No thanks, I like the added bonus of having objectives and siege. It’s so much better when it’s not JUST about players fighting. That extra element of ‘objectives’ and siege make it that much more fun, interesting and challenging.

Only the hardcore GvGers want to play without siege. Its not about removing siege its about making it not be overpowering against players. Like I said above RvR gameplay is about sieging objectives then fighting once the objective is breached.

They complain about siege in towers because they are not really hardcore GvG’ers but k-trainers in disguise that want to take easy objectives..

I think you’re talking at cross purposes to what I said, hardcore gvgers fight open field only and I’m not sure any exist any more in WvW. Complaining about overwhelming siege doesn’t necessarily mean they want a k train but rather a fight over the objective.

You can fight over the objectives by taking out the siege first. I never get the complaints about siege since as far as I can see every server uses it. Some just do it better than others. There are ways to counter it but most would rather just not deal with it..

To bring PvE’rs into WvW, you need to make it worth their while… REWARDS.
I really don’t think they are going to spend the time and resources to fix this game mode to appease the few that remain.
You may not like that vision but that is the bridge I see which lies ahead and we must either cross it or turn around.

There is one big flaw in this idea of bringing PvE players into WvW. PvE players do not spend their money and buy gold every month injecting the game with a constant flow of $ to help them pay for upgrades to the game since they earn everything they need in the game instead. Changing the game to appease PvE players does not increase the money coming into the game to keep the servers open, instead it removes the players who do spend the money currently to pay for their PvE content from the game and the game will in the end be worse off financially. Removing players from the game who spend $ and replacing them with players who do not is not a sound business decision.
From my understanding, this is already becoming an issue financially.

No, they couldn’t pay me enough to work for them. When I hear from my friends that do it isn’t the cakewalk people tend to think it is.

Give it a break.. Something is coming. You can either wait and see what it is or continue to embarrass yourself by constantly complaining because we are not getting it today..

Waiting is the one thing players should not do right now because if Anet goes forward with their plans " the something" will be what makes the rest of those " waiting" leave. You may be fine with an EoTM Hot WvW replacement, but the ones leaving are not..
The numbers speak for themselves, however the players need to tell them WHY this is happening.

If you are happy with the EoTM HoT nonsense great, you tell them that, just don’t complain because others are not and are letting them know. It is not your " job" to tell me or anyone else what they should and should not tell Anet.

Waiting is something players should not do? Yea ok.. keep nagging like an annoying bf/gf that won’t give you space when you need it. Even when you constantly complain it isn’t coming till it is ready. I also wish they would tell us more info but you know what? They aren’t and constantly complaining right now when we know something is coming is doing nothing but making the wvw community look sad. We thought we had to wait till end of year just for the beta but now that has changed.

I already gave my feedback about what I didn’t like about the new maps which probably got over looked due to the constant complaints.. Now its up to them to listen. If they don’t oh well I’ll adapt like I have with every change we have gotten so far. I don’t need to say the same thing in multiple threads over and over again like a lot of you are doing. Once is enough. Anyway. Been nice chatting with you. I actually have more fun chatting with swagger about EoTM..

They are about the same IMO although I have gotten further in ruby this season but I did stop grinding last season mid ruby and just went back to wvw. What I have been doing is log in to do the 3 daily wins for my achievements.. If I’m on a win streak after my 3 wins, I keep playing. If I start to go on a losing streak I stop playing.. Moved up 3 tiers in ruby in the last 2 days and it took me 3 days to move out of 1 tier in sapphire when all I was doing was grinding for wins. Still wish they code something for class stacking though lol too many matches against 3 – 4 of same class..

Until I see real meaningful changes, this is just Anet pandering to players because a massive new triple A MMO just launched.

Hope you are not talking about that grind pve for endless hours just to pvp game. That game where you get penalties for PK’ing people and have to grind more to reduce it. That game that probably has more to do in PVE than PVP. That game where the high level gear grinders with always be better than you..

