This is usually a sure sign of Hardware Failure and not the game itself.

Either a CPU is overheating, there’s Bad Overclocking at play, a Memory block/timing is bad, or maybe even a whole harddrive sector could be scrambled. Though usually, it’s a Video driver conflict and either a new or older version needs to be installed.

Oh unlimited salvage kits…I will buy gems to get one of those…

Bet its soulbound thou, so you after buy 1 for each character…sad face…

Keep in mind that it’s a basic tool. So it shouldn’t be used on stuff you want ectos on.

It should be used on blues/whites.

+1

The unlimited Mining implements already released are a much better use of Gems by comparison b/c their hierarchy is T6. Anything short of an unlimited Black Lion Salvage kit with its 50% rarer MATs chance would be a waste compared to how many Mystic Kits we can now make with all these Forge Stones that have just been given to us for free through AP rewards.

Sure. And then if farming champions becomes profitable we’ll just head over there. Heck we’d probably chain-run Cursed Shore.

More power to all of you who can! …. Especially if you manage to take down the Risen Baron (1 hitting AOE shadowsteps on a 3 second cooldown) and Jester Champ on Steps …followed by the Champ Wraiths towards Grenth (20-60 stacks of Defiant to get through sometimes before it can be interrupted). And this doesn’t even begin to touch on the fun your pure Melee teams (who never had to dodge or block in COF) will have against Champ Aboms & Gorillas, heh…

getting kickd from party cause...

Running past mobs or running around them is not a bannable offense.
If it was, then all of us who used to “Taxi” to Droknar’s & Rata Sum would have been banned from GW1 and wouldn’t have HOM skins to flaunt right now.

getting kickd from party cause, i didnt know how to exploit pass dredge. after beating already 2 fractal levels. why does this game allow party kicking like this.

Usually people respond like this “if you trusted them to join their party then you should be aware they can kick you if they want”

but its a easy to counter falasy with “if they trusted you to let you join then you should have no right to kick them or next time don´t let them in”

Print screen and send ANet.
Exploiting is still a bannable offense. Maybe that way the elitist kittens would learn to stop being jerks!

/cheers

It’s rarely ever an exploit, it’s a mini Jumping Puzzle that Anet specifically left un-walled (IE: no invisible wall there, but definitely pathable steps). Not only that but it only “bypasses” mob groups in the same sense that a balanced build can just run straight through them usually. And to add on to that, it’s not even DIFFICULT by jump puzzle standards b/c all the jumps you can actually MAKE while still being “in Combat” (try that in some of the WvW JPs!!) so I take issue with it even being called a real bypass since there’s literally no way to do it without still being exposed to ranged attacks from the mobs and you’re also not going inside any of the geometry either. (unless video proof shows otherwise)

Keep in mind… this is the Dredge one we’re talking about.
Anet should have changed it by now b/c it’s obvious that everyone HATES IT.
…especially at higher levels.

^Would rather be a total elitist than a Poseur elitist…

What dungeon will be the next AC/CoF once CoF is nerfed? We all know that is what will happen. They will find it and all go there and grind it over and over.

CoE is already farmed and it gives quite a good amount of gold through charged cores/lodestones.

Yeah it is farmed… but that farming was started by True Elitists, not pure Rote-memory / rote-build pseudo Elitists. Most COF1 players will have to evolve beyond their First-Tier Optimal playstyles in order to start farming it.

You’re also ignoring the fact here that Colin told us Lodestones would start dropping from ALL CHAMPIONS. So there goes the biggest reason we farmed COE and pretty much only COE for the charged variety in the first place. (AR dungeon will also be addded to Fractals which will bring that up to 2 possible instances inside Fractals that can also drop/salvage Charged stones …. and then possibly a THIRD route if Kiel pulls out an upset here and the Reactor Disaster becomes the next Fractal after that)

God kitten it Erasculio…. every now and then, you make a solid thesis that I just can’t argue with. >:\

