I spent roughly 5 hours in Tangled depths and only made 1100 leylines I think it’s called, what’s the fastest way to acquire these things?
It feels like a chore, especially since I wanna get back into WvW and join those other “skillful” roamers in face smashing the keyboard to win or spamming stealth to run.

Diversity isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but in this case it would be completely immersion-breaking. With all of that fighting and running around, I can’t see any character being chubby.

The price is too high but only because of perspective.
During BETA it was said buying expansion would UNLOCK elite specialisations, not be UNLOCKABLE.
It was at 400 points and only way to earn elites was to play HoT PvE… As a WvW player it did not sit well, especially with over 20 toons who were already level 80 and fully geared.
It was only just recently, some of us were given our privileges back (play how you want) by adding the option to unlock elites through other game modes.
Now as someone with over 20 toons, it’s easier to delete all except 1 of every class, strip all gear and just focus on those 9 toons left. No need to buy toon slots anymore at 800 gems each unless you’re keen on grinding, but again it’s a perspective thing.
HoT perspective is that Content = Grind.
My perspective is that Content = fun and playable.
To me, grinding is not enjoyable at all, but to others and the playerbase HoT aimed itself at, grinding for achievements is the ONLY game.
There wouldn’t be much of HoT if we didn’t have class mechanics to grind either, I think like a few legendaries and a couple of raid wings that are still getting released 6 months later?

That is exactly one of the problems with them, lol. It’s just another free get away for Thieves which they already have enough of.
Turning them into white mobs allows players to use them for stealth, teleports, etc. but means a smart player can shut you down by 1 shoting the npc’s.
So the smart player is shooting NPC’s while the enemy is shooting him? LOL
I’m happy they took away rally mechanic, they don’t really bother me unless it’s the oakhearts during duels.
I’m gonna be selfish and say don’t take the rest of the mobs away, I kind of need them for my Rev, Guard and Thief teleports and also to build life force for my Necro lol… I also believe Rangers can acquire pets through WvW still? I haven’t played ranger since they unnecessarily added stealth to longbow.

If you’re returning player it’s actually a lot worse than it used to be in terms of PvE gear for WvW….
We have these new stats now, similar to Dire gear but they come with Rare Veggies Pizzas installed into the stats, conditions are out of control and in order to have these “fine tuned stats” you will need to grind your kitten off in PvE or follow a WvW ktrain for days before you get your 1st piece of gear.
There’s also Minstrels + Durability Runes.

Team mates assume bunker ele, so they charge into point and get downed complaining “no heals”, fill them in you’re marauder and all of a sudden they stop charging into points and getting downed.

I don’t care if people see my WvW rank everywhere because I don’t give a kitten about what you think. It’s my achievement and I am proud of it. Not you.
Same logic applies to PvP badges.
Because wvw ranks are a progression system that includes abilities to unlock, its not a cosmetic item like a badge thats visible to all players.
SPvP ranks are also a progression system that includes the ability to unlock legendary backpieces. The difference is WvW player have not yet been given a nice shiny badge, you might find there is less hostility towards PvP badges if Anet actually started treating WvW players with a bit more respect and give us the shinys that PvP gets, looking at you finishers, legendary backs, rank icons…

So the devs opening up communication with the wvw community for the first time in years is a problem?The past few months have been fantastic. If we’d had this kind of interaction before they made all the mistakes like kitten near everything that came with HoT, and the stability change, wvw would be in an amazing place right now.

Besides the recent badge change, WvW dev team have been extremely awesome lately. They seem to be taking suggestions from hardcore WvW players about WvW rather than large PvE guilds who dabble in WvW when the train suits them best.

I used legendaries as an example because they are cosmetic items earnt through a particular game mode, like the badges were.
I find it extremely hard to compare WvW ranks with PvP ranks because again, one is a progression system with ability unlocks while the other is pure cosmetic.
HoT mastery rank and WvW mastery rank would be a good comparison though.

This is intentional. We made the change to help with nameplate visual clutter in WvW.
Very sad to hear…
PvP players like to show off their achievements as much as a PvE player or WvW player.
Maybe the next logical step would be to remove PvE legendaries from WvW and PvP? All those effects would surely add to “visual clutter” would it not?
If it was a nameplate issue, I honestly don’t get it when we have titles that are longer than the name + badge combined.

Nearly a third of total score can be accomplished by doing PvE… In a PvE orientated game it only makes sense, even if it should be player vs player.
Best map is Khylo for me, take out treb, no map mechanics left, just players vs players.
(I like my PvP against players without trebs, NPCS or map mechanics though)

Mine would be like HoT… Releasing the expansion then going on holidays while the game was broken and stripping lots of dedicated players of their accomplishments.

What I said is that thief is un-viable in competitive play, it’s simply the weakest class in the game at the moment, every team captain knows it.
Rly, why would u pick thief in your team if u can get a revenant that does same thing as thief (making offnode fights 1v2 with easy kills) and does it even better than thief thanks to revealed skill YET revenant has crazy teamfight presense and rocks 1v1 against many classes (except necroses/mesmers condi meta users)For people who don’t see a picture from both thief and non-thief perspective plz don’t respond to this. Because u don’t get how useless he actually is and you notice them only when they finish you off thanks to you letting yourself get below 50% hp without paying attention to enemy rotations.
So far thief is:
Can’t 1v1
Can’t teamfight
Can’t holdCan run around waiting for enemy to get low but revenant can do the same yet rev can do all what thief can’t
Can decap
That decap thing is easily solved by putting solo engies/rangers/eles/mesmers on node where they will simply chill and watch and laugh at thief running around while he’s being useless.
Oh and another way to make thief viable in teamfights… Give Unload skill an unblockable and piercing tags. Pet/reflect spam just makes it beyond worthless, even after recent buffs, which didn’t change anything pretty much.

