No Gear Treadmill - Not Played for Two Weeks

PvP ranks, for the finisher & /rank. Effectively infinite- or at least, no one has yet gotten close to max (dragon).

That’s a good one. But I’m rank 41 and the problem is that the next one is just so far away. It’ll be nice if there were “stretch” goals you know – where the next step is far away, but not so far that you lose all hope of getting there. I mean, just going from r49 to r50 must be enough to make anyone lose hope.

I’m betting that those who reached r50 didn’t do it to reach there per se. They must have had other goals like playing with friends or whatever and got the points as a result of that.

I know it’s supposed to be a good thing – no gear treadmill etc. But after playing crazily for over a year, getting a legendary and ascended weapons I have nothing more to do and haven’t logged in for two weeks!

I wish there was something like “infinite leveling up” where I always have some newer and better goal to achieve. Always some better and stronger armor, or something like that. As things stand now I just feel like I’ve done everything.

Does anyone else feel this way?

No "Dark" Environments in Guild Wars 2

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

bhagwad.4281

I was just listening to the “Fear not this night” track and thought how awesome it would be if I was only ever…you know…afraid! But in GW2, even orr just isn’t “dark” enough. I’m not able to place my finger on why. Maybe it’s not literally dark enough, or the banter between the NPCs spoils it. But the atmosphere just isn’t creepy even though it’s packed full of risen.

Maybe because of the pact’s presence I never really feel alone. There’re always machines, bombs, and of course the meta achievement indicator makes me feel that company’s always just around the corner. But I think the environment itself is a bit too cartoonish.

Does anyone remember the Domain of Anguish (DoA) in the original guild wars? Now that was a dark place. Sometimes so dark that you literally couldn’t see anything. It was dangerous and the land belonged to your enemies. You were alone against impossible odds. And you were afraid.

Even some of the nightfall environments were like that. Pristinely demonic. Alone. No risen chickens or bantering NPCs showing no terror of what’s around them.

I want a sense of terror – of atmosphere. For some reason reason I’m just not scared of Orr even though you can die pretty easily. It’s gotta be the atmosphere.

Come on Anet. Make me fear the night!

Edit: Even the new maps like Southsun are just too “happy happy” with a “coconuts bras and bikinis” feel. Just a holiday resort. You can do better!

Require EVERYONE to Skip Cutscenes

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I find it sad that so far I have not seen even one of the cutscenes completely in any dungeon, nor heard the dialogue because all the other guys would have skipped it and I don’t want them to go on without me or I don’t want to hold them back.

I loved the system in the original guild wars where everyone had to skip the cutscene for it to proceed. That way I even got a good look at other people’s armor etc. I think guild wars 2 is seriously lacking good cutscenes and story engagement.

I like to finish dungeon runs as quickly as possible just like everyone else. But once in a while I’d just like to see the real story behind what I’m doing.

Finally - a REAL Dragon!

Story consistency is very important to me. I don’t care about “achieving something” or doing hard content just for the heck of it. But finally…FINALLY…we have a dragon who is almost impossible to take down.

This is how it should be. Maybe one of the other dragons can have fire breath that melts rocks or something. But whatever the scenario, this is a dragon we’re talking about! If we kill him once out of a hundred tries, that’s realistic.

I like it.

I like this update. I don’t care about feeling as if I’ve achieved something etc. What I care about is story consistency. A dragon should be almost impossible to defeat. It was absurd when we all used to wait for teq and just DPS him down.

Salvaging Exotics with Master/Mystic Kits?

I’ve seen a lot of research showing that we get 0.9 ectos/salvage when using Master/Mystic kits on rares above 68 and 1.25 ectos/salvage with a BL kit.

What I can’t find is research on drop rates of ectos when using a mystic salvage kit on exotics. I may be just missing it in an obvious place. I’d appreciate anyone pointing me in the right direction!

Transferring legendary to alts?

in Crafting

Posted by: bhagwad.4281

bhagwad.4281

You’d have to transmute it to a white weapon. Then that will make it account bound. Afterwards, you’d log onto your alt and use a Transmutation Splitter to split the legendary from the white. It will come out soulbound.

But will we still be able to choose the stats out of combat? And the stats themselves won’t be “legendary”. So in short, there’s no way to actually transfer the legendary itself to an alt. Only the skin.

Just because you didn’t like the skin doesn’t mean that everyone else doesn’t like it as well. Conversely, just because you like it, doesn’t mean everyone else will.

