Afaik no where does it say that precursor crafting is supposed to be “cheaper” to craft. It is only a guaranteed method to receive a precursor unlike the previous methods which was gambling or buy it straight from the tp. Also I just checked for you it would cost you are 588gold to buy all the mats right now and craft spark. If you craft most of your materials over a period of time it will cost you around 500gold depending on price fluctuations. Overall, currently crafting spark is indeed cheaper than buying the pre outright. So… I don’t really know what you’re complaining about.

It was an unintended feature, when the boxes first came out it was possible. They patched it quite quickly after that I believe, so to answer your question it is no longer possible.

You can ‘make’ a precursor exactly the same way you could ‘make’ a precursor before HoT was released. Craft weapon of choice either rare or exotic and throw it into the Mystic Forge

hmm so im confused & misinformed. I thought crafting back in the day was for creating Legendaries like “this” thread explains.

And Vayne, how is crafting a legendary possible now? Every recipe stems from Grandmaster Craftsman Hobbs (requiring masteries) or achievements (requiring… masteries). So far, it sounds like the only reason to master crafting previously was to craft exotics & throw them into the mystic dump hoping a pre will pop out? Bummer!

I believe you misunderstand. The new “Legendary crafting” is simply the precursor. Previously precursors could only be optioned via drops or the mystic forge. With HoT the option to craft a precursor was added. What SuburbanLion meant by crafting is that each legendary requires a certain gift which is from crafting. Such as Gift of metal (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Gift_of_Metal). These have been in the game since legendaries were released and the old legendaries required at least 2of these types of gifts which were unique to the legendary.

Could you perhaps post a screenshot of you armor, skills and traitlines? It’s very hard to help you when we don’t know what you are running. Off the top of my head i can tell you that the best dps weapons for warrior are Greatsword and Axe/Mace. Hammer is more of a control weapon and has bad over dmg and atk speed.

Curious are you sure your pet was alive? Teq has huge rings of AoE circles and can easily wreck a pet especially if they go chasing out of the zerg which should have constant AoE healing from players and turrets. Claw doesn’t have that the same issue as much because when you’re full melee dpsing the claw he is stunned and won’t attack allowing you to freely hit him.

Well you see wayyyyyy back in the day you could actually buy those runes/sigils for 1c and then sell it for a couple copper at the vendor. Anet fixed this by making it so you can’t sell below the vendor price. For whatever reason Anet can’t remove offers so they just sit there forever… unless someday the person/people who put the offers remove them.

Another thing to note is too save gold and not buy anything. When i’m saving up for a legendary I never really use gold except using waypoints, and even then the silver it costs me to wp is negligible compared to whatever I do. Maybe the first thing you should do is get comfortable with a build so you stop wasting money on gear. Gear can also be obtained in many ways aside from gold, you can buy it for karma, in wvw for about 1g + 250badges / piece, you can get it from pvp reward tracks etc.
If you want to save gold then you have to stop spending gold first and then start doing the tips other ppl in the thread have provided.

This makes it sound like you just want things for free without effort which frankly makes me have no sympathy for you. If you don’t want to put the effort into getting something then you don’t deserve it.
And before you say it’s just a dive achievo, the point of mastery points is to experience different parts of the game and diving is part of the game.

If you go to the new HoT maps the skill points there are worth 10skill points each making it very quick to train the elites.

When i made my first run towards Diamond i was really nervous with all the stories on the forums so i refrained from saying anything about my status once i hit t5 ruby. And lucky me I went 10wins in a row for diamond
But then again I switched to my main ele and tried out tempest and holy kittens it was so easy to carry bads compared to scrapper.

yeah, that’s one of the major flaws of this game: playing a complicated rotation means just sticking to the same pattern, as you cannot really see the cds on your skills.

In wow, you could use any number of skills you felt were useful and see the cd of ALL of them at the same time, allowing you to use a priority cast order.

Errrr not sure if i’m reading it wrong but there are options in settings that let you see the CDs of your skills…

If movement speed is an issue for you, you can consider getting some traveler runes which are at an all time low. They give u permanent 25% movement speed, an alternative thats about 3g cheaper (for full set) are speed runes but the stats aren’t as good.

Hi my last request never did get filled out in time (it was for the phalanx armor skin which is gone now ) so i took it down. Recently I have been standing around for some time for pvp leagues or TT and I constantly hear people playing music via instruments in game. As a musician in real life i also want to play music in game. I would love it if someone could send me a musical harp or flute, I’m not too picky between the two!

