In WoW
Way back in 2006 or so… Warlocks had to coordinate which warlock applied which DoT to the mob because the mob would not hold more then one of each DoT.

Also back in the dark ages of 2007 or so… WoW only allowed 12 negative conditions on a mob. So Warlocks (as the primary DoT class) were screwed.

WoW fixed this in 2008!!

Guild Wars encourages build diversity.
Guild Wars allows every profession to apply DoTs.
Guild Wars points certain professions towards DoT focused builds.
Guild Wars is an MMO (and encourages multi-player much better than previous MMOs).
Guild Wars punishes characters relying on their DoTs when they play with other people!!

Ulari

people have made snide remarks about Anet hating condition builds well they must not care at the very least with the way they treat this thing seriously.

but then again look at their track history for even their own version of the trinity. It doesn’t exist. might as well not have CC and healing skills much less the condition builds available if you’re not going to allow these mechanics to be used properly in your game right?

I could see the excuses holding up in court if other game titles didn’t already fix this problem years ago, once again history proves that a problem they are sitting on is already solved but still hasn’t been patched. Like the pet problems in this game, already solved long ago in multiple game titles still aren’t fixed in GW2 and it’s already been the anniversary.

Does playing a Prof. change item drop rates?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: tigirius.9014

tigirius.9014

I’ve heard a theory that people have gone thru and created multiple toons before getting one that has a hidden drop rate luck increase before playing the game (creating about 25 toons before hitting that one that has the luck rating) and on these toons they were one of the few that received multiple precursors so it might actually hold some water.

but class I don’t think matters.

they could easily change this to 10 per person and still have plenty of bandwidth I’m sure. Besides the fact is that other games have allowed a per person stack in games where hybrid classes exist, Rift comes to mind immediately.

Yes and no . Complaining for complaint sake is pointless and achieves nothing . Constructive criticism is another story . Unfortunately constructive criticism is the exception not the rule on this forum

While I see your point, I’d argue that blindly praising the game for the sake of praising it is equally worthless, and achieves an equal amount of nothing. It provides absolutely no constructive feedback to let ANet know what, specifically, they are doing right.

Non-constructive praise isn’t any more worthwhile than non-constructive criticism.

Nonconstructive praise is about as useful as yet another dungeon path for a supposedly open world focused content patch called LS.

Is Anet afraid of expansion not selling?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: tigirius.9014

tigirius.9014

I haven’t done any LS and will never do.

I certainly am not going to do this one, it’s an insult to us all the way they made it. Plenty of people were running the previous dungeons they didn’t need to put the items in this dungeon for people to notice it and they are still ignoring a large portion of the populus who bought their original game, open worlders who never wanted to set foot into a dungeon again. Maybe their expansion has too many new dungeons and not enough open world stuff, so yeah more of the same.

They could easily do a trinity lite with their design (OP called it Trinity Soft) they have to tools at their disposal all they’d have to do is tweak a few defensive traits in the trait line and improve healing scaling on all of the healing skills on every class that could heal by 3-4x what it is now add a threat mechanic and voila! a trinity lite is born! It wouldn’t impact PVP either because most pvpers use condition damage from what I’m seeing since toughness makes it harder for bursters to do anything meaningful in PVP.

So it’s really a simple thing for them to fix in this game and the lite part just means they wouldn’t have to require anyone to actually be in a trinity group but when one is in a trinity group it’s easy to see that there are plenty of benefits.

Flamethrower is still not worth the slot

in Engineer

Posted by: tigirius.9014

tigirius.9014

Flamethrower works and is quite effective, you guys just want to see big numbers all the time.

Not in every aspect of the game even Vent should have an upgrade last longer affect more enemies and be an AOE zone.

In PVE even with zerker gear on the damage on FT is negligible at best compared to other classes, AND they could make it actually burn people (on the first and last clicks) and they could definitely finally fix the problems with cone attacks STILL missing (sure it’s less noticeable but it’s definitely there still to this day!)

PVE needs the most help imo because of the nerfs to the class that they did long before started the PVE PVP separation patches, they still haven’t fixed everything they did when the game first began, before fractals.

The Current Trait System

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

tigirius.9014

So many traits feel like +10% sword damage when wielding a bow.

They do and it’s even worse to have +% for underwater weapons that AREN’T Attached to anything else?!?! or aren’t automatically attached to those mini +5 trait points in a line, the ones you can’t choose you know? So basically they either need an underwater trait UI window that auto changes for you when you swim, or they need to change the entire trait system to allow for underwater traits to be attached to the other traits you choose for land.

