Sounds like phishing to me – just make sure that the password for your e-mail address is different to the password for your Guild Wars 2 game, and if you have email authentication active as well, you’re pretty much safe. Ignore the emails asking for you to change your password.

Actually, that pic is fine.

It shows who was there, but there’s no accusations made in that pic or the post that goes with it. It simply confirms that there was a person playing an instrument there, the bears were okay with it, and a person from ANet asked them to move.

That’s all it shows, and it’s quite within forum guidelines.

So after several months of not hearing from him (I only assume he got a warning or a ban) I heard those words again:

“Is there one girl here from Sweden”

Same username, but I think it’s now capitalised G instead of a small g at the front of his name, though I can’t remember. After knowing from more than one source that the previous guy was simply using the game as a front to solicit in cyber, has anyone else seen or heard from him at all?

I am very worried after seeing him ask this ‘immortal’ question earlier today in Caledon Forest that it’s the same person up to his old tricks again.

(Please do not break the rules of the forum by posting his actual name or screenshots of conversations – a simple rough explanation of what you experienced will suffice)

I don’t think there’s a need for any new class because the eight we already have cover pretty much any new class you can think of if you play one of them in a certain way.

For instance, if you want a ritualist, you can run a ranger with a full spirit build, and have those spirits move etc. Alternatively, run a Guardian with all spirit weapons.

Hopefully this will be a lesson to everyone who verbally abused people in chat.

(Although after the Queensdale Champ train, the second lesson learned, and probably won’t be the last).

On the contrary to what some people believe, the Megaservers aren’t really harming Roleplaying as much. In fact if anything (on Piken Square at least) they’ve helped because I’m seeing more and more Roleplaying out in the open world, and that’s nice and refreshing.

I co-run a mostly RP guild on Piken Square, where we do missions at set-times in PvE areas, in areas of any level, and a lot of the time, we’ve walked past other guild RP too (even some RP in other languages – which is good).

If you are playing from NA on an EU server, the chances are, you’ll noticed little to no lag difference at all.

I’ve always said that Piken Square is the friendliest and most welcome server you will find, so if you decide to come to Piken Square, you will be most welcome indeed.

My suggestion is more about to solving the verbal abuse than trying to stop people farming. It’s easy to say “If people verbally abuse you, just right click & report” but the point is people shouldn’t be verbally abusing in the first place.

I recommend changing the event “Secure Shelter’s Gate before the Risen arrive” from a ‘Re-Capture’ Event to a ‘Risen Morale’ percentage event.

I don’t think I need to explain why.

It’s happening for a lot of people.

I’m on Piken Square, and it happens in Fields of Ruin for me and many others in same megaserver. I went to Queensdale, no lag spikes at all, even during Behemoth when people flocked for that. I came back to Fields of Ruin, lag spikes happening again.

To be honest on Piken Square at least, the megaservers aren’t really as much as a problem now as they were when they first came out. When I host our guild’s RP Bounty Missions there’s only been two occasions where one of us has ended up stranded on another megaserver, which was quickly resolved by partying up.

The issue of people grieving has always been there, even before the megaservers. My guild has been grieved once, but the best way to deal with grievers is to show them you’re more mature than they are by simply blocking and ignoring them. They’re only hurting themselves (and if they’re representing, their guild too) in the long run.

Of course, I’m only talking about what I know from my experiences, but also, in Piken Square map chat, megaservers & RP are hardly ever talked about, and as a lot of people on Piken know, I spend a lot of time on this game!

If you want to overcome the megaserver problem, my advice it to friend up and guild up with as many roleplayers as possible. The best way to deal with grievers is to friend up with as many roleplayers as possible too, and bring your respective communities closer together

The money will first have to be pooled together as it has come from quite a few different sources. Then, approved budgets have to be finalised for each section of Lion’s Arch to be rebuilt. Then, decisions have to be made whether to re-build some of the buildings, or to make new ones by the Board of Trustees and the Captain’s Council of Lion’s Arch.

Then, once decisions are made, the town planning has to be designed and approved by the councils, which is usually done by several designs being proposed in front of the Captain’s Council. Then the building process can begin once majority voting has been done. So, it’ll take some time for Lion’s Arch to be re-built.

