My guess is that the OP has been reading article like these:

Few reasons from a regular turret engi hater.
1- turret is the easiest build in the game and can carry extremely bad players.
2. turret engi players are usually not smart and they will afk and make it 4v5
3. they ruin the experience of other people because its an AI build that is frustrating to fight against4. They make uneven teams in solo Q. Let’s say we have 1 bad player , exemple a mesmer that is always dead and the opposite team has also a bad player but a turret engi so he can still be useful even if he has the same skill level of the garbage mesmer on our team. Basically bad players should not be hard to kill just because of their build.
That’s pretty much it.
Just wanted to say, while the first 3 points do make sense (not that I agree with them) the 4th is the one that I must comment on.
You imply that turret engis are difficult to beat, even if they are a bad player, which would also strongly imply that they are overpowered. Well, my necro, ranger, ele, and warrior say hi. I’ve said before I would consider myself a below average player. However, I can still beat turret engis 1v1 with little difficulty. My warrior does have a bit of a problem from time to time, but I have done it several times. They are not difficult to kill. Rangers, if they are smart, can drop them down from a distance away from their turrets, a necro just stacks condis and watch them bleed, staff ele with AoE? no contest. The problem isn’t that its a simple AI build that makes it easy for a bad player to win, it’s just that other prosfessions need to take a different approach to fighting them. If you try to go heads up against a turret engi inside his turret zone, you are asking to be rekt. If you can draw the engi out of his safe zone…they drop like a zerker ele going afk.
While I can see the desire to aquire it to fill out your pet collection, and the look, in functionality though, it is exactly the same as the jungle spider.
Not trying to troll, or be a kitten, but this post makes me uncomfortable. I find it a bit creepy, but thats just me. I may not be the only one that feels this way. While there are plently of female players, seeking them out in this manner just doesn’t feel right. You might have better luck in game, or with your guild. Good luck.
Well I don’t know. I’ve already seen a post like this about a woman looking for other women to play with and everyone was pretty positive about it. Would you call them creepy as well?
Yes. Yes I would.
It’s one thing to look for a group to play with, or even a guild to do specific things with (i.e RP, dungeons, WvW, JPs, etc.) but to ask for a specific gender…? Of course it is well within the OPs “rights” to do so (as far as I can tell within the forum CoC), and I’m not saying he shouldn’t be able to ask, just that it’s kind of creepy. He might have better luck on craigslist.
Three days is the longest. Most issues are resolved within 24 hours.
Most tickets take at least 24 hours. But many times they can take up to 72 hours. If after the 72 hours, and you still havent heard anything check this out: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Tickets-for-Review-3-days-older-Part-2-merged
Also it would be helpful to read this as well: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Delayed-or-No-Ticket-Reply-Read-This/first#post4533589
Under no circumstances should you submit another ticket concerning this issue, it will only delay the response time on your original ticket and make things worse.

What if there was a chat window command that would give us a list of online GMs for that world. If we see an invisible attacker or some other form of quick hack then we could whisper the GM directly.
If we can’t click on a player to report them, this might give us a means of calling a GM to the correct time and place. It would also let us see that there are active GMs and give them a more visible presence without doing something overt.
I could see problems with a massive amount of PMs to GMs and that would actually hinder their efforts. But what about a GM chat channel? Where you can briefly describe whats going on and a link to the nearest WP, POI, vista, etc. However said channel would have a very strict and narrow spam detection, where you would only be able to post 1 message every 10-15 minutes or so? This could help solve that problem. However, there is still the potential for overwhelming the GMs with so many posts about issues. The absolute best way would be to have a cheating/hacking/exploit report tool in the reporting options. (as has been brought up a bunch )
People either ate them all or exterminated all horses because they were too similar to the centaurs. Or maybe Centaurs are the result of some abominable breeding experiments of horse and humans which led to the extinction of the normal horses?
But that would mean…..ASURA!!!
So Asura are the creators of the Centaurs, bred to destroy humans as the early Asura (as in those just come up to the surface) saw humans as a threat….
I think MF is capped at 300% from essences of luck. After that, any MF buffs are applied normally. (i.e banners, food, infusions, etc.)
The reality is most of them are rares and some greens, with the upgrades. Thats going to be my next project.
then this would be the reason why your stats seem a bit low.
Don’t for get you can use Karma, dungeon tokens and wvw badges to help you get set up,
Yup. But like I said, I pretty much leveled this character through PvP, and only just started to gear him out for PvE.
it looks about right if any thing you a bit higher then normal, because of the Accurcy sigil and going 6 in to skirmishing instead of 5.
you are missing zerker upgrades in your trinkets and don’t for get spotter adds 7% (i think) when in battle. it might look a little worse on you h panel if you are using less then exotic.
This is what could be considered stock standard for dungeons
Yeah, I haven’t got to my trinkets yet, but with just the exoctics without the upgrades is about where I am at now. The reality is most of them are rares and some greens, with the upgrades. Thats going to be my next project. But I am mainly trying to go for dungeon soloing with this one.