Missed another one. Restricting loot like they did. It’s one thing to make sure the economy is stable (LOL @ because he knows even as he writes this some idiot will actually claim it’s fine with items that shouldn’t be rare are marked up 450%) it’s entirely another to cut off players from loot using age old fail methods like DR the system that destroyed game after game until those more experienced developers found better easier ways of stopping bots without harming the playerbase.

Balance Team: Please Fix Mine Toolbelt Positioning!

What would you do concerning loot and rares?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

tigirius.9014

I’d say that two major things they could do to improve the overall game is eliminate RNG entirely and remove DR from the open world.

I will now address the problems with your idea.

1) Eliminating RNG means you also eliminate the rarity system. This kill the game, as once you provide a guaranteed way to get something, there’s no further need to do the content over. Then a short while later, all players will have the same items, and completely run out of things to do.

2) Removing DR hurts the economy. Certain players would benefit from continuous runs, allowing them unlimited income potential. Other players with limited time can’t complete, thus a huge wealth gap is created. The players that can afford to play more will have more available money, and will then control the Open Market. Inflation will be rapid, and all casual type players will hurt more.

Both these ideas are bad for the game, and will never happen.

Actually no. There’s a game I’m playing right now that doesn’t use the RNG system like this game does, but still manages to make the game interesting and fun and not a grind to upgrade your gear. It has a 1 hour timer sale on it’s vendors in which you have to have a sizeable amount of the currency (equivalent to this game’s karma) in order to purchase the said item. The sales people are spread out across the map and the items bought cannot be sold. They are high quality special weapons with great damage. So you see you can have a better system then the 1999 version of RNG that this title uses and keep the game honest and fun while eliminating the grind or the chance to get 0.

DR is no longer necessary as bots have resorted to farming nodes. Removing DR wouldn’t harm the economy now that they’ve made proper changes to how MF works and how MF can be accumulated. You either have to craft to death and salvage everything or collect lots and lost of green blue items and salvage those to get enough of the material to max your MF in order to do anything with drops now and most bots aren’t going to bother really. Combine this with the fact that they have nerfed the dungeons loot recently as evident by the complaints I’ve been reading both in forums and in game in map chat and there’s no real problem.

And Finally, it would benefit the players to remove the DR because DR combined with the ongoing lopsided loot algorithm would pretty much ensure that players who were and are cutoff from the loot that those who don’t have this bug with their account would once again get loot properly again. This market has already been plagued by players who had entirely too much control simply from the methods they used in the loot system in the first place that allowed only certain players the ability to gather together multiple precursors during certain events and the costs of the items is growing with DR in place, making items MORE available would even the playing field and allow certain items to come back DOWN in price not the other way around.

What would you do concerning loot and rares?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: tigirius.9014

tigirius.9014

Well let me stop you right there and say, no they didn’t make it hassle free in this game. First, they messed with the drop rates and originally many people discovered thru their everyday dealings with the game that suddenly only certain players were getting everything while others who had a general hold on great drops were getting nothing. That I would say is a big fallacy right there. Then came DR which cuts you off artificially from actually getting higher end loot from mobs. Blaming it on the bots (which we haven’t seen in about a year coming up in a couple of months according to the posts talking about how they are gone in the forums) it went against everything other mmo’s have already experienced. History shows us that every small time mmo that’s used DR on loot has crashed and burned losing almost all of their players overnight, and those larger ones that were sub based lost most of their customers and were forced to instantly work on removing DR and finding better ways of eliminating the bots and gold sellers.

So please don’t give the naysayers anymore fuel this game’s loot is far from typical.

Now with that in mind, I’d say they did great with the handling of the nodes and with the system they use for how loot drops per person in a group. There are no rolls to see who gets what and that eliminates alot of the problems, they also made it so that drops aren’t necessary from bosses alone, they started off the game great with exotics sold by npcs for karma that you had to work together to even get to in the beginning this prevented people from having to run dungeons a million times for a single piece to drop or worry about gear thieves who ran off with pieces their class couldn’t even use.

I’d say that two major things they could do to improve the overall game is eliminate RNG entirely and remove DR from the open world. That would be the best things because they’ve already established a system that takes a while to build to get the better drops from mobs on their newest version of the magic find, and eliminating RNG would allow a much easier better time in the mystic forge for creating items from certain quality items (which they already control without it coming out with duds, especially when trying to create precursors), DR could be eliminated because it’s no longer necessary since the bots have resorted to gathering from nodes for their money because rare and exotic drops actually don’t produce that much gold now.

