Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
However, those aside, I’m talking playable content. Even gw1 had more to do for its 10th anniversary just these last two weeks than gw2 in the past 2 months. Anet’s own old, discontinued/automated game!
Eh, they added a few quests (that were basically doing stuff that have been available for almost 10 years) and some new items (which were mainly either re-skins or items that were also slated for release in GW2).
Which is basically what we have been getting here as well.
It was early last time as well.
Quite irrelevant.
If clock started to become afternoon over there I would start to “worry” but there are still many hours left of their workday.
They still posted it in the morning over here last time. And wel morning is almost over. So i assume no reveal this week.
Chronomancer was posted just over and hour earlier than now.
Same with Dragonhunter.
It is still early. Way too early to make assumptions.
So still no preview released yet?
It is still early. Most people are probably just getting to work.
Really?
There is nothing at all in that statement that says anything about “a chance to only ever get a single portal”.
A chance refer to the fact that it is not guaranteed. A portal refers to the fact that you can only ever get one portal per chance. Not that there is only ever one chance to get a portal and that you can only ever get one portal.
It all seems to come down to not fully understanding the language used. Which isn’t really all that uncommon seeing as many of us does not have English as our native language.
whats going on? usually they get a pic on mondays…
And usually they post it after they get to work.
The clock is 5:41 in the morning over there.
The chronomancer picture was posted about 1,5 hours from now, two weeks ago.
We will quite likely get a picture later today that will show us which is up this week ^^
What some of you are missing out on, is that once a player got a portal he/she should have been removed from the player pool.
And then that system bugs out and people get removed from the pool without having gotten a portal. Something that would be basically impossible to discover due to the low droprate and thus someone might spend hours upon hours without even a CHANCE of getting the drop.
Building a system like that for might very well be a single event when it is quite possible that it could lead to quite bad bugs is stupid. Simple as that.
250 a stack like Everything else
I think what he is talking about is the number of dropped one.
I for one have never seen more than 50 drop in stack.
It is basically exactly like a trait-line.
Yo can change it at any time when you are not in combat.
It is also worth pointing out that a service like that can easily be abused and hurt the economy quite a bit.
See this is why I say, Anet should not have named the game Guild Wars 2…. its not a sequel to GW1… it radically different, like two different genres kind of difference.
GW1 is to GW2, what Warcraft 3 is to World of Warcraft.
Nobody calls World of Warcraft, Warcraft 4…
And yet Dune 2 was a RTS while Dune was an adventure game.
It is not really all that unheard of to change genre when doing a sequel.
Why does it matter?
They don’t steal a drop from anyone else nor do multiple drops mean less total invites.
In fact this was probably the safest way to do it, because coding something that shuts off the drop after you got it the first time could lead to very dangerous bugs.
I’m fine with fractals, but I was talking about the dungeons.
I think his point was that the system more or less already exists with Fractals, therefore this would be a rather unnecessary addition.
There will never ever be a game that can be developed faster than players can consume it. Sooner or later there will be nothing you want to do.
Do you have all legendaries?
Have you completed all the Living Story achievements?
Have you completed all collections?
Have you filled up your wardrobe?
If nothing else it is fully possible to simply take a break for a while and come back when the next big update (specializations) or when the expansion launches.
Quite funny how things differ at different times.
Back during the Tournaments there are always plenty of threads about how Tournaments are the worst thing ever and that they should never ever do them again. And yet now we see threads at least once a week wanting a Tournament.
I think 3 options are acceptable:
-buy access with BoH.
-give access to ppl with 1k+ WvW rank.
-random drop from events, invaders, lords.
Sadly all those three makes people spending time in EotM much more likely to have access.
The amount of BoH, events and wxp you get from an hours in EotM is waaaaaay higher than in the regular WvW maps. Thus it is rather likely that a beta with those parameters would be rather biased towards the EotM mindset.

And the moment they allow transfer of beta access they open a nice can of worms with “allowing” selling beta slots for high amount of in-game gold or real world currencies.
Yes, you sacrifice the passives. But with a shorter cooldown that means the sacrifice is lessened since the passive effect will be up and running faster than before.
But one also need to take the passive effect into account when using the active ability, thus lowering the cool-down might also require looking at and changing the passive values as well.
They said that this (the separate datacenter issue) was already solved back around the China release, but we never heard anything about it after that.
Source?
I would rent Voice Actors and Animators and Re-do the personal story…
What about coders?
And QA?
And designers?
And writers?
You wouldn’t get far with just Voice Actors and Animators, nor would 1 million be enough to re-do the personal story.
I’ve given up hope of them ever bridging the NA and EU gap… this late in the game people shouldn’t have to delete all characters to play with another locale.
