I believe they will rise. It may be longer than people are willing to wait though. There are a lot of people holding them in hopes of a profit in a a few months. I am thinking we will see another dump when people need their gold back from the dyes they invested in or they simply grow impatient. I also think that there is a chance that if (hopefully when) new legendaries are in game that they could very well use the gifts that are already available. There is a high chance, in my mind, that there could be a new legendary that will require gift of color. That is when there will be a very large profit. Who knows how long away that is though.

I didn’t care for this light armor and had not seen the male one. That is quite a differance. I would love for a sleek light armor like the heavy and med get. A nice covering pant set that can be tight if you like. I really really want some nice light armor pants with no weird skirt attached more than anything .

I agree. I had a few runes and sigils I could not get out. I just trashed the items since there was nothing I could do- even sell it. I guess lucky for me it was older armors and not high priced sigils/runes but it still stinks to just trash it.

It will take some time, but if they release a new legendary that takes gift of color you will be happy you had some on hand. Also I think many people were opening their extras in hope for a abyss or other expensive rare dye. Making the dye sets through cooking is kind of expensive as well. I don’t think that the unidentified dyes will ever be really expensive but I figure they should get to around 1 gold.. who knows how long that will take though.

Oh I thought they got rid of those for some reason. Guess I will just sell the armor then. Thanks!

I am guessing there is no way to get the runes out of these things now? I can’t even transmute them. Is there any way I am over looking to get the runes out?

I think the only reason they didn’t remove Unidentified Dye from the game is because they are leaving the recipe as is.

Yeah, This is why I am not selling mine.. I had slowly been getting them in case I ever needed gift of color. Better safe than sorry I suppose.

The dyes are crazy right now. I am guessing that people are getting them to turn them into unidentified dyes on other characters after the patch? No idea but seems risky to pay the prices some of these are up to.

Those orders were filled so fast when they were at 4-5 gold. I am sure there are tons out there.

My fear from this- if it happens- Is that the gemstore sets like flame and frost ect will become account bound. So you can have the dye across all your characters but you have to open it yourself from the gemstore rng pack.

That does make sense with a blade type thing being added.. ok sold my 10 :P Hope I don’t cry if that does not happen and I want to make them :P

Chances are they will not be a drop anymore. I got 10 of the color I liked just in case I wanted to ever make the back.

I agree this achievement is frustrating. I think people just did not read the requirements and thought they had to only kill the spider.. so many people would be like “What no achieve?” like they think it is bugged. I would think after the first few days it would be common practice to kill cocoons, but what do I know :P I still do not have this achievement ankitten ot really trying anymore honestly. Such a simple concept but yeah… people just don’t do what is required.

If the mesmer bug gets fixed I think I will be very happy with this look but those phantasms are not going to work with giant squares all around them.

The armor glow totally ruins mesmer phantasms. -_- I wish I knew about this before buying it. I like the blue skin tbh, makes my character look like an avatar of dwayna.. but it totally diminishes individualization. Zodiac should be an entire race by itself.

That’s pretty awful looking, I was thinking about getting a light version of this for my human mesmer but I think I’ll skip it for now.

IKR.. it ruins the experience of playing with a mesmer character when your phantasms are totally whack.

It is pretty bad. I put in a support ticket because if you have 3 phantasms out it is pretty ugly and distracting.

I got this just to check it out. I think that it looks much better on than in the preview. I will agree with some of the other posts that the blue (although a cool idea and neat effect) takes away from the really great design of the other armor. I would like to have it without the effect.

As much as I would love for my characters to share a dye pallet I can pretty much guarantee you it will not happen. I have collected every dye on 1 character and buy select dyes on others. If they were account bound it would not make anet money. People who like dyes spend a lot on them and if they only had to buy them once then anet will lose sells in the long run. Just wait until a new race is released.. or a new profession then they can run a promo with all their exclusive dyes and rake in the money.

I just wanted to say I loved the old flame kissed and was sad to lose it but customer support on the issue of not liking the new one was amazing. So thank you for that.

Well, now you know how people that bought the old digital deluxe upgrade felt when they added heroic edition items to new purchases of the digital deluxe upgrade.

Except i received the heroic stuff upon that update, myself being a digital deluxe pre-purchaser. A chest with shiny set of profane armour along with some boosters and bags arrived to me via in-game mail.

Just curious if we will see any limited edition red dyes. Seems to be red and greys are the only ones missing now. Seems like they could fit with valentines

I like that they come back.. You know how insane the prices would be if they didn’t.. and then what if they make a new profession and you want to make it your main and want those dyes on it? It would be way to expensive. I guess the people that are crying about losing money on the dyes should learn to sell when they are ahead. I know I have made a mistake on not selling soon enough so I have set guide lines on selling things earlier. You may make a tiny bit less but it is better than losing out.

No they usually do not. Even if it was a bug that caused you to lose something they will not give it back.

If you are wanting to keep the current look and the current stat set then the only way outside of crafting an new set is to get the transmutation splitters- as said before it would probably be cheaper to just make a new stat set though.

If you just want the look on a new set then just use transmutation crystals and you will lose the old stat set but keep the look.

I cannot decide what I want to make here. I was pretty set on celestial since I change my build often but I am leaning towards beserker now. I am only willing to make one of these sets. What is everyone that is making ascended making that you think will give you the most use out of the cost of this set?

Well I doubt that and sincerely hope that is not the plan. If you add something like that to the gemstore that cannot be realistically avoided that is going to cause some issues with the player base.

