The one I got was to replace the one that didn’t work on a new toon
Aah! Thank you! Now I know who it’s for, it’s for an Elonan Dervish I made not so long ago – I’ve not tried using his Golem yet, if I had I would have known in the first place. Makes sense now!
Yeah, sorry to say but I’m with the others on this. You’re analogy is a bit biased, because if you’ve already decided that GW2 is ‘water’ and WoW is ‘brandy’ there’s no way your analogy can work any other way.
So in essence, there was no actual point to your analogy, all you’re asking is ‘What do you think it water and what do you think is brandy? I think WoW is brandy’
Personally, I like to think of Guild Wars 2 as a fine wine. It’s getting better with age.

It’s worth pointing out to anyone with any machine, not just Macs, that it is advisable to make sure you keep a good clear airway for your fans, and clean the filter every now and then, especially if you smoke near you computer. Fans in a computer are very much like a vacuum cleaner. They need to have air going in and air going out in order to work.

Ah I see. I still don’t think I’ve needed a replacement, but if it’s going out en masse, then I guess I’ve nothing to worry about. Thank you JustTrogdor

Hi,
Earlier today I received an in-game mail from ArenaNet giving me a ‘replacement’ item. The item appears to be a Golem Banker, but not a two week one. I don’t recall ever having an item missing, so I am wondering if it’s been sent to me by mistake, or if it’s being delivered as standard to many people. I don’t want to accept an item if it was meant to be for someone else!
Rather than pile on another ticket to CS, I’d rather first ask if many other players received this? If not then I suppose I can submit a ticket so CS are aware the intended player has not received their item.
Thank You.
This month (November) you had at least five you could complete in PvE and you only need four:
Monthly Completionist (4 Dailies)
Monthly Salvage Kits (500 Salvage)
Monthly Champion Slayer
Monthly Successful Events
Monthly Skillpoint Amasser
You can do any of these PvE monthlies without the Puzzle Jumper! What more do you need? xD
I myself roleplay as a Skritt from time to time. Nothing other than the Mystery Tonics that can be won via Black Lion Tickets or Artificer works. I’ve even tried the Mystery Tonics that have the same name, but turn you into trees and they don’t work either.
This is why I would love for the [Skritt Tonic] to be longer than 15 minutes. I think 1 hour is fair, considering the high cost of creating them via crafting.
As people have said before, right click and report people who are using abusive language against you.
The player who has threatened you is completely wrong if they think that the more people who report someone, the more likely you are to be banned. Don’t worry about it – if he got 150 guildies to report you, a human still looks into it, and treats it as if it’s just one report. If you’ve done no wrong, you’ve nothing to worry about.
As someone asked earlier, it could only look bad if you waited until the boss was nearly complete to kick the person. If you kicked them as soon as the verbal abuse took place, you have nothing to worry about.
Edit: Don’t forget to block them as soon as you’ve reported them too.
No thank you. PvP should stay in the PvP areas, as it did in the first Guild Wars.
We kind of have PvP in PvE anyway, through the use of Costume Brawl, which most of the time is fun without people being elitists and stuff.
He could have just been talking about a new interface for the GMs for all we know.
I have:
20 Characters.
18 Level 80.
4 are 100% Map Completed.
I’m leaving the other two non-level 80 characters not at 80 so I can use Tomes of Knowledge. I have no plans to have any more slots.
I’m currently working on mapping my fifth character, eventually I want them all 100% map. I worked on levelling them first.
We need to remember that whereas ‘stealing’ is generally a bad thing to do, killing is even worse!
People call assassins assassins but it doesn’t mean they’ll commit an unjustifiable homicide with their ‘assassin’ skills.
Same can be said about thief. If they are called a thief, doesn’t mean they will do unjustifiable theft.
The thief class is to describe it’s skills for combat purposes. It doesn’t mean that it’ll use those skills to rob houses or steal handbags.
