So far we have 2 videos and both are 3 times as long as the requested length. Reading comprehension is clearly not our strong suit. Fun thread though and a great idea to get the community involved.

I think he means both ways. I suspect the term “behind” is meant to refer strictly to the relationship between the AC and the target, i.e., any situation where the there is a wall between the AC and the target.
This explanation is what I meant. I was using the word “behind” to refer to the target being on the opposite side of an obstacle. Sorry for the confusion as I could have been clearer originally.

A server deploy changed some behind-the-scenes behaviors which means any keys older than about mid-July are broken. Server programmer is working on a fix, but in the mean time newly-created keys should be fine.

So I just completed the Greatest Fear chapter with Tonn and I noticed that for whatever reason the dialogue is muted in some places during cutscenes. This has also happened in some LS instances as well (in Dragon’s Reach part1 for me). Not sure how far this has spread and I’m hoping you can take a look at it.

This is a bit off topic, but I’ll address it.
I noticed that VO issue the other day in the Black Citadel and sent word over to the Audio team. If you find this happening again, can you create a new thread in the appropriate forum and attach a screenshot? We need to see the chat log output (or the text bubble for the missing VO) to get a repro. Thanks!
This happens in most personal story instances as well as cut scenes in dungeons. You can read the text but some of the vocals do not play. The strange part being the scene waits an appropriate amount of time.
Some advice courtesy of our audio department: See if moving the audio quality slider to Fastest helps.
F11 > Sound Options > Sound Quality: Fastest
Tested this to see if it helped and at first in the Order of whispers audio it did seem to help. But then i tested it in the Orr personal story steps and the bug reappeard.
So i don’t this the bug is connected to the sound options slider.

For the record, I’m not sure the problem is restricted to the Personal Story but may be appearing in other content types. But if you’re experiencing missing VO (or VO that’s failing to play) in the Personal Story you can post info in the above thread. The Audio Team is investigating the issue, so we appreciate your patience in the meantime.
If the message is already in your mailbox then it will not be sent again, you have to read the one already in your mailbox or delete that one first.
Thanks for pointing this out. This is exactly right. If you’ve started this story before and received the mail already, then it won’t be resent. You have to find it in your inbox and select it to complete the active step and progress the episode.
Is everyone getting stuck during the step “Discuss what to do next with your friends”? I would like to investigate the issue but need to know some details so we can have some internal folks try to track down what’s causing it.

While the changes listed are the ones you’ll be seeing in the next beta weekend, we haven’t stopped making changes as we work to improve the Dragonhunter specialization. Here’s a few more changes we’ve been playing with for the longbow.
Puncture Shot: Arrow velocity is slow! We’re looking at increasing it so that it’s less strafe-able. What we’ve got it at is ~66% increase, putting it at around Hip Shot (engineer rifle) velocity. We’re also looking at the base and bounce functionality.
True Shot: To make this ability more rewarding for stopping you in place, we’re looking at further increasing the damage.
Deflecting Shot: We’re looking at increasing the damage values of this ability, so that it has a bit more impact to it.
Symbol of Energy: It’s really hard to place this in a position on allies/enemies without them being gone by the time the arrow gets there. Upping the missile velocity by ~60% and allowing it to be fired behind you.

Why do you only cherry pick post take make the new system look good? It’s funny that you never show up in threads that logically describe how bad the change to solo queue is.
Fair question. It’s easy for me as a programmer to combat precise statements with some data to try and keep things from snowballing, but I’m not really the guy to comment about the game design choices behind solo and team queue. I just pop in where I can be useful. I’d love to try and get some global statistics for everyone though.

More statistics is definitely something we’re interested in.
I learned that we’re asking not every log-in, but every fifth time or so. For most people, that means they’re being asked about once a week.
SMS is a highly desirable feature that we strongly encourage every eligible person to take advantage of. There are no plans to allow a complete removal of the reminder, but I’m told you can hit play directly and not deal with the reminder at all. The team will review feedback and may consider changes to the frequency at a later date. Their priorities are on other things right now, but they may visit this in the future.
I did a quick looky, and your record today is 7-4 with your worst loss being 150 points and your best loss being 360. It doesn’t seem to match up to the experience you describe. Before that you were on a massive win streak so perhaps your MMR is settling back down.
If I get time I can try and see how many matches were against premades.
Edit: The 150 loss was against all solos with a team score of 300.

Dual Wielding specifies “sword, axe or mace” so unfortunately it will not. That’s not to say it couldn’t change later though based on feedback from the next BWE.
Fun Fact: We experimented a bit with this kind of “low health/lifesteal” mechanic earlier in development. We moved from that idea for the version you see now because we were concerned about some of the things Atticus has mentioned. When your effectiveness was based off of being at low health we found that it turned other players healing you (a normally positive experience) into a negative experience.
I think there still may be some places for this kind of thematic playstyle though, and there are actually a few good ideas I found in this thread already, so thanks for starting this discussion.

An upcoming patch will contain changes to how line of sight is calculate for arrow carts. Some of the arrow cart skills ignored line of sight and the rest were too forgiving with their line of sight calculations. Both of these issues allowed players with modified cameras to shoot an arrow cart from behind walls to locations they shouldn’t have even been able to see, much less fire at. In the future arrow cart skills will use a special type of line of sight checking specifically designed to reduce this problem while still making the allowed target areas feel reasonable.
Rage skills are a new skill type. They are not considered Physical skills and will not gain a bonus from Peak Performance.

