There is plenty of build options if you know your classes well enough. This season I think is the best season for build diversity, but the worst for match making.

EG: Tempest can do a lot more than just “Clerics Heal” lol just a shame no one actually knows how to use an Ele outside of D/D cele and whats posted on METAbattle.

No not so much this. It doesn’t take theory crafting away at all. You are more than welcome to theory craft all you would like, meta’s change. You may have a build that does better against some classes etc than the meta build. Truth is though the meta build is usually the best option for a variety of situations.

But if you know better than the pro players I’m excited to see them get stomped by some build they probably never thought of.

META builds are best for learning a new class and they stem from streamers. “The Pro’s use it so it must be good” which is fair enough logic but doesn’t mean there is only one viable build. And yes META builds will most likely change every ESL and yes META builds are generally customised for allround potential, but doesn’t mean it’s the best, they logically change due to either a balance patch or because A better build was discovered… Playstyles and variable factors also come into play and it really comes down to how much knowledge the player has over his class and experience involved with it, which again applies to the Pro’s.

But back to the point, “Meta battle takes all the theory crafting out of the game for most players”. – Of which I fully agree off the basis that everyone assumes that I’m a “cleric support Ele” in game.

How about just capes?

Make our own “superheroes”.

People need to unlock elites, roaming doesn’t provide that and roaming on a base class build you will get rekt by people running Elite builds, also if you run elite builds you end up ganking base builds.

I dunno tho, roaming to me the reward was the fights, getting into fights with equally skilled/levelled players.

Trying to 1v4 mid point and far point because I have 4 allies trying to kill a Merc Amulet PU Condi Mes on home.

I’m going to say no thank you… I’m not against it coming back, but without Cele amulet there has been so many viable builds pop up where you can actually choose what sort of role you want to play and not just equipping a cele amulet and stacking might.

I would love this sigil for my toons with Sup rune of Rage.

I avoid partying because I already get annoyed when I’m pugging against a premade… I don’t want to increase the risk of those matches popping up.

Edit: Further into the season I even stopped partying with some guild members because of rank differences, someone in emerald didn’t wanna give me a loss in ruby and I don’t party with someone because I don’t want to give him a loss in diamond.

The elite specs are character bound and bought with HP on that character. For spvp they are automatically unlocked. For Wvw you can earn heroics notary which can be turned into hero points to unlock your elite specs.

I know you can earn Elites in WvW but 200 tower flips or more for character out of 19+ is ridiculous, especially in WvW current state.

They removed uplevels from WvW to level the competition and balance issues but yet we are seeing chrono’s running around with 30 points to use a shield and an empty trait line which is 2/3 trait lines vs someone with 3.

After 3 years of watching the game flourish then die out slowly, server stacking is needed to help population.

3 years ago T5 was as active as T1 is now. Only natural to those of us who enjoy WvW to server stack towards the top to keep that “feeling” alive.

Any indication that Elites will be available to those in WvW that paid for them?
Any indication that Elites are going to be account bound?
Any indications that there will be an Elite reward track in PvP?

Anything like that planned for the future? To help out players that don’t PvE?

I’m just after an answer so I can stop sending support tickets on a weekly basis, I’ll even stop bashing on your game on public forums if I could get an answer because in short, your game is absolutely amazing and my only issue is being punished in a combat zone for being a loyal customer that bought so many character slots.

I paid for Elite skills, PvP gives me what I paid for. I don’t have time to grind 900 towers for each of my 18 characters to get them at a “competitive” level in WvW anymore.

Also, can’t organise guild builds while people don’t have access to everything.

Druid for CC and big heals.
Ele for boons and medium heals dispensed rapidly.
Guard for utility, lots of boons and small heals dispensed rapidly. (Double edge sword fighting more than 1 necro)

Of course it will depend on your build and playstyle, but those 3 should be really good. If you’re using METAbattle and are fairly new, best to roll with Druid/Ele META builds.

If you get compensation for that I would like the same treatment regarding all the Gems bought to upgrade guild halls before HoT where they stripped it all from us.

Some people had solo bank guilds that were completely maxed out so they could apply +5 buffs, various banners and access to certain guild siege.

Most I’ve had is 8k but currently sitting on 12g

I don’t know about MMO consumer laws and regulations, but asking for a refund after 7 months of playing a game seems awfully like claiming thy gave you the wrong soda after drinking most of it…

It is against the law for businesses to tell you or show signs stating that they do not give refunds under any circumstances, including for gifts and during sales

Your rights under the consumer guarantees do not have a specific expiry date and can apply even after any warranties you’ve got from a business have expired.

Consumer has also paid for a product which has now been scrapped, so I think he is within his rights as a consumer.

