If your talking about your #1 skill it’s default is set to auto cast so after you use an attack skill the #1 skill will continue to attack until the enemy is dead. Now you can set other skills to auto attack which might be what is happening in your case.

Which would you prefer? In maintenance mode as it is now or shutdown like City of Heroes was.

If you look out in front of me, you will see a couple sparkles (instapoof). That sparkle lasts maybe half a second. That is all I ever get, on every map. Even when on the map where everyone is waiting. I’ve seen the Dulfy screen that shows a nice red cloud and an animal underneath. I have never seen that. Just a fraction of a second poof.

That is during the half hour break when no creatures spawn.

From what am understanding you want content that isn’t trivialised by downleveled characters.

The misconception is that being 80 trivialises the content, but knowing the content and the class is actually what trivialises it. I can go with a level character with power gear and plow the content.
In open world you aren’t really going to find challenging content because it has to cater to the lowest denominator. Just look at all the complaints of difficulty when HoT dropped.

I believe you would find interest in at level dungeon runs. The difficulty is much harder then open world and you can control the level of who is there.

I agree with you. I also wish gw2 had a way to tell everyone in the party, squad, or open world event how they did at the end of completing something, and then shared that info for all to see. Lots of MMO’s do it. To me it just adds a bit of competitiveness to do your best while these different events are happening.

However, this idea has been brought up many times before. And most people don’t want it. They believe some players will abuse it, and use it as a way to justify kicking someone out of a group or point fingers at someone for holding the group back. On flip side, it’ll only encourage players to do better, or point out that a specific player is doing a great job and maybe even carrying the group.

So who is doing better? The one that did the most damage and at the top of the list or the one who had lower damage but also rezzed 20 people so they could continue appling damage during the fight.

It is for the collection but you have to double click on it after you buy it to unlock the collection. You can still buy it after unlocked but if you mouse over it should have the message “all ready unlocked”. Check that all your bags are expanded and it’s not hiding somewhere.

Has anyone else having weird issues while on this map? Twice today while on this map I’ve been suddenly moved to a completely different area of the map. One time was even into the wall.

In the attached picture I went to jump down to a platinum ore and then appeared in this cave.

If you have 0 charges you can do a quick map completion of a city for a free charge.

It may be you don’t like those classes. 7 months ago both those characters were level 14.

Coding may be tricky. Buffs my have to have a time limit and can not just be flagged as on or off.

Yep he is good to go. It will stay in that slot until he uses it no matter how many characters he has created.

They did make a free version of GW2, but it doesn’t have the same level of access as a paid account.

Sometimes I afk and my pet will protect my kitten in case some trash mob attacks me.

If you’re not in an area where mobs constantly spawn at, the chances are slim.

However, unless it’s an emergency that warrants you immediately leaving without doing anything, you can do things to ensure that you don’t get reported as potentially being a bot and then potentially banned for it:

1. Turn off autoloot in the options menu.
2. Waypointing to a city or other location that is widely known to not have enemies spawn (such as the waypoints near the map entrances/exits or dungeon entrances).
3. Exiting to the character select screen.
4. Shutting the game down.

3 & 4 are my favorite options as they are completely foolproof.

If it’s just a quick bathroom break, you’re likely not going to be found guilty of botting should anyone report you during your few minute break.

You could add going to the pvp area or guild hall. Both are free and let you return to the same spot in the open world.

Not sure what issues you had with the expansion, but I have enjoyed it for the most part. I’ve leveled my revalent to 80, unlocked the elite specs on all nine characters, help my guild unlock all the upgrades, unlocked all the bladed armor skin, and have all the Masters but two completed.

There is only two options. NA or EU. The servers for each area are in the the same location. To test the other region make a free account and put it on EU.

Vistas give out pretty decent XP so if you hit them while leveling you get that from them. If you complete everything on the map you get a chest with materials, gear and chance for a BL key. Also if you are planning to make a old legendary you need %100 map completion.

Hey guys, since I’m seeing this topic pop up a lot, I wanted to step in and clear up some misconceptions.

1. Nearly every player that voted, plays WvW at least somewhat regularly.

2. Whether they play 1 hour a week, or dozens of hours a week, the breakdown between people who voted ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ remains very constant around the 65/35 split.

3. The in-game poll notification mail is only sent to players who are actively playing WvW. They must be at least rank 10, and have ranked up while the poll was running.

I got an in game mail for a wvw poll. I very rarely do wvw and when I do it is just for a quick daily. I was in there a bit more but just because I was helping the guild collect those new potions for the up grade.

Before the linking you had almost no chance to get on that server and play with your guild. Now you have a chance if you want to pay for it.

Or you find a wvw guild on your server and make it grow to a T1

Well since you can log in to the forums you can log into the game. It’s the same login and password. You can correct the email address with a support request.

What stories missions do you feel are too long. IMO the length isn’t too bad with most ranging from 10 to maybe 20 minutes.

Not really a bug. The achievement has a cap on it. It can be done multiple times but after 250 times it no longer grants ap. You can hover over it with the mouse to get more info on it.

Servers really only matter for WvW guilds. As long as everyone is from the same region everything else can be done together.

It has passed almost three years and there are long-standing bugged events throughout our beloved Tyria. I can’t help but think you just don’t love the game core anymore… don’t you devs remember how you raised the events flag as THE game-selling feature? Events should be at the very least fixed. I was planning to create a topic to suggest expanding them, improving the current system and adding more to it, but how can that be possible if the base event chains are simply bugged?

Actually it’s worse than just being bugged, players have to pray to RNGsus that NPC’s don’t bug out and stop progress. Players do sometimes fear they’ll lose all their progress, be it instance events (dungeons anyone?) or open world events. It’s about time you fix your… events. We have to be extra cautious to get around them or we’ll be stuck and will have to redo from the start, or just give up on a chain event.

