I doubt readyboost will improve GW2 load times. The game file is compressed into a single ~15GB file so the CPU will spend time decrypting it anyways. Even on a SSD load time isn’t much faster than a normal HD.

Maybe its to deter fraudulent transaction. I’ve played other MMO where they stopped their digital sales and favored physical media card for that purpose. Outsource the transaction to limit their fraud liabilities.

Tried both, one at a time, and neither of them allowed a connection to be made. They confirm that Guild Wars 2 is “Waiting for Connection” or they just sit there and say “Connected” above “Game Connection.” Also tried Pingzapper, changing my password, and checking for attempted connections on my account (it says there is a current connection from here when I first tried to connect, so GW2 is contacting the server, but it doesn’t give me a disconnection option, and it never even got to the login).

This is probably their problem, not ours…

Interesting how you said it works at your friends house, but not with VPN service at your own. Something is fishy there. Did you use your own machine on your friends connection or their machine?

Doubt you will get a refund back after playing from lv1-80. Minimum spec = minimum performance. (see Part 2.1)

you used max settings on the 660ti, did you use max settings on the 6870?

settings like shadow and reflection when set to max will bog down the CPU affecting FPS. (see Part 4.2)

MSI Afterburner is a nice alternative tool as well.

Looking at the specs they should perform roughly the same

• are you measuring FPS in the same places?
• one has integrated GPU, while the other has a dedicated GPU.
• are you driver etc installed/updated etc

Every CPU overclocks differently and also depends on the motherboard you are using etc.

As for how well your system will run, look at this thread.

Looks like your CPU is bottlenecking. Turn down Reflections and Shadows settings. Those affect CPU load a lot.

306.97 works fine with MSI afterburner, but 310.70 onward crashes. But least there is workaround for the issue.

If you think it was related to Razer Game booster, do a system restore to a prior date and test.

I don’t use EVGA PrecisionX tools, but MSI Afterburner OSD also crashes. Workaround is to enable compatibility with modified direct3d runtime libraries.

If you use DMZ it bypasses the SPI on the router which is causing issues for some, but you are left naked to the internet and must rely on software firewall.

Replace the Netgear 6300’s firmware with DD-WRT is an alternative.

Seems like GW2 servers having a few hiccups today. The forum is loading slow too at times.

If you were going for the B75 to save money, a regular non K version of the 3570 would have saved you a tiny bit more money. B75 won’t be able to take advantage of the unlock multiplier in the 3570k for overclocking. IMO, its worth overclocking and usually needed in GW2 if you play heavy WvW.

If the game worked before and doesn’t after formatting, then you are missing something that isn’t installed like drivers or updates etc.

try updating directx or previous version of the video driver.

Move the GW2 folder elsewhere and/or check the folder permissions.
