I dunno, I kinda use my warrior as a support role during events. I switch almost all my slots to banners and throw down:)
I got bored with buying dyes once I got black and a couple celestials…I was buying the gathering tools but I don’t gather much anymore, so yeah I am kinda saving them now but not for anything specifically.
Not me, there’s plenty of LS content that I’ve skipped since I hate dungeons…I didn’t do the JP last month and only played 1 game of Southsun Survival before I realized it wasn’t my cup of tea. Honestly that’s why I like the LS stuff so much, if I don’t like what’s happening now there’ll be something different in a couple of weeks:)
I tried it twice last night since I couldn’t even find where I was supposed to go for it in the short time I had to play on Tuesday night, so one complaint is that it’s way too far away from everything else and hard to find.
The other is that camera sucks, it killed me the second time. I didn’t play around with it much after that because the only option I had was to fight the same guy for a 3rd time, which seemed silly since that didn’t really get me anywhere the first time I beat him, so I just went back to farming the legendaries. Maybe I’ll try to figure out how to play a different opponent tonight…
So yeah once again maybe there could be better instructions rather than me clicking on the name of a fighter, the dialog box disappearing and nothing happening?

Yeah the second time I tried it my camera got all screwed up and I got like 2 shotted so I’ve given up on it for the time being hoping it’ll be fixed.
A lot of the increased traffic for the Queensdale champs this week is people getting their Homeland Support or whatever ach for Kiel.
There are like 5 people playing right now, its very hard to do a dungeon.
Yeah and I don’t think I’ve made more than $10 or so in the last month from it, so it’s not very rewarding either:(
People don’t want to fail. That’s why nobody does Balthazar.
Nobody wants to waste time on an event that has a very good chance of failing when they can actually be doing something fun is what you mean, right?
Initially I wasn’t thrilled about the idea of another festival, but our team took that as a challenge to implement a festival that plays much differently than the others. I think we accomplished that.
Ok I can dig that and give it a chance:)
Yeah I’m going to have to agree, the festivals/festival type things are getting a bit annoying and only seem to be tangentially related to what’s going on in the LS. The mini games are ok but most of them don’t play very well on the game engine; none of them are anything I’ve wanted to do beyond getting the achievements for them, if that.
More story, fewer minigames please!
Come on over to Gate of Madness! We’ve got lots of PvE people and have been steadily climbing in the WvW rankings for months now:)
This includes the new mini games they add where you have no tutorial or explanation of the skills. There’s a few very vague bullet points when you start up but then you’re tossed in the middle of chaos confused on what exactly to do while you’re getting your kitten kicked.
This is something I was thinking last night when I started playing the thingy that Kiel has going. Three or four bullet points that barely explain anything don’t help much, so things tend to be frustrating for first time players, especially when they log on at 9 eastern and there have been people playing it for hours already. Dragonball had the same issue.
I ended the night a couple hours later and hadn’t managed to find the baskets where I’m supposed to put the support tokens…
Ah I see…I don’t play dungeons or fractals so I wasn’t aware of that. Carry on!
OH NOEZ ANET ARE LYERZ!!
Seriously people…minor inconvenience for a few hours. It’s build day…you don’t expect some down time? People complain about the oddest things sometimes.
This is the first time it’s happened, if people have spent a good amount of time in something only to be kicked out in the end they have the right to be annoyed.
I guess you’re new then? Every time I’m on for a patch or update it says the game will restart in 1-2 or 2-3 hours and then the reset usually happens within a half hour or less.
Or did that not happen with fractals/dungeons previously?
One set of skins isn’t going to tank the economy, the SAB skins didn’t for example.
Yeah I don’t do fractals or dungeons at all but I do wp around all over the place, so reduced wp costs are really the only thing that grabs me at all in this new content.
Yep I play solo 99% of the time, more like 100% now that the rest of my guild has quit. First off I don’t really like other people and second I generally play more slowly than most people, I’ll stop to smoke a cig or get another beer pretty frequently, and I don’t like to slow people down.
Thank you for the kite, a.net, it’s cool!
OP, don’t worry, if you bought gems in the last couple weeks I’m sure you’ll get something next time around:)
I’m voting for Kiel: The only thing anyone is offering that I’m interested in is the reduced waypoint costs.
Well they gave the mini’s to people who bought from launch until April 1st, then the kite to people who bought between April 1st and July 1st. I’d be patient if I were you, it looks like they’ll be giving something to people who bought from July 1st – sometime in the future.
No they did add bandwidth and servers I believe. The cap for # of people in a zone is higher than it was before.
I’m not letting anyone win! I think it’s stupid to let people win. How proud can you be with your title if someone just gave it to you.
It’s a video game, titles in it don’t make me proud whether I get them honestly or not because it’s a video game.
On that note, it’s your prerogative and if the person who let me win last night hadn’t I would never have thought that he/she deserved to be cursed out.
Thirding, a real nice person who already got the title stopped right at the finish line in a 3 person race last night so I could get first.
Thank you!
just the logical fallacies associated with people asking for bans and/or using a store IRL analogy to make a point really grinds my gears, wethospu.
It was an accurate analogy that basically just pointed out that if you commit the crime, then you shouldn’t be putting the blame on someone else. Especially when the reason can’t be justified by a reasonable reason (like being forced to commit a crime while having a gun pointed to your head).
If you think it’s fine to make hundreds of gold through exploits in the game just cause it’s “a game” with no consequences at all. Then I’m going to assume you’re one of those that exploited and basically just trying to justify it with nonsense.
Nope, it’s just a game and you should probably take it much less seriously.
Thanks for the food advice whoever that was!
Huh, never had that happen to me. I guess that’s another explanation, though rare I’d imagine.
Been playing since November, haven’t bought a single extra bank or inventory slot…do wish they would make stacks bigger than 250 but I can understand why they don’t so eh, whatever.
Shatterer is always on time on GoM, at least the once per day I do it he is and I never see his time in the red unless there’s been a server reset. There’s no blocking event for him, all the events in that area can be hanging for hours and he’ll still go off.
I see Fire Ele run behind by a couple minutes sometimes, but I think that’s because of an event in one of the 4 chambers spawning and nobody noticing.
I don’t think the individual zones reset, at least I’ve never run across anything that indicates a zone has reset while the rest of the server hasn’t.
From the way they describe it, it seems like they mean there’s going to be rail driven movement in this new race thing they’re putting in.
I generally like the jp’s but the mini dungeon’s I’ve done aren’t enjoyable so I’m pretty much skipping all of this round of achievements…good thing they’re really not worth anything:)
I’m happy that I have an option other than breaking down 500 items this month, personally. 60 champs will take me a week or two so that’ll be just fine. If you’re doing that in like 12 hours straight then perhaps you should go outside and get some fresh air for a bit.
That’s what players wanted. Content that can’t just be done by everyone.
Not me for sure. Even if i start to sound like a socialist/communist, I’d prefer content doable by all players then this crap
Nothing wrong with sounding like a communist, it means you possess something rare in this day in age: actual empathy.
No, I don’t care what I or others look like really…at high resolution everything but Norns are pretty much too small to see real well without zooming in a lot anyhow.
Though I ended up making my necro look really cool, that was more by accident than design though. Also she’s a gigantic Norn so you can actually see her stuff.

