Hi, i needed to re-install the gw2 client, and i cant get it to update fully, it stops at 99% with 1 file remaining, i have tried the following:

1) Change languages (tried all)
2) Deleting the .dat file (tried a few times)
3) Putting -repair in the properties of the shortcut and renaming the shortcut to Guild Wars 2 repair
4) leaving the game overnight to see maybe it will update

It’s been over 2 days of struggling and i have no idea what to do, i’v been playing since release and never had this problem.

What else can i do? ;_;

Just wondering, what kind on professions will fit the Tengu? what i mean is, for example for char it’s war/thief/engi, norn is ranger/warrior, asuras are magical, etc, so what will fit the tengu? what professions do they lean towards to lore wise?

i’m having a very hard time to decide the rest of my characters, because i really don’t want to have doubles. How did you decided yours? animation? looks?

What can be a fitting title for someone who have interest in quaggan and always studying them?

make it so we can use it when we use a hair kit, what is the idea to add only a few selected colors? all we had since release is some blue, pink, and some ugly pastel colors.
With this wheel there’s so much options opening up for the characters.

only 1 per race. Since i only play 2 races that would be just 2 instead of 6 for me.

And totally no to class specific cultural .. that would be 1 instead of 40

Just because you play only 2 races does not mean anyone else who play all races should not get it

Plus i know people will like it, there’s a reason why you see so many characters from all the different race running around in so many cultural armors.

Any chance we will get more cultural armors in the future? we have the same ones from the release of the game, it can be in the gem store or be like the old ones from vendors but something that will be… more unique to the races, you know? like more fur armors for norn, etc. It’s just that we have 5 races and so little racial armors variety

After A LOT of thinking, i ended up coming up with the word Crimson as a warband name and i’m really happy with it. It’s one of the shades of the color red, so i found it to be both fitting and elegant (the warband will have only females).

I need something that will fit for a mesmer ( i came up with Crimsonshield for guard, Crimsonblade for war, Crimsonspell for ele/necro but i can’t come up with anything for a mesmer)

what do you think?

Ontologist is something that will better fit for a necro i think ( study of the nature of being, becoming, existence, or reality),
philoseeker is good but i feel it’s not “quite there yet”

any other ideas? btw i will use ontologist for my necro!

for example, i want to turn the word “pursuer” to be fitting title, i know i can just use it as it is but i want to make it to be with a twist, it’s for my asura guard, wearing the Visionary’s Helm from the personal story and she “seeks the world’s greater truths”.
any ideas?

How i can turn simple titles to be more asuran in the future? in case i’ll have more ideas…

too much achievements, people will complain they don’t have time for everything, too little achievements, people still complaining, seriously.

so halloween and wintersday is ok and totally fitting, but SAB is not.. ok.

I’m looking for something less threatening while still staying true to the charr background

Ok i need help, i need a warband name, and that name will be used with all of my charrs, because i want to make them all of the same warband.
The problem is, i need a warband that will be easy to attach other names to it, i wanted to go with “faith” warband, i came up with “faithmist” for my mesmer, but couldn’t come up with anything else for the other classes so i dropped it.

I want a “soft” warband name and something that will be easy attachable to other words.

Any idea?

This is exactly what happened to me, i still play but i no longer support the gem store, been a few months since my last purchase and i intend to keep it this way.

They do it to make it more grindy, look at what happened with the traits.
Think of someone who got lots of alts, and really want all of the traits to be available on his alts, do you think he will go farm all of the events to unlock them? no, i don’t think so.
But you can buy them off with gold and if you short on gold and don’t feel like grinding (grinding again) you can buy gems.

I have alts running around with almost no traits because i just don’t bother, i can imagine how many people are doing the same.

Edit: i noticed i have a small lag sometimes. it really is random, the lag is about 1 second late maybe a bit less. What can be the problem?

I tried to run GW2 on high/ultra (maxed out everything), but my fps is always 20-25~
I started playing with the options, lowering every option one at a time to try and find what causing the lower fps. I found out that Render Sampling is what causing it because if i will use subsample, fps jumps back to 60. (with everything else on the highest settings).
Native gives me 30 fps. back to supersample —-> 20 again.

Is it just the way the game is or is it something with my machine?

Agreed – a University student who usually ends up being unable to log in to GW2 every single semester (which is a lot longer than 9 days obviously -cries-).

i just started working after a very long period of no job and i thought i had it bad getting my gw2 time reduced from 10+ hours a day to just 4-5

I’m pretty positive that this is a legendary weapons, not trinkets.
I’m checking the link i provided pretty often, And i clearly remember that there was no statement about legendary weapons, only trinket. They added the legendary weapon line much later. (if you will check the link you will see what i’m talking about).

This black or white living story attitude is plain ridiculous.
They make sure to always make a short video of the new update, to excite new players to join, but shame they will not see anything from the older stories. (and again, i play from release).

I was under the impression that the achievements would be returning as part of the recurring festival; there was no living story temporary content thing going on at the time, this used to be outside of that category, and so left some of the less fun things for next time. If I had known they wouldn’t be returning i.e. some word of that I’d have finished more of the achieves at the time. I’m guessing now we won’t be seeing a lot of the old Wintersday stuff either, shame.

Exactly, i was looking forward to wintersday too, to be able to finish some things i missed, but not gonna get excited anymore.

I’m sure that if they wanted they could have implement the older achievements in the new update. Bet there’s plenty of ways to do it. This is no way near impossible.
I mean even the kitten carving.. bah.
Uniqueness? please stop. If they really cared about uniqueness they wouldn’t bring the old SAB achievements back.
But you say “ho you cant do world 2 without world 1”, why not? whats so extraordinary about world 1 that cant let me do world 2? some minor weapon upgrades? so bring just these weapon upgrades then, no need the whole older achievement list. They clearly knew about those who missed the old achievement in SAB.
Why not bring the old Halloween back is beyond me.

True. It was nice when it was easy going actually, but i don’t like it anymore. Things in this game relying on achievements way too much, and no option for new players to catch up (i’m playing since release btw).
I say make a lvl cap to it, make so the maximum points will be like 20k or 30k or whatever just make it so you can get no more past a certain number. You will still get daily rewards just not points, this way others will be able to catch up eventually, but yeah, this will never happen.

I really don’t like when they do these “one time” thingies where only those who did it the first time can get the all the “prizes”. People need to stop assuming that those who didn’t get it the first time didn’t do it because of laziness etc.
I play since release and did what i could in the previous event with the time that i had on my hands but it wasn’t enough.

I really feel like i’m being punished just because i didn’t had enough time.

They are in the historical tab, so I think that’s the way they want to keep it. What does it matter when there are new achievements? Stop looking to past at what players that were there from the beginning worked hard for and just work for what is coming up now. Enjoy Halloween >.<

When older SAB achievement came back i worked just as hard as the people who done it before me, so i don’t get what you are saying sorry.

I really don’t understand why they couldn’t implement the older achievements, they were able to do it in SAB.