I think a tengu dance video would look something like this
I can easily get a key in a little over an hour even after the run nerf.
I may be missing something here, but does that mean that it is more economical to key run rather than farm gold to buy the key?
It terms of pure cost, yes its more economical to do a key run then farm the gold to buy the key. Why? Well, for each transaction in converting gold to gems, the cost in gold for gems increases. Thus making subsequent gold farming for keys more expensive. Also, unless you are buying gear for your key run character, it’s cheaper then doing dungeons. Doing dungeons requires you to travel. So if you want to do them quickly you are going to be using the WPs, which for a level 80 character, and depending on which order you are doing the runs, can cost at least 2s per WP.
In doing key runs, at least leveling to level 10, there are little to no costs invloved and thus every coin you gain, is profit.
At least thats how I look at it.
I love my war pig of doom!!!
Yes I run Pig, and warthog, and occasionally Siamoth. Love their f2 forage skill.
Most sales will go smoothly if you don’t use protection but when you are eventually griefed, you will be really kittened as there is no recourse when it happens.
Remember boys and girls, always use protection.
Yeah. I was thinking about that when I was selling. As soon as someone joined I grabbed a screen shot of their name just in case. But I am going to try it again, and hopefully I can get a few fillers, as well as a greatly reduced running time
Just curious.. what profession are you soloing with?
I did it with a warrior. Tried again last night with my ranger, and it was going MUCH smoother, as most of the bosses you can do at ranged with little to no difficulty. But the problem I ran into with my ranger was dodging off of the platform at the second boss of SE p1 :P it was late and I was tired so I gave up.
Ok, so I have my ranger up to lvl 80 through mostly pvp, and want to get him into pve and dungeons. So I am running full beserker gear, and as of now a lower level mix of trinkets (only realy just started gearing him up) but it still seems that my crit chance is pretty low. This is basically what I’ve got going on, I’ll try to take a screen shot of exactly what I have when I get a chance. But is this a general idea. Is this a normal crit chance? or is there something else I could do to get a better one?

What if “E” is not a single individual? But rather a secret cabal of people which includes our Mysteriousy skritt, centaurs, beggers, etc.? Something akin to the Order of Whispers, but even more secret and elsusive? And given the emphasis on mind magic and mesmers, wouldn’t it stand to reason that the “E” individuals are able to communicate with each other using that same magic?

Ok, so I read the thread and the comments about DR. He did say that 26 in the last hour had hit DR. (at the time of his post). He did also state, that virtually nobody hits DR, and with the exception of the halloween event, DR isn’t even a thing. The way I read that is, DR is still there, and although VERY few people hit it, it isn’t something that an average player, or even a hardcore farmer should have to be worried about.
At least thats what I got out of it.

This is thr process to do the repair. Also you can use these steps to make sure the tag “-repair” is not added so you are not doing a repair each time you try to run the game.

