I doubt many will peruse the Terms of Service before naming a character. Regardless, the new policy is to allow ‘gross’ names. Done, and done.

A post or reddit does not change a policy. I said they are welcome to go by what is said on that reddit link but there is a chance a custom support agent may take action against the account and then they have to deal with the Hassel of getting it resolved. Once anet updates there legal naming policy then it’ll be a none issue.

That character would still be locked from playing or worse until it got reviewed. If naming their character that way is worth all that hassle then that is up to them.

Also it’s not an old policy it’s the current policy. It will become the old policy when it gets updated.

I would like to point out that just because the lead GM says it on reddit doesn’t make it law. If they don’t go through the steps to update the TOS they can still action on it as it is written in the TOS. Also with the any turnover in the CS department any newer people there will go by what is in the TOS when reviewing the case.

In any case, you should try not completely max out your HDD/SDD. A HDD needs space for a swap file, and SSD’s deteriorate in performance when completely full.

I think you read his post wrong. He has 91 gigs of free space so that is not the issue. What is a bit odd is the path that he lists is on the D : drive. I wonder if he has two hard drives and is trying to install it on to the wrong one.

Does anyone happen to know how to get more laurels apart from the waiting a month to get enough to purchase one ascended item from your account. I’d like to equip my characters with ascended accessories, rings and amulet but their is never enough for that and recipes for ascended armor, etc.

Use your laurels for the amulet
For rings you should be using pristine fractal relics.
For accessories you should be using guild comidations

Did you check that you typed all the letters correctly? Did you check if caps matter? Did try it with or without dashes?

Or did you just try once and jumped to the conclusion out of all the copies sold you got a fake code.

What would be more likely is a employee at the store opened it copied the key and then sealed it back up.

Unfortunately the listing fees are non refundable. You would of been better served just waiting for it to sell and using that money.

So you have a couple questions here. For the 180 turn there is an option under your keybind settings called about face. Set a key to that and your character will do and instant 180.

For the camera the default is the camera to follow behind you so that way you have a full view of what is ahead. If you want to have it so that you run towards the camera I believe you will want to check the free camera mode check box.

I think you miss read his op. He is giving away all three items. Basically a first,second, third prize. You don’t pay anything to enter. You just have to follow him.

One thing I notice is everyone that has posted here so far has listed a Norn story instance.

I got a reply to my ticket today that said it is a problem on their end and should be fixed soon, so there’s that at least.

It’s a problem on their end indeed, because even my friend has trouble continuing my story line – he has a human and no problems.

Got the same reply. It is a known issue and they are working on it. Hopefully the update on Tuesday will fix it.

When I try to enter the instance “Rumors of Trouble” my game crashes. So far I have tried changing between full screen and window mode, repairing the client, and restarting the PC.

Any other thoughts on how to access this story instance.

The Vale Guardian has been beaten with just 3 people, but that was before the last balance change.

It may not be done on purpose. Remember that there is a boost that drops a merchant when your inventory becomes full. All those chests in one spot is an easy way to trigger that merchant.

Why should there be a need to choose between them when they should both be worked on? F2P games can do both at the same time.

Someone already answered this above- they’re working on the next expansion, too. I think you’re grossly underestimating the amount of effort it takes to maintain a game, plus create new live content (not just the LS3 maps, but the smaller event chains and things they’ve added over the past few months) AND new content for an EP.

Plus, I think they’ve mentioned before that some of the season one stuff isn’t easy to bring up to the new code. I would give anything to have the PvP games from the first Halloween back, but it is what it is. I trust that they’re not withholding things from us because they’re mean or lazy.

I’m a programmer myself, so I can estimate with a certain accuracy how long something should take to develop. I don’t think I’m grossly underestimating the effort that it takes to do both at the same time.

Anet has previously mentioned that armor sets take about 8 months to develop, and that is very, very suspicious to me. It may be something that’s completely unique to GW2 that makes it difficult to develop items/quests/armor/etc., but it shouldn’t take a massive amount of effort to create new holiday events.

Incidentally, last patch seems to have changed something, and i keep being disconnected now after mere 5-10 minutes of inactivity. It seems that the short timeout for WvW maps has been restored, but at the same time the same timeout has been (accidentally?) pushed to pve as well.

Yep you can get the same stats as everyone else. You miss out on some different skins.

You should check out the two maps added with the living story. Bloodstone Fen does have a lot of vertical space but it is all open area. Ember bay is all flat for the majority of the map.

Unfortunately that culture gear is only rare stat. It has the high price tag for the skin.

You’ll want to start by getting your self lvl 80 exotic gear. This can be crafted, bought from various places(temples, TP,wvw vendor). For stats if your going direct damage you’ll want berserker which is power main and precision, ferocity minor.

You also have to look at your build. Are your traits more offensive or defensive. Usually you want to go as offensive as you can stay alive.

What class are you playing and what weapons are you using. Most weapons have a natural style to them. Some focus more on conditions vs direct damage. You’ll want to make sure the weapon you are using is a good match to your build.