MY biggest worry is that these players will still keep trying to do dungeons and also end up in our Arah and AC runs where we’ll have to explain to them how the rest of the game works. …. OR they’ll much-more likely end up in our Orr Temple fights where they just become a liability to everyone by standing directly on top of the Fragile NPC’s we have to escort (INSTEAD OF OFF TO THE SIDE WHERE THEY SHOULD BE) and only halfway kill all those mobs… which instantly puts the mobs into Enraged Status along with huge aggro & then those mobs just instantly nuke our Escort NPC’s too. Not kidding or unjustly generalizing these players either… I’ve watched them stand right on top of Jonez and then snipe the champs Wraith & then the Priest himself like only true idiots would after failing to read map chat where a Commander already specifically told them NOT TO DO THAT.

….It’s similar to why we’d never invite Fendi shadowfarmers to our DOA runs… We didn’t want half-dead mobs scattering with full Enrage Buff. There was a reason we ran lots of spike Mesmers & CC there instead of Sliver gimmicks & COF bond-monk Smiting.

.

It’s funny because every opinion I have, OP is directly opposite to it. It’s like we’re nemesis’ ;D.

Get used to it, there’s atleast 8 more years of it ahead if my past 5 years on the wiki has been anything to go off of.

sPvP-Why is it Unpopular?

ONE WORD:
*MATCHMAKING. *

…. same exact thing that KILLED CODEX too and Anet didn’t learn their lesson then either. It just didn’t have any REAL MATCHMAKING the first month this game went live. Therefore most entry-level players gave up.

I’m still astounded everytime I see a new MMO or e-sport wannabe game launch without proper ELO and Ladder and Matchmaking systems that separate Guild Teams from Pub teams. Tribes failed hard there. Mechwarrior Online failed even Harder and that POS is on life support right now with less players actually playing it than any previous major MW game since Ghost Bear’s Legacy. … I mean for crying out loud, even APB actually had some kind of ELO system based into its mission ranking system YET that game was relaunched on a shoe-string budget & has been the laughing stock of F2P games ever since. …so what the hell is everyone else’s excuse??

I could go on here… but it’s already been pointed out to Anet that they have a serious problem in this area ever since GvG first started floundering and attracting fewer and fewer newcomers. …and that was… what, 3 months after Nightfall came out??

Perhaps you should have posted this in the PvP subforum as well for a different reaction. PvErs have a generally sour view toward sPvP.

B/c they can’t ever find Tiered fights against other newcomers, DUH.
Do I have to invoke RA & Costume Brawl Tournament promotion here?
They’re not jaded b/c they love ONLY PvE and never want to be in PvP.
They’re Jaded b/c sPvP is full of rank snobs who’d rather farm newbs than mingle with them. This is one of the only really skill-based communities to ever exist that has this Souring Viewpoint to begin with. Hell on Guru they used to ban you for even mentioning Rank Elitism. The oldschool portion of this community is one of the Worst PvP communities in the HISTORY OF GAMING and they refuse to admit it even though some of them also play other PvP games that are much much better and more supportive.

…Also it doesn’t help that sometime during Factions, the game’s PvE community magically changed from being the horrible BattleNet-Tier standard it started out as, to one of the best in RPG’ing ranking up there with DAOC, COH, BG, and several other very inclusive RPG’s. IoW: PvP started facing some real uphill competition for popularity.

I had some Warrior yesterday from YB (no surprise there) with a Twighlight & fancy skin rifle chasing and beating on my Ranger for like 4 solid minutes but still couldn’t down me. And I wasn’t even in my Dungeon Gear … I was still wearing my MagicFind Gear and only had HealingSpring (not Unguent) & no condition removal traits set either.

If they can pop rampage or w/e it is now, and actually down me in my full Regen Tanking setup, then I’ll be impressed but until I see that, all I have is pity for PvP wars. (especially ones with really expensive skins but no friends).

Guardian was my first 80 just b/c I knew ahead of time I could screw up my timing & skill rotations left and right and still just waltz through every bit of content and .. dungeons too. … and I was right! kitten it was easy. Never kicked from a single team either.

