engi itself isn’t OP in a lot of situation. It is fine in WvW and it is fine in PvE.
Certain specs are completely OP in PvP though. Turrets still need a big nerf. I also think grenades are too strong.
I am glad to see the CDI. I have just one request: Let people use armor/food from PvE/WvW and not be restricted by what is in PvP. PvP mode is too basic as far as gear choices go.
I find the environment better in team queue.
That said, don’t expect a lot of communication. Afterall, it is a
PUG.

This is one place where I really disagree with you, Vee Wee. It’s this attitude that ruins the map. The map itself is fine when it isn’t 4v5, but it’s constantly 4v5 because of this attitude.

Thief is one of the weaker classes right now.
I am definitely not a fan of alliances. I like seeing common faces, whether they are in my guild or not. I also like seeing common enemies and that helps with rivalries.
Also, who cares if we have 24 evenly balanced servers? Right now it works well. If you want blobs, go higher tier. If you want smaller groups, go lower tier. It works for whatever you want.

You must be new to the game. Welcome. Rangers were considered OP not too long ago in PvP. They had a spirit build that was easy mode.
Please stop repeating that rangers were underpowered for 2 years because it isn’t true.
I actually think auto balance is a good thing. The change that needs to happen is that people should not be allowed to join the winning team when the match has an even number of players on each team.
Watch the next game. If it is a 4v4 and the score is 300-100, the next person will almost always join the winning team. That makes the game even more of a blow out, and then people on the losing team quit, and the auto balance kicks in.

I’m from TC and although I cannot speak for the server I will tell you that the only difference between a t2 and a t1 server is the defense. If you arn’t willing to do the grunt work of walking yaks, defending towers/keeps, responding (preferable using a chat program) against overwhelming odds, then you lose.
It is nothing personal, but if 90% of the server only wants that sweet sweet lootz then there is much better ways to get it outside of (real) WvW. Simple advise would be placing a few players in every tower/keep with the new siege disruptors. It is not as if we don’t want the competition (we do, bored currently), but you have to have to be willing to give up on most of the loot if you want to compete with t1.
If you were actually on TC, you’d know that there is a lot more difference between T1 and T2 than that.

When wvw is queued, how about shortening the AFK timer? Annoying to see people AFK while others who want to play cannot get in…. I know a few minutes to go get a drink – go to the bathroom is legit, but at what point should they be booted 10 mins? The timers seem longer than that, but it admit I never actually timed it myself…..
Wow. Where do you play that you get queues? I am in T1 and we rarely see more than 1 map queued during NA prime during the week. Reset night is different of course.

I thought you can only join team Q with a 2 or more members… I also thought team Q was for hardcore/good pvpers so I’ve been refraining from going solo. I only go there when I have full party of guild members.

The only change that I want to see with death blossom is to remove it from D/D.
I don’t understand is causing a delay with improving matchmaking. I’ll give you two easy fixes if you are working on a longer solution.
Easy fix 1:
In team queue, do not match a premade team with a group of PUGs. It is boring. Unless the people on the premade are really bad, they should win every time.
Easy fix 2:
In solo queue, do not just average mmr to try to get fair matches. That does not work. Instead only allow people of similar MMR to play together.
There. Easy.
Ranger are finally useful in hotjoin while still being bad in tournaments.

Power ranger is no longer power ranger, it is machine-gun ranger. He kills a player extremely fast, from range (aka distance), so fast the target can not reach him. That is why so many people (aka customers) complain and consider it overpowered (or unbalanced).

As for my own thoughts, I have said previously that I wanted to see longbow buffed. ANET went about it the wrong way though.
Thieves in general are not in a great place right now. I think there will still be some on teams, but they no longer have a specific role that another class cannot do better.
I think the previous achievements were way too much grinding. The new achievements are close to the same as not even having achievements.
A better solution is something in the middle. 25 events each week would be a good middle ground.
Edit: I am not a fan of forcing people to do certain events. That’s why I’d much rather have a number of events to complete.

Also, Huge side note: It was really fun to watch the Dev that was streaming following CERN ……. The rage was high with BG’s GOF and JINX running you over, but it was all fun ? I hope to see more Dev’s involved in aspects of the game, and experiencing out pain, when you fail to get it right again…….

Better fights in EotM. Loot doesn’t really matter.

The reality is that people go to EotM for one of 3 reasons:
1. Karma train
2. Level an alt
3. Waiting for a queue to pop
Few people go to EotM for fights. There is no skill required in killing a bunch of uplevels/karma trainers.