No it is way over priced. As I said in another thread it should be about the price of a transmutation crystal because the only thing it is good for it preserving a skin.

I would buy this with CASH real money if it was worth it. It is cheaper to buy gems if you really want to go that route and exchange them for gold and buy whatever sigil or rune you were wanting to extract. These, as they are priced now, are for a very niche audience. High end fractal runners that want to get their infusions out maybe laurels.. but really that would be a waste imo.

If that was the intent then good job I guess, but if the goal was to make money off ALL or majority the players in the game then the price is entirely too high for what this is.

In my opinion it should have been close to the cost of a transmutation crystal because the only reason to use these imo, would be to save a skin instead of overwriting it to try out a new look.

Anyway, they are in the game this is the price Anet chose and I will not be purchasing them and just thought it was worth it to point out to Anet that they actually lost a sale (real money) from this ridiculous price. Had they been a reasonable price I would have probably purchased these at least once a month to change my full gear look.

The problem with that is that the cost of gem to gold will be rising as well. I cannot see it ever costing more than changing the gem to gold over. And again.. if I craft a rune or sigil to use and just want to put a skin over that it will be cheaper than these items. The only reason to use it would be to save the skin- which seems would be cheaper to just buy a new one as well.

I highly doubt these will ever be a valuable item. At this cost you may as well just use the trasmutation splitter since they cost the same and seem to give you the same results.

I guess the fractal runners are the target audience for these items since the infusions are the only thing that people seem to be excited about with these. I guess more people run those than I figured if they did not want to even consider the rune and sigils in the cost of these.

I would just like to add that this cost on the extractor actually causes them to lose money from me because if I buy something from the tp I use game currency and from the gemstore I use real money. So if I am having to buy the same runes and sigils over again I will use game currency. Had these been a cost effective way to change my look they would have easily gotten real money out of me for the extractors.

The price of gold fluctuates and is out of the control of Anet. I doubt they consider the price of gold at all, since the items in the gem shop were created months before they appear there. That makes it impossible to say “in six months it will take X gold to buy 100 gems, so the price of the item should be…”

The price in gems would instead be based on what they want to make in real money from the item, according to sales projections over a certain period of time. The ones handed out for free (via gold to gems conversion) are worth $0 so they are probably not considered in the calculations.

In essence, the items you buy with gold are gifts, and people complain that they should get more gifts because they don’t want to have to give Anet money for the content instead.

Even if you look at it as the gemstore price a skin cost 800 gems – less than the extractors so in essence it is cheaper to buy a new skin then to use these. If you are going to lose that. Over all I think they just made them way to costly for what they are. I don’t know maybe they will sell a bunch.. but I doubt it.

And I was talking about buying these with real money. I can transfer the gems to gold- which is constantly increasing -and buy the runes or sigils for less than this item. Overall in my opinion they did not think the price of this through.

I was really looking forward to this since I like to change my look and use the traveler runes. The price on this is too high. I do not know how you decide the prices to use but if it is cheaper for me to buy a new set of runes- any rune available on the tp- then to use this I do not see the purpose. Even if I where to use it to remove a sigil from a weapon for 250 gems it is still considerably more expensive than to buy any sigil on the tp. I am not sure how the prices are determined for these kinds of things but if you are wanting to get cash money from people it should be a some sort of savings.. not cost more to use it.

those are not the same cogs- we are talking about mystic cogs that were account bound that you got in the Infinarium last year and combined in the Forge with the frames, stuffing and glue to make the toy mini’s.

if I recall you got 150- 200 cogs from the end chest. Just shy of enough for one mini

So the guy who says he has 2 stacks- that is impossible- we are not talking about the same cogs.

You got a few cogs last year. I ended up able to craft 3 minis last year and have 200 in the bank still. I guess I will trash them because it is unlikely they will be used again.

Not sure what the recipes cost now but it may be cheaper to just craft them than try your luck with the forge. It cost me about 10 gold to make the tonics. There is no more glue or stuffing entering the game so it could get costly if you do not get the tonic early on.

Ok well use all your gold for large gifts then. I am telling you it is a waste and trying to save you gold. They may very well drop from something.. I am pretty sure it is not large gifts.

I can almost guarantee you they are not in large gifts. I have heard.. not sure.. they may be from the personal gifts from the mini games. I would highly recommend not spending money on gifts for them. In fact if you really just want 1 maybe buy it in the next day or so.. see if it drops any if not take that as a sign they are not dropping. These are so odd. There are a few showing up but are they drops or in people’s banks?

I think it was always a chance.. but not sure if they changed it completely. I was thinking about doing that as well.. but after your story I think I should wait until snowflakes are cheaper lol.

Yeah I was debating just buying that and throwing them in the forge.. maybe I will get the dolylak one :P I was just curious how bad the odds where though. I had a couple from last year so it was not too expensive.

I have all the tonics now.. but am curious what the odds are of getting the endless toymaker tonic if I put them in the forge- really just for bag space purposes.. I don’t really want to lose my tonics though

It is so weird lol. I bought 1 just in case because I had sold mine last month assuming they would be back. What makes me really believe that they are not available anymore is that the lower sigils have not changed in price either. It is either that or extremely rare. Looking at the mini Ho-ho tron which is also rare you would think there would have been at least as many sigils added to the market as the mini if they are both a really rare drop. I believe there are far more minis that have been found in the past few days then sigils.

Guess we will see in 3 or 4 weeks what the price shows :P
