GW1 has 100 bank slots and 65 inventory slots.
GW2 has 30 bank slots and 100 inventory slots.
All figures are without buying anything extra from any in-game store. GW1 assumes that the player has all three campaigns and has upgraded their bags with Runes of Holding. GW2 assumes the player has put 20-slot bags in each slot.
Cool, when are the specs for the Largedragonsword Specialization released?
they have to make money somehow
There was this amazing game called GW1 which didn’t require you to pay real money or farm for days to get things that should be given to you, yet the same company that made that game eventually made enough money for a sequel!
By selling you expansions.
And you think HoT will be free?

That armor was ugly on females and boring on males. I can’t see why you’d want it.
I would not turn down any GW1 armors though, but they would all inevitably be locked behind the gem store paywall anyway…

If you’re going to play GW1, why ruin the story?
When you play GW1, do this order:
Prophecies > Factions > Nightfall > EotN > WiK >HotN >WoC
Certain things in Factions won’t make as much sense if you didn’t play Prophecies first, and similarly with Nightfall.
EotN and the GW:B content are all concerning events which have consequences for GW2.
I would like to see more ‘wrong’ skins, too: fan-like skins as daggers, torch-like skins as staffs or scepters, or tongue depressors for greatswords. (Oh wait, we already have about 20 of the last one.)
It’s not “wrong” at all. The Forgotten Fan was one of the most well-known uniques in GW1.
The dragon on the fan is a little unfortunate, but I used a fan as both a wand and a focus on my GW1 mesmer, so you could say I’m a fan of fans.
People always say that there aren’t enough revealing mens’ armors, but I never once saw anyone wearing scar or tattoo armor in GW1.
I’m glad to see more mesmer-ey stuff, even if it’s locked in the gem store.
I still love going back into GW1 to look at the art… Just me.
You’re not the only one.
GW1 is better I would say., but the two games are so different it’s hard to compare. GW2 is certainly more relaxed than GW1, where you need to know what you’re getting into and prepare for it. If you find yourself using the same build and never changing it you’re doing something wrong.
The only downside really is that there’s a smaller player population since GW2 came out, but there’s still a fair amount in Kamadan, LA, EotN, and Ascalon City (especially pre-searing).
Honestly just last week I played through Winds of Change again and it was as good as ever. Now I just need to clear out one of my storage mules to play War in Kryta on again…
Take your time to explore the world and don’t worry about grinding levels. Just play events as you run into them. Feel free to ignore the hearts if you want.
Hi, I’m a new player, only been playing for a few days and I had a question about the heroic edition which comes with the heroic chest. Is the chest only given to one character or is it given to every new character you create with your heroic edition account?
I believe the chest can only be received once, but the banker appears on every new character.
It’s a lot easier with all games. Prophecies is the best btw.
I love underwater combat. Personally, I like to constant tap the green keep in EBG and swim opposing players around in circles until they have to drag their whole zerg out to kill me.
One was of fighting the titans; they had an awesome look to them, and a neat mechanic of splitting down into smaller creatures upon death.
I know right? I was recently playing the Ring of Fire missions for the 10th anniversary and at first forgot they do that. Then my party was decimated by the Sparks.
Maybe it’s because Anet is bigger now or something, but I just don’t feel the same love for the game that Anet used to have for GW1.
Celebrate ten years of loyalty to Guild Wars by buying more GEMS™ in the GEMSTORE™ today! Congratulations!
I can’t complain too much since they did some nice things for us in GW1.

Chronomancers … fitting for mesmers …
If anything, mesmers have lost control of time magic since the time of GW1. Mesmers’ primary attribute used to be “Fast Casting”, which, in addition to making your casting times faster, had some pretty cool stuff like the spell “Stolen Speed”, which would double the foe’s casting speed and half you and your allies’ casting speed. Really the only homage to Fast Casting we got in GW2 is the skill “Time Warp”. There’s a lot of potential for Fast Casting to be implemented in GW2.

The balance between male and female characters is not there. We have strong female characters, and that’s great, as well as a good support for the LGBTQ community, but how about the male characters? I would love to see some development, a bit of bromance and maybe even a gay couple amongst the different races.
Females: Eir, Zojja, Caithe, Taimi, Marjory, Kasmeer, Rox, Anise, Jenna, Pale Tree, Faolain, Scarlet and Keil.
Males: Rytlock, Logan, Trahearn, Braham, Canach and Evon.
These are the key characters we have now. I may have missed some but yeah…
There’s a male/male couple in the Sylvari personal story.
With dry top and silver waste so much new stuff has been brought into the game – I think it would be fair when bags of each size would be given 2-4 more slots.
Salvage things you don’t need and store collectibles.
It doesn’t have the same design as every other bloodstone we encountered before. Example: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/File:Bloodstone_2.jpg

The first questions were way too easy, but the last was nearly impossible.
I seriously hope you guys find some way to make GW1 single-player before you shut off the servers (hopefully that day never even comes) so that I can always come back to it.