Before Beta we were actually taking Bets on this whole thing on Guru… Everyone was pretty sure the holy trin then was going to be Guar/War/Ele. For the most part it was around release until Anet changed Ele a lot and made it a class with actual Depth. (they still need to do that with Mesmer & Warrior tho)

But TL’DR summary: Most people didn’t believe Anet for a second when they said there’d be no Trinity or must have classes for this kind of stuff

c) so much more to say, but to keep it short: your field of vision seems very limited – maybe you should not judge about any class so naive. Every class has some guys who realy mastered their clas and who are able to be very very effective in pve content also.

I agree completely with the rest of your points… but …It’s just not the case with Ranger and Engie. There’s like 1 viable build for each one, and NEITHER of those are for the more advanced PvE content. Granted one of them was for sPvP and is still getting nerfplz complaints while the other one WAS for sPvP and apparently was so good it had to be nerfed. I’m not claiming I’ve mastered Ranger, but I am saying I’ve taken it to the plateu overlooking that last horizon in WvW & Arah. …I’m not impressed. Even Gw1 Ranger had a higher ceiling than this :\

CM story is still easy compared to explorables, though.

I don’t know about that… I mean compare the Hounds and also the Basement dwellers with huge spike Knockdowns…. to say, the Buttler Path where all you gotta do is just basically kill the Thug first and pretty much faceroll everything else in it (except for the Rocket Turret hallways but even n00bs who never played TF2 can figure that one out). MOST newer players, especially near the 40-50 level range are not going to have any ways of dealing with KD and Fear spam. Then go ahead an compare it to COF1 for even more laughs…

CM story definitely still has some places where you need smart pulling (just like GW1 missions did!…which is AWESOME!!). CM’s explorables by comparison, I think it’s only the Asuran Inventor path where you need smart pulling and coordination sometimes? Some people say Seraph path is the hardest but I did it with a PuG who really broke it down into it’s bare mechanics and it was EASY. A lot easier than when I did it with my casual guild last winter.

And no, saying that Pulling is fun or that there is an art to it doesn’t make me a Bad.
It’s NOT an exploit of the AI either. So don’t even start. Many times it was intended.

Perma-stealth backstab theives

in WvW

Posted by: ilr.9675

ilr.9675

I agree…. Perma Stealth IS a pile of crap. It doesn’t make Thieves anymore effective in WvW and it definitely doesn’t get them the same rewards of better built classes.

This is partially because roaming is only good for getting a couple Badges here and there. It’s hard for tryhards to admit it, but honestly they KNOW they’re only playing some little mini-game here that really has no major impact on the Rankings week after week. And we were constantly asking for some Meta overhauls here, but what did we get instead this Spring? ….A stupid Title Grind based off the Canthan Title track that is easily 6 years out of Date now and won’t be “Retro” again anytime soon.

So yeah… there’s only ONE REASON for any of this garbage to exist and it’s for Bad Trolly players to troll other Bad players with. Even my completely worthless Ranger is laughing at these thieves who barely get a 15k BS off if they’re lucky, then just watch me instantly Regen back to 100% like I’m kittening Wolverine.

It’s tedious, and just encourages bad habits. It needs something better in its place plz.
Just give it the ShadowForm treatment & completely GET RID of any huge DPS components and give them real Group Utility instead when they use stealth to reach the back lines of a Zerg. I don’t KNOW HOW to do that or what needs to happen …. maybe some kind of multi-target Scorpion Wire or crazy Stealing everything-in-sight all-at-once that puts them on tier with Mesmers using surprise butt-kitten Portals?

I’m all total kitten PvE carebear and stuff, and even I’d love to know why this is taking such an unglodly amount of time to happen? At this rate Halflife3 will beat it. And it’s not like PvP is completely ignored obviously… there’s more skill balance changes (and always has been for 6 out of the 8 years this franchise was running) than ANY of us in PvE were wanting to see every month or every couple of months.

