Oh my…
Thank you Anet
and thank you OP for letting us know. =)
Extreme joy right now.
The question is directed to Anet devs just for clarification.
So Queen’s Speech was the name of the next patch following Queen’s Jubilee. Then the website was vandalised. Now we have Clockwork Chaos instead.
Is this just simply a name change OR is there any content in Queen’s Speech that is not delivered in this patch but will be after Clockwork Chaos?
Basically, is Queen’s Speech and Clockwork Chaos the same patch in terms of planned added contents, just changed name for some reasons?
Thanks for your time. Sorry in advance if my question is poorly-worded.

I must say that I too found the flow to be off. It is “explained” but very very poorly. For many I am sure that this would lead to frustration and then the inevitable log out like myself and the OP.
Most are explained on the official patch guide that is displayed on the client in the news section. However, I wholeheartedly agree that more in-game game should be available for those who tend to skip reading the client and log straight into the game. Maybe an in-game website link?
I know people do not like having to go to a 3rd party site for information. I do not like doing that to find a dungeon group. But I am sold on Dulfy’s site and her wonderful guides. If you need help, they hand hold you all the way through. She does a better job at disseminating info than Anet does.
I was not referrring to Dulfy’s guide but this: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/clockwork-chaos-guide/
I usually start out with this ‘mini-guide’ first before I get stuck and seek help from Dulfy’s encyclopedia =).
People go easy on Scarlet. She’s just fresh out graduated from 3 colleges with her PhD thesis: Evil Masterplan to destroy Tyria and achieve world domination.
I think she spent a lot of time studying for straight A+s with no break, parties and certainly not enough work experience in real life (Proof: tricked by a mesmer clone and exhibiting some mental breakdown syndromes).
Are you sure you need to do around 13-15 invasions? I haven’t tried it out yet but people have been saying 5 is the requirement.

OP clearly not here to seek information. He/she is just here to vent. We need another helpful approach, like cookies?
It’s quite clear that Anet with their policies do not encourage farming through repetition of a single type of content. Anet want us to the play and explore the game throughout all types of contents.
Ok so the zodiac is chinese zodiac, i thought i could get something cool for my Gemini look. =) On a bright side, i won’t need to put much effort to get any of the skins then.
Check this spoiler-free official guide by Anet first:

@OP: This should help you. I think it is intended that players read this guide for every single LS patch.

@OP: A phantasm build for your mesmer may make it a bit easier for you to beat Liadri. Summon your almighty phantasm and start running and never look back (talking about phase 2).
Hi all,
Just want to throw my suggestions out there on weapons to be added in the future for ALL PROFESSIONS
My suggestions are based on a mix of popular demand, need for niche weapons and to go well with each profession theme. So here we go:
New types of weapons:
- Polearms: like spears, halberds, lances, etc. – 2H melee with good cleave radius
- Fist weapons: like katars, wristblades, gauntlets, etc. – MH/OH melee very high damage with extremely close range, and no cleave
- Whips: MH melee AoE with low dmg but high CC capability
New weapons for each profession:
Warrior:
- Polearm (2H)
- Fist weapon (MH/OH)
Guardian:
- MH Shield: 1200 ranged throwing autoattack
- Fist weapon (MH/OH)
Engineer:
- Hammer (2H)
- Fist weapons (MH)
Ranger:
- Polearm (2H)
- Whip (MH)
Thief:
- Fist weapon (MH/OH)
- Whip (MH)
Necromancer:
- Torch (OH)
- Fist weapon (MH)
Mesmer:
- Pistol (MH)
- Whip (MH)
Elementalist:
- Sword (MH)
- Torch (OH)
Feel free to discuss and give your own ideas/ thoughts but please be constructive.
Cheers,
When I view all the professions, they seem to have at least 2 topic’s devoted to there mechanic’s, including ‘Skill Video’s’. When I click the Ranger, it’s lackluster and the only profession without Skill video’s. Anet!…
I just checked out the website and it’s like you said, it’s kinda sad really.
But again, my human ranger grew up as a street rat in personal story, ironically befitting the state of the class. /sigh
They need a trait line where the ranger if standing still long enough will start to blend into their environment. Not stealth, but camouflage. Where if you look closely enough you can see them.
