Looks like records will be missing the games between hotfixes
We’re working on a fix. Apologies. Looks like we missed a piece yesterday.
Josh F gave one to myself and Crystal R (spoilers Crystal hasn’t got hers yet) as a Christmas present and as a thanks for the team work on Jan Living World!
I thought I would share!
I love Josh and I am absolutely blown away!
Lore Item: Only 3 were made before the mold broke.
Josh will post some better pictures when he can.
Here are the rest I took:

Thanks for the report and the suggested work-arounds.
I’ll see if this is a known issue or if we can have someone review to see if it’s “working as intended.”
The Wintersday event will finish on 1/13/2015.
Thanks for this thread guys. Just chatted with the programmers and getting specific information like this is helpful to them in tracking down the issue.
This is unlikely, the whole point is to log in to the actual game. Sorry!
No need for a new thread I have someone checking this out, and getting a new bug on it now. Thanks for the report!
Okay, I got bored and decided to fix the links in this sticky as well as make them more readable. Mods, feel free to use the quote option to copy and paste the below forum code I provided with fixed links to replace the broken links and such in the OP:

1054644 – This isn’t something support can help with. You need to submit a bug report in-game so that Quality Assurance is aware of the issue.
1069443 – GW Tickets are handled separately from GW2 and have a slower response time. We’ll get to you. =)
Happy to help, shadow. I put in that note just in case it still applies, but I imagine it does not.
In any event, I’m glad that’s all sorted now.
There are certain Black Lion Weapon skins that are unlocked for some players in the achievements even though the skin was never obtained. We’re aware of this one and our QA team has it on their plate at this time. Apologies for any confusion caused by this!
The fix has been implemented with the hotfix that just went out. If you’re still encountering this issue, please submit a support ticket so that we can look further into your individual situation. Thank you all so much for your patience!
I think you’re talking about the Gift of Magnanimity, right? If so, was a known issue that was addressed in today’s build. If you clicked on the item and nothing happened, what I believe will take place is that you’ll be sent a replacement item in the near future. You will not need to submit a ticket, the item will be sent to you without the need to contact CS.
Oh, here’s a tip: You should click on the item outside of PvP in order to enable it. (It may now — due to the bug fix — be clickable in PvP, as well as outside of PvP, but I thought I’d share that bit just in case it helps.)
Thanks for your patience.
Bug Fixes:
(edited by Mark Katzbach.9084)
What dailies do ppl hate?
Apparently anything that might be slightly different than what they were used to with the old system.
Teon — let’s be fair. The system changed in significant ways, and some players are going to prefer the new one, others the old. I don’t think it’s fair to flag the feedback here (or at least all the feedback here
) as a straight comment or whine against change itself. Try to view the input more along the lines of “I liked the old system better” or even “I think [this change] would have been preferable.” In the end, each player is entitled to his/her opinion and is free to share it here (as long as it’s not off the rails on language, of course).
Disambiguation:
LAURELS
- Laurels were earned by completing the daily and monthly and are now gained by logging in.
- It will be possible to get more laurels in the new system in 28 days than it was in 28-31 days before (Max of 55 available now, max of 38-41 available before). Obviously, this calculation excludes laurels from achievement milestone chests.
- At various stages during the 28 days, a player will be either behind or ahead in laurel acquisition compared to the old system.
- A greater percentage of the total available laurels are back-loaded. In the old system, a greater percentage were front-loaded because 25% were from the monthlies, which could be completed in as little as one day.
