Not sure exactly if ND is in Central or Mountain, but it looks like they run from Noon Eastern on Friday to noon Eastern on Monday, every 2 hours.
I started right around the beginning of Wintersday and I always miss random boxes laying around waiting to kill me, so this is gonna be fun:)
Camp Karka is contested about half the time I try to use it to get there.
It sometimes still fails though. I didn’t get the Claw of Jormag chest (either of them) on a character tonight, even though I hadn’t completed that event since last night (well before the daily changeover), and had completed the even every previous night on the same character, and had been a part of the event since halfway through the wall breaking phase.
That’s weird, I got to Jormag when he had like 1/8th of a health bar last night…helped take out a couple ice pillars and champ’s, hit him like 3 times after the golem bombs, got a bronze and both chests.
TL;DR : OP played the same game 2000 hours in 10 months. That is an average of 6.57 hours a day. So OP is tired of the game.

Was just about to say this basically. I want Super Mario Bro’s/Duck Hunt to be as awesome as it was when I first played it in 1988 or whatever year it was, but that’s never going to happen, and no dev’s have done anything to it in the ensuing decades.
Yeah the only effective 2 weapon fighting styles are light weapons, you’re never going to see an effective sword/mace wielder in real life because that will never be as effective as someone with a sword/shield or 2 daggers.
Then again we are heroes of the land so I can’t really argue that it’d be cool to see more variety with this.
Hell, even the Poconos has a nice gambling strip now.

I had no problems with lag the other day when Camp Karka actually wasn’t contested and I managed to get there. Saw eggs and threw ’em at her and everything.
Then I got one blue and one karka shell from the chest. Yeah I got 2 rares, but the big chest sucks and is not worth it at all considering I usually have a 50/50% chance of pulling at least one rare from the big chest on any other meta boss.
I think this guy is making a point that the event is bugged on a number of servers and a.net hasn’t acknowledged it yet.
I don’t have a main, I’m on my 3rd alt and will be starting my 4th within the month or so. I don’t get attached to video game characters because they’re characters in video games.
For an MMO to be successful , they should give you a reason to keep logging in . I too have made many alts but have deleted them in the past . Also , people who are attached to their characters are more likely to spend money in the cash shop ( Gem store . ) Take a look at WoW , people that play that game will never leave it for a new and shiny game because the players are attached to their characters .

Yeah that’s why I don’t generally play MMO’s, because I can’t get attached to a bunch of pixels in a video game. Guild Wars is different in that it’s actually fun to play…well that and I can play it without interacting with people…

Yeah I hate to say “I can safely go back to ignoring Southsun like I did before” but that’s kinda the way I feel. I think I have enough t6 mats saved up to fully level my last 2 crafting professions, with no Instigator events anymore and the only events being “Kill a BILLION karka” and the Queen event being basically broken, there’s really no good reason to go there again…
It’s hard to say, they interviewed the story people in the video they just released but none of the actual software dev team as far as I could tell. In any case, if those are the concerns that drive your story rather than good storytelling, you’re doing it wrong.
I think they’re using it to address the complaints of people buying $100’s worth of RNG boxes and not getting a ticket. Seems to me like the gem store ones will have a 100% guarantee and the drops will have a much smaller chance.
Any of Techenon’s ideas would be easier, quicker to execute and a lot less shady looking than what she actually did though.

Yeah the Charrzookas don’t do anything during the fight, user the flamethrowers or your powers to kill the ice columns and/or use your body to suck damage that the golems would take otherwise.
Yeah the bigger software gets the buggier it is. That said, the test server for Diablo 3 really made for a solid release whenever they did an update, because the bugs were mostly tested out by a big chunk of the player base.
Unfortunately they don’t test for fun in that game…
Actually even with that test-server Diablo 3 had quite a few issues coming into the live-servers.
I never ran into any bugs while I was playing it, personally.
Canach blew up the ship, not Kiel. Kiel just didn’t stop him from doing it because it was a way to destroy the contracts without her having to be directly responsible.
Yeah tried it again last night…got into Southsun while the Queen was spawned. All the WP’s except for Kiel’s were contested. I ran over to Driftglass, saw the mob of Karka in the camp and ported back to AC to do whatever other meta was spawning soon. LAME.

Right and as the hours move on then people from further west get out of work they start to log on too. If I was only thinking from my perspective, I wouldn’t have noted 5-6 o’clock East Coast I would have just said 5-6 o’clock and expected everyone to know what I meant.
When I did it last night all of the wp’s on the western side of the map were contested, I had to spawn at Kiel’s. There’s no edge to skirt in the town, at least not the time I tried it, it was literally full side to side with karka.
Yeah that’s extremely silly, no idea why they thought it’d be a great idea to block access to even fight the Queen.
Yeah that would have been awesome, I don’t like the weapon skins and would have gladly sold the ticket I got for a bunch ’o gold.
Nerf the drop rate of BL keys? I haven’t had a key drop in months and buying them from the cash shop is stupid because the boxes invariably contain garbage. Put better stuff in the boxes and you might see me buy a key, but as of now I’m better off shoving a dollar in quarters up my nose than buying a BL key with the same money, at least my friends would get entertainment out of laughing at the quarters stuck in my nose as they drive me to the ER.

