I decided Rose needed some color. I played around with pink and purple since those are mesmer colors. Pink won out, and I’m really happy with her new colors.

Ok thanks for the replies. I don’t want to buy the T6 mats from TP because i need to save gold to buy the precursor and icy runestones for the legendary so i think i will use my laurels. I will farm for a month or two first though and see where i’m at.

How many of you do (or did) that to make your legendary weapon? I do my dailies and monthlies religously and i don’t really need ascended trinkets but since they are time gated i’m just not sure if it’s a good idea to use laurels for this purpose. Advice?

For frostgorge sound just try guesting to a few different high population servers until you find one with a good zerg. I’ve got a couple that i use now since it died totally on my home srver.

Forgive me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think anything you do in PvP equates to PvE or WvW. And not sure if anyone mentioned it, but when you go to the mists for PvP you need to see the weapons and armor “merchants” to choose your gear, which is all free. You then go see another guy (can’t remember what he’s called) where you get an free amulet. So, you choose your stats for everything. They you go play. You can take as much time as needed to choose your stuff. There are also PvP “lockers” where you can store PvP achievement armors and weapons. Also a PvP “points” merchant where you can spend PvP specific rewards.

BTW there is a thread typically in these forums for each race/profession that says “rate the look of the …. above you”. If you post in there, you are obviously looking for FEEDBACK on your look. This thread, it seems to me, is for people just to post their pic without necessarily getting feedback other than perhaps people asking what armor or color is used.

Why? Criticism is good in general aslong you are not offensive. I really like to hear a post like “ew that looks horrible – you should try XY” or “the gloves destroy the outfit” etc. Also you don’t have to post anything if you are unable to recive criticism.

Because this is a GAME and people are usually posting their pics here because THEY think they have a great look. If you like purple and I hate purple, I’m obviously not going to like your purple outfit. Doesn’t mean I have to make you feel bad for wearing purple. That’s just rude and uncalled for. Maybe people just enjoy making others feel bad for some reason, but why? I don’t get it and I never will.

I’m sure… lots more, though I’ve never played any game where there was a sub fee. As I’ve stated many times in different threads, I have a good job that pays well and this is my only game/entertainment. I can afford it and I enjoy the game.

At one point i saved up about 400g and then the TA weapons appeared on the TP. i now have the sword, GS, mace, hammer and war horn. There went all my gold…and i got them BEFORE they increased in price. Yes, there are always things to spend gold on.

Shufflepants made some good points. I think we have the same issue on my server regarding WvW. Personally i like to play in both areas and can really notice the lack of people in wvw compared to pve. Yet at reset and world boss train time the world becomes overwhelmingly busy so that overflows are created. The only time i see waits for wvw is on friday night reset when the wvw guilds are all in.

I don’t understand people who post negative comments about looks of armor. If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all comes to mind.

Then added generic looking exotic sets of armor for 800 gem’s. They could leave out the trinkets and accessories.

Personally the more I think about this the more I am like why don’t they? When the game first launched it wouldn’t have made since sure exotics where hard to get. The average player now can get full exotics with in a day of hitting max level if not before. There is always the option now to get full exotics from the trade post with gold.

I really can’t think of a reason this is a bad idea special with the introduction of ascended armor. That way Anet can release more skins into the game giving us more options for customization.

I agree with this. Speaking as someone who is on a “high population” server that actually is NOT high, I would love it if there was an underflow system.

You’re obviously from a high tier, loaded server or good at PvP. I do not make money in WvW. I’m lucky to break even. Admittedly I’m not a PvPer, so I probably tend to die more than some. I do have fun though, so it’s worth every epic (or sad) death!

I’m not paying 4,000g for the legendary. I’m paying 600g for the precursor and playing the game while getting the rest of the mats. I don’t plan on selling it, but using it because I like the look of it. I would indeed not know what to do with 4,000g … if I wasn’t going to buy a legendary with it!

I usually see a gold seller in LA every day. A different one every day, of course. I report and block. Takes 2 seconds. I did notice that when I was in the PvP mists that it was pretty bad. Whispers and map chat. That was quite annoying.

Look at gw2crafting.net. Most times you advance and unlock better recipes by discovery.

I think Tagus summed it up very well. The developers don’t want you to be able to get everything with farming, or the gem shop wouldn’t make enough money. And let’s be honest, they need the gem store dollars since they have no sub fee. Regardless of whether or not you think this game is perfect, they do have employees that have to be paid and servers and equipment that have to be maintained, and that isn’t cheap (yes, I’m sure you all want everything for free for all time, but that’s not how our society works!).

I also agree with chrono in that I believe there are few “middle class” or “upper middle class” citizens in GW2.

However, it all depends on how you play. I think you should do the things you enjoy because this is your GAME, your free time, your “happy place”. In the end it doesn’t matter what everyone else has compared to you as long as you’re having fun.

There are lots of ways to spend gold, or lots to spend gold on, but personally I finally decided to start working toward a legendary, since that’s the only thing left that I don’t have. I’m not expecting to get it overnight. I’ll farm for a few months. But still, it gives me something to save up my gold for (precursor) since I don’t NEED anything else, and I enjoy the farming. Just today I was going through Cursed Shore to gather some mats and ended up finding 3 chests and even getting my Orr Explorer achievement, which I wasn’t even trying for But most importantly I was having fun because that’s what I felt like doing.

Ya you really have to check with people in the zerg cuz on my server we don’t usually do bandit unless someone really needs the vista there. On my server it’s troll > oak > spider > boar and wasp if it spawns.

A lot if you have no materials saved up. You could do a couple cheaper ones for part leveling. I thinks chef is cheapest. Check gw2crafts.net. they list exactly what you need and approx cost. A note if you use it…do NOT refresh or close the page cuz it updates like every half hour so ingredients will change.