And those changes aren’t all just XLS document revisions… no, some of those involve writing completely new code. Or atleast linking with a mess of other complex code. Yet something like Skill-Splits that SHOULD only require changing a 0 to a 1 and adding another field below it…. we never see any of those, unless it was for the warrior maybe and even then it wasn’t NEARLY enough of them to balance them between PvP & PvE obviously…

And then add to that… the FACT, yes this is still a FACT, Anet has some of the best Coders and Netcoders especially in the industry. This isn’t lip service b/c I’m obviously ripping on them pretty hard for everything else they’re NOT DOING but should be. No look at SoE for example… Sooooo much money still, so much hype, yet their new propriety Game Engine (that’s supposed to be a rip off of Cry-Engine but for 250+ players in a single area) Is a complete joke with Culling Problems compared to what Habib accomplished with this engine in WvW. And what does Sony do in response to their conglomorate-wide crap coding standards?? They put out a new Console instead that’s literally just a top-end PC disguised as a Console. And strike more marketing deals with PC hardware makers to keep pushing their playerbase into just buying more and more “latest hardware” that still gags on their awful coding.

So yeah, this is a total mystery. …. why these really simple little missing pieces of code persist …when stuff like complete overhauls of the U.I., Databases, & game-engine themselves have been arriving on a regular basis all year long.

I’ve see lots of comments from lots of top level players in all sorts of games, the old “We don’t like boring fights against complete newbs, anymore than they like fighting us”. And very little of the complaints about the format (other than people who just wanted “TA” back, aka: standard 4vs4 premades … ) were about it being a bad format. So yeah it was definitely a matchmaking issue as well as lack of real tournament support.

Obviously that won’t fix sPvP alone when the only game mode is Conquest (which tends to hyperfocus everything on only string of viable builds per class) …but it was probably the biggest single failing for sPvP at launch as far as my friends were concerned who WANTED to do sPvP but kept getting completely mismatched against either laughable randoms, or, unbeatables like [KOSS]

We were told this in Gw1…. that a format that put randoms together, against Premades, was going to be revised. It never happened and Codex died way too early of a death because of it. Also the lack of ladder matching or ensuring that complete newby premades don’t get pit against a team that would roll them all in 8 seconds. that’s a case sadly where you just have to tell the Uber team “Sorry, the matchmaking can’t find a team for you…. please split up and fight eachother instead”.

It’s really an issue with Nobles mass Shadow-Stepping… and also the Acolyte Vets who for some reason summon “Boomers” … usually the instant they start casting infact which is a bug with ALL summoning Vets it seems (Krait Mesmers especially) where you basically have 0.25 seconds to start interrupting it or you’re getting a huge bunch of spawns that kind of scale to how many players are nearby.

I mean if you memorize where EVERY SINGLE Mob will spawn like I’m doing… then it stops seeming so Zerg based. But that’s after like … weeks of doing it. And that’s the only way I see it getting done too, is having several players at every single spawn location because the game will usually give you NO TIME to protect the Pact from Mass Shadowstepping Nobles … and not enough Telegraphing time to INT the Veteran Acolytes either.

I need to re-record a Video of where they are what to basically do.. but it’s really hard when GW2 zergs eat into your physical Memory so much, LOL. (then the video doesn’t want to save afterwards)

.

And yes, I’ve seen it fail PLENTY OF TIMES with over 50 players as well so just throwing more numbers at it isn’t much better

Dungeons are boring and easy. There needs to be a hard mode. A mode where you have to think even after doing the dungeon 100 times similar to sPvP.

That’s basically impossible without some kind of Deep-Blue tier undertaking in A.I. development which Anet is NOT going to mess with and even if they could, they’d only add it to sPvP so people could fight Bots all day for some stupid skin Grinding Reward like they do in League.

There wasn’t a single HM Dungeon in Gw1 that couldn’t be beaten with cheese/gimmicks. That’s why it was called build wars. We’ve got more positioning now, we even have dodging, physics, and some jump puzzle mechanics coming into play in some of these encounters. I think that’s as good as it’s going to get. Am I saying they’re difficult already? No of course not. I wasn’t even impressed by Path4 TBH and that used to be what everyone thought was “Hard mode”.

