Sure it is, no one wants to alt tab, then wait, then alt tab, then wait, then spam /map, then wait, then alt tab.. this should be built in. It’s not, if it was dungeons wouldn’t get skipped and the OP would be irrelevant.
You don’t have to tab, they join your group ingame or whisper you for an invite. Have you even used it?

Fun is challenging, but as you said, not frenetic and not so challenging it requires you to come up with every shady trick and borderline exploit. Fun for a wide audience probably means multiple difficulty levels, honestly…as MMOs like this one have a wide variety of player types.
When I hear people talking about stacking on a mob because it’s attacks won’t work…or how you can kill this mob from safety from this ledge…. I’m kicked right out of my fun zone already. Just cleaning up the dungeons and making the rewards consistent would be awesome.
Yeah this , I hate all the dungeon exploits and mob skipping. I think they should just make the mobs have 25% less health but never leash.
And if gold is harder to get then the prices will come down, if people refuse to buy. But people always buy, shrug you bring the prices on yourself :p
Fun is more challenging, requiring me to use my class to its limit.
Bonus points if it’s more dynamic, having to respond to new variations and unexpected events.

Yeah the crafting is a bit of a joke (coming from EVE where you can craft as an entire playstyle :p)
It’s not totally worthless though, I still ask my guild members for crafted stuff when I already have the look of an item but don’t want to farm a dungeon for the stats :p
I have a lot of fun playing suboptimally , tbh the most optimal path is rarely fun in any game. When you have a random group it makes the content more difficult, more requiring of the nuances of the combat and classes, changing traits for differing encounters to pass them.
tbh the game is designed for casual play and it ends up being most fun when you play casually. So I guess that’s a win for the design :P
And hardmode is already kinda there in the form of full magicfind gear, as it reduces your damage and survivability. I’m surprised mf isn’t power/cond/mf though, since then the one gear would be equally bad for everyone.
Maybe making the magicfind gear look really cool to offset your self nerfing and show off your hard mode skills… hehe maybe in a perfect world

Also for balance reasons, anet don’t want you having complete no-brainer trait lines all the time.

@OP Zac is not op, Nami not op, Karma was not op (still isn’t) There were lots of new champions that weren’t overpowered (and the majority of the ones that seemed so weren’t). People bought them because they were new. They seem op because nobody knows how to deal with them :p Same with deathknights in wow, add something new and they will kill everyone at first.
Hopefully when anet eventually get around to adding more options to the classes they do it right.

I’ve heard valkyrie is pretty good especially if you use sigil of intelligence and boon duration is likely to give you much more support than +healing, specially if you have aurasharing build.
Still relevant info :p I like mount maelstrom due to 2 world bosses and lots of mithril etc.
Crafting is the quickest way.
When the custom servers in the mists get added you will be able to make a 1v1 probably.
I can’t see how anyone that can micromanage 4 heroes is unable to manage their own character.
What’s the issue, maybe we can help. For one always rebind your keys to be close to your hands so even if you’re slower to react you should still be able to get to dodge or heal etc faster than reaching across to 6 or double tapping.
FF11 and PSO did not fail, they were both console mmos. FF14 RR is pretty cool too and the control system is genius.
That said, you have to design it from the ground up. FF online plays similarily to the offline versions, in being a slow paced tactical game (the skill combos between players required good coordination)
The only issue with console mmos is the lack of power for massive battles, the reason Planetside2 isn’t coming to console. (ff11 and 14 did not focus on pvp, no pvp in pso either.)
PC will never stop growing in power, people pay for cutting edge :p
There would be a lot more consuming if we had a little consumables hotbar, tbh. I never understand why you don’t need food for combat in gw2. Back when I play Age of Conan the food buffs were huge, to really reward being well fed and not thirsty. Here you get some good stats and effects but they should be doubled imo.

All classes are viable in all spheres, warriors just do cof1 in 6 mins instead of 9

Warriors are fine as a class, it’s the content that is designed for that kind of playstyle that is at fault. If everything had twice the armour you’d see more condition builds for example.
We also fire lightning.
tbh I don’t find the damage is that taxed, we are the best at conditions. I guess it feels ok because we counter the current fotm eles :p
I’ve always had this issue too, it seems the pull stops if the target touches the ground, I think the arc of the pull should probably be increased slightly to make it more reliable.

