nothing in the tos about “dont leave your minionmancer afk with autoattack on num 4 where mobs spawn”
No, but you are linked up there to a post were one of anet’s staff said you would get actioned for exactly that.
I think it falls under exploits, which happen to be against the ToS.
It falls under unattended gameplay too. Also it should fall under ‘common sense not do’ but some players are that litigious I’m afraid, that they have to have every single possible contingency spoon fed to them.
I actually find that the Quip is the serious weapon and the H.O.P.E is the ‘joke’ one. One of them is an other-worldly imbued weapon, perhaps in the style of Lyssa. The other shoots pew pew lasers.
In other words, it’s all simply a matter of taste.
“End game” in Guild Wars 2 is open to interpretation.
You can get may answers and info about things like lore, how to join guilds and RP events at guildwars2roleplayers.com
You can create your own character bio there, read other player’s characters and swap ideas and meet new people to RP with.
There’s even a directory for different types of RP guilds you may wish to join, and everything is divided between Piken Square (EU) and Tarnished Coast (NA) servers, so you can find the right people whether you’re EU or NA
Thieves are meant to be one of the fastest classes (if not the fastest class). They also have the lowest health pool, Necro is the medium health pool I believe. Maybe something to take into consideration?
Never even noticed that weapon has any actual sound, just the ponies. Each to their own, and I guess you hang out with a lot more Dreamer lovers than me, but it’s never bothered me.
I still trust them, Humans, Asura Hharr and Norn can turn to dragon minions too, if you remember?
If you’ve already got an account, I’d say it’s worth a try at least downloading the Mac Beta, before doing parallels. There’s a Native Mac Client on the way at some point, though we’ve not heard any progress in a while, but they are working on it.
Chickens. So many chickens.
Or perhaps roosters this time of year?
What is this?
Im gonna pass on this outfit, tyvm Anet but im not going to get it in current form nor change gender to make it look decent.
I don’t think anyone, especially ArenaNet expected you to.
Iv’e been playing for about 3 weeks now and out of any MMO iv’e ever played it seems like GW2 has the lowest skilled players per the population, people who just generally don’t know how to maneuver properly, pull trains of mobs into people or just ignore quest objectives and die constantly.
Three weeks and you’re an expert I assume?
If you’re in a downscaled zone, your crit chance still drops since your precision is initially downscaled as well. You may wish to post more information about your problem rather than a drive-by whine about the mechanics.
It’s always worth doing, and not just for the rewards if you have the time, but so your character feels complete and go anywhere you choose.
They’d basically need twice the amount of servers they currently own or rent for this, for probably half as many people in each one.
I can dive into the water with a speargun, trident or a spear, and kill a deadly man-eating shark. Why would I want to stand still with a rod for the same thing?
cuz its different, its a variation of gathering
you might not like it but many people would
its just something chill extra to do
I may have needed to phrase my point properly:
Why would my character (not me as a player) who can dive under water indefinitely and has the power to take on sharks, multiple krait and waves of undead in the water want to dangle a rod over the side or in a hole?
What I mean is, ArenaNet don’t just implement things into the game for the sake of implementing them, there’s always some lore or back-story added to any type of addition to the game, from the Bazaar Festival (leading to Sanctum Sprint) to the story of HoT leading to the revenant and Guild Halls.
I don’t really think ArenaNet will want to add something just because players like it or because “other MMOs” have it. It has to make sense within the world around us. NPCs who’s story isn’t them being a warrior might fish, but not a hardened Pact Commander who has recently killed two elder dragons.
I can dive into the water with a speargun, trident or a spear, and kill a deadly man-eating shark. Why would I want to stand still with a rod for the same thing?
All I want is for group content to not be so heavily reliant on taxi-ing people into the megaservers.
And maybe a longer storyline than we had at the start.
The game’s still great in my opinion. If you have an account, just log in and try it. What do you have to lose?
I don’t believe that the OP is trying to declare that this is some kind of “universal truth”. I think that it’s generally understood that when people say something “should” besome way that it means that they think it would a good idea and something they want or like. I think it’s better to focus on the suggestion and not semantics.
That may very well be true in a lot of cases (in which they probably mean ‘could’), but when the OP capitalises the word ‘Should’ in their title, it’s harder to say the same here.
Afraid that I disagree with your, “should.”