What I’m saying… is that if you keep asking for Harder Stuff, you’re only going to get ARTIFICIAL DIFFICULTY. (google that term up if you don’t know what it means).

Arah speculation

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: ilr.9675

ilr.9675

Do you think Arah P4 will finally be rewarding? (Like UW in GW1?)

From what I saw of it… There’s lots of possibility here.

  • There’s 5 Priests … all of them Legendary? (Legendary mob drops > Champions).
  • There’s even more Chests. I think we got a chest in part of it for not even killing any Boss… though I forgot what that exact activity was.
  • Lupi is still part of it, and he’s super fast kill with Pain Inver….. Err, I mean Feedback
  • for a first time pug, it can take 4 hours or more.

So I would personally assume… that not only would we get better Cores/Lodes than most other dungeons… we may (MAYYY) even get some of those new account bound Materials that you’re normally only supposed to get from beating those Legendaries in Open World zergs. That would be extremely interesting if it was the case since the path itself doesn’t really play favorites (there’s a lot of places where 4 Melee Warriors & a Mesmer actually face a lot more unblockable damage than a team of Engies & Rangers would)

I think the only thing that would make it more epic, is if there was also Priest of Abbadon. AND the Wraith summoning guy was actually the Priest of Dhuum and you had an Envoy of Grenth NPC there to actually fight him directly so that the Priest himself did a lot more than just stand there watching you play Whackamole with his stupid Wraiths. (Most boring fight in whole PATH!… even dumber than AC path 3) ….IE: when you defeated a Wraith, it would drop a Bundle which you would have to throw directly at either the Priest, or the Envoy depending on what was happening. (and they’d be moving around a lot themselves)

One thing this game dose horrible is letting folks know what is where, and what there is for you to do. I mean I made it to lvl 80 and as far as I can tell none of the dungeons have been part of that progression at any time, they do not come up in the story either.

^notice the .guildwars2.com part? yeah, Anet hosts it. They even let us have a version of democratic/freespeech on it, unlike these forums.

So any suggestions on what I spend my time doing?

Don't make more Ascended stuff

I’m more worried about whether or not we’re going to get shafted because the whole our skills scale like kitten (compared to other profs) and our pet gets NO bonus for our gear.

This

Every single powercreep update in Gear … consumables .. and … just about everything else… continually makes our pets and thus US —> WORSE b/c those pets do NOT receive those buffs/enhancements like they really should. (in PvE … NOT in sPvP where you can’t even use any of that crap in the first place)

WvW roaming GS build that isn't BM or spirit?

in Ranger

ilr.9675

I’ve been trying GS in Roaming… No I don’t die unless I Decide to (which is more often than you’d expect, just b/c it’s not a serious format, not by a long shot).

But I also don’t find it Burst’able. Therefore no one else dies either unless my CC rotations are perfect and there’s a second person focusing my target with me. (which is probably how Anet has always intended PvP to work … otherwise they never would have nerfed Dagger rangers & “Palm’asins” in Gw1 … or Sniper Warriors in Beta)

I gotta agree with the people saying Valkyrie gear … Perma Fury should be standard for any stats-obsessed ranger. I gave some random Ranger from the boards here 3 goss Valk insigs just to test how it enhanced their build. I think it just makes a LOT more sense currently than Zerkers for Rangers.

Spirits should follow you untraited

in Ranger

I’d rather they didn’t.

Maybe you people sit at range all day… but I prefer melee and the LAST place I want that squishy little spirit is right next to me getting cleaved while I’m tanking or evading the Boss. EDIT: Yeah okay if they skill split them to be immune to AoE’s/Cleaving in PvE (which miiiiight still be sorta balanced in WvW too), then yeah, go ahead and have them follow me I guess… but that’s a big IF for a class that Anet seems to be ignoring as hard as this one is being ignored.

+1 great idea.