I see some GW1 bugs are now immortalized as development for that game has been halted so you could focus on GW2, but I didn’t want that development posture to revive here. You don’t just forget about an old event because you’re too focused on the next xpac, many players bought the core game and fell in love because of central Tyria no matter how hard you try to push new layouts. And that’s ok to be honest, just remember there are altoholics here that play the game multiple times and enjoy every time they play through a zone… only to find the same bugged events all over again.

This is frustrating, ArenaNet, I tell you. This is frustrating.

Then unfortunately you’ll have to re-buy them. All crafting is character bound not account bound.

For having no support in this game they seemed to get your problem solved pretty quickly.

Update: My girlfriend, sitting next to me on her 5 year old Mac laptop (graphics on low), using the same wireless connection is able to play on her account AND MINE with no issues. I switch over the my PC, an disconnects on my account AND HERS. We are sitting next to each other, using the same connection, at the same time. What does this mean? If the problem was the ISP or a “hop” shouldn’t she be experiencing the same issues?

Then it sounds like it may be your computer or for some unknown reason, your girlfriend’s Mac goes on a different route.

Because if it was on ANet’s side, everyone would be affected and there would be tons more threads on this issue.

Yeah it could be his onboard network card going bad or the cable that connects the computer to the router. Try swapping out the cable and use a different port on the router and see if that changes anything.

I do not play other character other than my main lv80, and only one lv80, the 2nd character I played since is the lion key run character. So it is not characters mess up.
There is no mention when using the boost on lv80 character you will not receive same items as new character, and this will be illogical too. I was keeping the armors weapons etc gears to test later because they are totally different stats and runes in it.

I haven’t used mine yet since I’m saving it just incase I feel a need for a new character.

Opening it on a level 80 character does give a warning in red that you will only receive these items and gear isn’t on that list.

1: You can transfer for free if you delete all your characters. After a transfer there is a 7 day cool down. I’m not sure if there is a cool down on account creation, but I don’t believe so.

2: as long as they are not soulbound she can put them in the bank and they will be safe to transfer to the new server

3: support does see the forums, but to get a surefire response you need to send in a ticket. In your case I think you can get your transfer done without involving CS.

If a level 80 consumes the boost item you do not receive any gear just the boost package.

What I could see happening is you did the trail on a different character and moved the gear to your bank. From there you used it on your main which then made the trial character revert back to his normal level and removed the gear which was placed in the bank.

The only way to get it back would be to upgrade the free account to paided. Even then it would take a little time before a new account could mail off 50 gold.

I’m quite happy with them being for the most part useless since they are a gem store only item. If they are taking up to much space you are welcome to delete them.

Free accounts can receive whatever. They just can’t mail stuff back. Free accounts can even join guilds for chatting or talk in party chat. They just can’t talk in map chat.

I am using my mesmer but some of the falls are instant death, especially once one gets past the split to the goggles. I would not be so irked if they would not disable the gliding so I can glide down slowly and not die and have to start from outside again. Thanks for the advice anyhow. Just going to plug away at it a few more times while calling ANET a lot of bad things while pushing needles in voodoo dolls of their game developers.

I did that one on my Mesmer aswell. Make sure you have decent into madness slotted and buy/craft some cheap armor and slot it with snowfall runes. 75% fall damage reduction will save you a lot. Before any tricky jump drop a portal. That way if you miss you can portal back up. Trait for alacrity so you can speed up the portals cool down

The only way I could see that happening is if they added a new race with a city, personal story, and differnt zones going all the way from 1 to 80

You will need 250 HP to fully unlock the elite spec which is just 25 hero challenges in HoT

And on the point of this thread, the point being are they allowed to do this – if the green light is lit for anybody to do this, then there will be an imbalance of the trading post economy, which does affect other players.

They aren’t allowed to do this (to afk farm)… it was clarified by the game support lead just a little ways up the thread on this page. AFK farming is against the rules.

If your pets are doing the killing and your mastery is doing the looting; you’re okay as far as GMs are concerned. This does not mean design can’t/won’t/should/shouldn’t update the system as it works today.

Of course people will always chime in that there are a whole 4 points more in central tyria than you need. Of course, that does not address that most likely you will have to grind content you do not like to get the number of points to max things as 4 points is not a lot of wiggle room.

Just remember mastery points are another attempt by ANet to force players to play the way ANet wants you to play, not the way YOU want to play.

How so? I spend a tiny number of hours doing various tasks, some of which sometimes introduce me to interesting stuff (lore, locations, game modes) and …then I’m done. The rest of the time, it’s up to me how I play.

And even then, mastery points are only as restrictive as earning hero points to max the elite specs (albeit with fewer options overall).

I don’t love the mastery system, but it’s hardly some sort of Orwellian reward tool. (INB4: I checked and no, they didn’t make me say that either.)

How so? – when you can only get Mastery Points for participating in very specific types of play, that is forcing you to play the way ANet wants. Unless you want to ignore all the character options purchased with MP (ignore most of the expansion I just purchased). I don’t do PvP, WvW, Fractals, Raids, or have lots of gold (just to name a few). As a dedicated PvE player, I am forced to do things I don’t like in order to participate in the MP system. There are literally no options to earn enough MP only doing the things I like.

Well you don’t do fractal so there is no reason to unlock those masteries. I don’t believe any mastery points are earned from wvw or spvp so your not missing any there. As a dedicated pve player you should have all the MP from the personal story, SW, DT and the Season 2 achievements which should be enough to unlock the core mastey lines that apply to you.