Well realistically crafting would be fastest – you could easily get at least close to 80 in one day, if your eyes don’t start bleeding from boredom. But ya, even just getting waypoints and POIs – great for leveling and unlocking the maps at the same time. You don’t have to do any events. For easy XP, unlock all the POIs and WPs in the major cities

Exactly the same here. I keep thinking i’ll do a part when it’s part of the dailies…but i don’t. Part of the issue for me is that if i have to leave the game before the instance is over then i’m either stuck in it or have to do i all over again. They ARE boring to me. It would at least be nice to know how long each instance might take so i can judge if i might have enough time to complete it.

Some people have better luck that others…for some it’s almost like being stuck in permanent diminished returns. At a time last winter when farming is Cursed Shore was in full swing and an average player could make 5-12 gold very quickly, for some, if you were affected by this problem you were lucky to make 1 gold for the same effort and it always consistent over time. Sounds like a conspiracy theory, but there was a huge thread studying the issue some time ago which identified some patterns in the phenomenon. Everything pointed to a serious bug in the RNG. Of course ANet never conceded there were any issues. I don’t even think they acknowledged the thread and believe they eventually merged the thread with something else in hopes it would die.

Ya, I feel that. When I go to FGS I do ok (avg 7g per hour). When I go to Cursed Shore… yikes. I’d be lucky to walk away with 1g in an hour. Mostly all I get is frustration and a CR*PLOAD of cr*p. I hate going to Cursed Shore. I mean.. I really, really, really hate it. I don’t go there now unless I’m in the world boss train.

As I recently stated in another thread, I use bloodlust on my OH mace. I hit lots of mobs with #5 knockdown, so 25 stacks happen quick, plus I like the added bonus of the knockdown as well as adding vulnerability with mace #4. I tried using axe/axe a long time ago, but didn’t care for it. I use force on my GS and MH axe. This setup works for me, so keep in mind it is just MHO.

Seriously, this whole thing is completely ludicrous at this point. Although I give kudos to ANet for responding in a timely and fair fashion on the whole problem, I do hope they’re learning a valuable lesson here. Think before acting. What you do has consequences and sends ripple effects (apparently for eons) within the entire community.

Personally, I have had enough of this topic. There was a problem. A fair solution was found. Get on with your life already.

FGS champ train is strong on TC for sure (I guest there now). On my server it is gone completely. I think other much larger servers still have it.

I find the absolute best way to get gold and/or mats is through the world boss train at reset. In 2 hours I’m probably making about 15g, if I sell everything. If you’re looking for ectos, this is great. I generally get 25 ectos per night.

However, to be fair, I don’t do dungeons in general. I’m sure those are also good for gold. Not to mention good TP investments. I know a lot of people make money from that as well, but it requires some good knowledge and intuition and fairly heft start up capital.

If you don’t like them, don’t buy them. In this case, the best way to “vote” and show ANet you don’t like it is to keep your gems/money in your wallet.

I’ll just say here that OH mace is great for giving you a couple seconds of a knocked down mob (or mobs, if they happen to be in a straight line). On top of that, with superior sigil of bloodlust on the mace you can end up with 25 stacks of extra power. That increases DPS significantly. I truly love my axe/mace and GS setup because I kill anything… fast.

I did not try that but it seems to be working again. Not sure if anet saw my post in bug report area and fixed it or it just worked itself out but it does work now.

Crafting….did that once. I’d rather never do it again.

How do you transmute them?

Anything would be better than having to do the same boring stuff over and over again. I can’t bring myself to make another character for this reason.

Sorry … i didn’t agree with what ANet did realeasing reworked cultural armor. However how can you complain about new armor you have not even seen yet? Maybe it will be even more awesome!

If tagging is your goal, then go with LB. If you want high DPS and a fast way to get to melee range, use GS. Personally, if I were doing loot runs like world boss train, I’d want LB to tag lots of stuff. In a dungeon and for small groups, I want to put out as much DPS as possible, so GS is what I use. I only do boss train maybe twice a week, so I don’t bother to re-trait for LB. I just leave traits for GS. I do, however, retrait for WvW, where I use a completely different weapon and armor set. Just my 2 cents.

Before the patch my stack got to 25 in no time at all – doing the FGS champ train or whatever. Since the patch I get zip. Nothing. I rotated kills with all 3 weapons I had equipped just to see if that made a difference, and … nope. I think at this point I’ll create a ticket when I get home. Must be something account specific if no one else is having the issue. This is the first time anything like this has happened to me at least

I posted this in the bug forum as well. I main a warrior with a superior sigil of bloodlust on my mace, and use an axe/mace and GS setup in PvE. Since the update I have no power stacking from the sigil. Does any other warrior have this sigil and have you noticed any issues? I tried killing lots of different mobs with every weapon I had equiped, to no avail. Not sure if this is just my character or not. In the bug forum one other person said they could not recreate that problem. Just curious…anyone else?

Maybe I should add I have it on my mace, and I was using axe/mace and GS for weapons last night and this morning. Again, as I stated above, I killed mobs with every weapon, multiple times, and no power stack at all.

I don’t know … I just have no power stacks, whereas I always did before the patch. I was on the FGS champ train on TC server this morning and I did not get one stack of extra power. I killed champs with every weapon just to be sure. I noticed it last night as well, not on the champ train, just running around killing random mobs. No power stack. Should I do a support ticket? I paid a lot for that sigil – I would like it to work.

Hi, since the patch my superior sigil of bloodlust doesn’t work. Maybe ANet can look into this? I am not getting any power stacking at all.