You didn’t like the ascended skin, so you transmuted it to a skin you like. Now, you’re unhappy because ‘everyone else won’t know!’ Honestly, how many people do you think care? Sure some do, but I think the majority of players probably don’t. As long you are happy with your level of stats (given what is attainable) and with the looks you chose, that’s all the truly matters, or should anyway.

No one makes a legendary weapon for themselves. It’s for others to ogle at. If you just want to keep yourself happy with gear, why play an MMO? A solo game would be better. The sole reason to play an MMO is to show off to other players. That’s the only reason why other players exist – to admire each other’s gear.

“No one” hmmm…. if you say so. I’ll count myself as ‘no one’ in a sea of ‘no ones’ based on various responses on the forums across a multitude of threads where people have stated that they don’t give a crap what others are wielding, and could care less what other think of what they are wielding. Oh sure, it’s nice to show off, but for many it’s not their sole reason for doing something.

No, the “sole reason” to play an MMO is not to show off to other players. Ok, maybe to you it is, but for everyone I know it’s not the reason. Some people play for the social aspect. Some people play just because they like the genre, you can get so much more from a MMO than from a typical solo, rpg. That’s just to name a couple of the bigger reasons, I’m sure there’s a long list, and I doubt “showing off” is at the top of it for most people.

Lol, the only reason other people exist is to admire other people’s gear. That’s a good one. I guess we’re all doing it wrong, opting to play the game. Instead we should all just hang out in LA and gawk at each other. No TP needed. No loot needed. No quests, no dungeons, no pvp, no wvw, no story at all. Hell, just drop the rest of the game completely, we’re all just here to stare at the shinies. rofl. Anet can just give us a closet with the skins and we can all play barbie.

Come, be reasonable. What’s the point of everyone having free access to all gear? Dungeons, TP, loot and quests are necessary so that not everyone can acquire the best items no?

Not if we’re only here to “show off” as you put it. If you’re only here to play barbie dress up and fashion show (which is pretty much what you boiled it down to, ie “the sole reason of playing a MMO is to show off”) then everything else is pointless. Just give everyone the armor, let them dress up and parade around to their hearts content.

Thank you for the chuckle though. That mental image was just hilarious: Project runway: Lions Arch!

You can only “show off” achievements. Not stuff that everyone has access to. Let me know if you want me to link the definition of “show off” for you.

Don't Need 400-500 Guide. Only till 450

All the guides I’ve seen so far costing around 188g (on gw2crafts.net) take you from 400 – 500. But don’t we only need to get to 450 to start refining ascended materials? I’ll get to 500 by refining t7 materials in the course of the game.

In the meantime, is there any cheap and effective guide to quickly get to 450 instead? And how much will it cost?

Still don’t understand why Anet chose to add another useless 50 levels instead of just making it 400-450 in the first place.

I crafted my Moot yesterday morning and was left with 60s and almost no ori ore or other crafting materials. Which is tragic because I had to make 500 ingots which would have taken me to 425 at least!

It’ll take me a nice long time to get the cash and ore I need to make it to 450 before I can even start the road to ascended.

Please Anet – tell me why you couldn’t just make it to 450 instead of 500? What’s the big gain by forcing people to go up 50 useless levels?

What are you suggesting? That players put someone else’s needs ahead of their own? How can you even expect something like that? I just don’t understand this style of thinking…

We’re all rational beings. It’s insane to demand that people act otherwise.

What I’m suggesting is that if a player is going to be a full tilt, selfish prick, they should just admit to it and quit trying to blame the game (or designers) for “enabling” them to be selfish. I don’t understand the current acceptance that EVERYTHING has to be some one’s fault (and those that think that way are absolutely sure it can never be their own).

I’m not saying that ANet could not make changes to alter the current behavior of selfish players, but putting the blame for selfish behavior 100% on ANet’s shoulders is what I don’t understand. The content presents a choice. It is NOT black and white. I often join in and help close portals and then later waypoint across the map to hit a Pirate event. From my observations there are a lot of other players that do the same.

I wonder if you apply this same logic to real life as well. Let’s say the government allows me to take advantage of a certain tax break that economists agree is bad for the economy – the details of why it’s bad is irrelevant.

As a rational person wanting to save money I take advantage of this tax break. Sure, I have the choice to not make use of it. But just because I save money this way means I’m a selfish prick? You tell me – who is the bad guy here. A person who makes use of the tax break or the government that created the tax break in the first place?

