If all ANET does to the commander system is implement colored tags, I’d be shocked. I seriously wonder what the team does all day. There has to be much more to it than that.

The mistake in all of this was sending a team vs 2 PUG groups. No one wants to watch that.

If they wanted an all-stars tournament, there should have been a max of 2 people per team sent. That would have made the event exciting.

When will the important announcements be made? The new tournaments are great but only are there for the most hardcore. The standard models are ok as an option, but most people probably won’t even take advantage of it.

The announcements we need:
1. Modification of existing maps to make the cap points larger
2. New leaderboards
3. Easier way for people to join tPvP teams and have different tiers for the tournaments
4. Removal of skyhammer from solo queue and make the blast dodgeable.
5. Orb carrier in spirit watch needs its own set of skills
5. New game modes
6. Improved balance philosophy. Waiting 5-6 months for balance patches is unacceptable.

Warrior is by far the easiest.

Guardian is a bit more difficult knowing when to do shouts, etc.

Both are easy compared to other professions.

I think the new tournament is a great idea if it gets new teams created and draws new people to the game.

The limiting factor to the success of this is the balance team. They will need to step up their game and release updates as needed vs waiting for a big release.

This is, and always has been, a PvE game. Any publicity as a result of tournaments is to drive people to PvE.

In WvW zerging, it is fine if you just want to run around and just tag stuff. You aren’t overly valuable though.

In GvG, the meta is more towards dps at this point, so you won’t see too many who run this gear.

I would just like to see one change: a person cannot join the winning team when the teams are even. Right now, let’s say the matchup is 4v4 and one team is winning 200-125. The next player will almost always join the 200 team. That just causes the match-up to become even more unbalanced.

Why does the balance team do the opposite of what is good for balance? Examples:

Players:
Warrior has too much sustain on point
ANET:
Ok, let’s nerf 100 blades damage

Players:
Turret Engi is a no skill spec that does too well
ANET:
Ok, lets buff the rocket turrets.

Players:
S/D thief has too many evades
ANET:
Cool, let’s make it harder to do damage

Players:
We are in too much of a bunker meta
ANET:
Cool, let’s nerf thieves

Players:
Eviscerate hits too hard
ANET:
Let’s pretend we didn’t hear that

A preview of future bad ideas (take note ANET. You can use these!)
1. Let’s buff spirit weapons for guardians. Players hate AI and this will really make them mad.
2. Let’s buff Lich form
3. Let’s buff PU on mesmers
4. Let’s buff meteor shower and make it unblockable and undodgeable.

Condi P/D as you know it would never be an effective PvP spec. It kills too slow. I’m talking more about the power P/D which isn’t bad to fight against.

We need a balance of rewards between solo queue and team queue.

The rewards now are built to incentivize team queue. The issue is that this makes team queue the new solo queue. It usually ends of being a pug team vs a premade. That is not fun for either side. Two changes are needed:

1. Balance the rewards
2. Remove skyhammer so that people actually want to solo queue (I know, that’s the keyword that makes devs not read the post)

There is no longer an excuse not to revert the Cloak and Dagger nerf. Make it the same in PvP that it is in PvE. Hopefully that will make other weapon sets like D/D and P/D more viable.

A lot of people are giving you tips for fighting thieves or other roamers. In your case, you want to run with a commander in a group. Your spec, if done correctly, isn’t going to be great at 1v1 against anyone. Your best bet is to either run to the commander in a group, or wait for the commander to come back to spawn.

Remember: Any class in a roaming spec will beat a zerg spec 1v1. The most the zerg spec can hope to do is run away.

EotM, as a map, is fine for combat. You’ll find thread after thread on these boards asking for changes to the regular WvW maps which are in place in EotM. If you’re having a hard time dealing with fighting in EotM, it really is a “learn 2 play” issue.

What? No. Keep EotM junk out of WvW. We do not need more PvE in WvW.

The reality is that EotM is not balanced. Even if you took out all rewards, it would still be heavily favored for green.

Depends on PvE, PvP, WvW roaming, WvW zergs

PvE: Below average. It is way easier to use a guardian or warrior here. If you want big damage, an ele is better.

PvP: Decent spot right now. Will likely be much closer to the bottom after the next balance patch. S/D and D/P are both getting nerfed.

WvW roaming: Goes well here, but that is mostly against the quality of players. You mostly see people who are zerg builds. Might take a while to kill them, but they aren’t going to kill you either.