A shortbow ranger using berserker gear would have lower damage because shortbow is a condition weapon for rangers

Greetings, I have 30,712 achievement points currently. I have used GW2 efficiency to determine that there are officially 231 achievement points left in the entire base game for me to get. I had missed 105 historical achievements that I can no longer get as they were retired. So, the bottom line is, with this cap level there are roughly 31K achievements that would could have ever even accomplished. We are 8K short of any ability to move to the coveted achievement based back piece. If the goal is to have a player do everything in the game I’m good with that. Done it. Increase the daily cap to 25K to allow players to move to it without waiting for new content. I for one can tell you that once I’ve finished these last 231. Why the control? If a player wants to have AP based play why can’t we have that. Even at the rate of daily AP it will take me 2 years to get to the back. I’m ok with that. Give me back the daily AP. Thanks

That is just the base game. What about AP from HoT and the living story?

I doubt it will ever be free. It may go on sale again. You are able to experience the story if you can find someone to go with you. You just won’t be able to get the achievements.

What ever you decide, you have till the 20th to get the LS3 ep 1 for free. I do believe that HoT is worth it since LS3 got here.

If you bought the vanilla you can still log in to unlock the LS3 episodes, so if you don’t want to buy now, at least log in to unlock it and when you want to play it, buy it.

Yep. If you login now you will unlock part 1 and then part 2 comes the 20th. You won’t be able to access it until you purchase HoT tho.

2nd skill is a double press skill. The first press lands you on your head and then the second press launches you to your target.

The reason f2p accounts get a free transfer when they upgrade us because when the f2p account is created they do not get to choose a home server.

It doesn’t appear that the game is kicking you for being AFK anymore. My charater sat motionless from 10:13 pm until 5:15 am in the new Bloodstone map and was never logged out. I’m going to try on a different map to see if is just the new map or all maps.

you can get them from other sources but these are the best place to get them from

When picking gear ascended gear is unique which means you can only have one of each equipped. They can have the same stats just have to be diffent names.

If you like grinding there is Bloodstone Fen were you can get ascended ring, amulet and back item.

Skills 1-5 are based off the weapon. You’ll find weapons have a disposition towards ether direct damage or condition damage. Your 6-10 skills are ones you get to choose usually. Now Revenant is a little different. His 6-10 skills are based off the legend you are channeling and all you can do is change the order.

Once you hit level ten you should of unlocked the first chapter of your personal story. A new chapter will be unlocked every 10 levels. The personal story will lead you through most of the core maps.

ok I’m a bit confused now. I had five originally (when I asked this question) . Inculpatus said you can buy 13 and along with the freebie that brings you up to 14. After Inculpatus answered my question, I was set to purchase 8 more (8+5 = 14) but could only purchase a set of 5 and two more (7). After the 7th the offer disappeared. So now I only have 13. I won’t lose sleep but there’s a disconnect here.

Do you own HoT. You only got the free one with the expansion.

I believe that the OP has a lot more than the 8 or so they were buying. The 1% loss from buying at 5.92 is more than made up in the volume of selling the rest of the inventory at 6.97.

Or he could just sell those items he bought for 5s98 at 7s05 and not have a loss on those

I don’t think it’s a bug. It’s just what someone listed them at and someone else lists more.

When you sell you can set any price you want. Just remember the lower ones go first.

Yeah, the wiki just says that Huntsman can USE bolts of damask in one recipe.

I guess then it’s misleading to me, which isn’t really the wiki’s fault — it’s ANet’s for putting the one cloth item into a huntsman recipe.

Actually it is a good thing. Most games with a strong crafting health have recipes which use items that are created by other disciplines. It is what gives items values and sets up trades between people’s.

To give crafted items value with our system they made them time gated.

Taking this into account it is possible to make a ‘loss’ when selling large numbers of separate items, if the total deductions are higher than the total profit received – which may not always be obvious unless you pre-calculate total income against total deductions.

Sell one item for 100 gold, deduct 15% for fees – sell a lot of other items for various amounts of silver/copper , deduct 15% from their total and you can easily end up with an overall ‘loss’ on the 100 gold item. By loss I mean receive a final total below what you expected (effectively wiping out the 100 gold items profit).

But you still had a 566 profit of all the small items sold.

Also that old post isn’t relevant anymore since items can no longer be listed lowered then the vendor price.

Account-wide recipes are a great thing. Finally, we don’t have to buy tons of recipes, or shuffle recipes around through the bank. However, there is one major issue: crafting leveling. Crafting leveling depends largely on crafting XP from discovery. Since recipes are now account wide, if you ever need to level a second character in a discipline, they cannot discover anything that you have ever crafted before. This can as much as double the amount of crafting that needs to be done to reach a level, and is especially painful in the 400-500 realm. There needs to be a mechanism for compensating for the crafting XP deficit that we now have.

The only recipes that are account wide are ones you consume so it will have no effect in the discovery tab for a new character.

if your worried about giving out any personal banking info you can always just go to a Walmart/Game store and buy a gem card