This is absurd. Of course we have a choice. But why would reasonable people choose to throw away money? What shocks me is that so many people actually think that people are “selfish” for doing this. As opposed to what?

P.S: If you don’t like the idea of a tax break, just think of any government policy that’s bad for the economy but benefits some people. Are those people “selfish” for making use of the benefits provided to them?

I sure hope ANet is proud of themselves for creating an event that puts players at cross purposes with each other in a large group context. It doesn’t matter where you stand on this topic … ANet is at fault here, not other players.

That attitude is 100% cop-out …. take responsibility for you own actions and expect the same from others (tho you will be hugely disappointed with them most of the time). Anet can certainly modify the content to try and change player behavior, but full out BLAMING them for player actions is absurd and laughable.

You can moderately farm and still get completion.

Exactly.

Have the champs only drop champ loot tickets that can only be retrieved from that events session after scarlet has been slain. Problem solved. But it wont happen.

It still wouldn’t work. An individual farmer still benefits from continuing to farm and letting the others run for completion if they want. Even if champ tickets are worthless when the event fails, any single player will still benefit from farming champs because their lone contribution is not going to make much difference to the success of the event.

Here’s a tip, start farming.

It goes against the spirit of the game. Playing the game is more important and should be more profitable and Anet agrees

Farming is playing the game. Champion events/Gauntlet etc is part of the game just like doing jumping puzzles, running dungeons, buying and selling on the TP and doing WvW are part of the game.

Doing the same thing over and over is not playing the game.

Every religious belief is the result of prior indoctrination/thought. No baby is born into the world with a prior understanding of either god or religion. Hence agnosticism/atheism is the null hypothesis because it is the default position to a fresh outsider.

Of course, just because something is the null hypothesis doesn’t mean it’s right. It’s just the starting position.

But let’s not get into this. My main point is that in this context, varying styles of play are all acceptable is the null hypothesis. If anyone claims otherwise (as it perfectly their right to do so), they just need to substantiate that claim and not put the burden of proof on the other person.

Your argument is akin to saying rocks are atheists because they don’t believe in anything and this is therefore the default position and the null hypothesis.

Of course they don’t. They’re rocks. They can’t. They don’t think.

If you are an atheist, you became one after considering it. You were not ‘born’ an atheist. This was not your default position.

Babies are neither capable of critical thought nor indoctrination.

People have to come of age before you can teach them anything or for them to be able to think about it for themselves what they believe.

Thinking people, the majority decide the null hypothesis, and for the longest time it’s been a religious one in every part of the world.

Atheists and other people who claim there is no God, challenge the convention and must bear the burden of proof.
_

To bring this back on topic and keep things in perspective…

Playing the game in any other way then was the intention of the creator, you must prove to the other players who may frown upon this that what you’re doing isn’t a bad thing.

Arguments can be made both ways and it’s pretty much an endless debate.

We can tango and go back and forth on this here ad nauseum, but ultimately Anet lays down the law.

Anet has a vision and they know what they want to do. That said, players do have a voice and the greater majority may well dictate the course to a certain degree.

This game was not built to be farmed. Anet didn’t sit down one day and say “Hey, let’s make GW2 the best grindy farmy kind of MMO ever!”

It was built to be played in a semi-casual kind of way. Farming is an activity people do to make money to get what they want faster then just casually playing the game.

Most people don’t care what farmers do with themselves, but if it get’s to a point where their actions can hurt the in-game economy or disrupts their personal game time (think Lyssa farm); it’s a bad thing and they do care.

Farming is kept in check by Anet, while permitted to a certain degree. Anet recognizes some players like to farm. Anet doesn’t hate farmers.

Most of their living story stuff has something nice that farmers can farm. To the point that some people are complaining!

We’ve got posts in the Queen’s Jubilee section of people complaining that they can’t do anything else except farm, because… reasons.

Or because “Anet made the Queen’s Jubilee so good that nothing else is more profitable”.

lol’…

This isn’t the place to bring up the atheism/god issue. Suffice to say I think agnosticism/atheism is the null hypothesis. The reasons are more appropriate for another place.

Coming to farming….if I’m not mistaken, Anet has publicly commented that farming is very much a part of their intended gameplay. Some people will farm. Others will not. Of course they’re concerned about making it too efficient. Hence the regular balancing. But that doesn’t mean they’re against farming as such.

