As a mesmer that does a lot of roaming, I must say that thieves that try to jump you are the best.
As soon as they strike you, hit Decoy then blast them with Polymorph Moa; they just run around like headless moas while you spike them down.
You can do whatever you want with the armor.
I doubt that most people would bother to switch the armors all the time. Ascended really isn’t that great of a bonus over exotic anyway. I would say put some exotic armor on your other characters while you decide if you want to craft their own ascended armors.
I would also recommend to not follow the “meta” because it’s “meta”. There are no runes that “should be” on any profession and the only people that will ask you to link your armor in dungeons are gold speed runners.
It won’t work because you only need one armor weight.
So what you want is a Paragon with Spear of Lightning.
I hope there is more; I love it.
I find many of the choices pertaining to Animal Companions to be very bad choices. Like having 4 pigs. What is the reason for having 4 pigs when we could have a Raptor?
If Oink was a pet option, every ranger would have a pig pet.
Oink from GW1? There were Warthogs you could get, but never really noticed Rangers using pigs other than for laughs or to be different. 99% of the ones I knew, and most who I pugged with for dailies had Black Widow/Moa.
I used my Rainbow Phoenix just to show off. Isn’t that what ranger pets are for anyway?

They would be functionally the same as greatswords, so no.
we need flying content. give us wings and let us combat in the air.
flying is similar to swimming anyway. Mechanic wise. So just copy underwater combat to aerial combat.
Please be joking.
I’ve been an advocate of this forever (see past posts and signature). So, I’ll chime in again here and say I fully support it. I’d like to see completely underwater zones out in the middle of the ocean or a quaggan utopia or something. Make it happen.
I will one up you and say that Largos should be the next playable race, with their own zones and everything.
I love underwater combat. I want more of it. I remapped by Alt key to be Down and the Space is default up, so movement really isn’t that bad in three dimensions. It’s really a shame that people don’t want to do underwater combat. There are lots of cool events underwater and I want to see more. Underwater zerg clashes are great too.
And why can Mesmers dual wield pistols while Warriors cannot? :p
Mesmers only have access to pistol offhand.
I only play humans and sylvari because I like to dress up my cute female characters in lots of pretty armors.
I can’t play Charr because I’m still angry about the Searing.
I don’t play Norn or Asura at all because they shouldn’t exist.
How about “Legendary Defender of [Shaemoor, Black Citadel, the Dream, etc.]”?
You must reach level 80 without leaving the first instance.100% hardcore PvP player-base gets title done in the time it takes to double click 80 (or 1+60) tomes of knowledge…
You can access a bank in the first instance?
If you have the golem banker on your account, you can access it there. But I’m pretty sure you can’t level in the beginning instances.
That’s okay, it was just a suggestion for those Legendary Defenders of Ascalon.

You can access a bank in the first instance? Also it wasn’t meant to be serious; just a joke for GW1 players.

I have the most issue with the helicopters. They appear to be powered by a fire in the main chamber, which would be dangerous and leave no space for troops to ride. They are also very “vertical”. Is there like a hatch on the bottom and a ladder for someone to climb up into it? How does it move forward (or any direction)? There is only one set of blades on the top!
In real life, technology progresses based on past inventions, but if this is true, how did helicopter technology progress from the current Pact Helicopters to the KT-29 Moahawk that the Ebon Vanguard uses at some point in the future? They are very different.

