It needs to have at least a single capture point.
Otherwise, I will play a perma-stealth thief and just prolong the game. I will make the player lose by them resigning.
IMHO, sub80s should always have their transmutation costs divided by 3, for the exact same result as old crystals gave.
I feel that is too much.
My suggestion is that if the character is under level 79, the cost for transmutation is always 1 charge, no matter how many pieces are being transmuted even if it is the entire armor + weapons vs. one or two pieces. All of it cost 1 charge until a player reaches level 80. Then it will be 1 charge per gear.
This pricing is fair in my opinion. Leveling is really quick. By the time I blink, my gear is already outdated. The low cost of looking good will makes me want to look good even more.
The only problem I found with transmutation system is that those below level 80 have to use up a transmutation stone for a piece of gear.
I cannot find the PvE game any fun because of it. I have to stare at my ugly armor because I will outlevel the gear really soon anyways.
Charging for over level 80 characters is fine.

If players don’t want mounts so much, ANet can give them the veil debuff. It blinds their character completely so they don’t have to see mounts.
Next your gonna want flying mounts. There is a game you can play that has all of that and I suggest you might try it.

Mobility is part of profession balance. Get over it.

What I like about Skyhammer is the jump pads and the vertically. They just need to get rid of the skyhammer and glass windows.
Signet of Rage is fine, the balance issues with warriors are more related to damage, cleansing ire with bow, and some of their immunities.
I would disagree with that. There are plenty of warriors that don’t keep Sig of rage out of their bar. Very few warriors would bring banner, even fewer warriors bring rampage.

Mounts can be used by any class lacking reliable swiftness like Necro/Mesmer/Guardian. Those classes use rune of the traveler/speed for mobility.

also, @runeblade I do have weapons I have equipped. I swap one utility and one trait out and I have perma swiftness plus a mobility on my greatsword. to add onto that, I can go even faster by swapping weapons out for the skill, then swapping back afterwards, e.g. if i’m too lazy to swap for perma swiftness i’ll just swap my gs for a warhorn, cast #5 for swiftness, then swap back. (I guess this is just something wvw players do if you didn’t think of it..)
basically, the movement offset is already there. the difference between class X running moveset weapons vs. class Z running non-moveset weapons is already larger than a 25% boost (25% because most classes have 25% boosts already negating part of the 50% boost (not to mention certain classes DON’T have that boost either)
tl;dr as long as the movement bonus is set within the capabilities of characters designed for getting around fast, there’s no reason not to add them on a movement basis.
I also said it’s something that should be worked on “eventually” not now. as I said, just because it can potentially be bad isn’t a reason to completely invalidate it, and just saying “no lol dead horse” as a lot of people have been doing doesn’t help the anti-mount argument either

Dueling will never be implemented in the open world because it annoys too many people. The response against it is too vocal. Anet has gone out of their way to make a COOPERATIVE PvE experience rather than a competitive one. All competitive things in this game are walled of in their own areas, including minigames.
The only way it will be implemented is in it’s own area, because logically, it’s the best compromise Anet can make.
ANet needs to get rid of Scarlet blades because it annoys me.

that being said, just because an idea “could” be bad doesn’t mean that it should be completely invalidated, IMHO.
If I were in control, I would make them 33-50% speed boost, high gold cost, keep wps, and make them un-usable in wvw like most transformation tonics. I could see how complaints could transform that into something potentially bad though.
In short, I don’t think it should be the top of their list currently, as it is just a QoL thing, but I think it “is” something that should be considered eventually
(edit: p.s. I bet a mobility warrior or my perma-swiftness gs/lb ranger could outrun a 50% swiftness boost as well)
These numbers are why people are against mounts. It should stay 25% in PvE only.
It feels fast enough while staying cosmetic only + there is a gameplay reason to have it equal to More bank slot/Gem store ore/Mystic forge stone/harvesting tools.
Players won’t be stuck with mobility skills all the time if they want to travel the huge expansive world. They can actually equip weapon/skills they like while retaining the fast speed.

