EotM is filled with a lot of PvE type people who are looking for a good karma train. It is currently the best spot in the game for that.

but why? this isn’t some low budget random F2P, this is Guildwars 2!
a game under the wing of NCsoft, who could be seen as MMO gods.
up there with the likes of Blizzard and old SoE back in the Everquest days.

this game sold over a million copies before it was even released,
how on earth do we end up with only 1-2 devs less than 2 years after release?…

Or maybe there are more than the 1 dev and they just sit around playing ping pong all day.

I think the Queing system need rework.

After the Solo Q notice is up, you have 30 seconds period to decide whether you’ll participate or not. If you decide not to participate, the que will go directly down to next player. The game debriefing timer will start counting once there’re 10 people who decide to participate.

That way, trollers who enjoy trolling people in skyhammer will get along together, having 10 dedicated trollers trolling each other, while the rest of the community can get away this crap and have some real PVP elsewhere.

Remove gimmicks and give us more simple maps. There is a reason why the new maps are not liked as much as the older ones… the new maps are gimmicky.

Simple solution: If a queue with skyhammer pops, log out of the game and come back 15 minutes later. That’s the only way ANET will get the message.

You can’t have an esport in a game where there is no balance team. Look at the popular esports like LoL. Compare how often they do balance updates vs this game.

If ANET ever wants this to be an esport, they need to do 2 things:
1. Hire a balance team. No, tool tips do not count
2. Get more involved publicizing tournaments and in different tiers. That will help build the PvP population.

AI builds definitely need more of a nerf. In particular turret engis. That is currently OP. Necro MM could use a slight reduction. Spirit rangers seem ok, although if they took a nerf, I wouldn’t complain.

It is a good map for hot join. It is horrible for solo queue though. Since I could care less about leaderboards and all of that, I have a new approach to skyhammer…. If the queue pops, and it says skyhammer, I just log off and do something else.

Games should be fun. This map isn’t balanced well, so I have no interest in playing it.

There are so many variables that you have to consider when it comes to balance (especially in this game/the conquest game mode) before saying that something that can sit on a point and deal damage is “unbalanced”.

There’s power damage, condi damage, burst damage, ranged damage, melee damage, AoE Damage, direct support, hard cc, soft cc, mobility, sustain through healing, sustain through toughness/vitality, condition volume, condition cleanse, condition application rate, invuln periods (which count as sustain in a way), stealth, EVADES, etc etc etc etc.

When you talk about class balance within the conquest game mode you have to consider the number variables/assets/detriments existing within each class/build and how they can lead to a teams ultimate success or downfall. Also, you have to consider how much counter play there are to these abilities/features and form and argument about how it could be changed to better improve the game.

Seriously… Think hard, play pvp ALOT, and form a legitimate argument before coming on the forums and crying about game balance. The majority of what is said/discussed hear is mind bogglingly boring, useless, and non-insightful.

Seriously, don’t come on here and criticize others when you play a warrior. Obviously you aren’t going to have a problem with balance. We get it. Warriors think their class is completely balanced.

No offense but you have spent way too much time supporting a company that doesn’t really give a rat’s behind about spvp. A couple of devs caring does not equal a company caring. To be honest these tournaments and this all-star nonsense is insulting to me as someone that just wants them to, you know, actually balance the game and add features they have been promising us forver like meaningful ladders and seasons and real pvp rewards and different game modes. Its like bread and circuses and in ancient Rome. I honestly feel like a lot of you should be embarrassed with your lemming like devotion to this game. Believe it or not blind loyalty doesn’t get results. Not playing the game in large numbers is what gets results although in this case I am not even sure that would as they are raking in the $$$$$ from pve and wvwvw.

WvW is the only thing that gets updated the same amount as PvP. All WvW has received is an EotM map which is more PvE than anything.

GW2 is, and always has been, focused on PvE.

Unfortunately, PvP in this game is fun to play, but it is really boring to watch.

And GvG is more fun to watch? It’s 40 people running around with their heads cut off while spamming abilities with no clue of what it’s actually doing. It’s very easy to do because if you are a bad player and mess up, no one notices because there’s 19 other people on your team that can make up for your mistakes. In sPvP, it’s very punishing if you mess up because it’s a lot more difficult to make up for your mistakes.

