HGH simple? What the? Its damage comes from the hardest weapon ingame to use, every single ability is a skillshot.
Just because you refuse to believe it doesnt mean it isnt true…What more do you want to add? Damage comes from ground-targeted, projectile AoE. It comes with a hefty dose of micromanaging boons and cooldowns, and weighting them with saving them for condition removal. Its a fairly squishy spec (1 stunbreaker, thats it) that means picking your fights and positioning is vital.
There is a bunch of RNG involved that cannot be anticipated and has to be responded to AFTER rolling the dice to see what the outcome is. (Big difference between something like Stealth and Stability). Very reactionairy playstyle. It is one of the hardest specs to play.
i think you are confusing a moderate amount of manual dexterity for skill. everything else you wrote is greatly exaggerated.
edit: also OP is right on the money. +1

boons & condi too
like in the sotg or anywhere else?
i much prefer getting basic features for box price
Milo I’m sure if you had to do the work to create such rooms you wouldn’t call them basic features
it really isn’t my problem
Just because a game shares the same title does not mean it’s gonna be the same game and have the same features.
we have less of the features we need and they are making us pay for them? this is the business model of a f2p, not a b2p.
we aren’t paying for “servers” like in other games
we are paying to change the settings on an existing hotjoin room.
you know, like the hundreds they’ve had since game launch?
“Oh but it has spectator!” kitten that, like I care about spectating noobs running around
“Oh you can change the map or the team size or the score count!!!” what phenomenal engineering advances, i’m so glad to have the opportunity to pay for basic features like these…
they have probably been waiting for lfg system to be ready
If they put action bars in the game please give the option to turn them off. I dont want more litle things to pay atention in the game.
lmao
the idea has a lot of merit, but the solution you’ve described will never be implemented.
they won’t sacrifice the only reward system they have for gameplay. i would have liked them to think of this as they were developing the game, but we’re too far in to backpedal now.
i agree
there are many other issues you didn’t mention that all come together to make the pvp game not easy to get into and not easy to stay in.
suffice to say, devs have not thought many things through in this game from a pvp perspective.
ANET doesn’t create builds, you do. Go play with traits and who knows what you might come up with. That’s how every single build prior has been created. Stop waiting for someone else to tell you how to play your class…
the only limit is your own imagination!!!
also: bugged traits
In SAB, all the players were rescaled to the size of an average asura. There’s no reason they cannot rescale all players to an average human size in the mists either.
this is exactly what needs to happen
some guys with spare time in anet made a better game than pvp devs in 9 months
you should write email to support
ask for more pvp dev funds
lfg tool will be finally a good update
unrated is probably just hotjoins
Just wanted you guys to know that we’re watching this thread here in the office. The results are a great way for us to see (even if it’s a very small sample size) how some of the players are feeling about what they’d like to see improved.
You should also share your own wish list for pvp!
that’s an interesting idea actually
If they are going to implant this system , it will be wise each person can report only 15-25 different persons , per day . (for starters , and modify it later)
U can see how many <<charges>> u have left , so they choose more wisely who to report .
The majorority of PvPers are jerks and love to abuse thingsEdit: How will the company protect the <<victim>> , from me and my other 2 sisters from harashing-reporting him 24/7 , forcing him out of tPvP for ever ?
The same person cant report the same <<victim>> with 72 hours cd maybe ?
Whats if a guild with 50 ppl boicot the <<victim>> ?
What if ppl on the forums , report him 24/7 <<just for lolzs>>
you’re overthinking
solution: can only report people inside of your current match
Evan you’re cool guy, but
what is Anet’s stance on a 9 month bug, exactly?
Solo queue
Fixed match making (no 5v4)
More modesHow do you want to stop alt f4? Really curious. Ragequit is the only way you can leave a match, and if you log in you will be taken back to the arena. How could they force even matchups even more?…
Penalty? If you stay logged off for 15 mins that’s already one. If they bring penalty, levaers will be afkers. That’s all, because you can’t really leave.
I’m tempted to just link to GW1 mechanics when someone voices their opinion on a problem in GW2. Maybe the developers will get the message?
maybe they will
then we can have many new and exciting bugs features
i’m just explaining the reasoning.
i would have rather had rtl affected by slows with 20 sec cd and called it a day.
however, the situation was completely unreasonable previously.
pve trains people well for hotjoin
follow group and use skills that tag as many enemies as possible
I know. Because player use it to get faster from point A to point B.
Thats the reason why you have 20sec when you hit an enemy.Urgh bad english ^^
that is one of the reasons. d/d ele could get to enemy far points quickly as a bunker build and effectively prevent several people from capping their own node.
another reason is they could disengage from any fight (remember, not affect from slows) that wasn’t going well for them and heal up, then re-engage or leave as they pleased. now they can still do this but half as often.

