achieved gold so now its gold curse LOL

with rev i have to say i saw couple of fights another ventari rev.
i had about 800 healing with those games. and the ele preety much die much faster (maybe gold players or below)

i think the way to break the curse is to find a friend to play with.

so this is the final version i play with
currently silver (should be gold due to afk 60% of my games)
mainly solo Q so its hard to support if you push to do rotations.

but the build is fun effective
i had fights where i did 1v2 or 1v1 and the other ele on my team did 4v4 or 4v3 and died a lot.

at first i didnt like glint for support but i listen after long argue to some criticism and change to glint and it also effective (due to alacrity)

glint used at the beginning to stack 5 stacks, regen, and swiftness and when the fight start use one with nature to get more boons.
infuse light being used when burst
elemental blast on the point for aoe dmg with mace aoe

the main difference from jalis:
when using glint you use more your weapon skill to heal – staff #4, and shield #4 – 5k healing both to allies.

ppl dont used to support rev than expect you to do rotations. so good luck if they read team chat.

your res abilities are really strong with infuse light and ventari blind and kb

hope more use it (even helseth faced it…. i wish he could comment on it)

i also play support rev and lost due to afk, ppl not playing hard or playing lik its hotjoin AA not dodging not reading chat, not doing any rotation and moving 4 ppl to mid.

it force you to play something else.

i change to support ele and i got better result

i started to play with friend and i started to win cause the random effect got smaller.

i decided to just enjoy it and try my best. that’s all you can do.

Idk whether you belong to gold/plat OP as it is arguable (i had no issue to farm my way through gold last season when i for some reason landed in low gold after placement and i played solo), there is definitely one valid complain which is 4v5. They happen way too frequently and affect rating too much, imo. But it is like talking to a wall. Idk why Anet is so adamant about not punishing griefers in game.

s5 i ended gold near plat. most fights were versus plat ppl cause i teamup with plat. they were easy wins.
i dont play much and farm. so i consider myself gold

i dont care tiers placements. i care about having fun while fighting
so 4v5, 2 ppl caping free points like in hotjoin, ppl AA

if i lose a game when i know i did bad rotations or decisions i will still enjoy it.

i can show you 2 videos i made of ranger who AA on mid not dodging once and thief 1v2 kill it in 2 sec. than i do 1v2 and his animal come to help me (omg AI is more smarter) he took 180 and walk away from far to close to do 2 man cap point….

Only time I saw a successful bunker rev this season was when he was coupled with an ele. They held the mid point on temple for the whole game even in 2v4.

Yep, only way to get out of this is to hard carry by yourself in an active way (offense). This way your team either snowball with you or you made your team lose the game.

two seasons ago I got back to gold after a loss streak with a greatsword / gravity well build, carrying mid fights.

1 week later makes a thread on forums claiming to deserve a higher rating when ends up in silver. Hmm, I wonder why.

60% of games 4v5 even support ele wont able to flip it. does it mean support ele is not meta????

helseth fought versus support rev and said it cant be killed so he left it alone…. does it mean its meta??? no. its only mean in the right hands it can be good. few seconds later he and sind recked it . same as for any ele ….

i fought as support ele and won. my states of the game were worst. just my team did better rotations and didnt afk . maybe the game design consider placement base on the profession and think if i am rev i probable using power build. i dont know

season 5 i play non meta builds with rev and burn vanilla and got near plat. season 6 i didnt play much.

i played ele with friend he is plat atm. i won 3 in a row. honsetly i did almost nothing. he push far and did 1v2 as warrior. the rest died and i res or we just steamroll them at the start.

Umm, you don’t need a meta build in order to carry.

You need a core understanding of your role, and understanding of your good/bad match-ups in order to know how to rotate properly.

Meta builds just happen to be the best possible build to use in comparison with the rest of the meta.

i know

but if a thief in my team not doing rotation or when i ping far as its empty and he doing 3v2 while not able to kill anything. i go as support and do rotations.
i push my self to situations which are more risky.
if the ele in my team or ranger not doing some sort of support which makes me more with the team its like 4v5 the whole game.
not to mention afk ppl like necro standing in respawn doing AA not to get disconnected.
i will try meta builds and see if the curse fade out.