The game calls it a thief. You can call it whatever you like.
Some people call the Ranger class a ‘hunter’
They’re kind of the same weapon though, aren’t they? I mean, it can be a Whip-class weapon, and the chain be one of the skins.
I’ve just whispered myself that code to see what you’re talking about. Don’t understand the rage, sounds like a Supermarket Loyalty Voucher to me.
Why make conspiracy theories about something that isn’t implemented?
Don’t feel sorry for the Skritt that you have to kill. They are the ‘bandits’ of the Skritt race.
Also, you can create a Skritt tonic by Mystic Forge using the following Ingredients:
2 x [Mystery Tonic] | 1 x [Slab of Red Meat] | 1 x [Tiny Claw]
You get 2 x [Skritt Tonic] then, each lasts 15 minutes, and you can use certain purchasable environmental weapons if you want to go out and fight with them. I do this sometimes myself.
I don’t wish to have Skritt a playable race, but I would like the tonic to last longer.
Why is there a limit I wonder? Maybe they thought no one in their right mind would have 64 different characters, thats 8 from each profession.
I suppose 80 would be optimum, so you’ve got a profession for every race and every gender possibility?
This maybe slightly off topic, but what’s with all the winking? I counted ten winks so far (including this one! —→)
But yeah, I have to say that I get told I’m an alt-a-holic for having 20 – but 64??? Are you serious this is not enough??
I’ve declared myself as reaching my limit, so instead of levelling characters, I’m now focusing on getting them all 100% map completion instead. I’m currently progressing Character No. 5.
Good luck though – maybe they will!
(<—- not including this one!)
Yeah the picture you’re including doesn’t include Dry Top & The Silverwastes there.
Re: End Game.
In my opinion, and many people may disagree with me on this, Guild Wars 2 has plenty of ‘End Game’ -
To me the ‘fore game’ is the personal story, i.e. the missions like GW1. Possibly map completion is ‘fore game’ as well. Renowned Hearts were meant to be treated like ‘traditional quests’ but I think a lot of people have forgotten this I think.
The end game for me is WvW / PvP / Living Story / Making Legendaries / Guild Missions / Dungeons / Fractals. I and many players also do Roleplay to give ourselves a bit of end-game too.
I think there’s plenty of end-game to choose from.
I’ve also noticed over the past two years, (and I’m not saying this about anyone in particular just a general observation), that it almost always seems to be people who farm or do ‘trains’ that tend to complain the most about lack of end game.
Obviously, only my opinion.
Glad it’s sorted then
Are you trying to sell them from your bank? If so, withdraw them first into your inventory, then you will be able to sell.
My Asura Guardian is Yont Karts.
It’s an anagram.
Nyto Rakts is my hero! :P
You must have known it was wrong in the first place. If the correct spelling is not allowed, how is a mis-spelling of the same offensive word going to be allowed?
The R-Word is a very nasty word to call people, so ArenaNet are not going to allow it at all.
I don’t have one myself, but I think it’s cute.
I think, though, it should be cute only when I want to hear it. I think it should be included in the ‘Player Instrument Volume’ option if it’s possible as I don’t want to hear it all the time.
I do think the item is a nice thing for players to have though.
Last week. ‘Sandy Fa Gina’ wondering around one of the maps. Had a good laugh over that name.
They will probably be forced to change that name soon if not already.
Which creatures in The Shiverpeaks are able to write each other letters?
Penipals…

To answer both your questions:
The ambients in this particular spot are more bunched together than ambients in other places, which is why I think people farm it there.
In places such as Godlost swamp or that diseased area of Bloodtide Coast, the ambients are spread over a greater area, and whilst I do neither Maize Balm farms or Weapon Master farming (I’m against farming as a general rule anyway) I’ve noticed these areas that are sometimes used do not have any arguments in /say chat.
