Looking at Halloween and how we had skins seemingly discontinued and the candy corn changed what do you think we can expect from the Wintersday items? There were many more involved in Wintersday than the Halloween- do you think all of that is going to be revamped like the candy corn or the vendors and skins will stay the same as last year? We had I think 4 minis we could make.. do you think we will get new craft able minis with the same recipe or will it be the same 4? Some of the weapon skins were popular last year and others fell short- will these be discontinued like the Halloween ones? Then we had the ugly sweaters, socks, and hats… are we going to get something new to do with these?

So thoughts- worth investing or too risky with the changes we saw in Halloween?

I don’t really see the comparison to the last time. those knights were selling for like 1s each. You could forge thousands of them without a problem.

Scarlet and Caithe are >5g each. at 20g a forge you are averaging 100g per exotic. You’ll almost always come out with a loss. If people are selling minis for less it is because they are desperately trying to recoup some of the money they lost trying this.

Completely wrong, bid prices have been around 4 to 4.5g for many days now which is 16g a forge so you end up spending 80g for 5 tries and most of the time you’ll get a set 1 rare which resells back for 8g after taxes. You lose more like 40-50g per exotic (IF YOU AVERAGE 1 PER 5) but getting the Moa or Twisted wouldn’t help you and getting a dry streak of 30 would probably hurt too much.

I actually got a good 80 of these mini’s in one night for 3.6g each and make about 600g with average results but that was like a week ago when most exotics were 140-160g and I also got lucky and never got a Moa or Twisted exotic.

Still braver than I would have been lol! Wow 80 in the forge I would have cried after I lost all my money.

People learned how to craft them for themselves? I know I would not pay more than what it costs to craft.

Are these new legendary things coming out this year?

I can’t decide if I should just go through and make the Kraitkin by selling all the things I have saved up for anticipation of new legendaries or keep waiting and hope they come out soon. I made rodgort and love it and have decided to try to have a legendary for every weapon for my main and kraitkin is the only other one I really like from this set that she can equip- but it is an underwater weapon.

Do you think that the new legendaries have any chance of happening before next year? If they might would it be better to wait and save my mats for them?

I really like Scarlet, but then I have always really liked Harley Quinn and they are very similar. I find her dialog to be entertaining and kind of funny.

I think they both look great. I was very tempted to buy the Bloody Prince outfit but since I just bought a pirate one I am going to pass this year.. but still.. yeah I will probably buy it before it goes lol!

They were never guaranteed. Took me about 150 tries for 77 clovers- maybe more

I think charging for ports is not going to work and is a bad idea. I never charge just offer a port when I am there for a few mins.. and I never tip when I get one. It is not like it costs anything to put a port down. It is more just doing something nice for your community than trying to make gold.

-Edit to add also 10 silver for a port is insane. Do you even get 10 silver out of a chest for the most part? I know I don’t.

I use it in pve. I use the buffs to share with my signet. I also use the buff to rez if needed since it usually gives aegis and gives me a few extra seconds to take damage to get them back up.

That being said, before it go up, there need some way to deplete the dragon coffer. Which will take a long time.

Button line is it’ll be pretty hard for it to go up too much. Because everyone who is a collector probably already get the minis they want.

If people arn’t buying the minis for 1 gold from the trading post, they arn’t paying 5 gold worth of a gem to buy from the gem store. I dont’ think being discontinued will affect it that much.

I believe you can but for a common quality (blue) it would cost almost 4 gold to forge it so unless the price is over 4 gold and worth the risk of not getting the one you want it seems like a waste.

Placed some buy orders.. money is gone and cannot see the buy orders and nothing sold to me.

yeah I saw that post as well.. I guess I might as well hang on to them then :P I would think that making the gifts have more purposes would be better than coming up with a whole new one.. but who knows!

What do you think the chances are of these using the gifts that are already available in game- Like gift of color, entertainment, ect? I was thinking about holding on to things in the gifts in case they are needed in a future legendary .. but maybe they might be something new all together?

Last year during the scavenger hunt you learned he is crazy but very evil as well. I guess those that missed it last year really do not get to hear his story. It was pretty crazy.

Yes they can. I only have one but I was able to put it in the forge not low enough for me to risk 20 gold

Someone had a guess that they may be in the dungeon that is released later. I could see that happening.

I am with you. I was so excited about this event last year. It seems like the team last year put their heart into it for the players. This year meh. There was a candy corn skin vendor so you could have a Halloween skin for a few hours- gone. The Halloween weapons you can make- now outrageously priced to craft. The blacklion weapons even though people got upset at the drop rate, they made a fix so you could get another chance in the mf- to make the players happy. Finally the scavenger hunt was really cool and fun to follow.

All and all I am with you on this event.. it is lackluster and feels like not much effort was put into it. I like the story and am following it. Maybe it was because it was all so new last year idk but this year.. definatly not as cool.

I would like to see a change to scepter that you could choose to not have a clone made. You really can’t get a phantasm build with scepter because of it popping out clones.

That will never happen. But you can get most of that over to your other character with transmutation crystals and the transmutation splitters.

