ya. during the NA leagues. i began taking screenshots and hundreds of selfies. then emailed everyone on my contact list to ask them to like my new selfies coz i got so bored of seeing clocks on the ground. i guess that was part of na prime.
We are on the 3rd set now and so far – 30 people have represented 3 professions.
Wow just wow. Also they will be nerfing revenants while mesmers continue to have dominant presence on nodes. Revenants counter mesmers, with them out of the picture, how the heck do we take down chronobunkers?
I’d rather have the op shatter mesmer build after the June 23 patch…which got nerfed soon after.
I agree with her about how the treb is often misused in solo queue. However, before leagues started we won a 4v5 in Khylo. Out of all the maps, it is the least hostile to being outnumbered.
Back on topic, we won the 4v5 because one of the guys in our team was a wvw commander. He was out of this world with his treb OPness and was using it as if it was on weapon swap.
I dont know how the pro leagues would approach it but if someone in the team is amazing with it, then use it for sure.
1. Why the hell are most of them queuing in the first place? OMG, please practice your builds in hotjoin or unranked. Then you practice how to rotate. Doesnt matter your role. Know how to rotate. Know how to survive.
And dont tell me power reaper counters it, it doesn’t.
I beat one with a carrion reaper 1v1. The ele was sitting at our home point and I wasn’t going to let them boss us around and take our real estate!!!!!!!!!!
These lists are very basics that it sounds more like “most common mistakes made by hotjoin heros”. Instead, make another thread to list things you can do to help carry the team as a solo player, for example.
Teamwork is still needed to function in conquest. Being able to carry lies on the individual’s skill. If you need someone to instruct you on how to carry, then you are likely to fail anyway.
It’s also very narrow minded of you to criticize the tips shared by helpful individuals when you have provided nothing useful
Keep an eye on your allies health bar, and when he does go down, try to rez as possible. Allies can go down especially when getting focued. It means he’s taking damages for you instead. Not always necessary to conclude he’s no skills. Watching your allies helps rotating, if they need help or not.
Also, when you have bunker mesmers on your team, and he puts wells, stay inside to get buffs and alacrity. I see often players not staying in wells. Alacrity is given when the well ends.

Remember guys, Alacrity could influence a favorable advantage to your team because it causes skills to recharge 66% faster. For every second under effect of Alacrity, skills recharge at 1.66 seconds. So it’s good to be inside those wells/clocks on the ground.
Winning the fight will always win you the point. Winning the point will not always win you the fight.

That’s correct. It’s not really defending when the bunk sits at home breathing through his mouth while his teammates are out struggling in an outnumbered battle.
Don’t pay attention to them. I’d rather have someone who is an expert in his class than a mediocre op spec. A very tight class comp only matters if you’re competing in tourneys. It matters in ranked too but not as much. In soloQ, as long as you understand rotations and what to do in fighting encounters, you’ll be fine
The probability of having a separate Solo Queue is looking bleak. So instead mourning for its absence, I’ve decided to create a list of mistakes commonly made in order to improve and progress further in the season.
The goal here is to help the community survive and extract enjoyment out of the game despite the unfavorable circumstances. Please add what you feel most SoloQers need to improve on.
I do not wish for this thread to be hostile or vitriolic.
1. Defend the points you just capped.
A lot of times people just wander off not knowing where to go once the team has two points capped.
2. It’s very risky to attempt to 3-cap with a team of pugs.
This is how teams get wiped. A brief 3 cap could easily turn up against you.
Going for that far cap works if heavy pressure is at mid and home.
3. Don’t double or multi-cap
A strong indication that the team is likely to fail is when 2 people cap home at the start.
Multi-capping is not the same as node team fights. Only 1 person is needed to cap.
4. Be map aware
In Khylo for example, there is no need for you to keep trebbing when the enemy has 3 capped due to your team being outnumbered and your teammates just wiped. Or, if you see the point you just capped is contested don’t run away especially if it was home or mid
5. Don’t bring garbage builds to ranked
You are doing yourself and the team a disfavor when you run garbage. If you soloQ, the best builds to run are sustain and some support. I personally get discouraged when teammates hp drop to red and then black in a matter of seconds.
Edit: I know this goes without saying but bring the class you are comfortable with. The ESL meta doesn’t necessarily apply in the first 3 divisions.
I, on e contrary, find that support builds are next to useless in bad teams.
You dont have the damage to kill inferior foes, you dont have anyone to support because everybody is running around like headless chicken.
In those situations, id rather have a decent soloer build, and run around capping points like crazy.
That’s the thing posts like these are trying to solve. Most people that queue run around like headless chickens because they have no clue on what to do.
Conquest is not hard to understand yet a lot of people still cant grasp it.

Seriously though, when home is capped and mid just capped, why the hell does everyone leave? Where do they go and are they driven to achieve whatever it is they are running towards?
From my experience, they run to far, end up dying coz they weren’t prepared for the encounter and failed miserably at their attempt because they are ignorant about how conquest works.

I’m not a veteran/champ Revenant and still learning the class mechanics.
I can the see tremendous advantage of Mallyx but what I don’t understand is why Shiro is favored over Glint.
What’s so good about Shiro? Is it the gap closer and quickness?
Yeah the gap closer/teleport plus quickness. Looks like you already know the upsides. The healing isn’t great but that’s the only advantage Glint has imo.
But I have a lot of non meta builds I run as well including core engie and scrapper. One scrapper build I run uses viper ammy with incendiary powder and replaced elixir gun with FT. Durability rune for the nice vitality and boon duration. I use supply crate for the 2.5 sec aoe stun and med pack tool belt.
Don’t chase one guy and leave your teammate on a large team fight at a node. That’s really stupid and annoying when people do that. Sometimes they leave you to 1v3 so they could stomp a thief.

I thought to myself, ok well the game is smart enough to know a team full of sapphires got no chance against this premade diamond & rubies right? I wouldn’t lose a pip, perhaps even gain a pip for taking it raw?
Nope, lost the game, had no chance at all. Lost a pip, and that was just the start of my losing streak. 3 hours later my 4 pips in tier 5 sapphire evaporated, and I’ve been winning 1 losing 3 ever since, going nowhere. I’ve faced pre-mades of 4-5 pro league players at least 4 times in 3 hours. Needless to say no matter how many times I’ve won, I’ve lost pips every single time against these impossible match ups so I’m flat in my tier at the moment not sure if I want to continue.
Oh queue popped, it’s the sunfish crew again, gonna afk while I post this since we aren’t gonna win.
I’d prolly do the same thing just for the sake of my dignity but some idiot from your team could have reported you for botting if you SoloQ’d. Lots of tryhard idiots out there

It’s try harding and having self esteem issues when you soloQ, face a team you are guaranteed to lose to and still run out to feed them points and get yourself farmed over and over and over and over. And then reporting your teammates when they refuse to participate in a struggle destined for you to lose to.

In EU, you wont get farmed by ROM, Helseth etc thru exploits. Car Crashed farms but if you watched Helseth’s vid, he refers to Car Crashed as part of the low-end in EU’s pro league.
In NA however….
btw, I play in both regions. Sadly my main is in NA but I enjoy playing in EU more