….Though it doesn’t mean they can’t do something to make the Norn Forms better. They really ARE among the absolute, absolute WORST elites in the game, instant Suicide in WvW, …and there isn’t a single Dungeon encounter where they’re a “good idea” to use either. WE GET IT…. URSAN (meta) WAS A PLAGUE in Gw1 that we DO NOT WANT TO REVISIT… but come’on. That doesn’t mean you go to the other extreme “just to be safe”

I find it weird that Mist Wolf got a nice buff recently (TY FOR THAT!!!) …yet Forms were left in a much deeper crap hole.

Double the precursor drop rate

ilr.9675

I actually have to agree with Smith on this one.

I’ll do all kinds of crazy things and suffer 6+ hours a day of masochism in the most bugged Dungeons they’ve got but I took one look at Legendaries during the 2+ weeks of their discovery and instantly said No way Jose`. A piece of gear isn’t my idea of end-game when it takes 5x longer than all the other “End Game” put together to get. …just for what… 5%-10% more damage once all is said and done?? I get that just from exploiting the superior Holloween Sigil or popping a Potent potion and tweaking a single trait. And that doesn’t even begin to touch on how much more damage you can milk out of Weapon Swapping and positioning… IE: actual skill.

Meanwhile, if the Precursor only took … maybe what… 125% longer to get than the Black Moa Chick in Gw1 took? ….then I’d definitely start working on ONE legendary. I have no idea which one, but I’d begin the journey and start eating into the Supply of components for whichever one it was… (especially if they brought back MY BABY…)

Fractals is technically a dungeon… not sure why the OP left that out…..

I get my ascended gear currently from the WvW Vendors… so I imagine that would be one guaranteed source as well, assuming either Armor or Weapons are next

Charged Lodestone drop rate decreased? (7/16)

in Crafting

Posted by: ilr.9675

ilr.9675

I’ve gotten absolutely no lodestones… here comes another one of Anet’s apologies for “accidentally” nerfing the drop rate on precious drops. I’m getting really tired of these accidental nerfs to things that I actually want to farm once in a blue moon. I think I’ll go play some WoW where they have a steady drop rate.

Well in this case, I really WOULD believe it’s accidental… just b/c like I said, there’s several other Bugs happening to the content directly adjacent to these gemstone Sources

good riddance discriminatory pub scrubs who couldn’t even handle Crucible.
…bring on the MultiRun Money Making Wrecking-Crews…
Your path will now be rewarded for its girth and length
Inb4 Arah P1 Ooze gets farmed for kittenstones :p

CoE will take throne before the plaque reach Arah.

NOPE … chuck testa

Face it… the Submarine … easily the easiest b/c it’s the most toned-down version of Alpha (but not the quickest)… still requires them to play the lazer jump puzzle, the Console-alernating minigame, and the most annoying of all…. George of the Jungle Norn Guy who’d rather chase people AROUND the columns than into them b/c Anet’s A.I. can’t handle slight offsets in ground elevation.

Okay sure a few of them miiiight be able to handle the Destroyer lava room assuming their mommies and daddies bought them brand new i7’s/FX8000s (meanwhile GW2 only uses 2 cores to their full capacity most times anyway, LOL). But golem billiards in the other path will probably take even longer for them than George of the Svanir.

ALSO: the main reason we farm COE is for the Cores… but people will be able to just farm Champs in the Open world for those instead soon. So COE will have competition finally.

Yeah… this BETTER be what they’re talking about in the Blog today.

They PROMISED us they weren’t going to just add a bunch more random utility & Elites to this game because that’s what made balancing the last game so difficult for them (THEIR WORDS).

Lots more Weapon Bars?? Yes, please do it. Start with Pole Arms and Torch as a Mainhand. Those are guaranteed Crowd Pleasers even if the skills end up sucking.

PS: Warrior Polearm obviously needs to be something to be a lot more Maneuverability & Condition-shedding Focused b/c they already have TOO MUCH pure DPS bars…. just like a Necro Pole Arm needs to be more personal-Defense based and some other stuff focused on Traits that I don’t personally understand yet b/c I don’t really play Necro nearly enough…. but the point stands!!