I love engi downed state.
140 extra kills is nothing, just join some events with lots of weak mobs. Also you can aoe several mobs down more easily on an ele than a warrior.
You can also reflect clone causing abilities from mesmers to get your own (unlimited) suppy of clones (if it hasn’t been patched..)
As a pretty militant atheist, who believes religious buildings should have an 18+ age restriction, it would slightly irk me that my human characters have to choose a god… but the concept is so glossed over (mentioned in only a few comments in Story mode) that it is a completely ignorable issue.
I choose to ignore it.
The other point that I would make is that for humans, at least, religion would be particularly strong since their race has had a real battering in recent times, so many people would need something to fall back on for personal strength and for community values. Religion fits the bill.
I’m in the same boat as you but if gods were real I’d totally pick one that I liked to support me in life.

The essence gear thread seems like a good idea. I too would like to be able to change skins to other skins I’ve already collected without destroying another 300+ dungeon tokens etc. if I want to change my look back. Using a transmutation stone to absorb is a good idea.
Would probably get people that didn’t buy them because of the limitations to buy.
I like how the different races and individuals have all sorts of views, mixes things up.
Religions are a part of culture, they may not be accurate to reality but they are interesting and full of imaginative subject matter.

Mid fight is already too late, you need more awareness.
The ranged wizard is called the mesmer.
You have to just prepare for upcoming battles by having good awareness. I’ve never been in a situation where I didn’t have time to switch to the correct weapons for the upcoming battle.
Your stats depend on your skills slalom, you generally start with pvt and replace it with more damage as you die less. 60% boon duration is a good minimum to aim for. The direct healing from +healing isn’t where most of the support comes from though the coefficents are some of the best.
If someone were to prove me wrong I would correct myself, if someone were to show me a video of a staff ele fighting an equally geared and skilled viable non-staff ele profession and winning 3/5 times then I will change my ways, but until the day I dont see people stopping playing D/D mostly because its the “effective” one and when I ask them; “out of D/D and staff, which one would you prefer to have?” and most they answer “D/D by choice” not because staff didnt work out, then I will stop.
Why use the wrong tool for the job though? You idea of what a staff is obviously does not match up with what the game designers envisioned. They designed staff to be effective against large groups of enemies and likewise designed daggers to excel in small fights.
Look at it this way: You don’t use a screwdriver to hammer in a nail. Can you make it work somewhat? Sure, but it most definitely is not the best tool for the job.
Indeed, I’ve never seen warriors complaining about the ranged dps of the greatsword.
Our issue isn’t the weapons it’s the traits.
Water jet needs to be a beam, would be awesome healing and damaging in a line. Also comparing null field to our on attunement aoe cleanse and heal trait, I’ll take the switch heal thanks :p
The single attunement traits need to go away, everyone single one of them should have an effect for each attunement…
Many feel forced into arcane / water to fill our deficiencies, maybe some of that stuff needs to be baseline…
Still staff in a group if people build to take advantage of combo fields, it’s very good.
I agree that conjures should probably be our weapon swap. But maybe balance them by replacing that attunement. (or just giving us the full 20 skills with each lol)

Toughness is one of the many factor when it comes to calculating aggro, not a sole one. Full zerker guardian in melee might as well generate more aggro than an ele with a staff and a bit of toughness.
That’s why I said increases.
I’m not seeing a lack of versatility when I play spvp but whatever, I agree the autoattacks could do with being a bit more impactful, the devs said they wanted some more low skill options for eles as they only really become useful when you’ve mastered the stance-dance – and imo the best way to do that is via some traits or buff that make the autoattacks stronger.
Baseline 10s switch, Would be nice.
Lightning AA, haha yes it is so slow, it should instantly hit all 3 targets, and if it hits the same target twice should get the graphic of a lightning strike. (a trait for multihit spells to gain a lightning bolt would be awesome)
Water AA should really use the beam channel like scepter air, would work with the toughness on channel trait since only meteor storm works with it now.
Agree on earth. Magic projectiles in gw2 really need to be faster, and non magic ones, make them faster too, people should just dodge on the animation, not seeing things slowly travelling 1200.
Just more trait synergy, to get that feeling of making a really synergistic build back from gw1 :p
I think an issue here is due to glyph of elemental power they have to balance the spells around the possibility of applying burn/weakness/chill/cripple.
I think if goep was changed/removed(or kept the same, it might not even be op) and those conditions added liberally to the spells in all attunements we’d end up in a nice place.
They probably get the posts from the suggestions forum. I know pvp devs are on state of the game each time it airs.
The trouble is mainly that players are mostly idiots, it’s hard to sort the good posts from the BUFF STAYING IN ONE ATTUNEMENT crowd -_-
Some major suggestions have been acted on, and that got us freaking ascended gear, meh.
On sotg they were outlining their plans for the classes and I like what I hear, as it will positively affect pvp and pve (more build diversity) so it’s just a waiting game :p