Maybe dumb question but why not here on official forum? I am sure you wait for that question.

The formatting on reddit makes an AMA work better in that system. No preference, just a matter of functionality for this sort of short-term project.

It makes sense and tbh after reading the thread it sort of makes sense why they don’t post here much.. A few that stand out for me is the reddit users seem to be more nice lol these forums seem to only be filled with the people that complain.

I can’t really say anything that I like about wvw here because when I do, I’m swarmed by a bunch of people that hate the game. I’m sure some people don’t even come to the official forums because at first glance it just looks like a place to complain and argue with each other.

I reread the AMA again.. We will all get into the beta as it will be on live servers. This is a good thing as that was something I said should be done when that one thread popped up about certain guilds were invited to test the new stuff out.

I suggest some of you practice giving constructive feedback though. You still have quite a bit of time to do the practicing. This looks like a step in the right direction and it may be our only chance to actually get some of the changes we want. Also you have to think about every single type of player that plays instead of just what you want and your play style.

I said a lot yesterday and that may have been because I drank a doubled sized redbull and I haven’t had any caffeine in a very long time :P I was pretty wired LOL I’m going to go for now and just wait as not much more I can say that already hasn’t been said but I just hope that some of you can forget about the past and try to move on into the future.

So where do you fight 40 vs 40 with battlefield formations, flank squads, focused guild raid builds and party compositions for different strategies at then? Oh yea.. that is what a large scale PvP game mode such as RvR is supposed to be for.

Actually, thats a sure-fire way to waste your money. Wait for a game to make it past release for 1-3 months… then join if it still looks good and hypetrain didnt totally trash it.

Which is probably why this thread was posted. Not to get upcoming games that might be good, but to get names of established good pvp games to look at.

Read the person I quoted question.. I agree with you but really was only commenting on where do you find out about new/other games. I search the internet for them and keep my eye on the ones that catch my attention.

The EotM Server mechanic is a disaster. PERIOD.

If they try to use it for actual WvW, they will kill WvW (as if they haven’t done it with negligence).

Also, why doesn’t A.Net actually ASK the guilds that play WvW what they want and need and have them test what ideas they have, not big, multi-server PvE guilds. If they continue this way, they will lose ALL of the WvW population.

You don’t see anyone complaning about population issues or capping at off peak hours… so that pvp game mode is doing a pretty good job, it’s pretty popular too.

And if you want to talk about loot or karma… Players can go to silver wastes and get 10x the amount of stuff in the same amount of time.

Oh you don’t see any complaints about EoTM populations? Everyone knows if you are green you have a better chance to win your 3 hour matches. Its been complained about many times on these forums. How can you complain about night capping when matches are 3 hours long? Nice try though.

Eotm mechanics resolve some big issues, there is no arguing that. Y’all should start embracing great mechanics like these.

Yet some maps seem to complain about a lot of other things.. Main complaint I usually see is after a wipe happens. People complain about dying. I’ve been in maps where commanders ask what do people want to do and the majority usually always pick k-training. The thing is, it is either get farmed or be the ones farming. If you are the ones being farmed you can just leave and try to get onto another instance that does the farming.

We always seem to always end up saying the same things to each other over and over lol Long as you have fun then feel free to continue to play it.. Only fear I have is the fun of working together as a server will be gone if something like this does ever come into play.

The guild I am in used to always run world boss trains in PVE every single daily reset for a few years. PVE megaserver killed that for some and they actually no longer play anymore. I used to just do world bosses because my guild use to do them but when megaserver came into play and we all started ended up on different maps, I lost interest in that too.

You can’t blame me for having a fear of the word megaserver because from what I’ve seen it only hides the problem but created a few more.. Apparently they are still having problems with megaserver in HoT maps so even after having it for a while there are still problems with it..