That would be awesome. It is quite technically feasible now, just make it so that it appears transparent like when you stealth yourself, but enemies also see you as transparent (so like semi-stealth without dropping target). Anet, make it happen =)
Would make TW have a shorter CD in some builds, and Elites are elites, no shorter CD. Therefore no Glamour skill.
False. Warriors have an Elite signet, Rangers have an Elite Survival skill, Thieves have an Elite Venom, Elementalists have an Elite Glyph, Necromancers have an Elite Minion.
All of those can be affected by Traits that lower cooldown or cause additional effects. In fact, Mesmer is one of the only classes without an Elite that can be modified by Traits.
You forgot Mass Invisibility.
My take on the MH pistol, names are subject to change.
#1: Quick Shot (1/4s range: 1200): normal shot, deals decent dmg
Debilitating Shot (1/2s range: 1200): apply Vulnerability
Illusionary Stream (1s range: 1200): shoot out slow-moving stream of butterflies that hits in a line and apply Confusion.
#2: Phase Dash (1/2s range: 900): throw your pistol to the target, deals minor damage, then dash (something like dashing clone in iLeap) to the target, dealing high damage upon crashing into them.
Temporal Recall (1/4s): create a clone at your position and teleport back to the original position before you Phase Dash.
#3: Shattered Bullet (2s channel range: 900, 1200 if traited): shoot a crystal shard that repeatedly shatters on impact dealing AoE dmg and bleed as you channel the skill. Total hits: 8
Make it an actual Leap, currently it is a dash, should have at least changed the name iDash so not as misleading.
Even if we didn’t have pets, Power would still be subpar on the Ranger like it is most classes who don’t have Stealth or some Obscene Mechanic.
Rangers do have stealth.
What we have is no where near what Stealth Truly is, I have a Thief….I can stay Perma Stealthed all day long, and that’s technically not even that classes mechanic (Steal is)
Stealth is part of thief class mechanic. I’m getting tired of correcting people about this.
Check the website: https://www.guildwars2.com/en-gb/the-game/professions/thief/
Stealth has always been thief’s superior expertise. No other class should even come close.
Hi all,
Just thought i create this thread as a networking hub to help people group up in game helping one another to beat Liadri. I’m aware this might be redundant given there are already LFG tools on the internet and in-game.
So if you’re comfortable with it, you can reply and follow the format to share your contact information in-game:
Character name:
Server:
Play time (in PST or GMT):
Goal: could be any of the following
- to beat Liadri with/without 8 crystals achievement
- help revive
- coach, give useful tips and tricks, build advice, etc.
- buff others before fight
- or simply just interested in a casual chat, watch or cheer your fellow players while waiting outside
Feel free to provide extra information but please refrain from saying anything negative. Thank you
I’ll go first as an example:
Character name: Sharon Florence
Server: Eredon Terrace (US)
Play time: ~7.00am – 11.00am (PST) (I live in Australia -_-)
Goal: help revive, casual chat, cheer, exchange useful tips.
Thank you and be an angel.
Melee pistol anyone? Cleaving bullets?
Or punching pistol?
Punch boxing as autoattack?
I’m thinking the first two posts did not read the OP…….at all. Stiofan is not ASKING to be given the mini. He/She is simply asking if they will have another shot at in the future if he/she can not beat Liadri this time around.
Ain’t that the truth? Still I admit the thread title is a bit misleading.
It’s definitely possible, even better, bring guardians into the rotation as well, they have good reflect & immobilize skills.
@op: i think u can still beat her in the future when the gauntlet returns and get your mini/achievement. But dont give up yet theres still time for u to improve until QJ ends. Good luck.
I guess people just refuse to adapt to whatever they’ve given to work with.
Take Megaman as an example, in the very first versions (as compared to later and more advanced ones) he can’t charge his attack, can’t slide but still people beat the game.
Now that explains why a gauntlet dome platform opens and drops players after 2 minutes. It can only hold that long.
And here I thought reading at the title that normal players trying to earn their achievements would have to wait longer to get their chances because farming’s now more widespread [valid], but no, I had to stumble upon a baddie that can’t even handle a T3 farm let alone do it fast, complain that other players that are trying to get their event content (incl mini) are bothering his farming efficiency. Yak dung.