I suggest practicing a pub stomp build to get you out of the weeds. vaultspam thief is a good start. Or a DH with a lot of traps.

It’s the same in gold dude. Got players dying 2v1 to a DH. Entire team wiping on cap without even attempting to disengage or kite then repeatedly running and suicide into mid without regrouping. Even worse unthinkable absolutely brainless plays I could write an essay on.

I pushed up a bit today going on an 8 win streak or so then got some really bad games and a few wins in between. Just trying to enjoy my plays at the minute because I know queuing solo in a solo/duo queue isn’t helping.

Edit: Please tell us you are not using that support rev build and you are actually playing a meta carry build.

i am actually do use support rev. most game i get best res, best defense and healer even if a ele is around or ranger.
most ele i see use all their abilities spamming like.
i try play power rev. but its ended like i am the only one alive so its very hard. i have to play ele to support my team. or bunker guard to be able to do 1v2

so far i had 20 games while 66% were 4v5 with some desertion and mostly afk players
(i had to desert once due to RL issue with kids)
but common i am stuck in silver while i should be in gold at least.

i try to carry but when ranger follow me while i go decap far and he decap with me and when i leave the point he leaves also. common

when my team die in about 3 sec on mid ….

its seems like fixed games

i win and i lose again.

i do 1v2 and see ranger coming to help and boom he do 180 while his pet coming to help me … even AI are smarter

i really dont know why ppl complain about conditions.
every match i have played since patch is mainly 1 condition class in a 5 team. usually mesmer or engi and yes few thieves….

so condi war – dont think so

regarding cc
i think anet gave some classes the abilities to handle versus cc with stability. like guard and revenant. but ppl dont change their old meta build and complain
so or you learn how to dodge or get more stability through rev or guard

yes i hate when i am being focused and cc to death but also your team should help you if they are smart.

in soloq it can be hard if your team dont play good. but most fight i think i havent notice this problem

if you make too many pvp modes you wont be able to balance them all together.
most balance made atm are for sustain and dmg. less about movement ie rotations.
some class are great in 1v1 but bad in team fights . so do you wanna make thief less potent in 1v1???? dont think so. etc…

2v2 is nice idea for easy balance.

in short time you will see which classes domain those area and balance them. as most 5v5 are 2v2 3v3 or 4v4 you dont want to balance by 1v1 solely.

I have now tried running Condi Rev with Dev/Cor/Invo and ventari-shiro. With m/s and s/a. Glass gear.
Its pretty awesome for solo play. Projectiles no problem. Stuns no problem. Condis no problem. Good CC. Good DPS. And heck of a survability with perma fury.

probably wvw? as in pvp ventari needs good healing state to be effective.
condi rev can be great if you manage to lock your enemy or surprise him .

i couple of times kill a thief when i lure his dodges and boom lock him with fast immobilize UA mace. he died in ~3 sec while he teleport and stealth away….

The placement if the alacrity trait is still weird and the visuals are cancer if you wanna go colorwise.

the visualization of alacrity is mesmery like. during fights with all that is going on i hardly see any class skills (like ele earth aura and more)
if alacrity could regen also nrg faster than it could be great for revenant as alacrity increase the rate of skills cd (so put it also on nrg or ini (for thieves)

the elite destruction i dont like. most of the fights i have below 50% nrg so the effective cleasne if about 3-4 conditions (i saw the cleanse prioritize dmging conditions i had bleed cover by 6 other conditions and it got removed with burning)
i liked more the kb spamm i could do. but more cleanse is always welcome in some way

so far my almighty build ventari/jalis with invocation line works for the best for me. good pressure, good healing and good team support and buff.

yes like ele you need good group who know what to do around you and the tablet

you got mender but no condi equivalent
you got toughness with power and no healing amulet (but we got vitality with healing)
you got concentration with no vitality or toughness so no one use them

and lots more of combination which are missing and atm favor the power spec

i wish anet would come up with system who let the player choose his states with few roles

the max combination of all state
forbidden or limited combination (like toughness and vitality max together)

if i dont want to go with 560 rather 300 i would be able.

and so on

i think there are 2 questions

1. in 1v1 is there any class who can counter a thief
2. regarding role scenarios is there any class who can counter thief role

1. thief atm can counter all class if you let him fight long time in 1v1. he might not decap the point or contest it but can win almost in any 1v1 scenario. even guard or necro. how you counter it its easy send your roamer to +1 and the thief will disengage. if you let the thief to have fun, he will!