Oh well.
People don’t HAVE to.
You can do like most people and buy a transfer with gems.
As for the gap it is most likely due to technology available to them.
The EU and the NA server data are on two different data-centers after all.
You can participate in WvW with a lvl 2 character. Therefore it is rather irrelevant that you currently don’t have one.
You are not locked out of the game. You can create characters if you want to.
The reason is because being able to freely transfer everyday would more or less completely destroy WvW, just like it did back in the days.
There is no logical reason for people to change server multiple times per week.
Nothing. I don’t support the cash-shop business model.
And yet here you still are, despite it being extremely clear long before release that it would have a cash-shop to finance the game.
Might I inquire as to which model you would support?
And no, F2P without a cash-shop is not a working model.
Sometime between June and the end of the year seems like a rather safe bet.
I would buy anet

I think you highly overestimate the value of 1 million dollars.
But we do not know how much work would be needed to add this old content back in. For all we know it could end up requiring MORE work than doing something completely new, due to issues finding and fixing bugs that have turned up due to changes to the engine and so on since they were last active.
Isn’t part of the point that you are supposed to think about when to use them? Not just blindly use them as soon as you enter a fight and then be able to pop them again without thinking again soon after.
You might not do it, but there are people who will. And ArenaNet takes that into account when they make decisions.
I also seem to recall it being rather clearly when you create your guild that the name and tag will be permanent and that you should be absolutely sure before accepting it, due to it not being possible to change it.
In fact I did think you talked about the Antitoxin Spray, my bad.
But even then most of the others do have their usage. Just because it is not part of the meta doesn’t make it useless after all.
I wouldn’t say it is weak as such, it is more a matter of it being very situational.
If it was your own guild, why didn’t you give it a good name from the start?
Being able to change the name of a guild can lead to quite a bit of issues such as trolling.
Nope, changing the name of a guild is not possible.
I would assume simply because they don’t want people to be able to troll and such by changing the name of the guild all of a sudden.
Yeah, it worked out pretty good. Enough so that we see tons of players there constantly.
And yet people complain over and over and over and over and over and over again about how it is not WvW and how it sucks and how it is the worst thing ever.
The poll will give a rather useless result, seeing as the vast majority of the player-base never visits the forums.
I would also suggest spending some time reading the rules for the forums.
They should just contact main NA and EU guilds to get those people, or talk with different server communities and so they can represent different wvw tiears.
You mean like they did with EotM?
We all know how well that worked out in the end.
I don’t know. Against a zerg, several guardians laying “traps” (urgh, I hate that name) like a minefield could be pretty awesome.
While at the same time losing out on the support they usually provide.
i see… it so unds like elite specialization will almost always be taken just because of the overwhelming number of changes that it brings. no trait line is strong enough to overshadow the elite specialization + the heaps of buffs it brings, it seems
And yet I can already see how Guardians in for example WvW might prefer to stay as regular Guardians based on what we have been shown.
Honestly they should have added an expansion every year. Between all the dragons plus cantha and elona that’s 7 years.
Yeah, because making an expansion is just snapping the fingers and it is done.
You are also assuming that there will only be one thing focused per expansion.
They could easily go with Kralkatorrik and Elona together for example.
It might not be as easy as it seems.
The dailies are based on the highest level achieved by the account I believe. Which would explain why it didn’t revert.
so hunters don’t use anything other than a Bow? History would like a word with you.
In what way did I even imply that they don’t use anything other than bows?
You mean a profession that would be performed by someone with the warrior or ranger class skill sets? Yeah, I have.
Except for the fact that hunters usually weren’t warriors. They were hunters. They hunted prey. They didn’t fight in battles.
Nah, you described the rangers. Well done, you!
Have you ever heard of the real life profession hunter? A profession that pre-dates Tolkien by thousands of years.
No, not really. Look here: https://www.google.com.au/search?q=Hunters&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=VZtMVfayD8r98AW_yIHoAg&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=2560&bih=1369
That’s what hunter means to us and none of that is “Guardian”-esque.
A link to a google search which mainly contains links to the boots-company Hunters?
The real life profession hunter (especially during the medieval times) was hunting animals either for food or to protect the people in the area. The main part here is the protect thing. Which is EXACTLY what the theme of the Guardian is.
Ha! You really did just describe Tolkien’s rangers.
Actually no. I described the real-life version of the profession hunter.
And yet before the silence policy people were raging and claimed that they shouldn’t “promise” stuff unless they are going to deliver it.
It is basically a lose-lose.
Either they tell us stuff and risk having to change stuff along the way or they don’t tell us stuff until it is ready. Both which leads to raging.