No way to know for sure since it is the first set to go. I would say they will get no higher than it would cost to forge. So I am guessing blues no higher than 4 gold greens 4-8gold and yellows and rare no idea.

Does the karma infusion increase the amount of karma gained from hearts? Also would like to know if karma food and buffs increase this as well. I have a new character to get world exploration on and wondering if it is worth the laurels to get the infusion.

I just wish we could know for sure.. some kind of answer. I only bought 50 and changed my mind and sold them back asap… but I have been here since headstart and all keep thinking is all the bans… like the norn karma weapons, the chili poppers, the snowflakes, and now I am scared to lose my account I know it was only 50 but still I have doubt and until it is resolved I will be worried.

Well regardless this post has made me paranoid. I bought a couple and promptly sold them at a loss because I would be so sad if I got banned from buying them. I really doubt they will ban people for buying them but now I have doubt and I bought some so I get to be scared until it is resolved

I don’t think they can ban you for buying them.. what I am worried about is that they could just disappear from inventory.

After that date- not from the gem store. I am not sure what time Monday they are gone or if it is Tuesday before the patch but after that you will not see them in the gem store unless it is a special sale.

Well considering a 20 slot bag is over 12 gold on the ah I would hope it is cheaper than what they are listed at and if it is considerably cheaper then I think there will be a good demand for candy corn. The 20 slot bag is something I am interested in for sure.

I dumped what I had at a little over 1s. People buying this to actually use are dumb. This stuff was ridiculously easy to get the first time round.

They are incredibly ugly and undesirable unlike ff dyes. IMO speculation due to the performance of ff dyes is the only thing keeping them as high as they are right now.

I found acrid to be really pretty. But to each his own. I think they look just as good as flare and that one is really high for what it is imo.

So getting a couple now may work out? Gahh I guess I will try it and find out :P I know the other limited dyes went to around 10 gold less than they are now so fingers crossed.

These 2 dyes out of the new packs are both under 10 gold. The last set of limited dyes that were on the low price end seemed to stay around 15-25 gold. This being the last weekend for these dyes until a special sell would it be a good investment? I personally really like Acrid and was surprised to see it hit under 6 gold for buy orders, so really not sure what to expect with it. Any thoughts?

This would be an instant buy with cash from me if I could swap my consortium scythe to an alt while I use it. Now I just get to have conflict with myself on buying it.. at the moment the no do not buy it argument is winning since I cannot justify having the old one sit unused in my bank.

With the news of being able to trade in candy corn the price has gone up on it. I am curious about the other crafting mats though. The plastic fangs, skulls, and nougat. Nothing was mentioned about those. Do you think there will be new crafting recipes for these or are they going to be left out in the cold?

Yeah. The mining tool I was fine passing on.. but I kind of like the jack in the box, however having a tool that cost 10 buck sit in my bank is not going to happen.

Have not played a ranger in a bit but maybe use guard and stick him somewhere away from fire?

Are these new skins from the aether chests or drops in the dungeon?

I thought you had to stand on the platform after each go.. I have only run it 2 times but each time we all just stayed on our platform and 1 got the holo.

My ecto rate from my mystic kit is horrible.. actually about ready to just vendor and buy an ecto for every yellow.

I think that it may be part of the precursor.. but I was more curious if our discoveries are going to be reset on cooking.

I was just thinking about cooking and if we have to get it to 500 in the future. So much of cooking is discovery. Do you think that these will be reset like the weapons where?

Had no problem on my mesmer. You need to stack on that fight so I took staff for buffs on the group but stayed in mostly sword/sword. Dodge and sword 2 are very helpful here. We did not mess with the adds to break the shield just let him get his attack up. I would then use decoy ( I am traited for pu) and then I would use my signent to share my defense buffs with the group. I used just about every weapon going through that dungeon though- as a mesmer I think you should have every weapon ready to go just in case.

Just completed it tonight. I enjoyed it very much.

I just wish they would quite with the face masks for light armor. Even if you like them most of them clip the hair so badly it makes me crazy. Why make something that bugs out like that. I will never show something that clips. This one is no exception with the hair I have now on my memser.. it is horrible with clipping everywhere.

I agree the price is absurd, and I won’t buy it. But people seem to be getting mad over the fact that it’s available in the game and that somehow this is setting a terrible precedent. I can understand rage against boosters or even unlimited gathering items, but trait reset? Out of all things?

If you want to get mad, get mad at the price, not at the item itself.

It’s as if people are complaining for the sake of complaining.

People are mad because the item used to be a tradeable item (adept manuals used to do the same thing but they removed this functionality recently). So yes, people have the right to be mad at the item itself. They took an item that already existed and linked it to real money.

So people used adept manuals to do this before.. I never think of these things. So I guess now those do not reset your traits or what?

I would prefer an expansion, but I still play the game and have fun. I really hope there is one added at some point though. Honestly I have had more fun leveling a new character the past month than the new things added.

Edit to say- I do like living story it just has gotten to the point that I get the achievements and move on. I just wish an expansion was on the horizon to go with the living story.
