What’s the deal with these?

NSP just failed it twice in a row b/c it seems like there’s a lot more of them now.
More importantly, What exactly does Anet expect us to do to stop them?

Even when they DO render for us, they just look like every other mobs so it’s impossible to pick them out of the crowds in these ambushes and so targeting & CC’ing them in time takes an act of the Gods… ShadowStepping Nobles were bad enough.

So really, what are we expected to do here when they’re already scripted to run right past us human players, and they run just as fast as every other unusually quick undead soldier? Is it intended behavior for them 1-shot the entire Pact all at once??

  • Evasive Purity: This trait will now functions as expected.

Well, what did you expect?

Well, I expected some semblance of proper Grammar atleast…

I mean what does it say when about them, when 90% of the notes are all cash shop items in perfect prose while they don’t even bother to get all 3 ducks in the same row for this class’ notes? …

I was expecting nerfs to be honest

This is even sadder… but yeah I have to agree with it given current trends.
Especially after I just found a way to get ALL of my Boon-duration Bonuses over 50% (which is something I never found a way to do with my Dervish’s enchantments in the First game without COMPLETELY neutering it in every other way) and also extended my 10 lousy seconds of Swiftness from Nature’s voice into a full 17 seconds… I honestly expected to get about 2 weeks of enjoyment out of it before that’s stripped away just like everything else that’s ever been creative or viable about this class.

  • Too bad there’s still a big Cast-Animation & delay on “Guard” while no other shouts in the game have a Cast delay b/c shouts have NEVER had delays. WTH is that about?? It’s literally the SHORTEST line that any class ever shouts

Issue with pets and proposed fix

in Ranger

Posted by: ilr.9675

ilr.9675

What are your guys thoughts?

TBH… I’m honestly getting really sick of these suggestions that marginalize the pets down to being a mascot or non-combat mini-pet at best. Especially these ones that keep demanding we do more damage universally compared to our pets. You know people will still complain nomatter what, right? Even 10% won’t be overlooked.

I think we just need a PvE skill split like we got in Gw1 that actually lets us use or atleast benefit from our Pets all the time in PvE. And it has to be something that stacks, and is based on combat conditions (read: Player skill curve & pet choice). Not just blanket buffs to Ranger DPS that make Bears the only thing worth running, EVER. For example, How does your suggestion in any way bring Eagles & Cats back into PvE?

Can you answer that?

Think you’re just wasting your time Aden… I’m not seeing any signs here these guys are listening or even have the capability to. The dungeon forum is usually just as bad though when it comes to Lupicus. It’s a confusing fight in general where the most important mechanics of it (and illusions of where “safety” actually is) are usually the last thing anyone talks about b/c they’d rather stroke their own egos first.

fact is, that a few days before a new patch the first items start to rise and that are often the important ones with the most profit.
ouh, for sure, it´s rng. ( rng has nothing to do with that)

That’s got any number of very likely explanations… the most obvious ones being the Power Gamers in the Guilds of Anet designer’s who’ve always gotten little perks here and there. … and in a few cases.. just dumb luck even.

Try to explain why I bought 1000 saffron 2 or 3 days before the StarCake recipe was introduced. B/c I sure can’t, I never buy anything in any kind of volume. I just remember staring at one of the latest recipes they’d added with the sentinel stuff and suddenly there was pattern while it was like someone was poking my motivation with a sharp stick from another dimension; so I just did it.

…but only b/c ppl in the media are basically all thumbs at everything.

How many people remember watching the first “Hands on Combat” videos of all these bads in the media and it was literally NOTHING close to how most of us even played Gw1 where you’re SUPPOSED to stand still most of the time unless you’re herding stuff up to be nuked. I remember that stuff being so painful to watch….

What makes anyone think most media’zens/bloggers have that hardcore edge to execute properly on said knowledge? B/c most of it is STILL always going to be about timing & coordination. And if their combat mouse-to-skill bar 1 1 1 2 1 1’ing was any indicator… then I ain’t even gotta finish this sentence

Well since Time Warp supposedly helps rangers even more than warriors, I’d say something in the ballpark of 10 seconds.

What really keeps haunting me about this one… shouldn’t even be their raw DPS. Shouldn’t it be the additional PROJECTILES (for all the extra pets?) that he’d put out??

So stop playing your ranger and start playing your ele more. You’re getting kicked because you’re a ranger and rangers suck. Do you seriously not have an issue with being a burden to the team? When did people in mmo’s stop caring about being an asset to their team?