WvW zerg: Change classes. Your blast finishers are not worth it.

GS changes: Nerf 100 blades? I haven’t seen anyone complain about that skill in-game in over a year. It should be kept the same. Instead, ANET should change “rush” to require a target.

Eviscerate: Where is the adjustment on that? It is way to easy to land right now. Reduce the damage.

Endure Pain: This skill should not allow the warrior to contest or capture a point.

1. Too unbalanced for actual matchups. Green always has the advantage.
2. Maps doesn’t lend itself to fights. There are only a few spots where larger groups can fight.
3. Vertical aspect. The map lends itself more to running away from fights
4. Focus on NPCs. If I want to fight NPCs I can do that in PvE. That’s why this map is more PvE than WvW.

To sum: EotM is a PvE map where you can kill people.

Actually, we split the balance update into multiple episodes because a single, 80 minute balance show was exhausting for both the team and the viewers.

As for content previews, when we are able to talk about upcoming content, we will include it on the show. Until then, the episodes will focus on tournaments and events happening within the competitive community.

Well let’s be realistic here Mark, Anet obviously has the ability to pre-record content, so you could more than easily record portions and compile it all into one video for us to take a look at as we please or summarize changes into a written document, etc. This spacing out and show itself is entirely for a hype/content train. Unless you literally think the changes are so mind-blowing here that your community base couldn’t possibly take them all in one single episode or combined forum post? Granted, I can’t complain because any information is welcome information, but don’t treat us like we’re brainless. We all know views on twitch drop incredibly when the show is just about ‘community events’ as opposed to ‘game changing balance decisions’.

What’s more disappointing is how long it will be between balance patches. I hope ANET realizes that this game will never be an esport because of their own decisions. Compare balance frequency to LoL

Also to ANET: If your goal is balance, it is not a great idea to adjust 30 different skills at once. It is impossible to balance the game that way.

Yeah, the whole concept of buying or unlocking new skills/traits in PvP is a bad idea. I see the value of doing it for PvE, but in PvP, I just want to try new classes/specs.

The only time I laugh is if I am fighting outnumbered.

If someone laughs when they down you, it is just because they rarely win a fight and are happy. For anyone who has a lot of kills, one more is not a big deal.

I’m sorry, but I am like rank 30 in PvP, and I only get there through funning with my friends. I don’t know how my own personal feelings on what I would like to see changed at this point had anything to do with your or how they gave you the impression that I play PvP more than I roam.

tried pvp few times, saw what its about, left and never looked back.
(i comes from years of competitive PvP games, with world live tournaments like… i still don t like mmorpgs pvp expecially capture point)

But WWW roaming is a different thing.
The balance is a joke…some profession are way Beyond OP and yet they are ignored because “in pvp they can’t capture point so easily”.

WWW doesn t force you to sit in a circle/square, nor gives you points if your opponent disengage.

You have to actually kill your opponent and if he is able to disengage/engagé at will, the profession with the least mobility AND longer cooldown is in a bad position.

There is infact a reason why Bunker is not viable for solo roaming for example while is extremely strong in PvP.

Since release the nerfs against Bunker eles are hitting hard balanced/offensive ele more than the bunker ones.

One year ago we had more build+role variety than today in www, and NO build was OP.
The video of daphoenix KITING 10 newbies was just a test to see if people notices the mistakes of attackers (not even Dungeon bosses with the awful AI ignores players to focus on an earth elemental really)……

You really don’t know much about roaming.

Lol P/D thief…what a joke. Like, it’s so hard to kill nubs in wvw that you have to go full condi bunker. WvW is becoming a joke but the developers don’t seem to care because they let perplexity runes and condi food run rampant. But go ahead, get carried by your build. At least I won’t see you people in PvP. Although, if you do run condi thief in PvP please be on the other team, it’ll increase my chances of winning.

Some groups move within tiers to get better fights (your original server is stacked during your timezone so you move to an opposing server to fight that blob).

Or in the case of NA servers, the guild got bought by the rival server or your server is dying/toxic and the guild wants to leave but remain in the same tier.

This or the guild didn’t like getting beat and decided to transfer to a stronger server within a tier so that they felt better.

Ranger will still be less than average in WvW. No one will be asking for rangers there.

In PvP, this is a different story. They could bright the DPS, but we need to see the upcoming changes to other classes first.