This really makes me want to ask my Guild (my Gw1 guild) … what they’d think of me playing mostly Ranger in WvW with them even though they tend to run 30-man parties usually and my incredibly low-vitality Guardian with like 1000+ healing & even more boonstacking is always better there? (or a PowBlood nec /w wells build I’m still in the middle of gearing for roaming-spiking). If I can find an innocent way to bring it up, I think I will … even though I feel like they just roll their eyes at how much time I’ve spent on that Ranger alt lately. (and even killed a few of them in WvW b/c we were on opposing servers )

Where exactly is the Ranger on skill curve?

in Ranger

ilr.9675

Thank you everyone else for your Corroboration. Agree…Disagree… I think it’s all useful either way

I was talking about your reference to the Extra Credits video…I don’t know how I could’ve made it any clearer. The video makes no sense in the context of the discussion…And that’s the problem, people just link EC to seem smart or whatever, and they always fail to be relevant. I haven’t told a single Ranger or anyone else they’re “doing it wrong”.

And with regards to the title question. No prof is hard to learn…the only ones that think any prof is hard are the ones playing it, I guess they need some reckognition_[sic]_.

This is coincidental and incredibly misdirected. But it’s also really off topic so I’m not going to dissect what’s incorrect in your posts. …Nor do I need an EC episode to make a case for me. EC tends to jump around too much and be too General infact. Meanwhile, my IQ, Vocabulary, and also important: Grammar, is well enough above the norm …and I’m well aware of it to the point that any attempts on your behalf for a veiled personal attack there, is a complete dead end. So stop… You’re only damaging your own extra credibility here.

If you don’t understand the key concept of what can feel punishing to others about this class, then just say so or try listening for it better. Please. There’s no reason to go on the offensive when the only motive here is to gather examples & testimony

.

(since sword auto delays dodging slightly)

EDIT: Clarification required…. Do you mean when Auto-Attack is specifically on? Because I’m finding even with auto-attack OFF, that I have to anticipate about 400ms ahead in everything I do because even first or second attacks in the chain without auto-attack, FEELS like either the server or client or BOTH, is demanding that the full animation plays before it lets me actually cancel any of them and go straight into the Hornet Evade or the Viper Evade. Possibly by Design?? I can’t even imagine how this must feel to ppl with AutoAttack on in crowded areas where there’s also “Skill (Activation) Lag”

And in PvP, a Ranger will mostly feel like damage output is too low, because the pet is not consistently hitting (or is dead) like in PvE. So it’s basically like playing two playstyles. One playstyle relies on the pet, the other tries to make up for the lack of damage.

I find snippets like this… a lot more informative for some reason than all the advice and lecturing from the number crunchers for some reason. So upon reading it , I decided to run around WvW looking for some test cases, IoW: ppl who could run forever without being boxed in by the Conquest format. …Yeah I think I see what you mean.

They also told me I’d have to basically apply a cover condition every 2 seconds just to keep cripple on them… (not only so I could keep up with them myself, but so that my pets could even make contact). They divided and conquered by forcing unexpected 1v1’s and simply couldn’t be downed…also told me the only good ranger there was something called RRR build. I’m guessing that’s some gimmick that lets the pet actually deal damage still? Regardless… it felt like their personal positions on skill curves was a game changer in general

I love when people refer to extra credits completly wrong. To date I have yet seen a single reference that made sense.

Fortunately for you, no one even has to read the original post to answer the question.
This isn’t a Quiz, there is no right answer. Rangers I talk to in-game seem really pleased with their performance even tho I’m quietly unimpressed when I watch them face more difficult areas of the game. But I respect them all the same and I don’t tell them they’re “doing it wrong” like you just have

Are you going to offer an opinion on the class or not?

If I was looking for an offtopic arguement with YOU, I would have gone into one of your build threads to point out how much better they’d be with Devs who actually played this class in a non-trolling fashion.

Please stick to the topic of how difficult this class is for EVERYONE. Not just you and me. We both know we could have a 1337-off competition in much more productive venues than this Chopps…