Let it go already. That was 2 years ago and anet gave a reply basically saying they were wrong and was sorry for what happened.

This should have been the end of that topic because it was said by a dev:

“Simply put a big mistake was made by one of our employees, for which he is both very upset and sorry. He allowed his personal feelings to affect his interactions in-game whilst representing ArenaNet, and this is absolutely unacceptable.”

But no!!! Even after 2 years and an apology it is still brought up. You only hear the part where the dev says players were violating the game mode.. You never hear the part where anet came in and apologized.

2 years ago I was having a 3 vs 3 against some enemies. All of the sudden the 3rd servers zerg came and wiped all 6 of us. They even spammed emotes on us and tossed siege on my body. Talk about being violated.

I know you keep cutting out little paragraphs for yourself for your own little argument which is why I’m going to ask you to re-read the first paragraph of what I originally said because the point seems to be completely lost on you, hopefully you have heard the expression “don’t get dragged down to their level, they will only beat you with experience” and will understand why I won’t be replying to our “discussion” any longer.

Also good edit on your other post to again bring up something from the past that was said and it turns out that that statement was more true than false.. When HoT launched WvW was empty because most players were in PVE-land doing the new PVE stuff.

The 5 “I only play wvw” players were only ones in wvw wondering where all the other I only wvw players were at..

Not sure what the OP is talking about. According to the announcements, they’re on exactly the same path they were on before this new hype train.

One example shows it all: Their intention is still to put in all the failed features of HoT into the Alpine BL.

Might want to give better feedback before calling everything a failure. This is the problem with many of the threads. Some of you complain yet never actually give a solution on what you are complaining about. I don’t care about the past feedback as its pretty clear to me now that they are trying to listen. As far as I can see you saw nothing good from HoT because to you everything is a failure. Here I’m going to show you how to do it.

What I’d like to see removed/changed about the new map are the barriers, pop up walls and whatever applies cripple to me when no players are not around. Things like these only make it harder to move around the maps. Too many high places to fall from which again make it harder to move around the maps. Maps are a little too big as there are places I’ve haven’t even been to because there are no reason to even go there. Middle event either needs to be removed or changed into something else as it favors the larger servers mostly. Can’t think of anything else off top..

Absolutely nothing you just suggested hasn’t been suggested 1000 times before in here. It has been proven time and again that giving suggestions to Anet is a complete waste of time. You may be fooled again and again and again and again by their empty promises of “listening” not everyone is so easily deceived.

The difference is before we were ignored and you know what they have already changed some things since HoT that were suggested by players so in a way they started to listen more after HoT came into play. Maybe we will be ignored again but to me after reading that thread it seems they are aware they messed up and want to make wvw better now. Like I said in another post, please forget about all the past ONE last time and try to provide feedback on what you would like changed. Sticking around complaining and providing nothing but complaints gets us nothing. If you can’t at least do that one more time and see if they actually listen this time then feel free to continue to provide nothing. To me it seems you are no longer having fun so you are doing what ever you can to make it not fun for anyone.

The EotM server mechanic is a mistake – period. I doesn’t give good fights, when you blob v blob with uplevels that die so quickly and are clueless to their surroundings.

It would do some good as they are crutches. As soon as a keep is T3, unless the server holding the keep is not on, you can hold the keep indefinitely against anyone. That is not fights, that is just lazy development.

You blob vs blob in wvw too lol… There are as many equally inexperienced players in wvw…

The differences are that wvw has more running time, less fighting and it’s easier to treb structures from safety.

The eotm map layout is superior in design and forces more fights to happen in the open due to less structures to hide in. Also, the tunnel system allows groups traverse the map better, attack objectives faster and for defenders to make it in time to defend objectives.

There are many aspects of eotm that would make wvw far more enjoyable if applied like megaservers to resolve population issues, timed matches so it squashes the day vs night issues, the supply systems, supply at spawn when keep is taken, fun stuff like wisps and scorps, less structures to hide in so it promotes fighting and tunnels to use as mentioned…

Overall eotm is better for players looking for fights and faster paced gameplay. WvW is boring as all get out by comparison.