I wasn’t expecting instant service, Lovi’s post was about 24 hours after my ticket was sent in. I do blame myself for my issue, you dont see me crying that its their fault for not being able to log in. Nope thats all me, however it was their lack of any kind of response outside of an automated “we got your request” email, and the time it took to hear anything back.
To use your analogy, would you be happy going to a restaurant, order your food.. and not get it for 36 hours without ever seeing a server again, or hearing from the chef/proprietor?
I find it sad that people have the “get used to it” mentality and accept sub-par customer service. Come on people… you or someone close to you spent money so you can be here. Yes, you should expect good communication/customer service. That’s the basis for good business
To get a response, and a fix within 72 hours of submitting a ticket is actually a really quick response. I’ve submitted tickets for other products with other companies for support, and have waited weeks to hear any kind of response. During the time that I’ve had to wait, I’ve been able to find a solution and fix the problem myself.
Also, contacting Anet directly, via phone, isn’t going to get you to support. At the most it will be to the front desk, where you will be told to submit a ticket.
It’s not “sub-par” customer service. All my dealings with them have been resolved quickly, and efficiently. However, since your issue has been resolved, this thread can now be closed.
I’m sorry to hear your cs experiences in this and other games took so long. My experiences haven’t been the same, nor is it how i treat my clients (agreed its not the same kind of business). Which is why I consider this one to be below standard at best.
Oh, maybe I wasn’t clear. My experiences with CS on this game has been far above excellent. Responses were quick, and resolutions have come, in some cases, within 24 hours.
Some of my other dealings with CS on other products, not necessarily games, has been god awful at best. In one case, a paticular issue took several months to get resolved. They even tried to tell my that the issues on the account were my fault.
Even so, having a dealine of 72 hours, is not unreasonable. A dealine that is met at least 90% of the time, and if not, a means to get fast attention to the ticket and resolved are readily available.
Unfortunately in my case (I was unable to log in) there are no other options outside of the initial ticket request I could take. Making another ticket sends you to the end of the queue, and you can’t post on the forum without logging in, which I couldn’t do without buying another copy of GW2 and registering it to just be able to post. Hence why we were so frustrated at the lack of contact information and communication.
I can understand that. But as I said ealier, without any over the phone support, all you would be able to get is the front desk, which would then tell you to submit a ticket.
Running any type of live support gets to be very costly. As said before, there is no subscription fees, and all the income comes from gems sales and box sales. So in order to reduce operating costs, they implemented the ticket system for any and all support issues. Yes it can be frustration not being able to communicate live with someone, however they still are able to find solutions to most problems in a reasonable amount of time (within 3 days), and in some cases that very day. (As with my issue).
So for a free to play game, (as in no subs, no pay to win, etc.) having recieved such a quick response (36 hours if I remember is what you said) and solution is actually pretty good. If they were to implement phone, or other live support, you could reasonably expect box prices to increase, cost of gems for real money increase, gem store prices to increase, a removal of gold to gems conversion, and possibly a subscription fee, all just to cover the convience of being able to chat, or talk live to someone to get an issue resolved.
To remove someone using hacks (teleports, speed, etc) we have to witness the act in game so you must use the in-game reporting tool. The only exception is if you can point us to chat where the player cheating has said they are using a 3rd party program.
The problem is: The in-game reporting tool doesn’t give an option to actually point the person is hacking. And a lot of people are afraid of reporting for somenthing else because we risk getting our accounts suspended for “false report”.
Can Anet at least add a “Hacking” option on the report list?
I believe this has been discussed on many occassions, and if I remember correctly the response was to use “botting” for now. But yes this is a catagory that needs to be implemented, and I believe will at some point.
Are you trying to run it with the -repair command each time?

Well, as others said we are the Comander of the Pact (or at least one of many)
We are not the leader, which at this point is still Trahearn.Would be cool if we could choose our title at some point and be introduced with it. The voicactor for that should be available often, though. YOu know, for the different titles we get
Hey Boss, look at this interesting rock I found.
Boss, boss, boss, boos, booss.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Argh, don`t remind me.
Yes, I know we they need some generic description on how to call us, but Boss just grinds my nerves. It feels so wrong (and came without any introduction… again…).
I wish to decide how my underlings may call me, as I am Prince Fluffypants the thrid, ruler of darkness and all that is evil, thank you very much. (Title still pending, I think I would have to fight for it anyway… So yeah, I guess I stay with the simple Mistwalker or how it was called… Scarlet Killer sounds cool too, but a bit ebalorate…)
The problem with being able to choose your title though is the voice acting. But the term “boss” in this case is more informal and familiar. Of course they could use our formal title “Commander” as Trehearne does. However, I feel that such formality would put too much “distance” between us and the biconics. We wouldn’t have the emotional connections that we do with them now.