You missed the point of this whole thread, which is that PvP does not attract viewers. If ToL didn’t have such great giftaways, do you think anyone would be watching? It likely wouldn’t be over 300.

A 1 up 1 down system would see BG rotate out more often than TC, just by last month’s results and as such, would affect(positively or negatively) us more than you. It would also make population adjustments rather painful.

I’m not really that upset about the 2v1, made over 300g during the last 2 T1 matchups in s2 and made BG stronger as a community because of it, which is part of the reason we’re still getting tons of transfers(individuals as well as guilds) even though we have mostly come 3rd in the matchup.

I wouldn’t have a problem with BG rotating more than TC. I would just like to face different servers every once in awhile.

I said you were salty about the 2v1 because every time TC is mentioned, either on this forum or the other (maybe both), you bring up the 2v1. And I figured you guys were coming in 3rd because you simply weren’t trying? TC has never had a larger population than BG.

The 2v1 changed T1 dynamics and directly resulted in what’s going on now and is relevant to this discussion from the point of view of TC. A lot of players on TC left specifically due to the 2v1, many of whom landed on BG, resulting in the current climate in T1 of TC and BG dodging (or farming if the numbers are there) JQ map blobs and fighting each other, resulting in a continuing(soft) 2v1 on BG and the perception that TC is still stronger than BG

If you think there is any type of 2v1 going on right now, you haven’t played since the season.

The change in T1 is that a lot of people left. WvW hasn’t changed much at all in a year and people are just bored. The population of T1 right now is equal to T3 a year ago.

Tbh Blackgate during season 2 wasn’t overly that bad, in comparison. I mean of course they knew coverage would allow them to win in match ups a T2 servers, so they got into it more so for the fights, at least a good portion of them.

As for the op, I hate to say it but it sounds like ‘were not wining at all so we don’t belong here’. You seriously think any T2 server would fair any better or want to be there? Or even down in T3?

There is nothing wrong with playing turret engi. ANET put it in the position that it is in. That said, just don’t complain when it gets nerfed and you are no longer as good as you are now. Just ask spirit rangers and S/P thieves, the last two OP specs.

I don’t think you understand the point of hot join. People can come and go as they please. Most people who hot join are in one of 3 categories:

1. New players
2. Experienced player trying a new class or a new spec
3. Someone who is waiting for a queue to pop

There are not a lot who go to hot join with the main purpose to win.

Hello kind community,

Today we will talk about s/d thief, the most op and skill less build in this game.
Perma dodge, 8k insta bursts (with air/fire procs) and barely anything that can kill it in a teamfight.
Is this balanced? No it’s not, thief is supposed to be a class with the highest mobility/single target dmg in the game but with low survivability except for stealth, right now it is the class with the highest single target dmg, the highest moblity BUT a very high survivability that is gamebreaking.
Dear anet, I ask you to nerf s/d thief survivability or thief survivability in general. How about rebalance the 2nd minor trait in acrobatics, maybe give it a 5 second cooldown? Maybe nerf initiative, everyone knows initiative is insanely broken since the increase and you now almost always have the initiative that you need. Maybe nerf trickery a bit? It’s not normal that every build requires this trait line, but how will this affect other builds? I don’t want thief to become unviable nor certain builds to get unplayable but s/d thief is atm by far the strongest build in the game and it needs a nerf.

Also I don’t enjoy getting destroyed by them as a mesmer.

BG and TC both have some very good roamers, just be prepared because T1 roamers are a whole new ballgame compared to T2.

Look up [OPP] on BG or my guild [FLOT] on TC all good people.

“Roamers” in T1 are small havoc teams running around. They are quite good at using synergies between classes.

Lower tiers are 1 or 2 people running around looking for fights.

If you want to win solo queue, Just roll a turret engi. Takes no skill and still does extremely well. I like to play it while I am catching up on emails and texts. Sometimes I go grab a snack mid match. It is way more effective than the last no skill setup, the spirit ranger (before the nerf).

Now, no more complaints about how solo queue is random. Just play the build above and you will be set.