Quite the opposite in Rata Sum. After I posted this log, I decided to take another look at the Rata Sum spot. And much to my surprise (/sarcasm), people were arguing again. I tried to recommend both parties to go separate ways (Maize Farm to Bloodtide & Weapon Master to Godlost) but both seemed adamant on staying where they were.
I suppose another idea would be to perhaps move the ones from appearing in Rata Sum to an area in an instance, so only party members could go there.
Revised Suggestion: Move the Ambient Creatures in Rata Sum to the home instance.
Original Post:
No prizes for guessing why. It basically boils down to two questions:
1) Am I more entitled to kill an ambient creature for my Weapon Master achievements than someone who is using Maize Balm against creatures to farm Halloween Bags?
Answer: No.
2) Am I more entitled to use Maize Balm against ambient creatures to farm Halloween Bags than someone who wants to kill ambient creatures to get the achievements for a certain Weapon Master?
Answer: No.
The only way it can be solved without ArenaNet taking sides is to remove the ambient creatures altogether, so both sides have to get their ambient creatures elsewhere. We need an environment where people are respectful of each other.

I suggest character name be broadened too, to include Inappropriate Guild Name/Tags and Inappropriate Pet Names. Maybe have a sub-drop menu where it starts as:
‘Inappropriate Naming’ >
then drops to a choice of:
‘Character Name’
‘Guild Name or Tag’
‘Pet Name’
At the moment, the suggested way to report guild names is to take a screen shot, and get a character name or username of someone in the guild so the GM can find the correct guild more easily, and submitting the potential violation as a ticket via support.
I don’t mind reporting inappropriate Guild Tags & Names via support (As CS knows I do this often!) but it does take a while for me to submit a ticket, open my e-mail, then reply to the auto mail with a screenshot.
I don’t think I have a single character with Bezerker stats, yet they are all still alive!
If you want mounts, there’s a great big huge one near [Maelstrom’s Waypoint] :p

I have to disagree with OP. Levelling still is fun for me. I have 20 characters and 18 of them are level 80, all except one I levelled by exploring maps, mostly the starter zones. I reckon if you’re looking to spend less than 100 hours getting to 80, then you’re looking to level too quickly.
Having said that, ArenaNet have provided this thing called a [Tome of Knowldege] which lets any character gain one level instantly. Also, every character on their birthday (both first and second currently) they are given a scroll which levels any character under level 20 to level 20. I am going to end up getting more of these than I can use, so I don’t understand why people complain about levelling being too slow, and I can’t understand what more players who do complain expect ArenaNet to do for them.
If you want a refund then you have to request it by submitting a ticket through the Support button at the top of the page.
However I highly recommend you calm down and not be so rude in the ticket if you want it resolving as this overly-flamboyant and dramatic way of expressing your concern won’t resolve anything.
Best of luck though.
There are sort of radio transmitters, in a way. One example of this is the Renowned Heart in Frostgorge Sound where you put on the Dredge mining suit and you can wirelessly contact the Renowned Heart vendor for instructions of where to go. There are probably a few more examples that I can’t think of as well.
I’d say lore wise they are probably still in beta testing before they become widely available throughout Tyria.
Why take the risk? I say no to macros whether they are allowed or not. If you can’t play a game without using macros (whether it’s Guild Wars 2 or Solitaire), you probably shouldn’t play the game!
NOT DOWN SCALING PLAYERS but UP SCALING ENEMIES.
How could that work when an upscaled enemy for a level 80 person is also being fought by a level 6 new character?
I am now level 28 and i do not feel like i am getting any better. I feel just as good at level 28 as i did at 6.. All enemies still take the same amount of hits to kill.
You are level 28 fighting a level 28 monster and it takes say, 7 hits to kill it. If you were level 18 fighting a level 28 monster, it would probably take about 20 hits to kill, providing you actually survived the fight. This is levelling, and if you don’t like the way the downscaling works, I’m sorry to say that perhaps Guild Wars 2 isn’t the game for you.