I’m just a pug in solo q matched against other pugs. I’m assuming they could do that too if matched against other pugs without a Teamspeak to easily track enemy movements.
No, i am talking about normal matches in legend and not pro team vs pro team. I faced levin and sind frequently and by all means they are best thieves on EU atm and i don’t see them doing what you claim you can do.
And you should start visiting dueling servers. Thief is ridiculous 1v1 atm but you have to be good at it.. Sorry, being good doesnt apply to forum warriors here. Its mostly qq spam fest.

Ah, I’m NA not EU. I’ve heard the play styles and skill floor are different between the 2.
Not sure what Legendary rank is over in EU but in NA it’s mostly PvE players who were able to boost through the ranks with lucky match making because they have’nt played long enough to establish a 50/50 w/l ratio.1
Dunno about other thieves but in order of easiest to hardest to kill its:
Mesmers
Rev
Other Thieves
Necros
DH
Elementalist
Druid
Scrapper
Condi War.
Again, that’s my list.
Any thieves out there that could give some pointers to go against a condi war would be nice, I do struggle with them a bit. Best I can do is kite and unload spam

You’re 100% correct, no need to pick Thief over a Rev in a team fight…
Thieves should be capping home then either +1 on mid or capping Far at the start then rotating to decap and +1 where ever possible throughout the rest of the game.

In the next release, a 6th pip is being added to the provision master ability line that allows you to buy HoT recipes, sigils, and runes from the heroics notary vendor.

Settler is too strong for some classes.
Unless you would enjoy fighting a bunker chrono mes that can still stack tonnes of condi’s and heals.
Then there’s also Druids and maybe Wars that would probably use it too.

Best thing to know: Use stun or daze at the end of their evade frame then sneeze on him, or use AoE.

It depends on the circumstances. Players who refuse to swap classes or listen to reason deserve to get criticized.
Players who refuse to swap are most likely trying to get class achievements done, but that’s the players fault right? Not the game design. So “criticize” them all you like, I’m sure you’re playing their main and could say a few things themselves about you.

It looks like a mostly meta power meta build with the exception of one utility. Hardly an indicative that he’s going to be terrible and cost the game.
I mean kitten, I’ve been playing my ele as fresh air, and I’ve been doing ok. It’s not meta, but i’m advancing.
You are correct, it’s basically the META power burst build but with a few tweaks, I do enjoy using Bola>100b.

Proper matches is subjective, but as for the relinking schedule we plan to hold a poll to determine how often it should happen (this is assuming World Linking wins the current poll).
It is also important to clarify that even though we might be able to hold relinking more regularly than quarterly there will still need to be some amount of weeks, we are still determining how many, before we can hold another relink because of glicko and time spent to make the match ups.
Will you fix population for world transfers for linked servers? Or give options to those that transferred in this time a choice to be on the linked server?
My guild just started playing WvW together again but they had paid to go through DR to be on Mag.
they aren’t on mag. if the goal was to ensure friends playing together, you all needed to go to a guest. imagine all of et incorporated into bg – can you say super stacked?
Most of us came from T1 and only some of us got to Mag before they linked the servers, when the servers got linked, Mag became full due to the link so they went to DR so they could still be on Mag.
I read forums and kind of knew it wasn’t going to be permanent with it being called BETA and all but majority of players DON’T read forums and paid money to be on certain servers…
I only want to see WvW flourish again, not constantly be given reasons to quit or think “What a waste of time and money” which is what it is to those that paid for transfers during this BETA, people who had no idea the link was temporary.

Proper matches is subjective, but as for the relinking schedule we plan to hold a poll to determine how often it should happen (this is assuming World Linking wins the current poll).
It is also important to clarify that even though we might be able to hold relinking more regularly than quarterly there will still need to be some amount of weeks, we are still determining how many, before we can hold another relink because of glicko and time spent to make the match ups.
Will you fix population for world transfers for linked servers? Or give options to those that transferred in this time a choice to be on the linked server?
My guild just started playing WvW together again but they had paid to go through DR to be on Mag.

Have party issues with linked server players…
They don’t show up on the minimap. Can see them if I open map and look for a green dot somewhere on the map, but it doesn’t work like a normal party up should.
I’m on Mag, friend is on DR. Anyone else experiencing this or have a way around it?
(He’s also a guildie but there is no Yellow dot either)

Yes, but it seems some people would actually be willing to hand over cash for this rather than endlessly grind a mushroom farm every day. Personally, invisible footwear should’ve been a toggle switch in the first place, like helmets, gloves and shoulders.
I would much rather hand over cash for invisible shoes and continue playing the game the way I enjoy it rather than spending countless hours grinding for RNG drops.

In WvW I use the champion title that fits the class I’m playing.
In PvP it’s Yakslapper.
For one toon who’s dressed like a king I got “The Emperor”.