2. to counter thief rotation is only by another roamer like mesmer portal but smart thief can juke you with stealth and decap anyway. or with rev but still thief can move faster, or bunker who sit on point like ranger who moves between close to mid and have good eyes on the thief movement.

a good thief can carry his team with decap free point and force outnumbering situtation

still curios why ppl stick with ele while both have the same problem if they get focused

so the ability to pressure more and give more support to your team is more valuable with revenant.

blind, blocks, stability, weakness, condi dmg pressure, might stacks, fury, and great healing abilities, and if use correctly 50% dmg reduction for 5 sec (can be spammable if your team peel off you (one fight i use it 3 times in a row and i didnt have to heal at all)

If I remember right, Crystal Hibernation’s healing was already nerfed before.
I sincerely doubt they will remove the root for whatever reason, but I’d like to at least see the Trait in Glint’s GM tier do something other than acting like another passive emergency response trait.

Maybe if it granted Protection stacks (single or group) when successfully blocking an attack, or increase Healing Power for a few seconds for each attack blocked with either having some cap to the stacks. That would give blocking some extra benefit not only to Shield but to Sword/Staff as well.

Heck, maybe even allowing successful Blocks to restore some Legend Energy would be nice as a trait…

i like the idea copy from the ranger
his astral force regenerate by the healing he does or dmg he does. so also when revenant heal or negate dmg he restore portion of his nrg 1% (which is 20% more faster nrg)

warrior is the best versus condi pressure . put resistance cover it with more boons and you good to go the pressure the enemy

guards have only poison and vulnerability and cripple to cover up the burning but usually the burning will be the first condo to go off.

you got sword oh to block for 2 sec

when you check other block abilities for other class none of them heals you, the duration is about 2-3 sec , few do dmg , stun

i wish also the the root will be removed but it will needs to offest by something else.

also remember it being used in pvp aswell

if you reduce the healing abilities it will nerf too much the build/class sustain

i can think maybe remove the root and make it like the guard focus skill.

so something like this: block any incoming attack for 3 sec. you aoe regenerate health 310 (cut by half) 4 pulses and if 4 attacks were blocked the shield explode and aoe heal for another 310 for each blocked attack (base)

so now you wont get full heal unless you get attacked

so in wvw/pve its easy to get hit – so you get more support abilities (with healing you will heal allies about 5k if you get attacked)

in pvp it will push your enemy to stop attacking you so you wont get more hp or use unblockable skills to kill you faster

dps – dmg per second
total dmg is how much dmg you made during fight which means nothing atm as you can do 1v1 for 15 min with 200 dps you will see 180k total dmg.

assumptions:
1. till you kill your target it takes you 2 min and you do 1k dps you will see total dmg off 120k (60*2*1)
2. also assuming that you focus on offense and not defense which allow you to do offensive rotations and not defensive ones.
3. also the dps is calculated for single target as how much dmg you gave during the fight with this certain target. even if you done 4v4 and manage to hit them all.

also my support rev using mace/shield +staff with invocation trait line which allow me 25 might stacks quickly thus i have 2800 power and 750 condi dmg so usually i can hit condition dmg of 1k burning and 400 torment and 100 poison per second and my direct dmg is about 500-2000 if crit so total dps is about 2k and above
although if i pushed to play defensive my dps drops to even 500 if i need to heal, block, res, blind, etc..

i am just talking the abilities of the potential dps for the support class. and i got surprise about the ele and engi mainly.

i have tested mender amulet with the current meta build – ranger, ele and engi and also my mender ventari revenant (mace and staff)
i test it versus npc in the mist, bosses in the mist

i use bgdm

ele – 1000-1200 dps
engi – 1200-1600 dps
ranger – 2000-2800 dps
revenant – 2000-2500 dps

ppl told me that ele has better dps and engi is the king of point holder with ranger but regarding pure dps atm and not talking about healing and cleanse abilities