Man I do T3 5G for about 600tickets a day but I still love to /cheer , give tips, revive others, take time to alt tab to update threads for those with problems. Go buy some plot in Alaska and dig your gold in total isolation of hummanity.
This gauntlet thing does really bring out the best and worst of the community, doesn’t it?
I think Jennah to Logan is more like a bossy yet mature sister to a hot-headed younger brother. .
Ok, this is my understanding so far about the pulling orbs. Projectiles do not work on it and you will get “Obstructed” message, other than that, other types of attack should destroy it in 1 hit (melee, aoe, non-projectile ranged, etc.)
So… is there anything stopping me from starting a portal when I get the “You are up next and will be transported shortly” and opening the other end inside so I can bring an entire guild-zerg in there with me to settle her hash?
Portal doesn’t work. I tried it out of curiosity seeing how sometimes it glitches and more than 1 person end up in the dome.
Watch this http://youtu.be/KYAjo4ZZXLo and you can feel happy about yourself.
wow….. never thought this is possible this is pro….. cheating man… lol
I was amazed by it that someone knows the game mechanic that well…back to main topic… the only thing i call cheating is turn of post effects…
which I did…. but not sure why anet want to punish player that has better computer…
I guess i can’t complain much since we can turn it off… lol
If you set graphics at high and turn on post processing, you can still see the AoE marks through the blind screen if you have good eyes.
Although i didn’t beat them on a thief, just thought i share with you my kill order: Stitches (because she heals the team), Captain (because he buffs dmg for the whole team), after those two, the rest should be relatively easy. Kite with CC helps.
I think 20/20/30/0/0 trait setup would give u a lot of survivability and flexibility. Here’s an example of a condition build based on the trait setup:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fgAQNArfWlwzKqHVTmGb9IipHBHyBckUUavWJF62FC-jQyAINBRaBIhJQpwomDHyY1sIasK5FVrux0xAyAwsGA-e
Hope this helps.
@DayTrooper: have u tried Arcane Thievery, give the cripple back to her would make it easier for you to kite and avoid her lunge I suppose. Just my 2cents.
I think Reaper of Grenth would do the trick as well as DS =)
This is pretty good. Well done.
I read somewhere that sword/pistol can be as viable as a GS in dungeons as long as you’re using it properly. Of course, I can use it regardless, but I’d rather see if it’s true or not before I level up a mesmer on the side and plan to use it in dungeons with sword/pistol.
EDIT: I mean in a Zerker power build, instead of using a GS.
I try to answer without getting sidetracked: Yes
I’d say remove the +range and make the 100% trigger chance the point. and maybe give it +15% crit chance or so for bleed-proccing purposes?
iDuelist has 15% chance to execute Deadeye’s Headshot… JK
I like your suggestion, I find that the increase to 1200 range is hardly noticeable.
I see people easily farm this boss all day, but meanwhile I had the hardest time beating him on my necromancer (because we don’t have invincibility skills)…. ughhh…..
Yes, there clearly is a balance issue here. For some classes this boss is just way too easy to farm, while for others he is way too difficult in comparison.
Melee thief has it super easy. They just shadowstep near to him (don’t even need to navigate through the minefield) so he can’t headshot from distance, permablind all other attacks. It usually takes like 10-20 seconds each run for a decent full dps specced thief.
I’m not bashing thief class by the way, i don’t mind people farming him.
But OP clearly has some issues.

interrupting and confusion is counter productive. You interrupt someone and stop them using skills for a short time for which time confusion is useless. The short duration of confusion doesn’t help this either. Also is the 10 sec of confusion on interrupt include the 30% increase from the rune or is it actually 13 sec? Can it be increased to 17.3-20 sec with traits and food?
I think confusion sorta acts like a counter to break stun skill, but whether it’s effective or not, i can’t tell.
(edited by keenlam.4753)
From my understanding, you can’t used Ranged attacks (bow, pistol, rifle) to kill the orbs.
You can use Ranged attacks IN MELEE RANGE to kill the orbs. It’s just wierd but keep that in mind so you don’t have to switch weapons. Also, if you’re downed, autoattack seems to work at range for some reason.
I thought this bug was fixed some months ago?
It still procs a 100% chance shooting through an ethereal field. I think part of the problem is we don’t know for sure if this is even a bug or intended with the trait.
