve also killed d/d eles with rampage warrior at its current state. d/d eles no problem with cele signet necro. you may think this is funny but I’ve killed d/d eles with a burn guard. it’s not fiction that i’ve killed d/d eles with a ranger.
but the funnest way to kill d/d eles is with a d/d ele and the reason i’m able to kill them with the classes above is because i know how to play one. im not very good, but understanding their attunements and CDs help a lot
I’ve dueled some of the best cele ele’s in the game. The only way to win (land 2x zealot’s fire, PF, JI and work around Water cleanses, cantrip cleanses, invuln/block/dodge their Fire bursts) is to play a perfect game and for them to make a mistake.
An Ele should never lose to a Guardian. Period. The one’s you played were not very experienced.
They were prolly fotm eles. I just kept blinding and burning them after they attuned out of water. I usually don’t even bother if I know I’m going against a good ele. They’ll just waste all my CDs and run away if they didn’t kill me already.
So gg to condi engi, condi ranger, and condi guard. Do you really not see the ramifications of this, or do you just not care about balance as long as you don’t have to run condi clear? Genuinely curious.
This is terrible, stop complaining and make your build able to handle conditions, if this is @ burn guards you’d be nerfing a class that has a ton of couners and if this is at ele’s tell Anet to nerf ele’s instead. Just cause you can’t find a build that handles power and condi pressure don’t make the game change.

Edit: Also, just because this is an elementalist thread doesn’t mean we’re only looking at elementalist, and it also doesn’t mean we’re only looking at doing nerfs.

You can still be competitive in unranked. Pushing the requirement makes ranked play seem more valuable and not to be taken lightly. Pushing the requirement will make it less miserable for competitive solo queuers in ranked.
Repetition is reputation. Awareness to map rotations become second nature the more they grind.
I agree there are lots of bad r80 players. I’m skeptic towards r80s and the entire premise of rank in general because zerging and team swapping in hotjoin can get one to r80.
^ That works too in case matchmaking fails. Way better than r20 minimum. At least you know your teammates have been around long enough to understand the basics.
Reason why I’m skeptic is because this would happen to me when I’m in melee range. Meaning my melee attacks have landed to down them within a short range. Then when the stomp icon appears, I’d hit F and my character would just stand there.
I know desyncs are the culprit when you stomp someone and nothing happens but you do see the stomp animation of your character
This case, I’d repeatedly hit F and nothing happens. My stupid character stands there and gets attacked over and over.
I don’t think I’ve had this happen before a few days ago.
It is still desync, but a more severe one, meaning the downed player is only visually there. This usually happens when enemies are downed while they are using movement skills. Mostly happens with eles.
I remember during the first test ladder, there was an open dialog between us and a pvp dev about activating profession based MMR. It’s prolly deactivated along with the LB

I understand where OP is coming from. It’s good that there’s now a minimum but the “reminder” that hey, you can now queue ranked coz you’ve graduated to r20 could be bad if matchmaking doesn’t work.
sPvP is the one area in the game that might actually gain something from f2p with few ill effects. PvE doesnt need it and WvW would probably get choked by it (so many spies).
Well except that you would be bombarded by a million gold sellers as soon as you enter the mists.

I guess things need to get worse before it gets better.
They fixed the vampire rune bug on engie and necro but I’ve always wondered why the ele got away with it.
I feel like there’s an ele conspiracy against all classes by making themselves immune to bug fixes and get buffs every patch.
Now that this is out in the open, I really do hope people abuse it so it finally gets attention.
Because Ele is underpowered.
And I hope they won’t fix it.
Ele will be finally balanced in downed state.
just the d/d ones that use celestial are underpowered. they deserve a second chance at fighting after they are effortlessly downed and that’s what the vampire runes help deliver.
But then again, Anet’s silence about this bug makes me self-doubt how necros are played. What if we are doing it wrong all along? Is this even a bug in the first place?
Their silence and lack of response about this is one of the reasons why they fall behind on the competitive scene.
Quit complaining. Necro is actually in a great position right now. You just need to ensure you are playing it the right way. Its always funny how some people try to play every class the same way. Each class has a different role. Follow it.

one could reach rank 20 in a few hours not sure if that’s enough to justify ranked qualification but it’s better than nothing I guess. I’ve seen rank 80s that are unqualified for ranked
I don’t PvE. Recently I created a duplicate Mesmer and Necro cause I wanted Norns. I show up as a Lvl 1 player.
But honestly, sticks and stones and all. Couldn’t care less if people abuse me. But then I’m also 33 years old and a blogger – I have practice dealing with abuse!
I used to blog too but man, that’s so 2004 lol. I think twitter replaced blogging for a lot of people. Good to know you still do it.
Yeah Lvl 1s are usually good pvpers and it’s been known to those that pvp a lot. The pvp community is so small I’m not surprised that veteran pvpers would get teamed with low MMR players in solo queue ranked.
On a more serious note, I’ve never liked the dd cele build even though I play it sometimes. It has everything. I don’t think I’ve ever come across a build in any of the pvp games I’ve played that had it all.