Not every tier is blob vs blob.. You know why people leave the higher tiers to move towards the middle or lower tiers? Because it is harder to roam and get into more small scale fights being up top. Some prefer this over having map queues and massive fights. It is fine that you enjoy EoTM but can you please stop trying to force that upon all of us? That is your opinion and I’ve done EoTM leveling alts and what I see and what you claim it is, is way off.

Even if I was to go in it today, it would be easy kills because most players are uplevels. Last time this topic came up I went into EoTM to see if it changed and it didn’t. I roamed and killed groups of 3 – 4 that were trying to get back to the zergs by myself because half of them were uplevels and were probably running pve builds.. You either get on a good map or you have to keep trying to get on a good map.. You get on maps where you are just farmed or you do the farming. You get on maps where people just want to k-train instead of fighting.. You get on maps where if you die players rage because they got killed in a pvp environment.

Sorry but I don’t see any of that in WvW. We die, we suck it up and we go back to fight again. If I want to run around taking things, I’ll follow the pug commander. If I want to roam and try to take camps to bring out other roamers, I roam. If I want to find some friendly duels, I look at the spots where most people duel at. EoTM has 1 play style and that is to follow 1 tag.. WvW has them all.

Either way if you like EoTM go play EoTM. Stop trying to turn WvW into that.

You have a very limited view of eotm and the great potential some of the elements found there would improve wvw.

Improve it for some but make it worse for others. What great elements does EoTM map have? The falling to your death just by looking at the map when you auto run? The tunnels you can run into to run away from fights? The scorpions that are moving siege? The wisps that make you not take damage while in wisp form and you can explode them and knock players off edges???

I didn’t see anything in your previous posts that would improve wvw for EVERYONE besides not being able to treb objectives from another which they gave us in the new maps but went overboard lol You mentioned EoTM map elements. I just listed a bunch of them from EoTM that would not improve the game mode but would add more gimmicks that so many wvw’ers seem to dislike. Funny how you write a lot when you want to turn WvW into EoTM but when others reply to you with counter arguments you have little to nothing to say and basically blow it off.

Either way I didn’t want to go back and forth with you but every time EoTM pops up you are the first one pushing for it saying the same exact thing you’ve said even when others constantly try to tell you that it could possibly destroy wvw as we know it. You are happy with EoTM so play EoTM. I don’t like EoTM so I don’t go there. Maybe since I don’t like EoTM I should try to get it changed into WvW since that is what I prefer?? That is basically what you are doing..

Your problem is that you don’t play in eotm so you don’t look at mechanics and things objectively.

You asked what great elements does eotm have and I already answered those.

You embellish things like the “falling off and being knock off the edge” thing…

It’s easier to run from fights in wvw with all the structures to hide in, it happens all the time. Tunnels in eotm work many ways… Quicker travel for offense and to get to objectives faster to defend. Again, it’s easier to run and hide from a fight in wvw…

So what if scorps are mobile seige, they are also fun.

Wisps have a timer and are also a fun tactic. Again, you embellish the knock back on wisp abilities. Players don’t fight near the edges and there are very few spots where this could happen.

When I have talked about eotm I mostly refer to the player pooling mechanics to fix population issues. Since you have been following my posts in this section so closely then you should have understood that from a long time ago.

The individual server vs individual server vs individual server design doesn’t work obviously. Common sense tells me that an alliance/megaserver system would resolve that major issue across the entire game.

Also, if you don’t go to eotm, then you should spend some time there before you criticize it, the players who go there or my posts.