Any exceptional player can carry a team on any class….
I’m surprised this even has to be mentioned in a game so based on Timing.

.

Though I’ll agree, Rangers have a strong negative reputation for having the worst players due to the numbers of bugs and shortcomings they have to face. Assuming they’re ever skill split for PvE however, you’ll suddenly see the opposite reaction where ppl would start saying they’re TOO good b/c … well… that’s what happens when you’re used to running Marathons with training weights still attached (and they’re suddenly released).

I’ll be honest… Mine hasn’t been kicked from any Pugs yet.
Then again I don’t farm, & I never let my pet wander off on its own.
Tanking a Boss in melee & never dying is also a good way to show ppl you mean business…

Most of these CoF p1 war are alts that are almost never used anywhere else used by people who have no idea you can run a zerk group in other dungeons since said farming groups don’t even know how to dodge

Definitely agree with this…
And when I DO see ppl like that in other dungeons in their COF zerk gear… they’re usually the ones I’m rezzing :p

It can’t really be a Build that relies on Minions/Turrets/Clones.
And It can’t be a class that relies on Spike damage from the Shadows/Distance.

I’m guessing that really only leaves Guar/War/Ele :\

And even then, the actual pay-off is no where near their current market value…
They’re basically a crutch for lazy folks who can’t be arsed to switch into a second armor-set when they need to change specialties. And financially, it’s more cost effective to do that anyway even if you have to buy another bag slot just to do it…

You too can be invited to this test krewe. Be a positive, non-trolling member of the community and created objective, constructive and non-trolling threads. Keep your head cool at all times in the forums and in-game. One day you might get a PM with attached Non Disclosure Agreement inviting you to the Test Krewe.

^ Lie

Also a bad philosophy in General and the main reason things are so bugged and exploitable still. IoW: If all you do is invite the sheep/mice of the game, all you’ll get is meager casual testing and meek feedback at best. Anet’s problem since 2005 has always been that’s it AFRAID to work with a team of Rivals. And they’ve always built everything around Cronyism. Once it even got them in hot water over a scandal involving preferential treatment to non-employees in their shiverpeak themed Guild. It wasn’t quite CCP-tier of corruption… but their history shows they have no respect for people who think differently from them and they avoid as much as they can; anyone who doesn’t suck up to them all the time and tell them everything’s sunshine & lemondrops. (this also caused a huge falling out between them and Guru — which I was actually relieved by to be honest, but I digress).

Though there’s also the problem highlighted by past Test Krewe members who eventually quit from the first one they built. Infact It just so happened to be the main reason I DIDN’T join the Krewe when I had the opportunity: IE: that they would only use them for a very narrow line of bug-catching (mostly UI/graphic) and ignore them completely on major exploits and game-breaking imbalances on skill functions & Utility.

YOU CAN’T IGNORE TESTERS ON BALANCE/ABUSE ISSUES and still call it “Testing”.
That alone is a huge black eye for the entire industry when it comes to Testing.
The manpower to actually deal with it is there. They’re just not listening.

In Open World: It’s faceroll for all.

YES, this is definitely something that needs to be separated as a Category from regular PvE b/c the only place it becomes a trial of any kind is in Orr. It should just be called solo-PvE or “Exploring” because it didn’t exist in Gw1 towards mid-game & late game unless ya had one of the broken classes that could just permanently ignore all Mob Spells while taking on groups intended for 6-8 players to be fighting at once. PvE has always been a Team activity, and when one class in particular is getting kicked out of the activities that require a Team… it’s pretty clear that it’s not Ele’s. Ele’s were never kicked out of PvE teams in GW1 either, they were just told to run Ether Renewel instead and be a Bond Monk :p

But considering you’re in a format that’s already a ghost town, it’s hard to care.

To be fair though… for WvW atleast, their Kill shots were definitely over-nerfed in Beta.

What “mechanics”???

It spawns 5 Scavengers now and most classes don’t have perma Stability nor does “stun breakers” get you out of it. Don’t blame the community for this one. This is 100% the Dev’s faults for not PvE splitting Stability to more PvE skills for more classes in PvE while drowning the Dungeons in Pull & Knock down causing Mobs.

not be so ridiculous to begin with that you’d even have to mention something like that
Shadow Behemouth, Jungle Wurm, Shatterer & Maw & probably whatever else…. really aren’t scaling right OTOH and so they’re on the other extreme of cheapening Rares a bit too much. (it’s probably the only thing keeping COF’s inflationary effects in check)