- Before, if one completed every daily and the monthly and played 27 days in a 30 day month, one was out 3 laurels. Now, one would be out the 20 laurels in the Chest of Plentiful Laurels available as a choice on Day 28. However, one would only be out 2 laurels compared to the old system (37 then v. 35 now).
ACHIEVEMENT POINTS
- AP’s were earned at the rate of 1 AP per one task, with a daily cap of 12 and a monthly cap of 100. Total AP in a 30 day month before was 460, and is currently 300.
- Minimum AP rewarded assuming total completion every day in a 30 day month before was (30×5)+100=250. Currently it would still be 300. There is no difference in AP totals for completing more than the minimum tasks needed for completion.
OTHER REWARDS
- The other old daily rewards were Karma, XP, Mystic Coin, Luck and a chance at a Gem Store item. These rewards were tied to daily completion (5 tasks). Now, all but the XP aand Karma are tied to daily login. XP is part of the login rewards but is also available in the new rewards.
- These rewards are not awarded daily. Instead, they are awarded a few times in each 28 day cycle.
- If one logs in all 28 days, one will be likely to get more gem store items, will get more XP and luck and will get a lot fewer Mystic Coins with the new system.
NEW REWARDS
- The reward chests for the daily tasks are a new reward system. Karma and XP are in at least some of the chests, along with other rewards (Wintersday stuff right now, crafting materials, WXP, etc) that were not part of the old daily rewards.
THE TASKS
- Before, each daily would present 12 tasks. 2 were WvW specific, 2 were sPvP specific. The remaining 8 could include some that were PvE specific. The rest were more generic (could be earned in most PvE zones and in WvW).
- In the old system, there were 12 daily tasks. There are still 12 daily tasks.
- Of the 12 tasks available now, there are 4 tasks each for PvE, WvW and sPvP. Like it or not, this system favors no one mode whereas the old system favored PvE only players.
- Three tasks are now required for completion versus the old five tasks.
- The PvE tasks are less generic. Before, it was possible to get the daily reward playing in most PvE zones — though there were occasional days where this might not be possible.
Thanks for the breakdown
I agree — that’s really helpful information. Thanks, IndigoSundown!
I’m curious how the profession statistics were generated and how they would be reliably generated for a new chart. For example if I have 6 characters all of different professions, would my account put 1 “vote” for each of those professions into the respective columns? Or would the statistics be sophisticated enough to realize I spend 90% of my time on two of the characters, 9% of the time on three of them, and 1% of the time on the storage mule?
In other words, the profession “count” in cases like mine would need to be weighted.
That is a really good question. I’m going to ask one of the people who works with stats about this. I figured it was “how many of XX profession have been made” as a general marker of “people choose YY most” or “Most players make ZZ as their first profession” but it’d be cool if it was more weighted to actual play hours… and it well may be.
I can say that I’m sure we all make our mules Norns because they’re bigger and clearly can hold more stuffs, right?
)
The problem has been identified and a fix is currently in the works. Again, I’m sorry for this inconvenience, everyone! I’ll update this thread again once I’ve been notified that the fix has been implemented.
I just wanted to let you know that your feedback on this is really appreciated. I understand how this immersion breaking bug is severely detracting from your enjoyment of Guild Wars 2. I assure you, Radiobiology, Bluefox. We have Top Men working on it right now. As always it will be fixed When It’s Ready™.
Evan, to confirm here, that means I could leave right before every loss and maintain a 100% winrate that way?
If you want zero ladder points, that would technically be possible on the current leaderboards. It would be trivial for us to add desertions to the losses column, though.
You have a desertion on your record, which doesn’t count for a game played and also counts for a loss regarding ladder points. This explains your missing point.