I read nothing you said except the first line where you stated I don’t play in EoTM. Did you hack my pc and spy on me?? I clearly said I’ve leveled tons of alts there. I’ve even went there to k-train when elite specs came out because it was faster to k-train there. I don’t go there much because it is nothing but up-levels and easy kills. Simple as that. You like EoTM because you do not like to be challenge by experienced players. You like to run around and not care about anything besides the amount of loot that fills your bags. You’d rather farm easy kills and rack up on your champ lord boxes. When I go into EoTM I come out with more champ boxes than heavy loot bags. When I wvw, I come out with more loot bags than champ boxes.

Reason why I keep disagreeing with you is because you ALREADY HAVE EOTM but WANT TO TURN WVW INTO THAT TOO

Not sure what the OP is talking about. According to the announcements, they’re on exactly the same path they were on before this new hype train.

One example shows it all: Their intention is still to put in all the failed features of HoT into the Alpine BL.

Might want to give better feedback before calling everything a failure. This is the problem with many of the threads. Some of you complain yet never actually give a solution on what you are complaining about. I don’t care about the past feedback as its pretty clear to me now that they are trying to listen. As far as I can see you saw nothing good from HoT because to you everything is a failure. Here I’m going to show you how to do it.

What I’d like to see removed/changed about the new map are the barriers, pop up walls and whatever applies cripple to me when no players are not around. Things like these only make it harder to move around the maps. Too many high places to fall from which again make it harder to move around the maps. Maps are a little too big as there are places I’ve haven’t even been to because there are no reason to even go there. Middle event either needs to be removed or changed into something else as it favors the larger servers mostly. Can’t think of anything else off top..

and was wvw not suppose to be the priority after HoT? or did they say the shatterer was the priority after HoT, i can’t remember?
If april was projected to be the actual test, would they not have concrete plans in place for March that are actually mentioned?

April is better news than we got from that one stream.. Before that comment the word was beta for overhaul would start at the end of this year.

Now I know they said after HoT they would focus on WvW more but to me HoT was never even finished when released :P

It would do some good as they are crutches. As soon as a keep is T3, unless the server holding the keep is not on, you can hold the keep indefinitely against anyone. That is not fights, that is just lazy development.

You blob vs blob in wvw too lol… There are as many equally inexperienced players in wvw…

The differences are that wvw has more running time, less fighting and it’s easier to treb structures from safety.

The eotm map layout is superior in design and forces more fights to happen in the open due to less structures to hide in. Also, the tunnel system allows groups traverse the map better, attack objectives faster and for defenders to make it in time to defend objectives.

There are many aspects of eotm that would make wvw far more enjoyable if applied like megaservers to resolve population issues, timed matches so it squashes the day vs night issues, the supply systems, supply at spawn when keep is taken, fun stuff like wisps and scorps, less structures to hide in so it promotes fighting and tunnels to use as mentioned…

Overall eotm is better for players looking for fights and faster paced gameplay. WvW is boring as all get out by comparison.

Not every tier is blob vs blob.. You know why people leave the higher tiers to move towards the middle or lower tiers? Because it is harder to roam and get into more small scale fights being up top. Some prefer this over having map queues and massive fights. It is fine that you enjoy EoTM but can you please stop trying to force that upon all of us? That is your opinion and I’ve done EoTM leveling alts and what I see and what you claim it is, is way off.

Even if I was to go in it today, it would be easy kills because most players are uplevels. Last time this topic came up I went into EoTM to see if it changed and it didn’t. I roamed and killed groups of 3 – 4 that were trying to get back to the zergs by myself because half of them were uplevels and were probably running pve builds.. You either get on a good map or you have to keep trying to get on a good map.. You get on maps where you are just farmed or you do the farming. You get on maps where people just want to k-train instead of fighting.. You get on maps where if you die players rage because they got killed in a pvp environment.

Sorry but I don’t see any of that in WvW. We die, we suck it up and we go back to fight again. If I want to run around taking things, I’ll follow the pug commander. If I want to roam and try to take camps to bring out other roamers, I roam. If I want to find some friendly duels, I look at the spots where most people duel at. EoTM has 1 play style and that is to follow 1 tag.. WvW has them all.