Also, from a marketing point of view it would be MMO suicide to frown upon farming. Like it or not, a huge proportion of the player base (including myself) loves to farm, get better gear, and get rich even if it seems boring to others. The fact that so many people form large groups to farm champions means that lots of people like it.

Anet wants the game to make money and be successful. Even had they not said that they accept farming as part of their game, they would be absolutely dumb not to cater to us farmers. That’s why we play. And we form a large portion of the player base.

As long as we’re not exploiting something like a coding bug etc, farming is fine as far as Anet goes.

Here’s a threat in which an Anet employee responds and is obviously aware of the fact that people are farming the gauntlet. In fact, it seems they planned this and wanted us to farm the hell out of it. In the first reply he responds with a smiley instead of expressing disapproval.

Almost everything that happens in the game of GW2 is intended by Anet. A few specific instances like the cultural weapons gaffe and the snowflake exploit slip through their fingers. But something as big as farming as a whole? Totally intentional.

The null hypothesis does not need to be proved.

In other words, you know you have no basis in which to support your opinion, so you won’t even bother trying to make arguments defending it. Trying to hide behind excuses – which, coincidently, is what exploiters have been doing this entire week – has been proved to be rather ineffective.

Lol. Either you don’t understand what it means to assume a default position in a debate and require proof to the contrary, or you’re just prevaricating to cover up.

The first is fine…it’s ok not to know something. Just ask and I’ll explain. The latter is just bad form and shows you’re stuck and are trying to get out of it.

FYI, in case you truly don’t understand, this is akin to a religious person asking someone to prove the non existence of god. Whereas the burden of evidence is on the religious person to prove his/her affirmative declaration.

Just as a quick follow up to help you understand the scientific methodology, here’s a one minute video explaining what the null hypothesis means and where the burden of evidence lies: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TfNFL_xEmQ

The problem with this however, in this particular example, is that most atheists automatically assume that theirs is the null hypothesis.

Atheism is a relatively new belief. Atheism is the new thought, the challenger to the conventional understanding, not the other way around.

Any honest person will accept that the default position is one that supposes a Creator God. It falls on the atheist to prove that there is no Creator and no God.

At the risk of inciting a religious debate, I won’t go any further then to say that atheists have not achieved that goal.

It remains but an argument, an opinion. Not a matter of fact.

What is this “as intended” nonsense I keep hearing? Nothing is “intended”. It is what it is.

I have the feeling you don’t remember the other exploits in this game.

Months ago, there was a bug that made Cultural weapons be sold for a very low price. Some players quickly noticed the bug, and bought a lot of those weapons, expecting to sell them later after the price had been fixed.

They were banned from the game.

“The price was what it was”, the banned players would say, “We didn’t do nothing beyond what the game allowed us to do”.

Yet, they were banned.

A few months later, players learned that salvaging the Snowflake items could give them most of the materials back. They could salvage rare Snowflake items for a chance to get ectos, and then use the materials to make another rare item for a very low cost, effectively creating a nearly infinite, ecto-producing loop.

They were banned.

“Crafting was working as it was”, the banned players cried, “We were just doing something the game allowed us to do”.

Yet they were banned.

Exploiting means playing the game in a way that was not intended. We know for a fact that there are ways to play the game differently from how ArenaNet intended people to play. Those who abuse the game like this – the exploiters – have been banned in the past. They always make excuses claiming they weren’t doing anything wrong, but it never changed the fact that yes, they were exploiting.

And for the records, I love this quote:

It’s not an exploit. People are trying very, very hard to complete the event. But it’s too difficult.

Too difficult indeed.

…Exploiting coding errors is not in the same league. I don’t know why people are unable to understand this basic difference.

And for the final kicker, not only did Anet not ban any players for farming the gauntlet, they also said they were aware of it and had plans to manage the economic impact. In other words….it was fully working as intended.

As long as players are not making use of obvious cheats (like the snowflake and cultural weapons exploits), anything goes if it’s part of the mechanics of the game.

Ok, bye.

Right now, each map goes into multiple overflows, which means worlds get their maps filled, and the exceeding players are enough to fill many maps. Assuming two thirds of the players there are the exploiters, which is quite a high number, removing them would still leave us with at least one map full of players – the difference being that those players actually want to play the game as intended and finish the event, instead of exploiting the champions.

We don’t need exploiters. They are not helping the game. Quite the opposite – they are leeching the players who want to do the event and so happen to help them clear the waves until the pirates come.

What is this “as intended” nonsense I keep hearing? Nothing is “intended”. It is what it is.