Honestly, it’s been a struggle. I’m not asking for gold even though I have very little. I’m asking for advice, honestly. I’ve been spending the past 3 days just purely THINKING about how to start my journey of crafting the Twilight legendary. I want to know farming locations for most of the materials. Not to mention I have no idea how to obtain Mystic coins. They’re not that expensive so I decided to just buy them from the trading post, however, knowing how to obtain them through normal means would save me some cash. If anything, knowing the best way to obtain Dusk would be just as helpful.

And on a final note, donations are obviously appreciated, even though this is one hell of a task. If anyone is willing to get me Heart of Thorns, that would save me some money and potential hassle with ArenaNet.

Mystic coins are from daily rewards now. Just login in everyday and you will get them. You can get T6 mats from farming SW and opening bags. t5 > t6 mat promotions, Onyx lodestones from TA. SW is also a good source for ectos as you can get rares and salvage those for ectos.

All map completion comes from central Tyria PvE? Maybe check all your maps again and make sure you went to Chantry of secrets

^ You can do that by putting a hotkey for the stow weapon option.
Go to options > controls > scroll down and it should be there somewhere.

Tbh I find the build quite amazing. I haven’t gotten a good feel of when to use Celestial form yet (only played 3matches so far) but the on point sustain is amazing. I was 1v2ing a trap DH and a rev in the mid point on legacy and actually was able to kill both by constantly running around and dodging. My pet put so much pressure on them with the 25might that it had. I’ll keep playing around with it and see if i can get a better feel of it. Love it sofa though!

When you clear a racial city you are rewarded with 1transmutation charge. Clear as in map clearing, basically find all wps, POI and vistas in rata sum

Yes, to receive credit u have to create a guild team and add in members. All members should also be in a party to be in the same match.

Starter zones. The first 30levels of your personal stories center around your characters race, however there are 4other starter zones and areas tied to them that you also have to explore.

Open those chests on a toon that is level 50-55ish, preferably light armor so you have a higher chance of getting cloth armor. Salvage the armor/weapons you get and sell the mats for $$$

@Brother I remember that feeling so well. FSP was my first legendary and at one point as was seriously stuck. My guild leader at the time was super rich and he bought me my pre.

On topic depends. Do you have map completion and karma? If you do i’d say its a lot faster to craft it. If you don’t have those then it’d probably be faster to straight out buy the legendary.

Trick Or Treat bags, afaik theres a group that goes around using Vials of Maize Balm to turn ambients into candy corn, then kill the candy corn for ToT bags and sell them on the tp. Its pretty profitable since each balm can net u up to 18 candy corns, each balm is about 8silver (last time i checked was month ago) and each ToT bag sells for about 5s. There was a post a while back on how it works.

I thought if you have them targeted where you can see their skill bar you can see vengeance and illusion of life have different icons… which look like their respective skill icons.

Karka shell farming maybe? In south sun cove, i’ve seen a couple more karka shell run posts these past days. Basically you just run around killing Karkas the shells are worth some good money.
You can also do mining runs where you just fly through zones mining/harvesting/gathering everything.

Well buying a bunch of precursors and reselling them… someone has tried to do that before, and guess what? They failed, people just simply listed the items at a cheaper price and the price went back down in a couple of days.
Besides how do you know someone or some people are trying to make money from it? The price has been steadily going up sure, but its a highly valued item and there is limited supply available so naturally it’ll go up. http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/49480 Even after the few price spikes it still dips down a bit… And no the price did not spike to 370g in 1night as you claim.

End of the day I could make the same argument for Halloween skins, fused skins, molten jetpacks just about anything thats popular and has no supply. There is no evidence that someone is trying to flip these for money, people just want them and take the time to grind out the gold for them…

Unless you can show me specific evidence that someone or some group is actively flipping this item then all i can say is I’m sorry, your just being childish and want to be spoon fed things you don’t want to work for.

Thing is ET has tried rebuilding several times before, and failed several times. I’ve been on every single exodus, every single rise and its always the same. The main reason always is Internal drama and/or lack of fights. This time though a big portion of “veterans” have transferred off, so i’m hoping for a new structure of ET WvW.

Although having a “Very high population” certainly doesn’t help, thats prolly the only thing you can complain about, a server transfer cost that actually represents the server’s WvW status