I really only have trouble with Sylvari names.
I just wish it had occurred to me to keep the containers instead of opening them all before had about 20 tools sat in my bank.
This so much.
As much as I hate all the gem store and immersion-breaking tacky things, I did have the cat ears on my mesmer…
I use soldiers on my power mesmer with GS/SS.
If you are jumped by a thief, use the swords. Lots of survivability there, with #2 being invulnerable, #3 immobilize, and #4 block/interrupt.
When you have the chance, Moa it then spike it down with your greatsword.
Mesmers are the worst. They can just go invis and teleport until their buddies show up. Warrior/Guardian’s have the worst downed state skills IMO.
Even if you knock them down as Warrior they can still stomp you before Last Stand is available making it a useless skill.
Mesmers the worst? The stealth only lasts a few seconds and the teleport is a short distance and completely random.
@narwhalsbend “We already have on race of plant people; we don’t need more. Also, the developers want to avoid anything culturally specific.”
Say what?!?
Juggernauts already exist in GW lore.
I forget where and who, but there’s a group of ancestors of henchmen standing around in Divinity’s Reach. You can go find them and talk to them.
There is no “healer” class; there is only “light”, “medium”, and “heavy”.
None of these proposed skills are Mesmer-ey at all. Sometimes it’s best to go back to the classics.
Stolen Speed:
Nearby foes activate skills 50% slower while the caster gains 3 seconds of quickness for each affected foe (max 5). Cooldown: 20s
RIP Fast Casting; gone but not forgotten. ;_;
…mounts…
By all means, please leave.
Careful now, your tears might destroy your keyboard.
And your gleaming white armor might blind you if you look in the mirror.
why not reintroduce dual class?
Everyone would just use the heaviest class possible and re-skin their armor with whatever they want.
Juggernaut – very high defense, very low attack, but works with conditions inflicting.
Heavy armor; maul/mace main hand and warhorn/torch off hand for melee; rifle and whip (new weapon) for ranged. Lower range than other ranged (1,000)
Elites: 1. stone giant form (invulnerability for x seconds, slow moving) 2. Avalanche (speed attack, interrupt and stun X targets xxx radius)
We already have on race of plant people; we don’t need more. Also, the developers want to avoid anything culturally specific.
In a strange twist of fate, it’s Sarah.
Gwen will not be happy.
New class? We already have light, medium, and heavy; what else do you need?
GW1 monks were made into Guardians.
Let’s see:
1. Fix GW2
2. Gem Store mysteriously dies overnight.
3. A true sequel to GW1 is released.
Anyone that is chosen to represent a board will not do a good job. Everyone is biased in some way. I think it’s a terrible idea because of this.
What happens if they select one of those “OMG I LOVE MOUNTS AND NEED ELVES AND CATGIRLS” crazies and they hype it up to make it seem like people actually want that?
No thanks; the forum is fine as it is now and no amount of people half-youknowwhating their unpaid semi-moderatorship will help.
But I still do appreciate that you’re trying to interact with us more, just this isn’kitten
I really don’t understand where ANet is going with this game and LS….I mean except reddit’s GW2 fanboys, how many players actually care about the lore of GW2 at this point? GW2 always had a weak story and lore….so I’m not sure why ANet is forcing this on the players…The whole living story idea was never planned very well and the guys at ANet really need to sit around a table and re-think their whole strategy because at the moment, they have no clue where they are going with this game….
I care about the lore of Guild Wars. The “lore” of Guild Wars 2 is “do whatever, just sell more gems!”
Did you try disabling the buttons on the place where Canach is?
So….how is the egg of a liberated champion that lost to it’s original master going to help us defeat another dragon who is possibly more powerful?
Tune in again next fortnight for yet another unnecessary cliffhanger that doesn’t answer this question.
Still waiting for the option to Buy to win the tokens/skins in the gemstore.
Because where we are going thats going to be the end all be all ‘guildwars’ 2.
I agree. Even an impossible grindfest is better than the gem store.
Seriously?
First you want us to grind hard to get other armor class skins, now you want us to grind even harder just to get one boot skin? You can’t give us at least one without grinding for hours?
You really expect us to grind (at least) two thousand crests just to finish one set of armor, then grind 10,000 more to finish the other two class armors, then grind tens of thousands more bandit crests to do luminescent? And by the way, we didn’t get any crests for doing the missions this time.
I am not one to say that I deserve free armor skins because I’m special, but this is ridiculous.
Yet another wobbly step down the slippery slope. How long until mounts? Or instant level 80s?
They weren’t even that hard to begin with, and even less now that they’ve been nerfed.
If what you’re doing right now isn’t working, try something else.
EDIT: Oh you mean those wolves.
Guild Wars is not the game you want it to be, and that’s okay.
You’re like the guy that wanted catgirls.
That’s fine, but not in GW2.
“Elder Dragons” and the extraneous races already took it too far in my opinion, we don’t need any more lore-exterminating additions.
I VERY MUCH doubt that we will ever go back to the Realm of Torment again.
First and foremost, there are only two known ways in there.
The first being through the Door of Komalie, which, if opened, would unleash titans across Tyria. So scratch that one off.
Second is the Mouth of Torment, which Varesh opened ~250 years ago and was probably closed after Kormir took over, though there’s no way of knowing. Theoretically, if the Mouth of Torment is even still open, it’s possible that we could use Pact Airships to fly over the sulfurous desolation and drop us in the Vortex.
Even further though then follows: Does the Realm of Torment even exist anymore as it once was? You would think Kormir would clean up after the previous resident. Maybe rename it too?
There is at least one profession in each armor class that can use a greatsword.
Is she saying that lore doesn’t matter?
[quote=4589074;Gilosean.3805:]
Maybe?
One thing to keep in mind is that we don’t really know how long time have passed (in-game) since those things were destroyed. And right now basically all resources are focused on attacking in the Dragon rather than rebuilding stuff.
They changed the whole calendar so that it’s one for one with ours, so exactly how long since then in our world has passed in-game.
I might see LA taking a while to rebuild, but Fort Concordia is a small wooden structure. Just chop down the vines and fix the broken things. It’s not that hard.
The vines in Iron Marches? I find it hard to believe they haven’t been flamethrowered to ash by now. This is the charr we’re talking about.
Even in LA, there are still workers banging their hammers on the SAME bridge that they have been for months!