Is Guild Wars 2 Alt Friendly or Not?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

tigirius.9014

People can try to argue back and forth objectively about the answer to the OP question.

Personally, though, I can report that as a 10 to 15 hour a week player I felt like I could maintain multiple characters up until recently. I have one character of each profession. Four in full exotic/ascended jewelry, two in their sixties, one twenty-something, and one below ten (hello, Ranger). I had every intent to level and gear up all 8.

Recently, I’ve gotten my weaponsmithing to 450, and have confirmed for myself that I now need to decide on one character to play, possibly two. That is all I feel the game affords me with the amount of time I play.

Wish I hadn’t spent gems on that last character slot (sorry, ranger).

Edit: Just to acknowledge something done right for those of us who like to play more than one character, the account wallet was a great addition. Too bad it became fairly meaningless now that I feel the need to stick to one (possibly two) toons.

My limit has always been three because I play as much as you do but ascended is out of the question for me entirely because of the massive amount of time it would take to get maxed on the 3 types of weaponry I use and on top of it all the fact that all three of these toons use not just 1 but multiple weapons per set. I use 3 on my thief, 5 on my guardian and 2 on my engineer, just feel the pain of the grind in that sentence alone, can only imagine what the armor crafting will be like when that hits.

I don’t like the rotation the way it is implemented. I haven’t played a minigame since they did this, which makes me sad.

To give incentive to play specific minigames, why not giving increased rewards for winning to a specific game on a certain day. E.g. Monday you’ll get better rewards for playing Southsun Survival while you still can play any other minigame.

It’s all part of their “Play the way you want” system, you know the one, where you have two choices, you could login and do only the things they want you to do as evident by their very limited reward system, OR do what some people with the argument of “you don’t HAVE to do those things to enjoy the game” do and just login and stand there staring at the grass each day.

They already said that likely candidates for playable races are Heket, Tengu, or Kodan. Skritt, Quaggan, and Grawl are likely never going to be playable if you ask me. Also from what I recall they said if they even do another profession it’ll be WAYYY down the road and likely another soldier profession.

Yeah well some things. 1 they already have a third soldier profession they just have to start treating it like one and finally at long last call it what it is and give it heavy armor, engineer. 2 I agree it’s definitely going to be WAY far away considering its just been the anniversary and they are STILL fixing things in balance patches from beta. and finally, I doubt very much it will be another caster they have plenty of those already op hopefully tho it will be a new pet heavy class so when they create it they’ll be forced to finally and at long last fix the problems with Pet AI stupidity, AOE vulnerability, and damage ratios all around once and for all! that’s what I’m hoping.

Rift’s trait(/skillpoint?) system

Forgot entirely about Rift’s post max level advancement called Planar Attunement was brilliant because you could improve your character’s stats increase your movement speed, damage, crit etc all with post max level skill points from secondary leveling. This game is in such need of that simply from the WvW standpoint it would give players who don’t want to fiddle with the whole ascended gear fiasco the chance to build that extra 10% in stats from leveling process in open world events AND it would be a simple thing for Anet to allow the Ascended gear to turn off those extra benefits if equipped so people couldn’t have both the 10% from ascended and the 10% enhancements from a fully specced secondary score building system like Planar Attunement.

I never played it so I have no reference.

Players could build their own cities, with ranks according to population. There was a “politician” profession where you could become a mayor at the highest rank (profession points were refundable in this game, so one toon could be anything, but had limited points to spend. Which was good because you only got one toon per server).

Best part though, was that players could build bases in or around their cities that could be attacked and destroyed by enemies. So if you were Rebel, Imperials could come and destroy your base and vice versa. It was a real motivator for guilds and alliances to plan offense and defense. The open world battles would last hours on end.

And yes, there was GvG in SWG

Forgot about that in my list AoC had a really awesome guild city system!

The condition damage handling, the rewards for long time players, the shop items, group handling, autogroup for events, mobile games and lottery, housing is fantastic in Rift.

The leveling (skill based), the rewards for doing events, the rewards based solely on currencies that are obtainable from simple gameplay, events don’t require that WoW-esc dance maneuvers seen in Teq recent changes on this game and yet remain challenging and fun without them, abundant in game cosmetics without the need to spend a dime, weekend event bonuses on loot, ample story to make the game in depth and brings you into the world immersion, balance for the types of weapons you use (ie if you use a flame thrower, bombs, grenades etc things die quickly in PVE there isn’t a guy with a sword killing things faster than you do) all from Defiance.