Legendaries should have what they were described as having at the time you decided to make them. That does not include sigil swap. It might be nice to add the feature but that is different than, “should,” include.
Personally I would rather this feature not be added to legendary unless it is added to all weapons of exotic grade and higher.
Agreed – the word ‘should’ is one of the holy trinity of words that are used either too loosely or too often in these forums I think (the other two being ‘promised’ and ‘forced’).
Nothing ‘should’ be of a certain design. There are no specific universal rules in which any game is designed, other than perhaps it has to work.
Translation: “Waaaaah!! T.T”
I’ve got all the privateer collection. It took several months to get them all, but I enjoyed the journey it took. Remember that they never go up in price in number of tickets needed, which is why they are account bound in the first place.
This was actually the only reason why I managed to complete the collection at all. All the other skins there aren’t enough weeks before they go up in price for a new set to complete the collection (unless I want to use gold from TP which I don’t want to do).
Everyone feels differently about that collection, but I for one think that collection was a good idea. Not for every single collection, but maybe once a year have an account-bound, always 1 ticket collection. To me personally, for that collection to go TP-able now, would be an affront to my long term effort of getting them in the first place, and would feel less valuable to me than it does now.
I’d say she’d have to be at least in her thirties to be considered experienced enough a captain to have the trust and respect in the people who voted for her (lore wise that is, not player wise).
Why do i never get a reply from Cust Service?

Also if you send multiple tickets you get sent straight to the back of the queue.
If you’ve already got an account anyway, and already have the MBP, why not give it a shot? I don’t know 100% but there were a few teething problems for retina users in the beginning, but I think they’ve been ironed out.
Other than that, the Mac Beta is not very optimal for any Mac recently but can still be run by most users. A new native client is currently in the making though, so hopefully soon we’ll get a better, faster client.
The word ‘forced’ is used too much in these forums, we’re not forced into anything in this game.
For the cost it would take in gems compared to a Makeover Kit + Name Change Contract, you may as well buy a character expansion slot.
If you’re spending 5%-10% of your time selling on the TP, then I suggest get playing the game instead of farming.
I’d much rather RP it with another player, than have it pre-scripted by an NPC.
The problem here is that if the other player isn’t online at the same time, you can’t RP. With a Home Instanced sim, you can visit your wife and kids whenever you want. According to the core Guild Wars 2 philosophy by Colin himself, you should be able to play the game the way you want to in order to get rewards. And being married to my charr waifu is all the reward I want.
THat’s certainly one problem of having a player waifu instead of an NPC waifu. However, it’s pretty much the only one. With an NPC waifu, I wouldn’t be able to take her outside of Salma (or whichever home instance), I won’t be able to take her to pubs, on holiday, on mercenary jobs with me, play games, have arguments, make jokes, play tricks on each other, take our pet Pymgy Moa Korde out for walks together, go Trick or Treating, throw snowballs, light Canthan New Year fireworks, drink egg nog or play the “See Who Can Spit The Furthest From The Bridge” game in Lion’s Arch (my character Aria is currently leading 7 games to 4 on that one!).
tl;dr – I’d rather have some days of uncertainty of whether a player will be able to log in, and have infinite possibilities, than have guaranteed limited & pre-scripted romance.
I’d much rather RP it with another player, than have it pre-scripted by an NPC.
I’m yet to meet a player in-game that wants capes, yet weirdly it’s a regular topic on these forums!
So, infinite bank storage is what you’re asking for?

I’m trying to install it on my new MacBook Pro (first time Mac owner – was surprised to find that GW2’s Mac situation is like it is) and it’s continually wanting to redownload “tgupdate 1.12”, whatever that is. Every launch, the same thing. A real Mac client can’t come soon enough.
The TGUpdate is the TransGaming programme which acts as the cider wrapper to allow Guild Wars 2 to run on Mac. It too been updated a few times since 2012 (though not recently) so you’re most likely just getting the latest version one after another. There hasn’t been a TG update for quite some time, so once you get that final version if you haven’t already, you should see a stop to that.
That said though, a native client is still what we all want.
If you’re looking to start joining the RP community, I recommend joining guildwars2roleplayers.com – it’s a great place to start to find RP guilds that cater for how you want to RP your character (Criminal, Seraph, Mercenary etc.). It’s divided into Tarnished Coast/NA and Piken Square/EU RP guilds with character profiles and guild directors for recruiting.