So I thought it would be interesting to see how far i could get on paladin d/d ele in season 2. Here are my results so far.

• 39 games
• 4 losses
• 2 of those losses were 4v5
• 3 pip into ruby so far
• A dragonhunter who somewhat knows what he is doing will destroy you since you lack sustain without cele amulet
• Revs should beat you but most people play them poorly

Has anyone else tried out some bases classes? How did you fare? Let me know in the comments below.

Dunno about base classes but my guild has a few builds in guild message of the day and Arcane Ele has carried most of us to diamond.

It’s good to see another Ele not following the META.

I used to impress people with my SAB finisher, now everyone has it for 600 gems.

This is why I don’t bother with PvE, nice WvW update too.

I think it’s a great idea but more so for population issues…. DBL would be a lot of fun if the map was full on all 3 sides.

It’s got a higher skill floor now that most abandoned for “META” builds, a good Warrior is always helpful, just like a good thief.

Only a WvW player has most of his Elites to still unlock.

Please don’t speak on behalf of everyone as I have no interest in rewards.

The PvP/WvW combat system is THE ONLY reason I still play GW2 after 7k hours.

I’d like it if they removed the “checkpoint” system up until ruby. If I don’t belong in Ruby, I shouldn’t be there draggin down players who belong in Diamond/Legendary.

If not, then atleast drop people into lower divisions if they have 0 PIPS and go 5 losses, currently with nothing to lose, people play like morons draggin down those who deserve to be higher. (speaking from experience)

Probably because you messaged him after the match… The game ended so no need to dwell on it or start messaging people how they could do better/worse and it’s more than likely he had a few things to say himself but didn’t and tried to let it go until you messaged him after the game.

During game, all you can do is what you did.

It’s simple really, can earning a Champion Title also unlock it’s Elite for the class?

Currently for PvP focused people like myself who only WvW and PvP, there is little room for us to unlock what we paid for by playing the game modes we enjoy.

The new maps are no where near as bad as people make them out to be. Ofc at first it was a bit a shock and I wasn’t that impressed with the size or the gimmicks in it but time does help you over come it. Quite enjoying roaming now (not solo, 2-5 people)

Not sure but today they won’t engage a fight anymore and one wipe will equal an empty map, but I’m pretty sure PPT commanders are to blame for that and not a whole server.

Elites to be unlocked in WvW….

Being fully specced fighting someone with only 30 points in their spec is stupidly designed, it’s not fun for anyone.

Also, it would go a long way for guilds who want to get back into zerg busting but can’t due to it’s WvW members not wanting to PvE to unlock elites to allow for team building and class switching.

Cover the basics for most given scenarios….

I mostly roam WvW or PvP so,
WvW power build: make atleast 2200 power, 50% crit and have atleast 2300 toughness, have a stun break, a condi cleanse, a gap closer and a block/invuln and have a maxed out Elite Spec.

PvP: Read the chat, let everyone run out gates and watch where they go, then move accordingly, have atleast 2 stunbreaks, a condi cleanse and some utilities to help allies.

No one bombs the downs.
No one focuses the target.
People accuse you of teleport hacking when using a flesh wurm.
4 people zerg 1 person off point.
Barely anyone knows temple timers.
4 people zerging beast and still not cap home.
The Foefire lord rush 30 points into a game.
When you’re winning Foefire 450-480 and team gives enemy 3 points to try and rush lord thus losing the game.
When you are doing a 3v2 and winning then realise it’s now a 1v2 because 2 allies saw a beast spawn or a thief run past.

Closing in on 1500 right now after all the guild upgrades, but admit, prefer that they didn’t allow this since it would have speed through the expansion even faster.

I have 19 toons and only WvW and PvP, I was going to make another 15 toons roughly but not while the Elite grind is associated with it. Sure I guess it’s good for people who only have their original 5 toon slots and also enjoy PvE, but it doesnt work out so well for those of us with jobs and limited play time.

If it’s a good guild that is growing little by little and doing well, why would you need that extra power and control? This is of course assuming the guild leader has given his officers full control over the guild except for the emblem he probably spent an hour picking.

Can we please have some finished weapon sets?

I’m thinking mainly 2 weapon sets I would love to finish would be the purple set and the blue set…

Purple set = Chaos Gun, Whisperblade, Spirit Links, Vision of the Mists and so on…
Blue Set = Foefires Essence, Azureflame and so on

What I mean by finishing set is that neither of those 2 have Staff skins, Dagger skins, Rifle or pistol skins, I believe more a missing but with all the amazing skins that get released would it be too difficult to quickly whip up those skins for ingame cosmetic purposes?

You already have Ignus Fatuus as a spear skin that would be awsome as a staff and hopefully easy to convert? The same again for Urchin’s Needles that could be used as a rifle.