Trinity lite where every gamer has to make sure they stay alive however when a group has a tank and healer it enhances their performance and makes the events a bit easier. Neverwinter

Yep. Condition builds own PvP.

Time to start, I dunno, trying different builds or something instead of hoping for condition damage build to be viable across the board no matter what situation. I can tell you my healing/boon dur guardian would get owned in PvP and doesn’t cut it in Teq fight compared to Zerk. You don’t hear me whining about it.

Again, it’s not whining to be consciencious paying customers who expect what’s advertised to be exactly what you get in the product.

The problems with their combat system are numerous, pet AI stupidity, lack of even the Anet trinity, pet weakness and instakills, really poor scaling for support, boss immunities to CC but no CD immunities to CC in PVP or PVE once stunned, max stacking in condi builds, no scaling in some of the conditions, no real damage bursts when conditions actually crit on a tick especially in PVE… the list is long. All we’re asking for is that the product match the advertising.

Lessons for Anet

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

tigirius.9014

Stopped it at 0:35 because they said something that I think Anet has been missing all along. “First, let’s look at the history” patch after patch seems to be missing this very essential system of checking the development history of major mmos. In every other industry every corporation checks what other corporations are doing, their policies their procedures and how they are viewed by the public and then they incorporate those procedures and policies into their design of their products. That doesn’t happen in this title. It’s like not only have they thrown out the book on what features should be standard in every mmo but they don’t even go back and check what standards of operations have completely destroyed entire games in the past. A great example of this is using DR on loot/coins/rewards in the game as a means to control their economy while simultaneously blaming using DR on the population of the game because of bots. If you’re an old gamer like me who’s been around for a time, you too would remember how developers tried this in the past and even shut down whole companies because back then fewer people would just stay and throw money for junk.

Condition Catastrophe

tigirius.9014

The thread in the Tequatl Rising forum on conditions will disappear soon but as it raises issues pertinent to the rest of the game I felt it worthwhile linking to it (and possibly continuing the discussion) here.

In short, the way in which conditions are treated within the game mean that condition builds become less desirable the more characters are present. In boss fights (or fights against structures) condition builds become largely redundant. Isn’t it time that this shortcoming was moved to the top of the “things we need to fix” list?

It’s overdue it’s way past time but the ADHD manager over there with the calendar of things to be fixed in this game seems to think that hairstyles and fixing salads are more important. Seriously we’ve all been talking about this since head start!

Not surprised in the slightest. We also get instead of dual spec or even a spec for underwater combat a respec token that costs WAY more even on the worst exchange days for on the fly respecing? Really? Really now?

I’ve said it before I think they have someone with serious ADHD or Sensory Processing Disorder over there with the calendar in their grasp making the list of priorities on which items should be fixed first because it’s seriously disorganized and ignores large chunks of problems still around from the 1st beta.

As far as models go for the best shop, SWTOR is a complete joke, the best one thus far is Rift’s model. It’s got the best of everything free stuff is always useful and a rewards system for longtime players that actually rewards you.

Unfortunately history shows us that they will indeed buy them which will send a false sense of right to the devs.

It makes me sad that people would throw away money instead of demanding that the game actually have one of the most basic UI elements found in most other modern mmos in any monetization market.

I mean they don’t even have a second spec that auto activates when you jump in the water yet the skills for enhancing water style combat and their weapons are completely different than those for land weapons!

Amazes me how many people are just so complacent with them yet again not putting something into the game ui that is a standard feature in most other titles and which exists in every F2P game I’ve ever played but instead is using it as another means to nickle and dime the public.

Apparently they haven’t listened to the community when it comes to temporary content and what one must do in order to achieve the items that one would like. First last LS patch they decided to make the Aether armor all store bought when the community has been crying out for more available in game only cosmetic armors. (including the request to add multiple armorsets and change the racial armors to cost karma like they did the weapons).

Now they’ve fixed the issues with the sylvari when the Charr players have been having really noticeable problems with clipping and armor pieces that float off of our setup not to mention the engineers and their hobo backpacks.

And now instead of completing 14 obtainable achievements by the players to get the backpack we actually must successfully run the temporary dungeon in order to see it as a drop? (when according to many of us on the forums we didn’t want new temporary dungeons much less dungeons at all and very much less to have any rewards specifically tied to those dungeons) Whatever happened to finding these items in boxes that drop from the open world events?

Guess they don’t want certain types of players to play their game after all. The poster of that question got his answer.