It seems that for once the Claw’s scaling is perfect, not just a minute kill. Actually a fight where you are in danger, even though the event can’t be lost really.
I would be extremely sad if this gets nerfed again… not much difficult content for people who are looking for a challenge in the game, and too much carebear-events.
When I mentioned in the mapchat that all the people who are downed are probably zerger-builds one guy replied: “it isn’t my fault that the game trained me to play like this”. So much truth.
This fight was never a ‘minute kill’ to begin with, especially since they made the frost line higher…troll much?
You’re exactly right…I’m not worried about any achievements from this part of the LS myself, though I’m going to give the new JP a go when that drops.
Why do so many people cry like 7 year old kids wanting a toy?
Because it’s the internet.
Perhaps sounds a bit self-centered, but in truth, this is a game I play at the end of the day to relax.
Exactly. The 5 man content isn’t any fun, it’s just grind anyhow, so I just skip dungeons as a rule in this game.
Was that event ever actually worthwhile? I do it sometimes just because it’s there, but… meh. That time spent slaughtering mobs elsewhere would probably land me ahead on anything but karma.
It was fun for the first couple months I did it but I stopped doing it in like Jan or Feb unless I happened to be in Frostgorge when he spawned or if someone said he was on phase 2 after another meta ended. Making it last like 40 minutes is just another reason to stay away.
OP, that’s exactly the way I feel about all the dungeons in the game.
Oh ok don’t care then personally…though I do want to get that JP at some point. Hopefully GoM is still winning the matchup lol…
Do the caches actually contain anything useful/valuable or is it just for the ach point? If it’s just for the ach point, I care not, if they have useful/valuable stuff then that does kinda suck.
I made it past the halfway boss in the MF dungeon with my mesmer so I’m going to give it a whack anyhow.
Not a single player instance, though I’ll give it a try, but I doubt I’ll be reaching the bosses inside.
Yay on AOE looting and Mistfire buff! Gonna be interesting changing around traits for 3 level 80’s and the warrior that I’m in the middle of leveling.
Seriously…we’ve gotten various things over the Living Story but not really any reward for basically doing Kiel’s job for her for months straight…
I think dungeons are really unfun and the living story stuff is really fun. I skip the stuff that’s grindy like lighting all the effigies.
Which dungeons though? Normal ones or the LS ones?
F&F dungeon is still the best, and the SoSC ones being worst, at least IMO.
All the dungeons I’ve done since I’ve started. Molten Facility was decent…I was almost able to solo it until the mobs started wandering away from me back into that chill field thing and regenning when I was still hitting them. That’s a general AI issue in the game though, so I can’t blame the dungeon on that. So yeah, never finished that one so I can’t say for sure how the second half of it went.

ANet is trying to cater to players who say they want harder content. Pity that demographic does not seem to be actually using the content that was supposedly developed for them.
I fear the game has at least its fair share of difficulty trolls. People showing up claiming that something is laughably easy, but that has never tried it. This simply to try goad the company into upping the difficulty to insane levels.
Wouldn’t be surprised…99% or so of the Diablo 3 community were difficulty trolls before release and as a consequence the later levels were more Dark Souls and less Diablo for quite a while.
If you’re in a group doing a DE and trying to tag a bunch of mobs, you either want to use AOE’s or a fast casting attack power, that’s always the best strategy in this game.