I would say raiding the party is extremely ill-advised. We will have huge Mordrem bouncers outside to prevent any insurgence of raiders.

Having condition transfer on shroud was something I was playing with when doing the trait revamp. Plague Sending originally used shroud 1 as its trigger condition rather than critical hit. I ended up changing it because shroud 1 already had several traits that affected it and I didn’t want to overload it, plus the curses line had several traits that affected shroud in some way already. I think it would be a bit overpowered though if Life Blast could transfer conditions on every hit though.
On the topic of increasing the cast speed of Life Blast: I think we would need to lower the damage multiplier if we wanted to increase the cast speed. The damage per second on that skill at its current cast time is already about as high as we are comfortable with. It’s a tricky skill to balance because we’d need to also look at adjusting all the traits that affect it.

Exactly right! We’re not concerned about the numbers, but about the quality of the video. And no, we don’t expect professional videos, but nicely and carefully made, enthusiastic videos by passionate GW2 players are always top-notch! 
The panel is in a theater that requires a PAX badge to attend. That is not our restriction, that is a restriction put in place by the convention organizers. Even though the theater is not in the Washington State Convention Center, it is part of PAX and attendance of any panel in that theater (or any of the other hotel theaters administered by PAX) requires a PAX badge.

Just so I’m sure you know: the demo at PAX Prime will be of Guild Wars 2 and not Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns. This is because the game is being changed every day, and building a “demo branch” is quite time consuming.
We’ll definitely be talking about HoT during our Saturday presentation, but we’re delighted to show gamers core GW2 at PAX Prime.
As you may have read, Guild Wars 2 is going to be participating at TwitchCon at the end of September. We’d like to feature some of our marvelous Guild Wars 2 guilds right on our big screen at the show!

I’ll think about it a bit and maybe try out some things.
I considered something similar while developing the skill, but passed for reasons that tabascodagama has indicated. Making sure that the projectile would line up with the player for the duration of the skill would be hard to guarantee. You run into inconsistency issues where the projectile hits an obstruction but the player is launched over it, or the players is launched off of a cliff but the projectile keeps going. The skill is already pretty complicated under the hood so I wanted to avoid adding too many potential bugs to it.
I do think it would be pretty cool if we could do it though.
You can basically run this trait without giving up any damage in your max DPS setup and hand out 6-7 stacks of AoE might permanently. You don’t even need to use the glint legend to pull that off.
2-3 might. Its only 5 seconds of might, 2 times every 3 seconds at most.
If you use Impossible Odds for DPS (you should), you’ll be putting up 5.75s of might every second without any runes or food. Just putting on a strength sigil will proc several even if you aren’t applying any other boons. The Golden Dumplings should be enough to proc the trait on cooldown.
Just using a STR sigil and STR runes will get you up close to 8 stacks of might. Glint aspects aren’t the only way to proc the trait.
Impossible odds doesn’t apply boons to allies, so it doesn’t proc the trait.
You count as an ally like in the rest of our traits for professions. It’s just generally how we word descriptions.

It’s worth noting that the dailies that are available change depending upon the highest level character you have on the account. I don’t know that wiki takes that into account.

Yeah, my WIP endpoint includes the level ranges for each potential achievement. I’ll make a PR on Github later today — it’s pretty close to the OP but uses two separate endpoints.
From approximately 9:00 PM on August 19 until 1:00 AM on August 20 Pacific time (5:00 am – 9:00 am UTC August 20) our payment processor will be conducting routine maintenance. Cool, thanks for looking those up. As a temporary workaround, I’m going to blacklist those ids from appearing in the id list. Won’t fix the root of the problem but it’ll be something.

Looks like a typo to me; I recently refactored some of those bits so it’s probably my fault. I’ll see if I can get a bandaid in-place today. Sorry ’bout that.
EDIT: might land tomorrow or Friday at 5PM; it’s been awhile since we last did an API deploy and I’m not sure what snags I’ll run into in the staging environment.

That kind of sucks. I was using the count of the ids returned to determine when I had finished paging in the objects, which works fine for the item and recipe endpoints. Back to the drawing board I guess.
We might have it fixed at some point, but pagination should still work using the X-Page-Total response header. It’ll always have the same number of pages, you just might not get the full count for each page (the broken objects will be omitted and you’ll get a 206 status code instead of 200). Alternatively, the Link header has an RFC5988-formatted datum that contains a URL to the next page — when there’s no ‘next’ link you’re at the end.
Totally agree that it’s a massive annoyance though, it just happens to be in a lower-level component that I’m not really familiar with so I can’t go in and fix it myself

Amazing. I’ll get right on making that legend. Sounds like it might be a little OP though.
It’s supposed to resemble a ‘third eye’, kind of like enlightenment, for revenant’s ability to to use these powers learned from historic legendary beings in the mists.
Just curious about one thing that wasnt mentioned at all.. Now that Jalis hammer were changed, whats about reflexive summon trait which remains at 180 radius? Can it get changed to 120 as well? Or maybe get rid of it completely and change it to apply 6sec on 15cd weakness when we get hit (instead of activating on our hit) similiar to protective ward from rangers?
Overall I feel like that trait is lack luster, I’ll probably be re-making it when I do a trait pass. If you all have any idea feel free to shoot them out. I’ll also likely combine the two on CC traits and make a new master tier trait for that line as well.
