Conclusion:I will keep playing for a few more days, but I am already missing T2. T2 seems a better blend of large scale fights while catering to the roamers with solid roaming fights. This is the weekend so a full picture of T1 won’t develop until weekday fights commence.

I hardly find sigil of battle to be a problem, but I can see where you are coming from there. How would you suggest changing it?
HgH is an underwhelming build in my opinion, I hardly see anyone using it regularly for that reason. None of the engineers I know at all use it often in PvP. For the sake of argument though, how would you change it? While we are discussing it, if you feel it is a problem, would you mind finding any footage of the tournaments or high level play in which it is shown being used to stack might?
How would you propose nerfing boon duration? Do you really feel boon duration as a whole is a problem or simply "might duration? Personally I do not see a problem with boon duration.
Now as for balancing turrets.
Yes I do agree that they should be able to be crit & effected by conditions.
However I also feel that if this is done that they should have increased health as they would die far to easily without it.
While I absolutely agree that players who invest in precision and condition damage deserve to see those stats effect every enemy target, wouldn’t you agree it would only be fair to allow the engineers condition damage, power, and precision effect turret out put as well? As of now turrets cannot crit, nor do they scale with power.

You mention that the game should require skill, yet, you suggest nerfing the heal that requires the more skilled input then any other heal in the game.
The problem here, is if they listen to post such as this and nerf Healing turret. More post will come accusing the problem of being something else. Because changing healing turret won’t change much. Then they will nerf something else, and never revert healing turret.
Another problem I see, is that the OP put three numbers out there. So 1/3 of what he thought justified a nerf was that the abjured beat the team from his region of support. Implying they were just some joe’s off the street.

Built in siege is a good term for it. I do agree that it certainly buys you time to allow for reinforcements. particularly given how easy it is to disable rams and catas.

My experience seems to disagree with your. I spent a great deal of time on JQ. my guild then decided to move down to YB that was T# at the time (now T2) and I generally have never seen a player on any of the 6-8 servers I was either on, or against, not using oil, cannons, or mortars, when the opportunity was available.
Sure cannons are problematic because they are so easy to hit. But mortars are more difficult to get to.
As I see it, they are what you use early on at the much greater ranges, as they have much more range the arrow carts, and once they get focused, you fall back to arrow carts.

I really like the fact that Engineer is more unique etc. it’s just I am yet to see how it can excel more than Warrior does.
The main things I do at the moment: sPvP and WvW Focus Party Guild Raiding and Warrior really seems to be equal/better than Engi in both of these scenarios. For the focus party I need burst and escape.

You have to know that your posting in the engineer sub forums, so obviously there is a bit of bias in favor of the engineer. I have both, and I find the warrior a little less diverse, but mostly, I simply find the engineer more fun to play. that is all personal preference. if your not feeling it with the engineer, play the warrior, no one will fault you for it.

Points in the “invention” line are actually very solid and beneficial in WvW. More so in some situations in others. I suggest to the OP to disregard comments suggesting otherwise. Particularly from the those with limited WvW experience. Obviously, I suggest building how you like.

Unless we received multiple options for elite kits, I would much much prefer a ranged kit. The only real ranged kit we have is grenades. I would like something like the charzooka.

Personally bud, I would go with Strength. It benefits direct and condition damage. Although it is limited by your crit chance to an extent obviously. Basically I agree with what Ragnar the Rock stated.

Actually this will reduce WvW participation. All the achievement hunters only need to complete 3 dailies now to get the maximum daily AP. So there is no reason for them to go to WvW anymore since those are mostly impossible to complete anyway…

I see no evidence that this will occur. My guild recently transfered from T1 server since launch, to a T3 server. Which has since moved to TV since we arrives. This kill for points thing… probably not the best idea even if it is a temporary event. The bigger server / zerg will completely demoralize other servers and no one will want to WvW. At least with the original formula small servers had a small chance of keeping up.

I do those things already. We have a rotation schedule of 1/4 of an hour and folks rotate in and out of scouting.
You may not think so. But I think training together as a team so that we can beat larger forces is rather skill full. I feel the roaming videos I have posted, of my solo skills qualify me as skilled on a personal level as well.. Need a link to our website chalk full of videos as evidence?
I feel coordinating a rotation for scouting, and only asking for volunteers (never trying to presume to require anyone to do anything) to a level that white sword have been irrelevant in the first place, is rather organized.

The last LS Episode ended as too many other episodes before on an Cliffhanger. Even though it was enjoyable, the content itself was nothing more than filler for many.
Which is even more concerning with the episode before having the same feeling.We got two “filler” in a row, with endings that felt like someone said: “_cut, we continue next week.”_
It just isn`t a satisfied way to end the year. More so if episode 8 really is the last episode of this season.
Please understand that we know about the supposed Masterplan an possible inenr workings enough to understand your reasoning as a company.