Large battles are all about, who has the most signets on and press skills before skill lag. 15 servers just example. Can do 30. Just something to solve this stacking etc etc
What? That is certainly not true for everyone or even most. Now if you are playing from a MacBook pro or something, then your point is fair about lag.
They said a server will not see another server more than twice during the tournament. The reality will likely be something different though.

Actually it will work fine. 1st week is by tiers the other three weeks are different combinations of one match with a t1 server and two from T2, while the other match is two T1 servers and one T2. Each possible variation will occur, which is probably why the season is only 4 weeks because a repeat would have to happen after that.
I don’t know about EU, but the only outcome in doubt in NA is the possibility of YB and CD beating each other In Different matchups which will result in a tie.Either way, I think we can safely crown the likely winners in 7 days.
Swiss style and what you describe are not the same. I find in incredibly unlikely that FA and Mag will only see each other twice.

Fear not! The ANET development cycle is long with rigorous testing. Removing skyhammer from solo queue and adding a bank to the mists is so much harder than you might imagine.

Pretty much agree with everything except warriors. That said, I do believe that warriors should not have had their GS adjusted and I don’t think the adrenaline changes were needed. Warriors need one change and that is when under the effects of endure pain (utility or trait), they should not be able to contest or capture a point.

The game will never be balanced as long as the balance team keeps the same methodology. They wait 5-6 months and then release a ton of changes. All that does it change one OP spec to another.
If they want to do it right, they need to act more like an esport. Release balance updates more frequently, and tweak the broken specs. Broken is defined by being OP, or by being used by virtually no one.
im pretty sure the winners are guardians. WTF is with the stealth retal buff? Bad for the game. Retaliation hitting for 350? These are power guardians mind you, not ones whove invested in the condi retal gm trait.

Necro is in a good place right now. I spent a good amount of time playing it in PvP yesterday, and it stacks up well so far.
I’ve said this before, but the biggest thing holding this game back is the balance team. They need to start releasing smaller incremental improvements. That’s the way an esports game is balanced.
Instead the ANET approach is to massively change the meta every 5-6 months. That just creates a whole new series of OP specs. Good for job security? yes. Good for esports or a balanced game? No.
I posted the other day some suggested changes to how stances work. It would for the most part solve this problem since the ACTUAL problem is the trait Defy Pain PLUS Endure Pain. Just having EP is not that big of a deal. What is is having a trait that auto pops when you need it most. I dislike ALL traits like that. I don’t normally get on the “hurr hurr passive r bad” but that is serriously the most forgiving thing in the game. In a close fight it’s the one thing that will allow some Warriors to survive.
I’m in agreement. A “double” endure pain is even worse. In most game modes, I am fine that the double exists. I just don’t think they should be able to hold or cap a point when under its effects.

Seriously though…it’s a bit early to start the rage.
No it’s not. Spend an hour in sPvP and you can clearly see how blatantly overpowered and game-breaking ranger longbow and greatsword are.
My friend and I played for a few hours last night. It feels like a third person shooter with all the rangers. If you can’t avoid the Rapid Fire for whatever reason (like if their pet CC’ed you), you’re dead. It’s not some well-executed skill chain; it’s one button at 1200 range. If you aren’t dead from Rapid Fire, it’s okay, they’ll just auto-attack a couple times and finish you off. Or better yet, if you’re anywhere near melee, you’ll be hit with Maul for thousands of damage.
The only saving grace is that most rangers are people who never played the profession before and have no clue what to do when you avoid Rapid Fire and attack back.
Try to defend it; you can’t. Rapid Fire is more damage than 100blades ever was, in less time, at 1200 range. Sure, skilled players can avoid it 1v1, but the average player is going to be completely frustrated by it. And even skilled players will fall victim to it in group fights.

and often times people are correct. If you’ve played for a while, you’ll remember thieves at launch, D/D ele, spirit ranger, mm necro, hambow, decap engi, and turret engi all having issues at some point. The end result? All those got nerfed at some point (except turret engi which keeps getting buffed)
The shift away from thieves from tournament teams began several months ago. They no longer play a role that other classes can’t do better. This patch makes them even less valuable.
That said, you’ll still see some thieves in tournaments. The most skilled of thieves will still be valuable to the team. It is just that they will overcome the limitations of the class. There is no easy mode spec.
Ranger is only Easy mode for those of us that learn’t to use dodges and evades as a life line because without those pre-patch a ranger is dead , regen or not.
easy mode you say it was one of the hardest classes to use because of it being underpowered and heavy reliance on evades to survive.
now we have SotF and signets baseline its much more balanced out of using the classic Power/condi Evade+dodge bunker.
This always makes me laugh. Every time a spec is OP, the OP class always says to dodge.