Either way if you like EoTM go play EoTM. Stop trying to turn WvW into that.

Not every tier had or has the population to blob vs blob.

You have a very limited view of eotm and the great potential some of the elements found there would improve wvw.

Improve it for some but make it worse for others. What great elements does EoTM map have? The falling to your death just by looking at the map when you auto run? The tunnels you can run into to run away from fights? The super laser thing? The scorpions that are moving siege? The bridges you can destroy? The wisps that make you not take damage while in wisp form and you can explode them and knock players off edges??? The turning into PVE mobs? They buying of something that calls an aoe airstrike??

such great elements for players that want to fight..

The EotM Server mechanic is a disaster. PERIOD.

If they try to use it for actual WvW, they will kill WvW (as if they haven’t done it with negligence).

Also, why doesn’t A.Net actually ASK the guilds that play WvW what they want and need and have them test what ideas they have, not big, multi-server PvE guilds. If they continue this way, they will lose ALL of the WvW population.

Some wvw guilds play different then other wvw guilds. You have ppt guilds, fight guilds, gank guilds, roaming guilds and havoc guilds. Me for example, have always been in a very large more PVE focused guild. It is more casual then anything but the majority of my play time is in WvW. I stick around in the guild because the players are nice and there is little to no drama.

I never wanted to join WvW guilds because some of them have elitist that try to be better than the guilds on their own server which leads to guild drama which leads to mass transfers.. The large PvX guilds are the ones that stick around through thick and thin. On my old server, I lost count of how many WvW guilds left the game, disband or transferred but you know who is still around? Those large PvX guilds.

Asking just wvw guilds is not the answer either as I have over 9k hours and over 4.5k rank and I did it all in a PvX guild. So if they just ask wvw guilds what they want I guess my feedback means nothing since I’m not in a wvw guild yet spend most of my time in wvw..

Oh and I don’t want EoTM/megaserver wvw either :P

If anything we know they read this part of the forums now Some still think they don’t read this section. Its going to come down to who they choose to listen to this time. I’ve seen lots of crazy ideas pop-up over the years and IMO they took some of them ideas and put them into the new BL. Those ideas came from the minority if you ask me but in a way sometimes I don’t even agree with the majority of the complaints since most have kitten kitten kitten 3 years kitten kitten in them..

We all have our own vision of how WvW should be and need to come up with some good feedback that fixes it for everyone. Not just one persons play style. Let go of the past and at least try to be more positive, at least one more time just try it! This may be our only chance to actually get what we want. With all the negativity and the dwelling over past tbh that doesn’t help us one bit. I know people have gave feedback over the past years and have been ignored but please try to give it again. They may just listen but its hard to listen when every post seems to be a hate on anet..

Also let’s not forget that guilds fighting other guilds in WvW was a violation of their game mode, I’m not exactly sure how excited I am meant to feel for WvW if a group of people fighting another group of people in a mass PvP zone is not encouraged but rather discriminated against.

Let it go already. That was 2 years ago and anet gave a reply basically saying they were wrong and was sorry for what happened.

This should have been the end of that topic because it was said by a dev:

“Simply put a big mistake was made by one of our employees, for which he is both very upset and sorry. He allowed his personal feelings to affect his interactions in-game whilst representing ArenaNet, and this is absolutely unacceptable.”

But no!!! Even after 2 years and an apology it is still brought up. You only hear the part where the dev says players were violating the game mode.. You never hear the part where anet came in and apologized.

We still intend to eventually bring back the Alpine Borderlands map, but it’s not as simple as just toggling it back on. We don’t have the tech for rotating between the two borderlands built yet, and the map itself required a significant amount of content updates to support all of the features that were added to WvW as part of the HoT update.