There already are many Asuran gates to the Fractal of the Mists, WvW (set in the mists) and sPvP (set in the mists).
And those gates are still just game elements that have been forced into lore through the ever-popular “Asura technology” excuse.
Whatever they do, I hope it is something that captures the rich lore and history of their GW World. There’s a lot of creative and imaginative work gone into the franchise and this would be the perfect date to celebrate that.
Nope, new gemstore outfit that no one wants. Congrats!
We could only get to the UW and FoW through the Gods’ avatars. With them not likely to show up, how do we get there now?
Apparently over the last 250 years they forgot about fashion and now just borrow their elementalist friend’s armor.
It’s just A-net taunting us.
“Oh, you wan’t mounts in the game? Ok, sure thing. ……What, you never specified that you wanted them for your characters……”FYI GW1’s very 1st campaign had Stone Summit dwarves riding dolyaks and snow beasts. This is the same thing and was never intended to mock players.
Not to mention Necrid Horsemen.
this game doesnt have fishing or horsemounts!!!!!!! ~former WoW player (i want a riding horse)
Go back to WoW then. We certainly won’t miss you on the forum.
No. We all earned the rewards, and you can too if you want to put the effort in.
I do miss GW, don’t get me wrong GW2 is a great game but the original GW just had that depth that nothing has been able to recreate. When you go out to explore you were actually out on your own, no WP and what not. You would spend over an hour getting to some of those locations, and you would probably only visit them once but that feeling of being so far out just really added depth to the game among many other factors.
Yeah I agree. Places like Ice Tooth Cave, Grendich Courthouse, Fisherman’s Haven, the Ice Imp cave in Mineral Spring, the Temple of Grenth in Lornar’s Pass…
[Suggestion] AoE auto loot automatically
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

I’m tired of this whole “pressing buttons to activate skills” thing. Can we just have auto buttonsmash please? Just, like, automate smashing 1,2,3,4,5 all the time when Im in range of an enemy.
You notice how skill 1 has autoattack on it, so you can pick and let it fire instead of having to do 111111, right?
Yes I know.

Steam doesn’t have it, but other stores like Gamestop have the “Complete Collection” which includes everything.
Also as a reminder in case you didn’t know, make sure you read the Wiki on GW:Beyond, which you don’t have to buy or anything.
I haven’t had the time to try it out, but it seems similar to GvG from GW1. Is that not what everyone wanted?
I’m wondering the same thing. I just recently got GW1 because I really wanted the Rytlok sword, but I keep hearing HoM doesn’t work anymore. I’m almost done with Factions and I recruited M.O.X. the golem but now Im sad D;
When will this be fixed? Should I just submit a ticket to customer support once I get to 10pts for my sword skin and armor skins?
What, pay tell, is a “Rytlok sword”? I think you mean that you would like a Fiery Dragon Sword of your own.
He’s from the part of the mists where all the other dumb gem store items come from. This shadowy land is called “Anet’s Greed” and can be accessed by sacrificing your first month’s paycheck to the Gem Store god.
Warrior or Guardian is your best bet.
I don’t play it anymore but I still miss it due to nostalgia. I hardly play GW2 these days due to having other things to do with my time.
EDIT: Nothing beats just running around pre-searing. What a beatiful place.
To begin with, there are three classes. What you are asking about is what PROFESSION to choose. Please learn the difference.
Welcome! A major part of the game that many people don’t get, especially those that come from games like WoW, is that you SHOULD NOT rush to level your character. Just explore the map and participate in events and you will level up with time. If you are the type that really loves grinding levels, you can do “hearts”.
EDIT: Also, they are going to fix the story (which is in bad shape since a previous update) and change some other things, so there will be some big changes when HoT comes out.

All I want is the missing Elona chapter for Guild Wars Beyond, in which Palawa Joko’s takeover starts.
YES! Also, tell us what happened to Evennia…
The way this game is set up, it doesn’t make sense to have conditions NOT affect random objects like weapon racks and houses. Already, you can bleed ice elementals and do other nonsensical things with conditions.
It made sense in GW1 because it only gave the speed boost when there were dead allies in earshot.
Play whatever you want however you want.
There is no relation.
Dwarves are fighting Primordous, but does that mean they are related at all?
Jotun have nothing to do with Jormag.
Glint isn’t directly related to the Forgotten at all.
There is nothing to link the Mursaat and Mordremoth.
We haven’t even seen any Seers since GW1 times.
(edited by narwhalsbend.7059)
Considering one class includes three professions, that is still quite a bit of choice.