It’s a good system, it works against griefing and allows level 80 characters to still be able to fight wherever they want, without having to stick to level 80 zones.
(edited by penelopehannibal.8947)
Yes it’s still huge
Welcome to the wonderful world of Tyria!
Edit: Clans: You can make guilds, and name your guild a clan, for example ‘The Clan of Swords’ or something.
Just make it a real skritt. And has to have the phrases. Then my money is anets
A real skritt constantly stuck to someone’s back might be a bit cruel though, running past all the shines, and the skritt not being able to grab them :p
This missing single POI is almost always the Order of Whisper’s HQ. Go to the Deadend Waypoint in Bloodtide Coast, and go through the portal and you’ll get to the Chantry of Secrets.
Edit Silly me, you have this already! >.<
Other new POIs, such as where the Aetherblade Jumping Puzzle is in Gendarran Fields could be the one you’re looking for!
If you’re asking why ‘Mad King Thorn’ appears in Lion’s Arch instead of in Divinity’s Reach that’s because Mad King Thorn used to be an actual King of Kryta when Lion’s Arch was the capital of Kryta, so that’s where he appears Lore-wise.
Divinity’s Reach has got attention more than the other cities since release, such as:
Re-construction of The Great Collapse
Crown Pavilion
Queen Jennah’s 10 year Jubilee
Scarlet introducing herself in Divinity’s Reach with the clockwork madness thingie.
If anything, the other 4 racial cities are neglected in comparison.
I think festivals are right to be held in Lion’s Arch, such as Dragonbash, Wintersday & Halloween, so they are racially neutral festivals. I would however, like to see one thing a year for each of the racial cities.
Examples could be:
An annual celebration of Queen Jennah’s coronation for Divninty’s Reach (July I think it was)
Super Adventure Box for Rata Sum. (Perhaps every April when it was first introduced)
Celebration of the awakening of the Sylvari in The Grove.
Celebration of the victory in Ascalon for The Black Citadel.
An annual Great Moot for Hoelbrak.
I’m against mounts.
BUT
People who are sick of seeing mount topics still reply to them, thus bumping them, making them last longer. :p
Just like we have various Charr & Quaggan plush backpacks, I recommend a Skritt one be created for the Gem Store. I’m very sure it would be a popular skin to have, and perhaps even one like the Job-O-Tron backpack, where the Skritt might come out with Skritt phrases like “You smell something?” or “Shinies!”
I would definitely buy this, with or without the phrases!
OP: What you’re basically asking for is to be level 80 and be able to kill an enemy in a level 6 zone before someone who is level 6 can kill them, making it more difficult for people levelling their characters since we share the maps with other players. This is why there is down-scaling, so Level 80s cannot wipe out mobs before a level 3 player can even get close to them.
Edit: If anything, downscaling should be made harder for Level 80s in starter zones in my opinion!
(edited by penelopehannibal.8947)
-.- For a moment there, I saw the title and I thought there was going to be a CDI on a Skritt playable race for some reason, and got excited….
Guess I’ll still be using the trusty 15 minute Skritt Tonics to RP my Skritt
To me personally, Roleplaying is about giving your character a bit of history, that doesn’t include the Personal Story. You can be a barber, a bartender, a mercenary for hire, a banker, a minister, a tribune, a Seraph, a Lionguard, a Warden, and so on.
For me also, it gives me a little extra end game. My guild in particular (Piken Square mainly guild) does RP events 3 times a week, hunting down certain bounties (ones that are not Guild Bounty, such as Champion Trolls, or Separatist Leaders, or Flame Legion Tribunes etc) that are out in the open world, but we create a story around it, a sort of adventure within an adventure.
OP: Where is your source telling you this was the reason for this ban?
I highly doubt this was the reason. The person who got banned may have been banned for something else they did days ago, and it only kicked in whilst they were doing their farm.
Is there any chance you can stop the nudeness of your character please? It’s rather unsettling and not funny anymore. Thanks.
