Hopefully now the forums won’t be full of the over-use of the words ‘broken promise’
Surprised nobody said this yet but….
Soon™
This would allow torment users to be more effective against stationary bosses in pve, simply by maintaining a debuff.
But less effective against moving bosses (as well as mobs). Swings and roundabouts really is it not? I think it’d be silly to have the same condition doing two opposite things over two different game modes.
I pronounce it as mer-REL-lo as well. If it is pronounced Merlot I’m going to have to have a rethink about my guild’s name!
Well, one of my thieves is a poison-based Condition Duration thief. She uses Viper’s gear (which apparently is good for Raids though I don’t do them myself) and she uses venoms, mostly spider venom and the daredevil trait line. She poisons on steal and has increased poison duration via [of Thorns] runes and traits too.
An enemy can receive unlimited stacks of poison, as long as it’s still alive. With venom share now being automatic, I can say that on a normal mob the enemy is dead before I’ve even finished stacking poison on it. A veteran or above has reached 26+ stacks in the past, depending on it’s health pool.
Not sure what OP’s gripe is. But I’d love to see a metallic version, much like Black Sail’s John Silver’s peg leg.
If the game still works, what difference does it make?
The difference being GW looks great and runs at a flat 60+, no issues. While GW2 won’t go above 40 no matter what kitten settings I pick. Whatever Anet did, they really kittened up their engine.
You’re comparing a 2012 game to a 2005 game though. One of which is more open world than the other as well. If they’re both on the same level playing field, no matter what is changed, one is going to perform better than the other no matter how many times you update whatever drivers or hardware you do.
40+ FPS is rubbish to you? Think about us Mac users for heaven’s sake!!

Forum bug.
If the game still works, what difference does it make?
WvW and PvP Guild Missions were a recent addition. Albeit not PvE missions, but was still developer time spent on them.
You can mouse over the name in chat to see the display name, at least for friends/party members/guild members.
This.
Also if they are not in your guild/party/friends list, you can right click and select Report to see their username (without actually reporting them!).
Personally I’d be more confused by OP’s suggestion, and it’d ruin the game for roleplayers if all you see is a screen name instead of a character name. Especially for RPers who have more than one RP character.
ArenaNet specifically designed PvE to be Anti-Competitive and Pro-Cooperative. So other than costume brawl, it won’t happen, sorry.
Sorry. Got a little more rude as it went on. Lol
I don’t understand how you realised this before you submitted your answer, and chose to enter it anyway.
Laurels were initially designed to be time gated, so I don’t think ArenaNet are going to change that. There are other ways of earning ascended gear, even trinkets. One example is what I did and I completed all the dungeon collection achievements.
Yeah I agree with Chad, you need to brush up on the lore yourself before actually questioning ArenaNet over it.
In any case, I can’t see this thread lasting too long.
Thank you very much hate to be banned for a bit of fun with emotes
OP, by the looks of it, you have chosen the first answer that you like as the ‘actual answer’ but if you believe it to be true and get caught using such scripts – you are going to get banned.
I know of one instance where a PvP player a couple of years back got banned for using a macro that spoke a phrase every time he killed a player. Small phrases such as “Die Noob” or “Owned” or whatever.
Auto-clickers for opening bags are also not allowed.
Short answer is no to any combination, since it’s already written somewhere that the races can’t interbreed in Tyria.
Just do less DPS.
For the price it’d probably cost, given the price combined of a name change contract + total makeover kit, you may as well just purchase a character expansion slot. It’d be a lot of rework for very little gain otherwise.
give us a reason to come back to the zones.
Erm, for fun? For entertainment?
If you’re playing this game for the loot, all you’re doing is the long way round of increasing a digital integer. Where’s the fun in that? Just keep pressing +1 on a calculator and you’ll get the same result.

I"ll be honest, most of our focus when it comes to the Mac is on the new Mac client, which is coming along! I will give this a try and write up a bug, but I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up for a timely fix, the timely fix may just be when the new client is finished.
If nothing else I will make sure this works in the new client, I get to start testing it soon™.
Taken from the thread:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/MAC-Client-Unable-to-access-GemStore
The non swearing environment on these forums (and the rules against it in the game) are there to protect younger players since this is a 12+ game, and also to keep a friendly environment for all players.
Try and learn to be a mature player.
When you said ‘Free Princess’ I was hoping you meant as a mini pet
“promised”
I really do think that people on the forums are using this term more loosely than ArenaNet actually do.