I didn’t report you, but I would have if I saw that. I once saw a guy norn whose name was a reference to the falling of the Twin Towers – and his guild name too. I reported him, he then changed it to something similar and I re-reported him. Not everyone finds that kind of thing funny, which is why they have the naming policy.

Try guesting a different server to get you out. That worked for me when the Mount Maelstrom one happened.

What? You can play it anytime, at no cost, as long as you unlock it during the active ‘free unlock’ time period. If you fail to unlock it during the Release’s active time, you can then purchase the Episode for 200 Gems.

Thus, there isn’t a time you can ‘never get it’.

Also gems do not necessarily have to cost £/$/€. You can convert in-game gold too.

Just guest a different server (Jade Sea worked for me) and you can play again – and your real map completion comes back too.

I guested Jade Sea [FR] and it solved the issue and got 100% Map Completion back.

Same here. Hopefully will be fixed as a patch is coming very soon anyway. I am concerned about one thing though and that my 100% Map Completion on my main character seems to have been wiped.

I’m fairly sure they do look at them, but if you’re talking about In-Game reports, don’t look for them to respond to each individual report that is sent to them for obvious reasons.

  • Guild Tag (Unfortunately, we can’t review tags without the guild name OR a character or display name of a member)

I hope that clarifies the matter. I will ask our agents to be sure they are making a distinction between the report of a guild name and a character name, and that they handle guild name or tag reports directly from the ticket but only ask those making character name reports to use the in-game report system.

Thanks for making me aware of this and allowing me to explain in greater detail, and thanks, too, for making those reports — they really help make the game a better place for everyone!

A few weeks ago I posted a topic about how to report inappropriate guild names & tags, and was given sound advice. However, since then I followed the advice when I spotted a new guild tag with an inappropriate tag. I submitted a ticket, posted a screenshot, I gave a username as was advised, but the reply I get back is:

“If you would like to report a violation in the future – from inappropriate in-game behavior to mailbox spam – the fastest and easiest means to do so is to use the in-game reporting system. In-game reports are sent directly to our team, and they allow us to take care of issues very promptly. Here is how you can submit an in-game report:”

So it’s left me confused when the left hand is telling me to do one thing, and the right hand is telling me to do another.

I think the easiest way to deal with this is to simply include a Right-Click option for Guild Names/Tags.

Since there is also an achievement for it the post makes sense to me. I’m close to the 5th one and I get the same AP as someone who made one twice and I also don’t get a title for it.

That makes no sense to me since I invested more time, more gold, mats and what not to get those. So please buff the original achievement and give it also a shiny title.

If someone has done at least 1 event in the dungeon they shouldn’t be kicked. If they’ve not got any medals then perhaps that warrants a kick, other than that, kicking shouldn’t be allowed, especially near the end.

BUT – if they do it, put it down to experience – the people who do regularly kick people from dungeons are only giving themselves a bad reputation (and possibly their guild too) so if they want to constantly troll or grieve, let them – they will only hurt themselves in the long run. I’ve seen a couple of guilds on Piken Square that are talked about (not by myself) because of this elitist behaviour, and those guilds are shrinking.

In short: Try not to let them bother you – you are a better player than they are because you’re not a sore loser – they are!

To be honest I think this is better because being able to do damage and still hide would not be a good thing.

I’ve used the ‘Hidden Thief’ trait coupled with ‘Thrill of the Crime’ ever since launch, and always had power set to 0 so when I use steal, I stealth and get the ‘Thrill of the Crime’ so I can run around the place whilst stealing and steal thing. Dealing damage (and the poison that the first minor trait gives when stealing) would slow me down as I’d be ‘In-combat’ when I don’t want to be.

So, yeah, I think still being in stealth shouldn’t be allowed when doing any damage personally, but other people’s opinions are by no means invalid as it’s a good debate, but it’s overall a balancing act for ArenaNet to do, and if they intended for it to be like this, then so be it.

*Edit: In short – we shouldn’t have the best of both worlds :p

To be honest, people should not be swearing on the forums in my opinion, even if the word gets censored to ‘baby cat’. Swearing is a very rude thing to do, especially on the official forums, and the fact that it gets censored shouldn’t be an excuse since the intent is still visible.

Some of the ways people speak on this forum disgusts me, they speak to ArenaNet and other players in a rude manner, yet wouldn’t speak like that in a job interview or to their boss, or to their teacher.

Life’s too short to worry about it. It’s one champ after all.