They already have this item in the gem store. Unless you are talking about having more then 64 characters.
Im beginning to think that the OP is actually videogamermike…
Just….wow….
Yeah, OP it’ still the 17th, it’ll be up tomorrow as promised.
I’m starting a 5k to support Ghaleon’s efforts in this thread. Who’s with me?
Is it an in-game 5k? You do realize you are talking to a bunch of gamers who are on the forums in the middle of the day…
To most of us “outside” is considered to be a beautifully rendered 3D world. However, the lack of any decent mechanics, horrible AI, and glaring lack of story, plot, or memorable characters it’s not really worth our time. :P
Good point. I guess in that case, I’ll make it in-game. It’ll be a race from Divinity’s Reach to Lion’s Arch.
I’m down!
You think because you’re popular makes you good at the game? Wrong,! I know a lot of engis that don’t try hard at this game and are 10 times the engi you are. In my honest opinion, you’re mediocre at best.
Can you quote me anywhere where I’ve boasted about my in-game skills, or ‘popularity’ or claimed to be the best Engineer..?
Honestly I get just as much joy out of watching your arguments about Engineers fall apart and devolve into attacks on other players because you’ve opened your mouth too much and revealed for all to see, the vacuous black hole that is your knowledge of GW2.
Just because we don’t agree on something, doesn’t make my knowledge of the game a black hole. The fact is that the current engi is too strong and it needs to be tone down.
I agree, just because you don’t agree one something doesn’t mean you your knowledge is lacking. However, what you have stated as “fact” has been proven on several ocassions to not be entirely true. Are engineers strong? yes, but so are many other professions and builds. Are they too strong to the point of being overpowered? Not at all.
Again, if I, a below average player, can beat a engi in 1v1 more often then not, then engis are not OP or too strong.
I think the term Overpowered is being tossed about so much without actually understanding what it means. Overpowered: To affect so strongly as to make helpless or ineffective; overwhelm.
Are engineers affecting other classes so much, that they helpless or ineffective? Nope. If this is the case, how so?
Are Engineers overwhelming PvP, WvW, or PvE? To the point where they are rendering zergs, bosses, mobs, and players ineffective or helpless? Last I heard Engineer DPS was awful at best, but I could be wrong.
In conclusion. Engineers are not OP and are not too strong as to be considered broken.

Yeah, I actually kinda liked it after leveling all the way through it as well. And yes, the open world trait thing is kind of a pain. Some of them you can get by exploring, and just wandering around. However, if you are doing zone completion for leveling, you’ll already be level 80 before you even get to the zones that have the events for the traits.
But I do like the level up rewards (I just wish they were salvagable :P) and how the PS steps play out. So I can do a block at a time and move on.
@Ghaleon
Just on rangers vs engi…Rangers can beat engi. I’ve done it, and seen it done, unless you are a total noob. And Ele vs Engi, it depends on what the ele is running. D/D? fairly even. Staff? Favor ele vs engi any day of the week.
Also eles have invuls….http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Obsidian_Flesh
Where is the invuls on the current D/D ele meta?
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mist_Form
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fortify from http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Conjure_Earth_Shield
And these are slot skills, not weapon skills. Also while the meta is the favored setup, sometimes using other utilities for different situations is better then just blindly following what is popular at the moment.