LOL!!! So they want to spend valuable dev time adding to the old BL all the awful mechanics they introduced into HoT? Talk about having zero clue.

Pretty sure they are talking about all the changes to upgrades, tactics, shrines and guild claiming.. Not silly stuff like barriers, pop up walls, oasis events and all the other things we dislike. I think the upgrade change was a good change and tactics don’t bother me one bit.

I said in past that I doubt they made any of those changes to the old maps and that is the reason why they can’t just “put them back” like so many people seem to think they can do with a flip of a button.

They stated they would bring them back and to me that meant they would work on it after they gave us the new map. With the amount of feedback after HoT dropped on the new map it looks like they scrapped the whole thing and now are trying to listen more and actually do something about it this time before changing the old map and then having to change it again when the forums rage because its not what some wanted..

If you actually think they coded all that stuff into the old maps, can flip a switch to bring it back and also flip a switch that magically brings back the population too well you have zero clue

I read all of that thread and just hope they follow through and keep communicating. Unlike many I think they can but people need to let go of the past and try to move on into the future.. If you actually think it will never get better you will never see anything we get as being better.

also I said a lot and it all wasn’t all directed at you lol its just a general statement about all the QQ’ing I see going on in the forums and how many times old things that devs said are brought back up. I’ve said some stupid things on these forums but over time I change my mind and views on things. I’m only human and make mistakes..

Why not come to T1 NA servers where the game is balanced in the sense that all servers have the same or similar pops at night.

So ditch your eu servers and come on down!

No thank you, the hand holding between two of the servers against the third is so embarrassing that any EU player would reject such thing and leave the servers letting them die out. Each time i join my NA account and see this it just sickens me and i am so happy i am in EU with my main account.

EU might have issues with night capping but we don’t handhold in the way you guys do and we do also have different matchups each week, which means we don’t meet the same server over and over.

it is embarrassing.. embarrassing for them because even when they hold hands they just give us bag after bag

just had a comeback after being down 100 points on the forest map.. somehow we won by 3 capping and killing both beast after wiping the other team. if this was an option we would have probably resigned and lost..

There’s a difference in being a 100 points behind when your opponents are at ~300-400, and being a 100 points behind when your opponents are at 100. In second case, don’t expect any miraculous reversal unless someone disconnects (and likely not even then).

We were down 100 points if not more for quite a bit of time. Had a very bad start. I thought game was lost tbh. Somehow a miracle happened

Just saying that some may rather resign instead of even trying to comeback. If it is a vote system that each player has to vote on, I don’t see those that pick resign actually trying to comeback if the vote doesn’t go there way.

Oh well, just my thoughts on it. Some matches are blowouts and even I wish I could just end them sooner somehow lol

This is a way to turn this off. It is under the chat window. In the left corner click the main tab and you will get a drop down window. Go to the game messages tab and uncheck wvw and the capture messages should stop popping up

They’re asking about the kitten big pop up message on the screen.

Did you test what this guy said?? NO you didn’t.. Unchecking the check box like he said removes the popup message off of the screen.

Should thank him instead of being a skritt and posting a kitten reply.

I cant remember that wp’s was 100 % contested before HoT? It was always like 1-3 seconds you actually could use the WP and bomb the enemies, nowadays its contested….then contested again without able to port.

That was changed. You can no longer wp in-between defense timers. Emergency wp’s are the answer for that change..

Just saying: Going back to before HoT would be a huge improvement.

solo’ing towers would mean you have to break the walls/gate down.. 1 person tapping something every few minutes is not the same. anyways i’m done. even when I agree with problems people still want to go back and forth with me.

You said “that one person can’t contest it” – I think you get that this can’t be solved that easily.

omg .. can you think for a minute.. just 1 minute.. I’m talking about tappers that run away and come back to tap again when timer expires. No troll tapper sticks around to be caught. I’m not talking about 1 person using a cata to break walls down which should contest the objective because they are actually doing damage to it.

you know what it can be done easier if people think about it some.. remove the long timer if no damage is being done to the objective.. no need to wait a few minutes for wp to open up when 1 person tapped something and ran away. I’m sure someone can point out how that suggestion is a bad idea but until someone comes up with a better suggestion I’d like to see this happen..