I’ve been playing Mallyx/Glint (Sage Amulet) since the patch and it’s pretty solid…

Thieves this patch annihilate you if they’re +1’ing tho… But I suspect they’re going to be doing that to everyone this season. =(
You can, however, actually hold your own against them 1v1 now because of the crazy amount of pressure you put out in an area around yourself.

also tested the sage amulet (seems better than carrion)
the problem with thieves is they can shadow shot in and dodge out with few AA than kill you. also need to be very careful with ua as it easy to interrupt it so pi will proc
havent manage to have good succeed versus thieves although in team fight i hardly notice them on me.

Anyway, with some practice I think one could unleash good potential with this build in group play. However, if I were you I’d change Hardening Persistence for Swift Gale. Just based on my own experience while running bulky builds without shiro. 3 seconds of superspeed is a lot when you need to disengage fast or increase gap between you and your enemy.
Then I don’t see why would you need Charged Mist over Rolling Mists (perhaps for solo roaming. Because crit = more torment) or Shrouding Mists (for group play). If the reasoning behind it is might stacking then I’d just go for Incensed Response + Shared Empowerement as these two synergize greatly. I am running hybrid build myself with high 25 stacks uptime and I don’t even have might duration runes or food.
Also, about soothing bastion…don’t use it. Simply don’t.

from my experience thieves will be our counter with any build
the blind should help with that although this build not proc it much as i dont use ventari trait line.

rapid flow is for the swiftness out of combat so if one with nature is enough i surely go incensed respond fierce infusion and rolling mist (although the torment on crit is nice but not mandatory
bolster fortification is highly recommended with the tablet for dmg mitigation and group also.

i just try it after long time and manage 1v2 and kill one OMG the rush…..

the 25 might stacks is better than 40% crit chance

concept:
perma swiftness
nice might stacks during fight to increase your condition dmg – on average 10 might stacks
good healing power to protect you
blind versus melee classes
perma protection during fight
good versus conditions with resistance and condition cleanse (food , trait and skills)
condition pressure with mallyx

cons:
range classes – you must try to be as melee as possible with axe (melee blind and condi dmg)
no escape abilities beside self sustain so use your chill wisely
no many stunbreak (only 2)

i guess it could work also in group fight as you got both healing power and conditions pressure aoe

As it is now, playing a healer requires you to mouse over each person or look top-left to find their class and conditions. This doesn’t cut it for the condi game we have now.

You can click on the top left panel of players to select them rather than pro-click your friendlies in the open.

this is the problem for a healer/support you dont wont to lose 2 sec hover you mouse to the top left to select. you want to see on screen you teammates situation quickly to act without leaving your eyes from what happening on the screen

also what does it bring if i select a person to a healer. i want to see the hp bar faster to react go to him and heal him

It only works if people are in your party—you queued with them. For people that are on your team but not in your party, you can’t see their bars unless you mouse over them or use the side bar.

i really love ventari/jalis with invocation line and altruism rune . 25 might stacks easy (average is 18 stack) perma fury so my dps is about 1.5k-2k (checked it with dps meter)

the support from this build is very solid. stability, cc, dmg reduction and healing ,condi cleanse block combine with blind and more….

so far 2v2 3v3 or 2v3 havent lost any ally yet (if they play closed to me), res ability is good with stability, blind, protection and cleanse.

so thanks anet for this change. ventari elite i would have change a bit though.

you already have fragment and orb which heal, put regen and swiftness on you. so to add another mechanism should be easy i think

if the tablet only heal you why choose it as support. it might be bunkery but no dmg so like bunker chorno ppl hate which got deleted ….

in pvp what i hate they counter my necro, rev, sometime mesmer, even ele support and if they +1 kitten ….
but i am talking soloq. team q its different story more easy time cuase i get fast +1 if i am in trouble versus them.

so dilema. i love thieves. i dont want them to kill me fast

so all you thieves out there. pls take your time killing me what’s the rush you have 15 min to enjoy the game . have you ever watch the waterful, the skies in camera view. when you see me next time lest sit together on point and enjoy it.

and another thing. i bourd with d/p thieves…. so please make other weapon useful again