I like to use rocket boots instead of rifle turret. In a WvW situation, I like the ability to get out of a bad situation quickly. As well as its ability to close gaps beyond just the magnet. The blast finisher benefit also helps.

We pretty much know what will happen:
White Sword Removal:
1- Inexperienced players will no longer know where to go.
2- The WvW experience will rely even more on voice chat, something that isn’t even implemented in GW2.
3- Everything will turn into a huge Karma Train like EotM, unless you have a scout in every tower and keeps there will be no way to know where the enemy is. This will literally kill low tier servers where the population is too thin to spread out.
1. inexperience players possibly don’t even know anything about white swords. Why wouldn’t they know where to go? Are they removing map what and commander Pins too? Scouts would herald exactly where to go.
2. Nothing “relies” on voice chat beyond convenient efficiency. Map chat is sufficient enough. in my opinion, there is no reason not to be in a servers voice chat anyway. The access to it and location to find are posted in map chat often anyway
3. You have no evidence of this. It is possible. Anything is. But you do not know this. They are doing a test an we will find out for certain. As of now, your just trying to fear monger in my opinion.
PPK:
1- While good in theory it is a flawed way to fix the broken PPT problem where the outcome of a match can always be known in advance because:
- PPK will make people blob up just even more. The biggest blob will almost always win and be able to res their downs.
- It will give the Warrior class an unfair advantage, because they can always res their allies. Perpare yourself for huge blobs with 50% warriors.
In short to go with the PPK you need to fix the class balance first: Increase AoE limit for light armor classes to discourage blobbing. Or increase AoE Skill damage.
I see no evidence that PPT is broken. It works precisely as it is supposed to as far as I am aware. I am not entirely certain broken means what you think it means. You are completely dishonest to claim you can know the outcome in advance, you can suspect it, but to claim you know it is fear mongering in order to push your own agendy in my opinion.
I see nothing to support your claim about warriors, other professions can do that as we.. Not to mention, under the current conditions, warriors are already a highly desired profession for hammer trains and banners, I don’t see much changing when you take “bloodlust” into account.
As to your last point, I don’t know where you coming up with these assumptions. We previously had both higher AoE limit and higher AoE damage. Nothing your claiming accured in that situation. Are you making the historic error of ignoring the past?
Anyway, it will change the PPT meta certainly but it will not make WvW more interesting, to the contrary.
If your objective is to make WvW more interesting you should make content like improved Stonemist battles, faster and stronger supply doyaks, Keeps with more types of defenses, where outer can be upgraded seperatly from inner, buildable barricades, new maps in rotation (removal of duplcated maps), harmonization of rewards between EotM and normal maps… not do little changes that may make the game worse.
Who won’t it make it interesting for? You haven’t tried it, so you either do not know if you will find it interesting, or have already decided you will do whatever you have to in order to dislike it for the sake of doing so.

Probably not. I wouldn’t conclude that since he didn’t include weakness in that list of conditions. He said auto-attack grenade throw, that assumably procced Doom sigil, 15% Shrapnel proc, crit for Incendiary Powder.
As an aside, E-Gun’s pressure and weakness is a bit dumb for how easy it is, but the only problem is that you can literally do nothing else, and you have to sacrifice many other things. I agree that it’s balanced.

I am currently using a condition build on my engineer. It is full rapid with runes of the undead. I have 30 points traited into explosives, and I also use super veggie pizzas (too cheap for koi) so I have 66% condition duration.
I was thinking of changing things up. I could swap my runes of the undead for runes of the nightmare, which give 15% condition duration. I also would buy giver’s weapons, for an extra 20% condition duration. 66+15+20 = 101% condition duration.
So with this build I would have 100% condition duration increase. The downside is that I will lose roughly 300 condition damage and 100 toughness.What do you guys think about this? Should I give it a go?
I run a 100% condition duration occasionally. You get a significantly larger amount of damage with the duration then what you lose in each damage tic, based on losing 300 condition damage. I keep a condition duration gear/weapon (rabid) set and a defensive set of condition gear/weapon set (dire).

