That thread is 6 hours old so could have just added your input there. Have you tested it yourself? Sigil of energy was changed in pvp only to grant vigor now instead of 50% endurance. I’ve tested on test golems using 2 different on swap sigils and it seems to be working correctly for me. Chances are you didn’t realize the change to the sigil of energy even though it says gain vigor on weapon swap. I didn’t test every combo to see if one of them has an issue but used the combos mentioned above, plus several others and they work for me..

ET from what I’ve seen doesn’t run for long but they will flip the entire maps when they do.

DR is just a bunch of PvD’ers that can WXP harder, tower hug w/seige if there is any resistance or move to another map. Indicative of guild they brought in [EotM], really.

If Anet would give free transfers, I would have left last year but I’m not going to convert my gold or buy Gems to support Anet.

I mostly go there for a good laugh. EotM has more quality players than DR.

no ty I was from GoM. I put 8k hours and 4k ranks before I decided to see if the grass was greener. Like many I was fed up, ready to quit and just not playing as much but moving seemed to have brought back some of the fun I used to have. It took a while though as when I first moved I hated it. I just like to poke at people that pick EoTM over WvW but if its more fun then go for it

This BDO talk reminds me of Age of Conan. Had mounts, an action combat system, RvR where players actually build the keeps and influence the world. All of them sound good on paper. I’ll wait until the hype dies down maybe check it out if it’s not a money grab like most new MMO.

I preorder and did the last beta.. At first I was like what did I just buy lol First game that popped in my head was AA.. It just reminded me of that game for some reason.. There is tons of stuff to do and it is very confusing at first. It has its grind although in chats some say you can grind to the soft cap in about 6 hours.

I didn’t even make it past level 16 but I tried 4 different classes and I put about 6 – 8 hours a day in that game during beta. I did a bunch of stuff like crafting, fishing and trying to build a boat but I got to around the same level on each of the toons. It was more that I was just trying to figure the game out and what to do.

There is still so much to learn but IMO it is not a replacement for wvw just yet. At least for me. You are not just going to buy the game and jump into open world PvP fights. You will have to work for it and seeing as a lot of wvw players hate pve, you just might be disappointed by this game.

This is just my opinion on the game and we all know I usually have different opinions then most that post here :P

At first I though this season was better but now I’m starting to understand all the complaints.. It took me 2 days to move out of tier 2 in sapphire.. It took me several hours to get my 3 wins to advance my achievement. I thought moving up would get me better matches but that is not the case.. Lots of people give up the second you start to lose. Not to mention the afkers that don’t even try. Trash talk in matches is bad and it is always point a finger at one person and put the blame on them. I got tired of the pip grind last season somewhere in the middle of ruby. Already tired of the same grind for wins. Maybe I am stuck where I belong but really I’m not seeing much of a difference between this season and the last besides matches being stacked with necros :P

To be fair though while players can create population imbalance its really difficult for them to fix the problem they create. To do so you’d need a large number of guilds and unaffiliated people to agree to spread to lower tier servers all going to opposing servers at roughly the same time. That level of coordination will never happen. Heck, there probably aren’t enough players left to populate the servers that exist and maintain a healthy population in all time zones.

At the end of the day players generally want to win, either their match up or their fights. Players also want to log in and jump right into the action regardless of time zone. Its beneficial then to stack servers. Always fights, always karma, always something to do. Trying to break that up voluntarily would be difficult at best.

Its gotten so bad now that the mere rumor of X guild leaving X server will spark mass transfers.

Oh yea I know it is hard to fix but you know what I see a lot? Low tiered players complaining because they have empty maps or can’t find anybody to fight. Instead of transferring they claim they only login for dailies or not at all.. Sorry but to me doing that is only helping making the game mode worse. They might just find what they are looking for if they move. Yes it sucks having to pay to move to a server that may end up dead lol but I just think more people should try to see if it is better in another tier before demanding anet steps in to fix it. We all know what happens when anet steps in don’t we??

Yes it gets checked and they get banned, but you need to do your part and properly report the offenders via in-game report, and if some reason you are unable to select them to access the report feature, video record what the offender(s) are doing and send it in to exploits@arena.net with details such as what server you are on, what time and date you recorded the footage and what borderland it was on.

Dream on. Even if you happen to have video running 24/7 and happen to capture them on it, still nothing will be done for months if not years- and then they will just hop on to an alt account and start over.

Gave up reporting years ago as a complete waste of time as nothing ever came of multiple reports from hundreds of people.

You don’t have to record 24/7, there is magical stuff like shadowplay and gvr these days. I have seen many people I have reported banned and not come back. If you aren’t going to do your part, how can you complain?

Sorry but I went overboard doing my part to remove hackers and it takes forever and hundred of reports before something is actually done.. Some of them, after months and months of reports, do get banned but come back on a different account.

Yup seeing lots of necros myself.. Had a match against 5 of them but we won. I used necro last season and did pretty good with him then. I actually used scrapper more this season and only recently switched to necro mainly for profession achievements.

I had no problems moving out of amber.. Maybe 4 loses total. Emerald had some blow outs but did have more close matches so I think emerald had some better matches. Won some lost some. I’m 2 wins away from moving to sapphire.