Edit: I’ll admit I expected the dungeon to be temporary but they did not list any items on their patch notes to be outside of the dungeon, only pieces of keys to be put together and open hidden chests in the dungeon path that is nowhere near what they did the one time they actually had items in boxes in my experience which was during the Dragon celebration.

Instant Trait Reset Item!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

tigirius.9014

•The Instant Trait Reset item is now available in the Gem Store in the Consumable category for 70 gems each or 5 for 300 gems. Players can use this item anytime they are not in combat to instantly have all their trait points reset. This item is not usable in structured PvP.

We’ve been asking for it. It is here. Shame it’s a gem store item. Cheap enough to have a few but I don’t see people making a habit of them.

It IS a shame isn’kitten It’s also a shame we don’t have the basic dual spec feature that every other mmo out there has right now. Anything with a talent tree, a skill tree, or even a basic ability to spec into a specific role has dual spec right now. Talk about greed.

Trait Reset item should be infinite use

Yeah I saw this as a serious greed issue myself. It’s one thing to add a respect token but to not have the option to have dual spec when the rest of the mmo games out there have it as a basic feature it’s just wrong on so many levels.

Dual spec is necessary in every game. It’s ridiculous that their patch notes for today have an instant respec item that’s temporary and that only has 1 use per but they still haven’t joined the rest of the mmo genre with a multispec option and a ui to switch. Talk about only thinking about every dime and not the comfort of the playerbase!

Inconsistant condition damage

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

tigirius.9014

ANets development team isn’t the smartest, nor do they ever see issues that are inevitably going to arise.

Condition damage has been completely forgotten about in pve and no one knows why they used such terrible restrictive coding so we can only have 1 stack of 25 bleed.

Best bet is to just go raw damage.

It’s not that they aren’t smart enough to do it, it’s just that it would require the servers to do so much more work if you could have infinite stacks of anything on anything. MMO’s don’t really require much bandwidth, but when you have hundreds of thousands of players on simultaneously, all applying varying amounts of boons/conditions to other things, it already starts to take a toll on the servers and the connection. There’s already problems with skill lag in huge groups due to the servers not being able to keep up, and allowing easily dozens of times more conditions to be applied would absolutely destroy playability for large group events.

This excuse has already been disproven as a problem. Either someone over there doesn’t know how to setup servers or they made a very big booboo and won’t own up to it.

It’s been done countless times. Rift is a great example, almost every class has a DoT system in most of their builds each DoT is counted every time for every player. The only thing they did to streamline the process was allow the UI to hide the other players DoTs so that it wouldn’t overload the UI of the client. All of the DoTs are still there and have been the whole time this game’s been out all the way thru going F2P and it’s by no means the only one that’s done this.

They have forgotten that they told us the combat was going to be balanced and that each play style would be their own personal new trinity replacing that of the old. It still hasn’t happened and it’s been a year? something’s not right at this point.

Is it Fun? How ArenaNet Measures Success

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Hype, lies, whatever you wanna call it.

This part specifically makes me lol because this game is littered with daily crap.

I can’t tell you how many times I played Quest for Glory; the game didn’t give me 25 daily quests I needed to log in and do—I played it multiple times because it was fun!”

and

Can we focus our time on making meaningful and impactful content, rather than filler content meant to draw out the experience? Can we make something so much fun you might want to play it multiple times because it’s fun, rather than making you do it because the game says you have to?

No, apparently you cannot, ANet.

That’s what my thoughts are! Quit stealing my thoughts! LOL

Yeah it’s really bad. I went back to other titles that I was playing before because their system of advancement, their content patches, and their rewards systems are well established and improved upon other games (which is what I’d expected from this title) even tho they are F2P and B2P they and have slower output of content, when they do put out content it’s BIG filled with lots to do, permanent and it actually has great rewards. These other titles also have a section of their company that works directly with their dev teams that researches the history of the problems they face in their development for combat, rewards, etc and uses history in every patch to make sure they don’t make the same time-honored mistakes other companies made in the past (companies that usually went bankrupt because those mistakes were terribad btw!).

Have we become spoiled?

It’s not that there are few voices of reason to counter the trash talk, but few reasons.

If ANet paid attention to the constant gripes and change the game accordingly we wouldn’t see the same threads pop up 24/7 saying the same exact things.

There would just be new complaints is all. Seen it for 5+ years before on other games forums. no matter how great a game can be/gets someone will ALWAYS find a reason to complain.