I agree to a certain extent, from a roleplayer’s point of view especially. However, one thing to take into account is that the playable character does a lot more fighting and goes on a lot more adventures across the magical world of Tyria than virtually all NPCs.
Macros are allowed for playing musical instruments. I don’t know if a macro is the same as a keyscript though, I imagine it is but I’m not really technical.
Two screenshots I created. First one is Me with two friends we posed for at the beginning of Guild Wars 2 (1325) and the second image is a comparison of how our characters have grown sometime during GW2’s third year (1328).
Here is a picture I took of myself and two friends on launch week, and again when it was the 3rd anniversary of GW2 (I think!). Comparing the changes from 1325 to 1328. I should contact them to make a new one for 1329 I guess!
Image says all
It doesn’t I’m afraid, can you elaborate?
I think the OP is suggesting that since he or she has 0/0 of all POIs, Vistas and Waypoints, then he or she has 100% Lion’s Arch mapped completely already upon visiting. So they want their transmutation charge and XP for it.
Edit: i.e. it’s a funny joke.
16,676 hours and zero.
Seriously? Over 11 hours per day, every single day since launch?
Wow!
Yeah, but I’m not actually complaining, as those 11 hours a day I’m actually having fun rather than counting ‘success’.
The biggest obstacle is how do they sort out resource nodes? If you could visit any and all megaservers they’d have to sort out not getting too many (if any) duplicates that if everyone guested to a guaranteed new shard, the economy would likely be affected.
But I agree that choosing which shard you go to instead of having to beg and grovel via whisper for a taxi would help many players, especially PvE and RP players. A system with a drop down menu that could show you how many of your friends are in each of the shards would make a big difference.
Why not just use tonics?
There are quite a few medium servers that currently cost 500 gems you can choose from.
This is still broken and apparently this is the only thread about it, also not listed on known issues tracker. 2 weeks later and this is still broken. Costing a lot of materials to keep up with.
It’s been going on at least 16 days as I made a post about this issue:
I’m seeing a lot of titles with the word ‘should’ in them lately. I think ‘would be better’ is more appropriate. We have shared inventory slots which I think is nice and convenient. But permanent tools that are automatically shared between character would be better.
Whether that ‘should’ happen or not, I doubt.
Bumping an old thread that is now irrelevant since the DPS golem in Aerodrome is now available isn’t usually a good idea.
16,676 hours and zero.
The idea of designing PvE from Day 1 of this game was so competitive play and co-operative play were separate.
It’d make sense if there wasn’t underwater combat implemented in this game, but since our characters can dive in and attack any fish they want with a harpoon gun with accuracy, why would they then want to sit on the edge of a lake dangling a rod waiting for something to bite?
Are you color sensitive / color blind?
Because I can understand that.
Main problem is burning vs bleeding, +- same icons with really differents DMG. In pvp is this fact deadly
But then if you change burning to orange, there’s a chance you’ll think it’s a boon!
Any form of subscription would be bad for a game that was marketed as a Buy to Play model.
My Assassin’s Daredevil is 65% when wielding his Staff and 72% when wielding his twin pistols.
Saying it’s ‘biased’ is a bit of an emotive way of putting it. But I would like to see shorts for men myself all the same.
I’ve been away on holiday to York for a week, so it’s a late reply I guess, but I’m sorry this happened to you Gaile, glad it got sorted though.
What’s worrying is if you place one, you’re at the mercy of not being DC’d. If you DC (which is out of our control) the banner will be gone, even if it’s been just 60 seconds.
Also, if I wanted to place a Heroes Banner outside a home instance for everyone to gather with bonuses, it will disappear the second I enter the instance.
I hope it gets fixed soon.
Didn’t this particular time-gated part of the story get addressed anyway, so you didn’t need the Tier 4 part for the next step?
Forum Bug is Buggy.
Can we downgrade these form “mastery” points to “casual” points? I thought the whole point was to have to work towards them and learn to master aspects of the game. Now they throw so many at you that you just get plopped in front of it is just not fun to get them anymore.
At least the raid mastery point additions took a few hours work to learn the fights.
A rose by any other name, smells as sweet.
Yes, when you ‘purchase’ it from the NPC it plays and the last you you purchased automatically becomes the anthem. Since a purchase is free, there isn’t really a need for a ‘preview’ just keep changing it at your own free will.
Also note that you need your guild rank to have the permissions to change the guild anthem.