TL;DR: Basically I think HOT and the F2P change didn’t manage to replace falling WVW player interest/numbers. This prompted the remaning players from deserted servers to move up to tiers where there is still something going on.

This is what I did and HoT was what did it.. I always said I would never leave my server but then HoT dropped. First time I went to the new BL I knew they would be dead as the old BL’s were pretty much dead outside of a few hours at prime time. It took 5 of us a very long time just to bust into the fire keep and figure out how to get to lords lol

Some guildies pointed out to me that t1 opened up for the first time in a long time and a handful of us decided to move on up to try it out. Main reason I left was because of the size of the new map. Now that I moved though there are lots of things I do not miss.

I still talk to some people on my old server but its the same old story. People keep leaving and that was always a problem in the lower tiers.

As far as I can see everyone wants something different so who should they listen to? Everyone plays a different way. Just look when suggestions or ideas are posted. They mostly turn into arguments because some issues players have others are fine with it..

I’ve yet to see a fix for population posted that everyone agrees on but to me that was created by players and not sure why players are not trying to fix it themselves. Some are moving up tiers as every few days I see new people saying they just transferred.

What I do fear though is we will get some sort of megaserver. They did it for pve when servers couldn’t complete map events because they lacked populations. I always said I’d leave if this happened but really until something I find better comes along I’ll just learn to adapt with whatever they give us.

Games don’t last forever. Longest MMO I played was FF11 and the second longest is GW2. I’m just trying to have fun for as long as I can.

what do you considered dead? zero players on maps is what i considered dead and in t1 there are players on maps all day. no matter when i log in i can find action.. i actually prefer early NA as primetime just becomes blob city

On the other hand, said hacker had been at it for a long time before that. Also, there’s this other guy who is widely known and has escaped justice for so long. It is puzzling, but it seems that things do get done on occasion.

I took several gunflame hits on my necro today. It’s hysterical. If you can pull it off and one shot people… I say go for it! Only got downed once btw, my guild mates rescued me. The rifle boy had his fun and I got a good laugh out of it. Besides, warriors have it pretty bad right now anyways. Let them have their fun.

Other profession have it bad too though and they don’t have a push a couple of buttons 2 win. Thing is it is pretty deadly and if you put deadly tools in skilled players hands it becomes even worse. Oh well. Just something else we have to live with until something is done I guess.. Its not like every day it happens to me over and over again but everytime I do get instant downed it comes from this skill.

Yes I only notice it when I move my camera at certain angles while running. Apparently some have it worse than others. Also I read, probably in this thread now since its been merged, that cities seem to have it worse.

Some are getting it in wvw and pvp as well but I really notice it the most while gliding.

now that I tested it some more, even when gliding it only seems to do it at certain angles..

Hey , most of us agree how annoying is to loss your rank because you get Agee newcomer in the team and some times it’s so frustrating so my suggstion use the pvp lvl make the lvl count!

but i farmed all my levels on skyhammer lol jk but rank doesn’t actually mean they are good players.. IMO rank just shows how much time players put into a game mode.

I wanna add an update. It seems to be fine for me now the stuttering yesterday was horrible completely unplayable. However, today it only happens when I move my camera to the side view of my Charr and run at the same time. If I have the back (normal view) of my toon its fine just the side view is horrible.

maps are not designed for gliding. well maybe new map but its hated and as far as i can see it is not hated because you can’t glide in it. If they redesign EBG map for gliding i will be one mad player.

SF is up there too. My guess is they lack defenders and or players so they constantly have to back cap their stuff.

It could also be that they have their side on lock down and are constantly flipping other servers stuff to keep them off their side..

I had no problems moving out of amber.. As I said in another post somewhere, I’m mainly a wvw player that pvp’s when bored. I think in amber I had a total of 4 loses and first couple of matches in emerald were blowouts lol Only problem I’ve ran into is being matched against some pro league players.. Not really a problem but those matches we lost.

Most of the loses I’ve had have been solo players vs groups of 3 or 4 teamed up
players. One thing I don’t like seeing is 3 of classes on a teams. Seems to be necro is the class to play as I had several matches where it was 3 of them on my team or the enemy team.. I actually had a match against 3 condi reapers and 2 condi mes and what a disaster that match was lol

Ahh well.. To me it seems better than last league but last league I made it to mid ruby and got tired of the grind for pips and wvw was calling me lol. Only in second tier of emerald so not sure if it is going to get better or worse just yet.. Too early to tell.

anet doesn’t do anything with reports except toss them into the recycle bin.

and the PINK guy is back tapping our keep again today and running through the walls again.

matches are not that bad.. I’m a wvw player and usually pvp when bored.. already into emerald and i think only had 3 – 4 loses in amber. once i got to emerald though lost the first 2 matches but won the next 2.. Only thing i’m noticing is classes seem to be stacked way more than last league.. had a bunch of matches vs 3 reapers or had 3 on our team..

if you guys are struggling in amber all i got to say is LOL

last 2 matches of mine were all solo queues vs 3 grouped players both matches.

and of course we lost.. second match had 2 pro league players in it too..

also you have to wait till end of match to see who is grouped.. I saw the same thing in your SS but at the end it was only 3 players grouped up.

queues are fast. matching could be better.

wish solo players had their own queues. this league is going to be groups of 3’s -4’s dominating solo players for wins.. gg

i’ve seen some screenshots of invisible walls in pve land that have mining nodes on other sides of them that players can’t get to.. so no thanks.. rather not have more things that may end up breaking wvw.

they finally got rid of the drakes that were contesting the green keep in EBG and that has been happening since HoT launched. just think if they mess up one invisible wall we will be stuck with it until they decide to fix it..