Besides if Anet "changed the game accordingly " they could still not please everyone because it’s impossible. Some people like some things one way another group will like it the other way etc. Impossible.

If they changed the game accordingly apologized publically for not making the game the manifesto and the other numerous interviews that the devs put out and setup a non-grind system of advancement with only1 tier, then they’d actually get back the majority of the players they lost post November 2012 when people got tired of being hyped and not receiving what they were told they were going to get for their $60.

and if “all pets get immunity to AOE” they will be broken in half in any pvp wvw scenario.

If I recall correctly, every single MLG team in the sPvP tourney was running a spirit ranger. “Mediocre at best.”

Come up with a better solution.

Nope they won’t because they are already weak. The last pet to be weakened were the Rangers.

This is exactly beside the point however, because this kind of thing has been done countless times in other games as the fixall for the heavy pet class system and it works! They know it’s a problem and you guys blew up the forums when they talked about nerfing AOEs well something has to be done and giving pets a 90% immunity to AOE damage across the board has been tested before.

But I predict mind you that instead of actually looking at the development history of these systems they’ll continue to delay this mechanism and continue to have cookie cutter non-pet heavy builds for at least another year before someone actually looks at it and says “hey you know what? why don’t we do this? it’s been done before” and poof it will be finally done but it will most likely be too late because people will have moved on to something else most likely having been tired of waiting on something so simple.

If you mean experienced better systems of rewards from games that actually care whether they’re players are grinding for advancement or not then yes I have been spoiled by better systems better design.

Essentially what they’ve traded the loot problems people were having before with is not locked account bound items that you have to farm and craft to progress. It’s basically the same system but doesn’t require much gold in this new layout (unless you look into leveling your crafting both from 1-400 or 400-500 both are costly as heck!) so it’s really not an improvement they could have done better and there are better systems of advancement out there in the mmo genre that A: don’t affect the single currency exchange/auction house, and B: don’t get tangled up in the game’s shop but C: still allows for plenty of in game gameplay that’s fun and personalized so that you don’t actually grind because the drops are high enough to make a difference quickly most of the time.

Inconsistant condition damage

tigirius.9014

As I see the Mesmer’s Staff’s autoattack, burning deals 7 times more damage than bleeding. But if I try, I can manage 15+ stacks of bleeding onto a target.

Poison additionally lowers healing effects.

It’s kinda balanced imo. But stacking with multiple players is broken is all kinds anyways.

It is and it has been done before on other titles where the conditions are more evenly balanced as well as every condition was counted per attacker so not sure why they thought it was impossible to do.

This is whats wrong with the game (imo)

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

tigirius.9014

Totally agree. It’s actually been done by another gaming company who’s most recent title i’m playing right now. the gear isn’t time gated, they have periodic gear drop enhanced weekends, there are tons of what Arenanet would call meta events in this other title which give great drops, the ability to get great gear isn’t cutoff, and there aren’t multiple tiers that you have to grind for, and they have vendors that sell rare bop gear with special abilities on them periodically (1 hr) that you have to catch at the right time to see what they’ve got. The meta events are four types all challenging where you don’t need to know a dance to be effective.

Further, they added recently the ability to get what this game would call dungeon currency from these meta events so that no one need step into a dungeon to get the things they like.

So much better imo.

Inconsistant condition damage

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: tigirius.9014

tigirius.9014

So I put on my old exotic set recently because I wanted to see if there had been any changes in the backdrop of condition damage types and their damage ratios and I wanted to see if they could crit for anything significant.

Imagine my surprise when I learned thru tracking on my engineer that bleeding seems to be 5 times more powerful than any of the other condition damage forms. They’ve gotta know this is a problem because no all classes use bleeding and those that do have a max stack when fighting the same boss.

My question is why aren’t the other forms of condition damage more balanced to do closer to the max I’m seeing on the bleeds? Why aren’t burning/poison doing more to the enemy and leveling off the bleeding damage? Wouldn’t this effectively help with the problems that the condition damage builds have in PVE immediately if this were done?

Generally the conversation goes like this:

Friend: “What have they added since I left in May?”
Me: “Well, nothing that you can do.”
Friend: “What do you mean?”
Me: “Well, they added this, this, and this but they took it out of the game 2 weeks later. It’s part of their living story.”
Friend: “Seriously?”
Me: “Yeah”
Friend: “That’s the stupidest kitten thing I’ve ever heard!”
Me: “Yeah, I know.”

I wish I could upvote this to infinity.

Yep pretty much it. This was my conversation with one of my friends recently word for word almost exactly LOL smh.