I hope it’s intended so we can stack confusion seeing how weak its dmg is.
Please Anet, it’s much easier to update the tooltip right?
I actually want a complete rework of iMage. He just seems completely out of place comparing to other phantasms we have on weapon skills.
See:
- iWarden uses Axe and does an attack that look like Whirling Defense (Ranger’s Axe #5)
- iDuelist uses Pistol and attacks like Thief’s Unload
- iBerserker uses Greatsword and attacks like Warrior’s Whirling Attack
- iSwordman uses Sword and attacks like Warrior’s Savage Leap
- even iWarlock throws a slow-moving orb like Guardian’s Orb of Wrath
so iMage wields a staff and does an attack with bouncing projectile that grants retaliation and inflict Confusion. Nothing to do with him being a mage or fiery theme related to torch whatsoever.
So my take on iMage is that his attack is an slow-moving fireball that explodes on hit, burst dmg scaled with power, the fireball also set allies on fire on its path and allies on fire will inflict burning if they get hit by enemies.
so this skill will cater for both power-based and condition builds.
I think the pulling orbs can only be destroyed at melee range, either with melee or ranged attacks. It’s funny how it works.
I think a standard phantasm build look like this:
20/20/0/30/0
Traits: Domination III X, Dueling II X, Inspiration II IV VIII
Link to build: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fgEQNAR8alwzKqHVzhGb9IypHMH0tckUoapWJF42FC-j0xAYLBZCCMZJQJvioxWzKiGruGT5SEVDA-w
Over 100 tries, finally beat her in downed state and a split second before the clones and aoe got me. That was so close.
Mesmer: 20/20/0/30/0 standard phantasm build
Traits: Domination III X, Dueling II X, Inspiration IV VI VIII
Utilities: Signet of Inspiration, Blink, Arcane Thievery, and Hounds of Balthazar Elite.
Full zerker gear with Centaur Runes
Endurance regen food and Sharpening Stone buff
Just want to say thanks to EVERY SINGLE PERSON who was there to support, exchange tips, and most importantly revive me for countless times, basically whoever have been going through hell with me. If u guys happen to read this post, I am the mesmer named Sharon Florence in game. Wish u guys best luck in case you haven’t beat her yet.
Comments and my tips about the fight:
Bugs and glitches and technical issues aside, the fight was hard. It penalizes you for any mistake you make and you have little to recover from such mistakes.
Phase 1:
- Sword #2 and Blink for desperate escape to safe zone.
- Focus #4 and #5 to reflect her attacks so you worry less about your health and more about positioning to grab the orbs
- GS #5 to push back visions either to get the orb or when you get cornered by them
But I think my best advice in phase 2 is: you don’t need to face Liadri all the time, in fact, you don’t need to have LoS on her at all with mesmer, it’s more important to turn camera around to be extremely aware of the surroundings. Sometimes, those Visions can sneak up on you and go boom. Or those random pulling orbs.
Phase 2:
- Kite her around but stay near to centre (but not on the central tile since it gets hit by AoE all the time) to get to safe spot more quickly, even if you are crippled. This way you can save your dodge when you get pulled by the cosmic orb and when Liadri get a jump on you.
- I think the best way to deal dmg to her on this phase is via summons or conditions since yourself will have to run non-stop and probably won’t be facing her much to deal direct dmg by yourself to her.
Last of all, I think the fight again yet sill favors full dps specced over more tanky type because by killing her faster, you are less likely to make mistake over time because if you do, it’s all over.
Best of luck to everyone out there still fighting the good fight against her.
PS: About to set her on fire.
(edited by keenlam.4753)
The title could be ‘Overcame the camera, floor, lag and bugs’.
+1
Agree. We need content to bring people together instead of dividing the playerbase into casuals vs elites then rage at each other.
@ArmageddonAsh:
scepter #2, sword #4, and aegis are blocks to proc Retaliatory Shield.
If you use scepter + OH sword (traited), each block skill will have 12s CD. With +100% boon duration, you will have 6s of retaliation when u block, that means you can chain your two blocks to get 100% retaliation uptime already. On top of that, you have Prismatic Understanding, Signet of Inspiration, Chaos Storm for more retal sources.
PS: I agree with you that CoF needs some buff.
