I would say melee weapon are way better though. Because you deal more damage with melee. And many melee weapon also provide movement ability that makes you more mobile.

I personally think thief is way faster than engineer. That being said, I’m not too farmiliar with engineer(even though I map complete 3 times on engineer). Feel free to show the build and weapon choice on how to map complete fast on engineer.

I think you over estimate the effect of 33% movement speed compare to mobile ability.
I personally felt mobile ability are much better than those 8% movement speed.

Also a good trick is to use sigil of air and fire and scholar rune. Give you good burst in the beginning. Idea for fast map completion.

Is there any non legendary gear that have foot steps.

I know the Chiroptophobia greatsword have bat fly out of it. Any other gear have foot steps that is not a legendary?

I thought the exotic hunter weapon come from the champ bag.(need someone to comfirm). I’m not sure if monster can drop it directly

And I’m not sure if the champ bag is even profession specified.

It’s probably not a good idea to use master salvage kit… Since you’ll get gossamer. and silk sells more than gossamer.

you don’t get more luck with better kit by the way. Take it from someone who have 295 luck.

i’m pretty sure thief can do it the fastest. There is no way engineer can keep up with thief.

And about the record, I think I can do it roughly 30 hours too. The problem is you need to sacrifice too much and play certain way just to make a record.

For example you need to be instantly lvl80 so you need tomes. You can’t waste time do your dailys on that characters, or any events. And it is probably a good idea to not even loot anything.

I think it is mostly for people who want legendary weapon. It take like million karma or something like that to get a legendary weapon.

There isn’t any direct way to farm silk fast. The only way is just kill large amount of mobs fast on events. But even that won’t give you large amount of silk.

Fortunately, you can sell your loot and buy silk from the trading post. Many people no longer need silk because they finished their ascended armor. So it is easier to buy from them.

If I have a karmic infusion on my amulet, does that boost the karma gain from fractal?

There are ways to convert 20 geodes to 1 gold. So you are essentially trading in 1 gold to buy a key.

Unless you are collecting Umbrite weapon, I dont’ see the point on trading 1 gold for a chest.

You can craft heat stone. But I’m not sure if the profit is worth it. Since you still need to spend 20 skill points. And someone might tell you those 20 skill points can make more money else where.

I’m wondering what is a reliable way to get this, besides trading in geodes. Since trading in 20 geodes(for tier 4) seems a lot.

Which living story is a good way to acquiring this?

Quite honestly I dont’ know what price it’ll be in a few month. Depend how many people are willing to fill buy order at a high price.

Quite honestly 95% of the content have no grind. You can do 95% of the content wearing lvl80 blue gear.

That’s why opinion about GW2 is quite split.

On one hand, you have a bunch of people calling GW2 really grindy. And a bunch of people calling GW2 the most casual mmorpg.

I think it is possible for most people to actually afford a precursor/legendary. The problem is if you bought a legendary, you barely have any money to buy other things.

Because seriously with 3000 playing hours, all you need to do is earn 1 gold per hour and you can afford a legendary(but nothing else).

You can’t make 10g/hour continuously. Even if we were to grant that you could speed run dungeons that fast (I full zerk speed run with friends, and we still take 30 minutes for a path of arah which is 3.76g plus drops) you can only run the dungeon path once per day, and not all reward as much as Arah.

That aside I agree that I shouldn’t be spending my 180 hours of playtime (by your math, more like 360 hours) grinding for gold to get a precursor.

you can do that now with coiled watch. Eventhough many people get upset about the farmers, because they can’t do their living story.

dry top? if you know all the geonodes location maybe, the pot is worth 8.5 gold now.

Harvesting? If you have lots of alt like me, 24 lvl80.

There have always been ways to farm gold without playing the TP.

I’m down 700 gold, to buy exotic for exotic hunter achievement. and made about 500 gold in a few days.

That being said, grinding gold isn’t the exactly most fun thing to do in the world.

you can get 6 obsidian shard just doing tequalt.

If you do that, you need to scale the rewards to damage done too. Else everyone will just try to stay alive, while not necessary do damage.

The professional loot is kind of silly. Ya, play certain profession, get more loot.

I think Anet spend too much time caring about the NPE, that some thing don’t make sense.

Besides, even if people get the loot they can use when leveling up, don’t mean it is actually useful if it is not the stats they want.

For farming, you can try FGS or dry top farming. With some practice you can probably make 10+ gold per hour. Which will take you 10-12 hours to get an extra slot.

I dont’ find Teq really good for making money, because there is usually long wait. I only do it for karma.

I think there’s two new ones in Caledon, actually, plus one in Ashford.

My character previously have caledon forest complete have 18/19 heart. And only missing the one at the entrance of caledon forest.