This exactly. Even when she’s like “Ooohhh no the contracts are destroyed who could have EVER foreseen this event?” she’s sarcastic as hell.
I haven’t had the chance to even make it to her since the freaking camp was infested in the defense event with karka and have subsequently been slain every single time making the run back causing me to miss the fight. I don;t mind a challenge but to wade through one shot bs from a multitude of level 84 enemies is not my idea of fun remotelty.
Exactly this…a whole load of mobs spawned directly on top of all of us who were inside the camp and we died. We rezzed at Kiel’s, ran back and half of us died and then we pretty much all died again. Finally there seemed to be enough space and I squeezed through the 30ish mobs that were left and ran out just in time to get enough of hits in on the Queen to get credit for the event.
There at least needs to be a visible timer when you hold all 4 camps so you know when she’ll spawn. Also there should not be a billion mob spawns in the camp for no reason whatsoever. Two rares, a blue and a half dozen karka shells were not enough of a reward for doing this frustrating event.
I miss the time for boss mechanism where you needed to use your brain or cooperation with others. I believe the whole game is way too easy, just insta kill everyone when they are not dodging from a red circle, let a monster attack and that you need to run and jump.. combine lvls with death pits and jumping and a boss!
But for now, no too easy for me.
Stand inside the camp at Steamboat Springs when she spawns and tell me how easy it is to beat the dozens of karka and reef riders that spawn directly on top of you.
I love it, half the people complain that the Living Story sucks and the other half complain that it goes away after it’s over.

OP: If you want to take all the fun and challenge out if it by going akitten and autoattacking, that’s your decision. You’re not doing a good job of taking down the settlers if you’re just autoattacking the Instigator, so you’re missing out on lots of chances for wood and steel chest drops. Good job, you’re not even doing it right.
You compare Ghouls ‘n Ghosts to an MMO? MMO’s have never been as challenging as G’nG, if they were they’d never make any money. You’re looking in the wrong genre for challenging games, there are plenty of them out there though.

I was getting fangs and bloods last night in my like 3 hours of playtime…I think they specifically don’t like you and have nerfed your drops, LoneWolfie.1852.
Considering you have a VERY small chance of getting the T6 mats, as shown by the drop rate page, you certainly CAN have very bad luck with the drops. The RNG is working fine, seriously, 8g is around what I’ve always gotten doing ~300 boxes. That’s why I never do less than 100 boxes, any less than that and you’ve got a real low chance of actually hitting T6 mats.
Your experience stealing stuff in WoW has no bearing on the RNG in this game.

I opened 300 boxes last night post patch and got an 8g return. Considering karma is completely worthless otherwise, I consider this a good investment. Was kinda disappointed I didn’t get more lodestones but I did get 3 mini Balth Priests…yay?

Loot has been reduced everywhere to get more players into southsun cove where everything is “normal”.depends what you call normal… if you like porous bones, stained tusks and the odd salvageable hide.. if your lucky a white or blue drop from trash mobs.. last week or so its been terrible and I am normally not bothered by loot drops at all as I don’t really farm much unless I have a need for something specific… lately loot drops have gotten really bad.
Also something I too have begun to notice…. I forge down every single green item I get nowadays.. I am talking hundreds a week now seeing as Southsun has proven fruitful until recently in getting greens (crabtoss is an easy win, as are the champ chests) .. I can count the number of rare items I have managed to RNG out of the toilet on one hand over the last week, which isn’t a great success rate, especially when added to the mysterious salvo issue with ectos over the top of it…. but RNG is RNG so I guess its dust of and keep trying time… thankfully I don’t see anything in GW2 that is “must have it now” , so I can wait it out a whiles longer… maybe!Southsun drops are the same as they were last week and the week before for me. If you’re putting greens in the MT expecting to get yellows, well, that’s always been a losing proposition and you’re better off just selling the greens.
Don’t talk silliness… its always been a good way to get Ecto’s .. greens are for forging, blues you sell for trash coin and whites you recycle for mats…
RNG is RNG.. doesn’t matter what colour you put in the forge, lady luck is the same no matter what.For your info I have generated hundreds of rares to break down for ecto’s in the forge, just this last week luck has not shone down on me or maybe there has been some closed door manipulation… luckily I don’t get hung up on loot envy and I am in no hurry for anything in particular to warrant getting overly upset about potential nerfs or not.
In my experience the forge sucks at making rares, I get maybe 1 in 10 tries.
