The only exclusive skyhammer stream
(edited by kirito.4138)
On a typical desktop there are tons of stuff running in the background one of which might be holding up CPU cycles.
Look for something that is eating alot of CPU% other than GW2.exe
(edited by kirito.4138)
Your GPU is running at 1x PCI-E, should be 16. Did you install the card in a 16x slot or check bios settings.

You can get 30+fps WvW with 2500k OC, it can handle more than 4Ghz easily especially with the Evo cooler. You might want to upgrade your 5750, but it will work with lowered settings. If you decide you want better visuals you can always upgrade the GPU later.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Post-your-FPS-System-spec-here/first#post558553 skim through this might give you a feel of what GPU to get.
Don’t think you can map mouse button in GW2 as combo.
However you can use 3rd party software like I have different letter keys mapped to my mouse buttons using logitech setpoint software.
I’m still running 306.97 fine.
Is your GPU able to pass stress test like Furmark or OCCT? Could be slowly dying hardware?
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html
AMD fx 8350 scores 1533
Intel i5-3570 scores 2014
seems about right for higher fps with the intel
100% CPU on all cores of a sandy bridge i7… that seems suspicious something in the background is running slowing the CPU down. GW2 shouldn’t be able to in its current form to get 100% load on all cores. (Read Q8 as to why)
Your GPU is not being utilize because the CPU is being bottlenecked for one reason or another and unable to instruct the GPU to work. (See Q4 for details)
try the suggestion in Q14 here
search for GW2 torrent, they exist.
Assuming your whole internet doesn’t drop the server is probably been flakey lately.
Updated drivers?
I get that sometimes too. Maybe they are trickle downloading incremental segments for a future patch.
you probably have GMA X4500 which is older and much weaker than HD 3000. Higher model# doesnt always mean better. Its confusing like that.
X4500 is a 4th generation intel graphics. HD3000 is a 6th generation.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Intel_graphics_processing_units
Even if you have a HD 3000, its bare bare bare min requirement and the game won’t run that well.
Since you have a GMA 4500 odds are your CPU is probably not strong enough to run the game.

Can you log into ventrilo outside of GW2?
Check your GPU bus speed (See Q3.8 for details)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memory_leak it has nothing to do with fans =]
You should check your cpu/gpu temperatures. It might be overheating and slowing down performance.
oh look. some with the name as me.
Neways, do you mean you want mouse3 and key 1 combo to be binded?
you can always roll back drivers to see if it still happens.
I would say no. You want at least triple your cpu score.
LoL, thats not possible this year. maybe in 2014.
delete your local.dat or -repair command argument or check firewall settings or it could be server is slow atm.
Don’t think there are official recommended specs for GW2, prob a reason lol.
its having problem accessing C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\Gw2.tmp Could be due to file permissions in windows or 3rd party app holding it hostage. Try admin mode installation or try the -repair command argument
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html
It scores 1070. Smoothly in what areas? If you are just questing in PVE it will be fine 30-60fps. But Cities/Heavy WvW it will suffer 10-25fps
(edited by kirito.4138)
Must be something funky with your OS configuration. Best route now is a clean/fresh install of Windows OS from scratch to avoid lingering conflicts. Too many variables to narrow down, unless you want to spend more time investigating.
That or just copy the GW2.dat file (~15GB) or copy the whole GW2 folder over from a friend that successfully installed it.

(Read Question#11 to see what the developer have said about engine optimizations. )
I have a Q6600 desktop and its very playable overclocked to 3.2Ghz. PVE 40-60fps. 20-30fps cities and WvW is a snail lol.

Probably want to ask in the MAC tech forum.
Get 64bit. Windows 7 is supported by GW2. Windows 8 works, but isn’t officially supported yet so YMMV. Win7 Home or Win8 regular non-pro is fine for gaming.
(edited by kirito.4138)
GW2 is very CPU-intensive. Since you didnt list your friend’s complete spec, his cpu probably is better. (See Q3 herefor details, reading the rest will likely answer all your subsequent questions.)
Here are posts of people’s spec & fps to give you a sense of how GW2 performs.
Your CPU is rather low on this list.

Why would you want to make all files read-only?
Anyways, you might have 3rd party software installed that is conflicting or some odd configuration in your OS.
If you don’t want to hunt for such things, the fastest way to rule out those type of issues is a clean installation of the operating system.
Browse through this post to get a feel.

WvW is all about CPU power. Get a 3570k version. Lets you overclock. It will do very well. Probably doesn’t get much better than that atm.
try installing with admin? Error shows its having problem accessing the files in tmp
2GB of ram as in “free” available ram.
Having 4GB in 32bit due to its limitations will only give you about 3GB. Windows will eat about 1-1.5GB away so you are now barely at 2GB free. But, ontop of that any 3rd party software installed will chip away with background process so it will be below 2GB.
try fiddling with teamspeak overlay.
But the screenshot you posted seems like you have a problems with bootfiles on your windows installation or trying to boot over the network. Seems unrelated to the teamspeak/mumble issue.
bought a higher spec pc
Yea, but he never listed his system pc. Could actually be worse or marginally better than min spec req. (e.g having higher #‘s on hardware names doesn’t mean its better)
However, there are official recommend specs.
Those official specs are “minimum” specs to run the game. So low settings is expected.
(Q2 of this thread for detail)
When you authenticate yourself there is a checkbox to remember IP/Location
I can’t start or run Guild Wars 2.exe without it instantly crashing. Here is the error code:

Try a -repair on GW2.
looks like its having trouble loading files
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Command_line_arguments use the -windowed command argument.
On a multicore CPU, GW2 won’t reach full load on your 6cores.
(Read Q8 of this thread for details)
Your specs are high for most things that can utilize multiple cores efficiently. But in gaming and especially GW2 it doesn’t. AMD performance in gaming is generally lower than INTEL (Read Q15 for details)

Try fullscreen windowed mode?
Works fine with my iPhone. Probably something to do with your browser way of handling certs on the windows phone.
I have a Q6600 machine but overclocked to 3.2GHZ. I am able to get 40-60FPS in PVE, but cities like Lion Arch it drops to ~20fps.
However, I also built another system and using a 3570K 4.2GHZ and saw my FPS jump 2-3×.
But your machine should be able to break 20fps in PVE world. Something might be finicky with your triple GPU setup. Try playing with one 680.
Read this thread and try troubleshooting.
$750 would be like the ideal system to run GW2. You don’t really have to go that far to get a playable system. You can build systems for ~$350 (example)
Now there are also the options of buying a used computer for less if you are on a strict budget and know what to look for. You won’t get the best system, but for sure it will be able to play better than 5fps. I got a old AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ system worth less than $150 on used market and even it can get 15-25FPS.
btw chances of refund are very low especially after its opened and used.
if its in-game settings you can just delete your local.dat file to restore to default settings.
if it is hardware try doing some stress tests with furmarks/memtest86
Might try updating the mobo chipset drivers too.
Try installing as administrator privileges
Might want to try using DriveSweeper to clean out video drivers and re-install again.
Also check for installed 3rd party software conflict. (E.g I get appcrash nvd3dum.dll on certain video applications when I have MSI Afterburner tool in the background)
(edited by kirito.4138)
Its probably software issue then. Tried fiddling with the nvidia 3D setting profiles ?