does anyone here that think rtl nerf was too harsh have any idea why it was nerfed?
apparently you can’t even play the game and expect competitiveness, vs premades as a pug and vs pugs as a premade.
enormous joke pvp scene.
if you want to make rush ignore cripple and chill on a 20 sec cd be my guest
don’t complain when you get smashed by warriors constantly though
what gap closer allows you to heal or fight?
nicknamenick comparison to rush is valid.
i’d like to see less mechanics, but have them work better.
you continue to forget slows exist
would you say it’s worse to be stoppable & slowable, or unslowable but still stoppable? please note, if you haven’t already, that rtl is very nearly functionally equivalent to a 1200 range teleport.
i have a crazy idea that idk if is a good one:
make elites not suck
sorry if i am a bit unconventional
thanks,
milo
hello my friend fishbait,
please kindly read second post in thread

I watched an hour or so recently (was it this Sat? I had a long weekend and it all kinda blurs together, to be honest), so I know what the OP means. I definitely expected more from the commentary. I haven’t PvPed in GW2 yet and I had taken a long leave from the game, so I wanted to see how things are in terms of builds, profs being used (apparently rangers are useful these days), tactics, etc. There wasn’t much of that at all, at least while I was watching.
Given that GW2 is very confusing to the uninitiated (team fights especially are a visual soup of effects and jumping figures that I can’t even begin to decipher despite having spent 500 hrs playing the game) the casters have to compensate, so they will have to be effin amazing.
At the same time I understand that these are first steps for most of the people involved, so I’m willing to be patient. I’m worried however that the format may turn out to be inherently problematic (as Blu himself admitted), as the action is split between locations and some plays may be too fast to be spotted. Time will tell, I guess.
I think they should have a click-able option to show the last 5 moves a character does so if something of note pops up, you can easily switch your camera or a map indication of where battles are going if you toggle it on.
that’s a great suggestion
maybe in 2023 we will see guild wars 4 with this feature
Thank god! Thanks Evan.
I personally like having right click to target, it is the same in virtually every game, and makes it far easier to play at high speed. Hope it gets fixed asap.
There should be an option to turn it off, for the weirdos who don’t like it though
hello friend
you are brave adventurer
these lands are hostile to your kind
regards,
milo
yes I was mostly agreeing with you. armors should come at same pace as in pve, especially if they are from pve.
hello bai
i think there is a fundamental misjudgement anet is making. pvp players want 1 thing: to show they are pro. in gw1 for instance there was rank emote. here we have… finishers… that are actually consumables… and our rank emote can’t be used in all places.. and to top it off they’re just copy paste from the finisher. it feels very lame. i don’t care about armor that you get by grinding hotjoins — i want something that shows i win often and that I am good.
they took pve reward system (“everyone can have nice things”) and then put it in pvp. this was 1st mistake. then 2nd mistake was trying to extend the glory rank system so the top rank (and associated gear) would seem “elite”. which is dumb because it’s just grinding (not even winning) and also because you can get in pve 10x easier.
they don’t need to make new armor sets or weapon sets, they don’t need to really do much of anything else but give us small things that can only be gotten by winning. like an emote that is not a copy paste from a gemstore item and not associated with braindead grind.
really? it’s still bugged…?
All the downed system is is a time waster to troll your opponents after they already defeated you once. It belongs in PvE only.
spoken like a true hotjoin hero
Surely they’ll add the PvP content next month, I can feel it.
man don’t diss adventure box
that was like the only thing in gw2 that was fun
They been saying the “next patch” will be pvp patch for months now. I think we already passed it. Was the one where they removed paid tournies. See? Never say Anet never did anything for pvpers.
volrath i don’t think you’ll find many non-thief players here that are kitten by nerfs to thief mobility.
hello friend
currently there are no ways to monetize pvp
that is why esports spectator is more important
once there is a foundation for getting money from us,
ncsoft will allow devs to devote time to pushing pvp out of beta
regards,
milo
@HPLT
hello friend
clearly you are under the impression devs care about pvp balance
i regret to inform you that’s not the case

milo
1- Dedicated Healers.
2- An end to the kiting wars model.
3- More game modes.
what’s funny is gw2 had a good chance to make no-healer pvp combat work — it can work — but they decided it was best to just emulate fps games and call it a day.
who can point me in the direction of an indie game that takes pvp seriously like gw1 did?
guys u don’t get it
if they leave them in, you will have a chance to get them
then that means they’re not elite any more
obviously you didn’t farm hotjoin hard enough to be elite
man get off their backs
all the programmers are working on wvw rank skills
im just ecstatic they took time off from esports spectator mode to think of core pvp gameplay
sPvP Updates For People Who Don’t Care About Spectator
- Added a victory animation at the end of PvP matches.
i’m very happy they add content to pvp finally