Here’s a logical argument for mounts:
“I’m willing to spend real money for an in-game mount provided the price is right.”
It would be easy to come up with a set of rules for them which would ensure that they aren’t game breaking. And I know it would require a bit of work, but I’m willing to PAY for it.
And most other players would pay more if the time used to make your not-gamebreaking mounts was used to make more armor/weapon skins to be added in the gem store.
In fact – GW1 armor brought back would be a much more popular and easy to sell gem store item than mounts.
And it has more benefits too – it adds to the game without making it worse to play.
Mounts have one simple problem – they add another model to an already cluttered environment.
Remember how awesome zerg vs boss fights look? with all the particle effects and clutter?
Imagine that with 50 people. Keep that image.
Imagine it with 50 people each riding a mount – basically adding another model for your PC to render and display.50 man zergs now feel and lag like 100 man zergs with no added benefit.
So no – mounts are not only illogical( mechanics wise and lore wise) but also impractical.

Imagine turning the render/character limits to lowest because the mount will disappear and set to lowest. You wouldn’t be able to play WvW anyways with all the lag in a battle anyways with normal setting.
GW2 is not balanced for mounts. It might even break events.
Furthermore, why the kitten would I want the tedious process of travelling all the way across the map just to do one event? If I wanted to look at the environment, I would look at the environment.
That isn’t to say context-sensitive mounts aren’t cool. I know many GW1 players who loved their Junundu they were able to capture and progress with. And when the Elona expansion opens up, darnit, I expect to ride in a worm!
But seriously though, stop asking for game-wide mounts. Junundu are loved because they came from an entire region tailored specifically for them. But game-wide mounts are a completely different can of wurms, which might negatively affect the game’s sense of movement. The Gw2 physics engine doesn’t even allow them to feel that good either, since the collision and physics programming would make them feel no different than on-feet travelling. In other words, mounts would feel like a Tonic or Bundle with a speed boost, and that is pretty kitten lame!

I don’t want someone following me around pestering me into fighting/taunting me for not being interested.
I don’t want beggars following me around pestering me into giving them gold for not being kind.
This is why Gold needs to be removed.
You post this same thing in all the duel threads. Just because something is in place that gives an opportunity for people to pester others doesn’t mean they should add another way to do so.
So, they should remove gold then? Because being pestered = bad. If not, what should I do to the beggars that keep begging me for gold? Because this problem makes me want gold to be completely removed from the game.

Custom arenas are not the solution – I am certainly not willing to pay a fairly large amount of gold every so often, just for the opportunity to duel. If this is the case, players should be “taxed” in every area of the game to support the servers.

I feel that the swiftness should be removed or nerfed in Signet of Rage.
Instead of 30 second swiftness, it should be 10 seconds. Might and Fury remains unaffected.

Want duels? Obsidian Sanctum. Seriously, though it’s empty most of the time, once a high profile GvG is announced, people will go there early and duel to kill time before a GvG.
Rules are simple: fight ’til down (not dead) and then back off. /bow @ to initiate a duel.
My guild loves to go to Obsidian sanctum to ruin all the duels over there.
The game has never been designed for 1v1. Live with it.

It has been design for all sorts of splits. Instead of just 5v5, it is also designed for 3v2, 2v2, 1v2, 1v1 because of the conquest mode.

That’s not far enough. Open world duelers must also travel to a remote, isolated location so I never have to see them or read their map chat-bragging or trash talking.
Then mailing and whispering should only work in a remote, isolated location so I don’t have to worry about beggars and gold spammers. I don’t want to read their incessant begging for gold. I don’t want to read that they are poor and I don’t want to be harassed when I say no to give them gold. I don’t want to be harassed by gold spammers either.
Furthermore, there has to be a sub-forum here for people to complain about how overpowered the class that just beat them is or how underpowered their own class is, with any complaints of class balance stemming from duels not posted in said sub-forum resulting in an infraction.
There is already a subforum and it is already full of complaints. Stop pretending that these don’t exist already.
I’ll be fine with this game having mounts, so long as:
1.) They DO NOT provide any form of boost.
and 2.) I have a toggle option to hide them all.