You do know that stability was broken to cripple the warrior class and it worked…

You know, the funny thing is, my kitless hammer scrapper now feels like a hammer warrior from GWEN days but on steroids. Yea, stab is less effective, but the invulns, reflects, condi immunes (or total effeects which might as well be immunes) and evades far more then make up for it, and the CC is just so insane.

So on some part, its definetly a player issue and lack of adaptability and powercreep FTW.

scrapper is pretty good in large fights.. i just started to mess with one but still not that great on him but i do dive into large numbers and make it back out in 1 piece.. sometimes lol.. its good for baiting and running through all them skill spammers :P

I advise you to stick with it. Go scrapper / elixir and full tank / CC, then if you can get just 2-3 more such scrappers and 1-2 correctly specced druids, you guys will be able to take out entire large groups regardless of what they throw at you and basically laugh at every pirateship complaint post on these forums. Its freagin amazing.

Also, its very flexible, just switch weapon + 1-2 gear pieces to offensive and switch your elite + 1 util and now you have a pretty ubber roaming build. You can even take the same thing out to PVE land and do well with it on almost any content except raids just by going more into the offensive side.

i do pretty good roaming on scrapper as well.. can hold my own pretty much in most 1vs1. since i never really tried engie much and decided to try scrapper my gear right now is all mixed stuff. some defense stuff and some offense stuff. seems to work well in both zerging and roaming..

i also switch around my elites. been messing around with exlir x for when i zerg and sometimes when roaming i switch to that stealth gyro.. have to say though it is a lot of fun to play. i never could master engie lol but i’m really liking the scrapper

once i get hang of it i’ll probably experiment more

Open up a third tournament type:

Training – Open only to (lets say) players with under 100 games played
Unranked – Speaks for itself (in between Training/Ranked)
Ranked – Speaks for itself

I think this is a huge issue. I agree 100% with OP, i think a lot of players are discouraged by being destroyed in their first couple of games. You’re right in the fact that the algorithm will eventually sort these players out, but even 2-3 really crappy games could ruin pvp for a lot of people.

There used to be the play now button that threw you into a random hotjoin match before they redid the UI. You can still get to it from the menu on the side but it was much easier for new players (like me when i started) to just click play now. As a new player now, if they just look at the UI they see 2 options to pvp unranked or ranked.

Overall? Most of the time YB does sit on siege and backcaps, avoiding fights in my experience, of course there are some on YB who don’t but its been the complaint of every server coming up against YB from T4 to T1, they can’t all be misconstruing how YB play.

With JQ and BG its not the majority of the server, its not part of their server culture.

It was your server becoming a bandwagon destination, and guilds who transfered (and many who left because of your playstyle) that brought up yb, not your cancerous playstyle of siegecreep, bunkering, and pvd.

And heres another reality check, remember before hot how yb was dead last every week. You guys winning is more due to hot driving players away, and lowering players interest in the playing on the new map/or for ppt.

Point is obvious, there is no overall 2v1 against YB, in fact the idea is laughable.

Overall? Most of the time YB does sit on siege and backcaps, avoiding fights in my experience, of course there are some on YB who don’t but its been the complaint of every server coming up against YB from T4 to T1, they can’t all be misconstruing how YB play.

With JQ and BG its not the majority of the server, its not part of their server culture.

blobbing on 1 tag in EBG is part of both servers culture though

Yes I will acknowledge that is true even though some guilds don’t.

Let me just end on this note.. You claim to be fight servers but the way you fight is to bring the entire map with you. No guilds stand out on any server besides the few small roaming and gank guilds you have running around. I’ve never seen any guild groups that don’t have massive pugs following them.. Maybe you see the same thing but I can say yb is usually spread across maps and well the others just pile in EBG.

It is what it is and I really only play for fun.. to me its fun being hated on all the time so that’s why i moved to yb. Guess I just love to be hated.. Also sometimes when you express your hate towards something, players will do it just because they know you hate it :P

anyway im not into this pvf stuff because its silly to me.. same thing that is said about yb was said about my old server too.. chances are if i transfer somewhere else the same thing will be said about that server.

EVERY server has players that do the EXACT same thing you all call other servers out for. watch some of my past streams and you will see both of the so called in it for fight servers RUNNING from fights.. Running after they were trying to ninja cap our side.. RUNNING when they saw our zerg coming for them. Fight servers my kitten … more like 2 k-train servers that only are in it for easy objectives and complain because they still die to siege and can’t counter siege.