Cheese is fair game when $25,000 is on the line. I’m surprised the community is still devolving instead of evolving at this point.
Define “cheese”?
Cheese is a term poor players use to attempt to be insulting and accusatory when they lose. There is no such thing as a cheese build, a cheese comp, or any of that stuff.
Definition of “Cheese” in GW2 – Term used to incorrectly imply I keep losing, but am better them my opponent, in order to make me feel better about the fact that I am a lesser skilled player, or made mistakes in the fight, and lost.
They all fought within the rules set of the game. All teams did.. Only the jealous and insecure attempt to take away from that with unoriginal buzz words.

they should start by fixing the current wvw system . they don’t want change it . ok we know and accepted it after 2 years , but there is not any excuse to not fix the broken or stupid mechanisms.
I hate such uninformed claims of this matter. People make these claims and never offer a lick of evidence to support it. I play in NA, and I know for a fact that all 4 maps on the top 6 servers can have a queue on any given day. SO these irrational claims of something being broken or unpopular come off to me as cheap accusations that players make because they don’t get the changes they want, regardless of how it effects everyone else.

tl/dr version: Necros are now bigger sitting ducks than ever before because without that trick, they don’t have access to deathshroud, which is the reason they don’t have many defensive tools in the first place, cause second health bar op!
So I played my necro all night last night. I have to say, if you feel like a sitting duck, I think the problems is how you play, not the profession.

Hmm, interesting. When your argument is weak enough that you have to make inaccurate accusations. I was playing on a premade team, in ranked. Necro, Ele, Engineer, Guardian, Warrior, for about 3 hours off and on. Some people had to log so the next 2 hours were Necro, Ele, Ranger, Guardian, thief.
By the way, I have seen no evidence that you or your dog can survive at all. Anyone can make uninformed accusations then claim they can do as well or better, but I do not see you providing any evidence.
I on the other hand was sharing my opinion based on my experience. I do not PvP a great deal on my necro (maybe 300ish hours worth), although I do WvW on my necro a fair bit. You do not have to like my opinion, but it is mine and I am sharing it as my view on the discussion.

I posted this on Reddit a few days ago when a person was asking about what you’d like to see in the next feature patch, but I think it works here too.
- Fixes to exploits and counters to siege trolling.
Yeah, they are working on this. I think this is logically unanimous among the player base.
- Changes to the ppt system to address some things like encouraging smart play and lowering the issues with population differences during some timezones.
The PPT system is fine. Changing it for the sake of changing it is irrational if you ask me. Particularly when you mention time zones. What makes a prime time players time more valuable then off time players?
- Something to change the weekly matches that adds some degree of randomness to the mechanics of WvW and more variety beyond potentially getting matched up with a lower/higher rank server.
Sounds good in theory but the second a lower tier plays a higher tier, both tiers cry all over the forums.
- Changes to WvW reward structure to make WvW more rewarding, give more ways for WvWers to actually show off their accomplishments and rank, and give more benefits to scouting or doing the other menial tasks.
How? This is a common idea. The problem is finding agreeable solutions.
- New WvW maps, or at least reskins for the maps and npcs to at least break the visual monotony.

- Reworks to EotM to make it less of a constant ktrain and actually encourage some competition.
Why? It keeps k trains out of WvW. How would you prevent players from K training anyway. EoTM is great for leveling, i see no reason to change it.
- Reworks to EotM’s map so the sides are a little more even in terms of destructible walls/gates, bridge locations that can actually kill, point control benefits, and so on.
Maps could use a little balancing.
- New uses for WvW ability points, including a line that could be nearly infinite so you can actually do something with all the excess ability points in between new abilities being released.

- New types of siege and upgrades.

- A banker in each of the starting areas of WvW.
Don’t have a clue why it hasn’t always been there.
- More commander mechanics like tags that can be seen by the guild only and map interaction between commander and squad or vice versa.

- Making supply map specific to help with blobs just porting to unpressured bls for supply to come back and full repair or do a sudden mass golem rush.
You mean like preventing supply from going between maps such as changes maps spawns you with zero supply? Not sure i agree. That works against lesser populations more then not.
- Changing the rally mechanic so a zerg doesn’t just get up from tagging a random Moa or low level ungeared player that is following just to troll.
What do you suggest?
- Changes to the Skritt and Centaur areas in the bls to make them something more than just part of map completion.
How? last thing I want is more PvE junk in the way of my WvW.
- More uses for badges of honor, like possibly the ability to buy a WvW only commander tag to help encourage more people to try their luck with commanding.
Yeah, I have badges out the wazoo.
- Changes to camp, tower, and keep claiming so up to 4 different guilds can claim one structure to use their guild buffs on and claims can be overwritten if a guild has more buffs active for longer than the guild that currently has it claimed.

Explain what you think “structured” means in the case of PvP. It is a uniform map. Teams have equal limits. Simply because it is not your standard king of the point map does not mean it isn’t structured.
I rather enjoy the map. It is great for all out melee fun for a little change sometimes.