Did you end the match? If not then i think you loose a pip annyway.
If you are teamed up with the DC then you also loose a pip.

You should not loose a pip if you played the match till end + are not in the DC´s premade team.

Someone just got mad the last I match I played and quit. Told us to eff off before dc’ing. I stayed till the end. I wasn’t in their team yet lost a pip. It was a blowout to begin with but I still lost a pip. Maybe has something to do with score and time they DC? It was a 5 – 500 game in t4 of sapphire.

Even before HoT it was easy with a class that used stealth. When I trolled keeps I mostly did it on mesmer. I’d run up to gate and use blurred frenzy, stealth to get npcs off me and then run away. Any class could actually do it as it only took smacking the gate. I used to even see players yolo over and over just to keep something contested. Those players stayed attacking a gate until they died only to run back and do it again. I swore they were bots lol but they weren’t.

Yes, so? That wasn’t my point.
My point: WPs don’t open up anymore like they used to = someone tapping a keep is much worse nowadays.
You only need to fight a guard near the tower or being hit by one to contest it.
Mobs can do the same and are doing so in ~75% of all cases.

If that were changed back you’d have a bigger chance to catch the troll.
Now’s the question if doing a certain amount of damage to a gate to contest anything would be a better or worse change, probably worse as how it is now (always has been) even building rams contests a tower, if a certain amount of damage has to be dealt the swords might pop up too late.

When I read team chat there is always someone trash talking others

I win more matches when players just play and not talk much because they just know what to do.. I seem to lose matches more when people call where they are going at first lol Its like they think if they call a spot first its not their fault ever when we lose.

Agree about communicating but be nice when you communicate. Too many trash talkers if you ask me and the league brought them out even more.

the most ironic part of the thing that needs most fixing in wvw, is that it can be instantly addressed by players with simply moving to servers and balancing them out / spreading out the population……but nooOOoo, the “Top” pros went to the most populated servers and blamed the imbalance on anet. lol

If only more players thought like this. Some have strong NA and others are strong outside of NA. Combine those 2 and that would create a pretty balanced server.. Its pretty obvious some want to take easy objectives because the forums have complaints about siege, airship strikes and anything else that make it harder to take objectives

Easiest would be to at least roll it back to how it has been before HoT: An enemy has to knock on the door or otherwise damage the objective for swords to pop up – and as far as I remember it took quite a bit to contest anything back in the day, but then again; I never really did it.
Mobs triggering swords by fighting with guards is ridiculous but that’s what is happening – so in most cases the enemies don’t even have to contest any WPs, the PvE does that for them.

I think you might want to read this stuff again and understand what is being discussed.

I’m pretty sure you should take the time to read the 6 words I typed. If you have someone tapping your keep kill them. If they come back kill them again, eventually they get tired of it. If you can’t do it just send a engineer to do it for you.

you must not understand how swords work.. it is not instant.. as a mesmer you can stealth, tap objective, blink away and stealth again. by the time the swords show up you are not even at the objective anymore. i’ve trolled keeps when i was bored for hours on end just to annoy the other servers. plus you kill them and they come right back to annoy you some more.

any keep tapper that stays around tapping a gate to get killed is doing it wrong..

Masteries are for pve only. Last I recall they were looking at a way to add auto loot into wvw.. My guess is it will come with the overhaul as if they try to make any changes to current wvw it will probably break something else. Took them 4 months to remove drakes that were contesting green keep..

keybind auto-loot to shift.. easier to spam shift with your pinkie. this way you can still use your other fingers to spam your skills. i got much better at skill spamming since i changed mine to shift key :P