how it should be:
game starts, players get put on (mostly)random teams,
perhaps it could use ranks and try to balance them as best it can.if a player joins while teams are even and score are the same, player gets put on random team.
if a player joins while teams are uneven, player gets put on less populated team.
if a player joins while teams are even but scores aren’t, player gets put on losing team.players can still choose to change to a spectator, but doing so will make it so you cannot join the same game until it ends, even if you leave and rejoin.
the current problem is the one outlined by the OP, whan a team starts winning people will wait in spectator mode to join the winning team, and while this is happening people are leaving the losing team, in severe cases you can have the match ending in a 1v5 because noone else is joining the losing team.
also to the people saying “just do tournaments!” you need to understand, many of us can’t stand meta, imho thats the main function of hotjoin, its the mode where you can get away from most of the meta clones and play with none meta builds yourself, would you really want to play tournaments as a p/p thief? or a greatsword glasszerker warrior? you’d get cursed by your team and facerolled by the meta clones of the other team, sure we still have some meta clones in hotjoin, but there are alot less of them so you get to play the more enjoyable builds and face different ones!
The problem with that is that it will encourage meta builds in Hotjoin.
The only way to win is to use a meta build.

In the flame and frost update, you had to plug the snowstorm generator to remove the snowstorm.
Selling Arah is in no way toxic for this game: ‘Casual players’ get their tokens, while the seller[s] get their gold. No one loses.
It is still possible to pug arah, I do at least 3 paths every day.
Nerfing the difficulty of arah explorable would just increase the amount of sellers because a lot of buyers just buy the path because they don’t have time to run the path, not because the path is too difficult.
The people that loses are the ones that I kick to make spots for buyers. So much gold pouring in and ANet doesn’t regulate it.

The problem with this is that it becomes too spammable.
Cleansing flame needs a animation redesign.
Remove the current Cleansing flame and put in the one in the video. It looks better, it makes more sense(because torch gives off light), and torch is very weak and could use a buff.
New description:
Conjure light from your torch that cure conditions on allies, whenever a condition is cured, nearby enemies are burned.
Radius: 360
If kick inflict cripple, it would be the buff that makes it viable.
It is very versatile and introduce more active play than passive play(like stances, because everyone hates passive play).
Idk. People have huge problems with blinds and me aswell. I just think that it’s ok. Because it’s really the only thing that counters my warrior. If these suggestions got implemented I would land my burst near enough every time, which is just too good combined with Cleansing Ire. The only thing that makes Cleansing Ire not outright OP is blinds.
Though I hate blinds deeply, I still like the challenge of trying to avoid it when fighting a good thief for example and it’s really an element in the game.
It should be as it is, or remove the trait entirely. It’s not good enough, but these suggestions would just make it too good.
I have run Hydromancy sigil since a long time because it does basically the same thing as the trait. If I’m blinded, and swap to my hydro sigil and if it procs, that will remove the blind. Meaning I’m free to land my burst. But you still need a bit of skill to make good use of it. For example stay in range and in the theorycrafting have it on the best weapon strategically.
I agree. Blinds are the main counter to warrior for the msot part, and I feel like this would pish warrior over thee edge.

Brawler recovery don’t affect that. Plus, warriors would lose out the powerful burst mastery trait. Therefore they miss out extra damage + faster adrenaline building.

This looks like fairly standard MM. There are a few points I don’t like about his specific loadout, though;
1. Shadow Fiend instead of Flesh Wurm. Shadow Fiend is certainly nice, but running without a stunbreaker means he doesn’t have any versatility at all as he can’t make a 1200 leap off a point, and a decap engi will have their way with him.
2. Death’s Embrace instead of… Something else. I find this an odd choice, but it could work. Downed Necro 3 is pretty brutal, if you can get it off.Weaknesses:
He has no stunbreakers, no stability, and no vigor. Outside of his normal dodge generation, he has no way to get out of stuns. If you can get a buddy with some CC to come along with you, he’ll be unable to do anything at all. Similarly, he doesn’t have any of the tools that other classes use to tank, like blocks, heavy evades, evade frames on skills, etc etc- if you can get a focus on him, he’s just a life sponge.
His minions are very vulnerable to AoE. MM necros are obviously pretty well neutered when you kill their minions.
He has next to no mobility. This is partially because he doesn’t have a Wurm, and partially because he’s a necro. The only button he can push to go faster is Warhorn 5.
What the build needs is a staff and Rune of Melandru.
Please remove the 5 minutes duration of turrets from PvP. I died many times because turrets died from the duration limit. Keep it in PvE to combat bots or something.
Not going to happen.
This is equivalent to ANet balancing a entire new game just for a side mini-game. Plus there is too many mini pet to balance from.