Gaile is a brilliant member of ArenaNet and is really down to earth (or Tyria) in keeping us informed on the happenings of things. She’s great for public relations, I hope we never see the news of her leaving ArenaNet.
Yea with the way actual outfits work This would be theoretically possible (im not sure how easy, but in theory anet could do it), personally I think stuff like this would be a much better way to take advantage of outfits instead of more stuff that just looks like armor but isnt.
Also using an outfit for it instead of a tonic means that although you cant customize the clothes the new race is playing, you can customize the colors at least (could potentially use the dye channels for both the skin and armor of the race depending on what anet chooses)
Yeah exactly, although there would be no proper character customisation, the feather/fur/skin on the ‘outfits’ could be dyed. I still don’t know if it’s easy enough, but I imagine a lot easier than a new selectable playable race that in the past has already been ruled out (though a U-Turn on that can’t be ruled out either!).
Dunno if this is a good idea or a bad idea, but I’ll write it anyway and see what comes out.
There’s lately been a few posts about people wanting a playable race, which has a divided opinion on whether it’s easy to do or not. I personally think it’d be too difficult. I was on the side of those who want tonics where we can still use our weapons, but there’s still some animation work to be involved in that and so forth.
So I was thinking of another direction that might give players a chance to ‘sort of’ play a Tengu or a Largos or whatever, and have outfits as a way of doing it. The thinking of t was that instead of a whole piece, the arms of a tengu would be the gloves, the head the mask, the legs the pants etc. Sizes wise it would work great for human and Sylvari most of all, would be force looking for Norn and Charr, and cute little Tengu for those Asura wearing them. I guess it wouldn’t work for all races, but just an idea I had floating around last night.
its part of the game. it gives you something worth it to work towards.
No its not “part of the game”. its basic feature that every MMO has that anet has not made ‘part of the game’ unless you GRIND for it.
That’s not a correct statement. It’s also not relevant. Clearly, Anet felt it was a reward worth it’s position in the masteries. That is all that matters.
If you think it doesn’t matter that GW2 locks a common MMO option behind in-game grinding then you are fooling yourself.
I don’t know how that’s possible, since if it doesn’t matter to them, then it doesn’t bother them, so how can they be fooling themselves?
Then they should just disable it for free to play accounts.
It is disabled for free accounts already, and paid accounts without HoT. It’s one of the smaller incentives to buy HoT in the first place.
All you have to do in GW2 is press F to get your loot until you earn your masteries. Other MMOs you have to stand on top of it first, where there’s a risk you’ll miss some good loot you didn’t see needed picking up.
If GW2 including everything that every other MMO had, it wouldn’t be GW2 anymore.
I’m sad I can’t hold the balloons I made
Tyria exploration – mainly because if you want to get somewhere in PvE later on after levelling via other means, you could have done it anyway whilst levelling and gained XP. And karma and stuff too.
Possibly a related question, isn’t the reason why WvW player names hidden to stop griefing during fighting? And if so, how would it work in PvE if you can see names before hand?
Like I’ve seen some get banned for sending legendaries.
I’ve given away two legendary weapons in the past, and I’ve not been banned. I suspect this banning you’ve ‘seen’ (you’ll only have heard it from other players not ArenaNet themselves) had underlying causes i.e. they bought the gold for the legendary weapons via RMT.
Why isn’t there an option to begin a duel with someone in PVE?
Because from day 1 of Guild Wars 2 PvE was designed specifically with it being Co-Op mode only.

Woohoo! Not sure what to say!! I am excite! I would love (and can’t wait) to test it if I can!!
There is! The Snow Pile is a platform ledge decoration, but they can be used to make snow makers, which I don’t think is in that list on the wiki.
The snow pile doesn’t have snowballs. The snow maker makes it snow but again, no snowballs. If possible, I think the snowballs would be a good addition this year.
The snow maker gives you a snowball when you interact with it.
Agreed. The picture, albeit small and cropped, actually shows my Asura Spekka holding a snowball in her hands.
You can reach the HP by running up the hill just south of the HP (west of the waypoint), jumping on the roofs of the makeshift ship-houses. This is at any time of the day, no waiting for the World Boss.