down 3 should be interrupt able.
It is. Target the pet, and stun/knock back.
Don’t listen to pdavis, targeting the pet does nothing so don’t bother trying it. Y’all just need to accept that rangers are immortal and the best thing to do when fighting one is to stand perfectly still without using skills so that it is a quick death and you don’t suffer.
I agree. Maybe thats why LB Ranger is considered overpowered… :P
down 3 should be interrupt able.
It is. Target the pet, and stun/knock back.
This is what I run in tPvP. It’s not the highest toughness or vitality, but I like it. It’s not super glassy, but does have a bit of vitality. I don’t know. But I like it.
Well you could say ‘if pet dead no heals!’, but then Rangers would only have 3 downed skills, since when a ranger is downed their pet is usually dead too.
Bear in mind also that pets currently die very easily, and that Rangers already suffer numerous penalties when they do – e.g no F-skills, significant drop in DPS, some traits rendered useless and several utilities rendered useless.
It’s a shame really, because too much of the ranger profession is reliant on a terribly flawed mechanic – the pet. It’s why you see so many Longbow PewNewbs – it’s a build with higher reward with less reliance on the pet. If pets actually become viable in the future then maybe questions like yours will come up for more debate.
Actually I don’t know about you guys, but I play a LB ranger in PvP and actually use my pets quite often. Spider for immob, then RF into thier face is always fun. Or one of my favorites, PBS to interrupt a stomp, then spider immob with RF. Or PBS, spider immob, switch to pig for the knock down. Pets can be VERY useful, but as you said, the “pewNewbs” don’t fully realize just how awesome pets can be, and tend to neglect them.
Zerg farming can be fun and profitable, and a great way to get mats. However it depends on the zerg. Some are kittens, and will try to exploit events for maximum profitablity. Others will actually get a bunch of people to scale up the events, then follow them to completion, and reset the chain.
Personally I’m not a huge fan of zerg farming either way. I have nothing against it, unless they are of the former group. (i.e haters and kittens). But farming is actually a good thing. If they are farming to sell, it helps lower prices in the TP, as they are helping increase the supply, instead of increasing the demand. And if they are farming for use, then they are not increasing the demand, which also helps keep prices lower. But I prefer to do my farming solo. I have found a few areas with decent T6 drops, and while solo I can generally get ~10 an hour, sometimes more.
First, take fillers. Ask 3 other people to come into your lfg and kick them 1 by 1 after the next pug paid. That way you avoid white knight tards. Asking for a donation won’t work if your goal is to sell. Either give, or sell, but don’t find a middle ground. 2g is really cheap, especially considering you get 1,7-1,8g back.
I might have to try that. Thanks!
As far as I know, none of the consumable xp, or karma items are effected by boosters.
No matter how hard you’ll try, you’ll get kicked and insulted for selling. Se P1 won’t sell for high, as it’s relatively easy to solo except tazza, and most pugs manage to get the run done in a short amount of time. Try to sell ac/cm for xp, ta aether and arah for dungeon master/ tokens.
Yeah, thats what I was thinking too. However, I guess my question would be, how do I advertise it, and how to I ensure I get paid? I understand there is a risk, and people can be kittens in that regard. I was trying to be reasonable in my first attempt, and ultimately I got burned. I suppose 50s isn’t terrible, but from only 1 person kinda irritates me.
Ok, this is not a thread about the morality or ethics of selling/buying dungeons, or whether or not it is breaking the game, ruining the economy, or just unfair. So please if those things must be discussed, please do so in another thread. Thanks!
Now then. I did my first solo dungeon a couple of days ago. (SE P1). This was my first solo attempt, and I did manange to do it. Granted it took about 4 hours, as I wasn’t too familiar with some of the bosses attack patterns. In any case, I got to the final boss, and was worn out, tired, and just done. So I decided to try to sell it. I didn’t get kicked or anything. But I think my problem was not asking for a specific price. I just asked for reasonable donations in the LFG. I also took the precaution of getting screen shots of account names as soon as they joined. I also again asked for “donations” when each person joined. In the end, we killed the boss and I got 1 donation of 50s, and not so much of a “thank you” from anyone else.
So in the future, if I decide to do something like this again, what would be the best way to do it? What would be a fair price to set for the dungeon? And how do you ensure you are going to get paid, and not kicked?
Big fan of mounts, reduce the amount of WP add mounts. GW2 would have kept more players and brought new ones into the game if we had mounts.
Absolute rubbish.
Hardly, I will let the genre for the last 10years speak for itself.
Judging by the reaction to any mention of mounts on this forum, I would have to agree with uknortherner. There is no evidence, circumstantial or otherwise, that would point to a greater player retention, and new player growth. However, I will conceded that this is your opinion, and leave it at that.
As far as the genre and the last ten years, those games, in this same genre, had a system where mounts would work, and be an integral part of traversing the world. This game has an alternet system in place that makes having mounts irrelevant. This doesn’t make this game better, or the other games with mounts better, it’s just different. Waypoints, and not mounts, were the designers vision for this game, and they did an excellent job of brining that vision to life. Mounts weren’t exluded on accident. This was on purpose.
It depends on what you’re long term goals are. Some are more expensive than others to level (i.e. tailoring). If you are going for a legendary, you’ll need weapon smith, and a little bit in jeweler, iirc.
It also depends on which professions you play. If you want to craft for a heavy armored class, you’ll need armorsmith, and weaponsmith. For light, tailoring and artificer/weaponsmith, for medium, leatherworking and huntsman/weaponsmith. Also bags can be made with all the armor crafting professions, so you don’t need to go just with armorsmith just for the bags.
Yes, it’s sad. However it’s a much needed, and valuable gold sink. Without such a tax (or fee) gold would become almost worthless, as there would be far too much in-game.
“My suggestion:Take precursors off of trash mob loot tables. Take them out of afk-auto world bosses. Dramatically raise the odds of them dropping in actual content, so that players get to feel like they can do something about getting them, and they regain a bit of prestige factor.”
Define afk-auto world bosses? Doesn’t that mean almost every boss, with the exceptions of teq and triple wurm (and even thats debatable)
Actual content? Every part of the game is “actual content”. Dynamic events, random mobs, dungeons, world bosses, fractals, Personal and Living Story, Heart quests, etc…
Trash mobs? Almost every mob, up to and including champions, can be considered trash mobs…
I’m sorry I’m just not getting what you want…