The game designers must scratch their heads when they see this sort of thread. Are players really wanting a trivial challenge to be monotonously repeated again and again for days on end until they buy up every virtual reward in an online game, just so they can get bored and quit and make those virtual rewards entirely pointless?

Given the fact that most MMO players (including myself) are like this, I doubt if they’re scratching their heads at all. Anyone who didn’t see this coming knows nothing about how and why people play MMOs.

People do not play mmos to do the same thing over and over.

I do. And lots of people are exactly like me.

Amazing how wrong you are.

Obviously empirical observation supports my view. I have no clue on what basis you’re making your assumptions.

Killing Deadeye repeatedly earning over 20 gold an hour is excessive. As I mentioned before, look what they did with Subject 7.

And they nerfed Subject 7 yet took well over a week to nerf Deadeye. I wonder why.

Also, you once again haven’t answered my question – “What do you expect?” You really expect me to say “I’ve farmed 10g. Let me hold back and not farm 20.”

Really? Really?

They were doing it excessively and abusing what they had to have known was not intended. They nerfed Subject 7 rewards because of the farmers.

There’s no such thing as “excessively”. Again, what do you expect? That people farm it a few times and then say “Well…that’s enough”? What’s the rational basis of that kind of attitude?

Yeah it’s pretty much the farmers that are to blame. They nerfed Subject 7 because of the farming and they just went on to the next easiest boss.

You expect what? That people not farm?

From the perspective of a farmer how does it matter if something is hurting the economy or not? If you don’t like the example of a tax break, take any governmental measure that benefits someone but can be bad for the economy. Are the beneficiaries supposed to just throw their hands up and say “I won’t make use of this awesome benefit because it’s not good for the country”?

In economics, every person acts for their own benefit. Not the “greater good”. Expecting otherwise is just setting yourself up for failure and it’s stupid.

I’m kinda confused at what you’re trying to say. Read my posts, I don’t fault farmers for taking advantage. However, any “farming” that produces gold has potential to damage the economy, which is why these forms of farms must be carefully regulated.

lol because buying lots of products and keeping them in order to inflate the price is not manipulation or slowly raising the max price of the item .

Will buying up lots of products increase prices a bit? Probably. Is the price increase due to your actions significant enough to overcome the 15% tax? Definitely not.

I’ve never had a problem with Anet nerfing things. I haven’t mentioned that in my post at all. In fact, I support their decisions to cut off gold faucets.

Having said that I will farm the hell out of any scenario that gets me the most gold for minimum activity and that’s what people should expect. Because it’s reasonable to think that people will do this. My problem with those blaming farmers for farming.

Who do you think drive prices high the most?TP traders.

TP flippers don’t drive prices up or down, only to the equilibrium (between buy/sell orders.)

2. Whether or not the tax break injects money or not is irrelevant. The point is that we’re being offered a benefit. And we’re making use of it. To blame farmers or to imply that they’re not doing the right thing by farming is absurd.

It’s relevant because a tax break doesn’t negatively impact the economy (in terms of currency creation, anyways) whereas allowing players to print money does.

I’m saying that’s Anet’s problem. It’s unreasonable to ask people to give up benefiting themselves because “it’s bad for the economy”. See tax break example in my original post.

Of course it’s Anet’s problem in handing out too many ways for users to print money (your tax break example is bad. A tax break is akin to reducing gold sinks, but what we’re seeing is a dramatic increase in gold faucets). Which is why they’re completely justified in nerfing these farms.

lol if you want to talk about who screws the rest of the playerbase, check the big TP traders, since they touch the economy way more than farmers

TP traders don’t actually introduce gold into the economy.

When farmers create a ton of gold and inject it into the economy, it causes inflation and screws over the rest of the playerbase which doesn’t farm.

Whether this effect is substantial or not is unclear. However, there is absolutely no denying that farming (specifically, the type that creates gold, i.e Deadeye and CoF) has the potential to harm the economy.

I’m saying that’s Anet’s problem. It’s unreasonable to ask people to give up benefiting themselves because “it’s bad for the economy”. See tax break example in my original post.

A lot of threads recently in both the Queen’s speech update as well as the gauntlet update have been complaints about farmers. Basically:

1. Farmers spoil the fun for others!
2. Farmers spoil the economy!
3. You should play for fun not gold! (As if getting gold isn’t fun)
4. Farmers force others to farm since they’ll be left out
5. Insert favorite complaints here….