I think someone mentioned scholar might be better for speed run dungeon(assume you can keep high hp all the time).

I’m not sure for fractal if you can maintain high hp all the time.

I wouldn’t worry about it really. I dont’ think you can even tell the difference.

ya I agree with the guy. Tailoring cost is way too expensive.

Hopefully Anet balance out by reducing Tailor cost instead of making the other profession more expensive to match tailor.

Consider a player that has outfitted multiple light armor characters in Ascended gear….how do they react to this “change” you propose?

I paid the full price for this game at launch. Now the game is quite cheaper but I do not expect to get some kind of discount. I think the same should apply to those that already have outfitted their character with light ascended armor. It would not be the first time that changes in the game caused certain prices of items to either drop or rise.

The design philosophy behind the Bolt of Damask and ascended light armor were not thought out perfectly. This is why the current crafting prices for cloths are out of hand. I strongly feel that steps need to be taken in order to restore that balance. Because in the end balance is one of the core focuses of ANet to support this game, next to introducing new content, to keeping customers satisfied.

I did the quest 10 hours ago. I pick up the rifle at the heart guy, he give you the rifle. And I can use the rifle skills. The skill to capture the monster only appear after the monster is low on health.

I “personally” don’t have a problem completing the quest.

I just use the rifle hit the monster a few times and when it is low in health I can capture it.

I’m confused on how to fight in the pit though, since I captured a few minotaur, talk to the arena guy on 2nd floor, but nothing happened.

Thanks for a great game. Making a MMORPG is an enormous task. I really appreciate the hard-work the developers go through.

What is wrong with figuring out that what you want is not in this game, but there are other games that have exactly what you want?

Maybe people like an aspect of a game, but not the game itself, and want to add features from the game they hate to a game with a core they love.

That isn’t bad at all.

But it is a bit self-centered and selfish with no regard for the existing player base. Expecting ground breaking suggestions to be accepted with open arms just reinforces how self-centered their entire approach likely is.

I can see how a demand would be that way, but not a suggestion. A suggestion is placed on the forums for the explicit purpose of gaining community feedback and potentially a developer’s eye, is it not?

Which is back to what I said. People just calling each other what they said is not important, and they are the minority so their suggestion shouldn’t be put seriously.

I started crafting mawdrey 2 days ago and I’m already done.

Things like laurels or dragonite are harder to get because those are things you can’t bought.

Stop worrying about pocket change and just buy the material, after you finish, you can start crafting those material and sell them daily. The difference isn’t that big, beside a little extra tax fee.

The armor are probably meant to be prestigious.

If anyone can get it, it’s not prestigious.

I know I tried a few days ago, seemed to be fine. It took me 2 tried, I’m not exactly sure if the first time is a failure or I just don’t know where to go. I know there are lots of farmers the first time. The 2nd time they seemed all gone.

If there are still people purposely failing it, I think Anet should take a look, so people needing the events wont’ get frustrated by it.

I give up my 2nd account a while ago. I still logon once in a while for example when they handling out freebies.

I do think there are benefits to 2nd account, but it take lots of works to make the 2nd account beneficial, and if it’s money you worry about there are ways to make decent money with just 1 account.

I’m working on my Mawdrey now too. I actually just bought all the material, in all seriously, I don’t bother leveling huntsman to 400 on my 2nd account just to save me a few gold.

If you are worrying about saving a few gold, all I can say is getting a 2nd account is a lot of work.

I remembered when playing war hammer online(when that game is still alive), I love it when a whole server would come together and try to accomplish tasks together.

That being said, I don’t actually enjoy events like this in GW2. Because people have the ability to switch maps. And the first things people asks are usually “is anyone in a good map?”.

I’m not exactly sure what happened when I did the living story.

The first time I did it, some farmers are there. At the end I’m not sure if the event failed or I just don’t know where to move next.

Anyway the 2nd time I tried it, I managed to finish it.

There are people talking about failing the events on map chat. I’m not sure if it is the majority though.

I done this quest 20 times, used to be fine.

But after the patch, I can’t move after I turn in the 3 item. She’ll give me the potion but I can’t move after it.

Other people told me the same thing. So it’s not just me.

I think they should consider sigil swap for ascended gear also.

For example if a guardian have an ascended berserker gear with dps rune, and want to switch to travel rune, he’ll need to spend an additional 500 gold.

It already cost a bunch to have sets with different stats, and add in the sigil, the cost is enormous.

I did experience lag twice after the patch. But is is temporary and usually fixed in an hour.

Most of the time I’m playing fine. I’m not sure if it is my end or Anet end or some Dos attack.

But most of the time I’m fine.