What people don’t seem to understand is that for a lot of us, getting gold, gearing up, getting minipets, buying skins and armor to show off etc is fun. It’s why we play the game. For some people fun can be running around with friends. Others (like me) don’t care about friends and exploring etc, but just want to get better gear, weapons and show off.

Different ways to play the game.

Also, asking farmers to forbear from farming because it “spoils the economy” is absurd. That’s like the government offering you a tax break which you deliberately don’t take advantage of because “it’s not good for the economy”. Please understand that a basic premise in economics is that everyone acts in their own self interest. It’s ridiculous to exhort others to hold off getting easy gold (like in the gauntlet). As long as it’s not an exploit that the developers didn’t intend.

Finally, farming is not an exploit. To take the latest example, Anet was fully aware of gauntlet farming and took their own sweet time in making changes. It’s not like a programming bug or something that was clearly not intended by the developers.

Farming is a logical respectable activity. It’s fully as important as the righteous people running around claiming that they play “just for fun”. Good for you. And some people play to farm.

Thank you.

Why is it, the moment I learn of a way to make gold, on my trip to get my precursor… It gets nerfed!

“Finally time to start running COF P1!”
NEEERRFFED
“Time to zerg around and farm champion centaurs!”
NEEERRRFFFEEED
“Time to kill Deadeye!”
NEEEERRFED!

I just want to cry…

And yet, I read:

“Time to flood the economy with gold!”
NERFED!
“Time to flood the economy with gold!”
NERFED!
“Time to flood the economy with gold!”
NERFED!

I see a pattern there. Do you see the pattern? ANet does. That’s why they keep nerfing the farms. Figure it out, stop exploiting the game, and maybe they’ll stop nerfing the content. Otherwise you have no one to blame but yourself when they end up nerfing GW2 into WoW.

Did it occur to you that Anet wants people to farm and only nerf it after a while as part of a carefully planned time line?

I don’t think you understand what “exploit” means. Why the hell should I care about “the economy”? If the government gives you a tax break do you deliberately not take advantage of it because it might be “bad for the economy”?

We’re all selfish. And that’s a good thing.

All we’re doing is playing a game.

The snowflake exploiters used very similar arguments, eight months ago.

ArenaNet intended for players to try to complete the dynamic events. Intentionally failing or stalling an event in order to farm, while being detrimental to other players, is playing the game in a way that has not been intended. Ergo, exploit.

I haven’t seen a single exploiter actually admiting he/she was exploiting. I do love some of the excuses they bring up, though.

It’s bad game design.
And it’s not like this is the first time it’s happening. There have been plenty of events in the past that were more rewarding to stall than to finish. All they need to do to fix this is to make a finite amount of mobs spawn. There, problem gone.
And well, you can blame the players all you want, but in the end it’s ArenaNet who’s designing these events. It’s them who make these events in such ways that they’re more rewarding to stall them than to finish them.

The same logic can be used for people killing others with a gun. Don’t blame me for killing people, blame the people that make guns. It’s called taking responsibility for ones actions.

Only those that “exploit” feel the need to constantly justify their actions. Those that don’t have no need for that.

What? This is a video game with no real world consequences. Hence comparing this with guns and killing = false analogy.

In any case the analogy fails hard because when you shoot someone with a gun you’re actually violating someone’s right to live their life, breaking their body and their property.

This example on the other hand is nothing but the tragedy of the commons. The prisoner’s dilemma. It’s only rational to expect people to act in their own self interests.

Scarlet is not smexy.

At the end of the playhouse mission, Scarlet says something like “You should be happy”. And then she goes quiet all of a sudden and says very seriously “No: you should be happy” in a very regretful reminiscing way.

Then suddenly she snaps out of it and says “So…be happy!”. But it seemed that just for a moment, Scarlet was remembering some sad incident or time in her past. Her childhood maybe when she was happy and carefree…and then something happened to her to strip that away?

Yeah yeah, I’m reading way too much into this. But what the hell right?

Edit: Well apparently sylvari don’t have “childhoods”. I still wonder if she was “born” like this right from the start, or did something happen to her to make it so…

Here’s a tip, stop farming.

Tip for what? Why would anyone not farm?

Here’s a tip, start farming.

It goes against the spirit of the game. Playing the game is more important and should be more profitable and Anet agrees

Anet deliberately took their time to nerf the gauntlet. They were well aware of what was happening. And there’s no “spirit of the game”. Each to his own.