Bumping to let y’all know the link has been updated. Thanks to everyone who pointed out the problem and helped us test!
Inculpatus cedo is correct – you can avoid email auth by adding mobile auth. Details on that can be found here.
Also, if your wife submits a Support ticket, we can definitely make sure everything is clear on our end. Reporting our emails as spam will cause future emails to be blocked by our system, but it’s a block we can clear upon request.
I think you may wish to post this in the Technical Support section, so someone with knowledge of this can answer you, whether player or staff member.
Thanks.
Wasn’t this what the whole pvp revamp was supposed to do? Why do we have to wait for another revamp to fix the problems with this revamp?
We’re like to iterate and continue to improve. Something we can do much faster with the back-end servers.
Yup.
And the mean is 1293. Median is lower.
Yeah, I don’t know where my head was with that one. Probably already halfway home.
Would median MMR make more sense?
No, not necessarily. E.g. 1200, 1215, 1210, 1240, 1600, the mean is 1293, but the median is 1400.
um that median is 1215 :X
*whistles and walks away slowly*
I mean you said it yourself, MMR is more accurate, then why not make the Leaderboard just based on the MMR?? The system is way too inaccurate.
The beta ladder is an experiment for one piece of a larger whole. The reason we call it beta is because it isn’t the final product.
I means in this patch, anyone who not in the game when it ends.
It doesen’t register you so no win no lost?
You just minus point becuase system think you are dc or change another char?
If your aren’t in the game when it starts, or leave at any point, yes you will get flagged as a deserter and lose the max amount of points for the match.
We’ve got something coming down the pipe that should improve these sort of scenarios. Details soon.
Because even if they made it a guaranteed item if you put in [x] number of items for, players would complain that it’s too grindy.
Make it an item easily attainable, and people complain it’s not special when everyone has it.
What’s your suggestion that pleases everyone? Because I (and I’m sure Arena.net) would love to hear it.
Yes, you’re absolutely right. We’d love to here those suggestions. In the appropriate thread.
(edited by Gaile Gray.6029)
Please understand: I do hear the concerns about RNG. I do not profess to be a master of the subject of game economies but sure, I understand the concerns. I just want to point out that this thread isn’t about RNG and the items in questions are available in the TP, so I think we’re covered. (Meaning, let’s keep the RNG discussion in the appropriate thread, please.
)
I just want to say that as a long-time gamer, I totally understand and embrace the concept of rarity as an important factor in games and their economies. Maybe come would dispute it, but as far as I understand it, RNG is part of the system that ensures that items hold value. Until I’m convinced there’s a viable alternative (and yes, in the other threads, which I will read!) I can’t view RNG as the demonic system that it’s claimed to be… even while I’ve spent far, far too many hours trying to score the rare items myself!
If you take on board that rare items should be rare, and if you want your own rare items to hold value, then… Ah, but as I said, this thread isn’t about RNG. I’m happy we were able to share the recipe and I wish everyone the best of luck in scoring the nice Wintersday items, whether they choose to seek them or buy them on the TP.
Would median MMR make more sense?
No, not necessarily. E.g. 1200, 1215, 1210, 1240, 1600, the mean is 1293, but the median is 1400.
when you know you will lose the game, then you leave the game you just minus 3 point and it didn’t record any lose game ?Is this a Bug?
Losing 3 means either your team score < 200 points when you were expected to win, or because you left the game before it completed.
Thanks adozu! Here are the links to go along with what you were referring to.
this is from an official anet source

even tho they don’t articualte on how the winning expectation is calculated exactly.

Are people recieving dishonor if they’ve tried to leave the queue and decline (or are offline) when it pops? If so, can we get a reset after this gets fixed? =)
Dishonor is currently disabled.
I always add “We have cookies” in there. It seems to work well!
“One of the biggest problems is that we simply aren’t messaging any of the details to you in-game”
Ummm.
Like your odds of victory, what score you have to get to get N points, etc..
Yep. Verified that it was broken last night, and fixed it last night. Fix is going through the pipeline and will show up for you guys soon. Unless, that is, we find something wrong and have to hold it back, of course.
queue times for top players have shortened in compromise for less even matches, and, thus, teams are more often facing solo players or small teams with a few pugs.
This has always been true. It happens less with the new matchmaking because we start this process later.
It was supposed to improve play by reducing the amount of times disliked maps would get chosen
It has. Our least popular map (I won’t say which
) has gotten 4% of votes, and has only been selected in 4% of all games in the last 24 hours. It use to be uniform, which meant all 6 maps had a 16.7% chance of being chosen.
Last but not least: Leaderboards.
It’s a test scoring system, no the final one. One of the biggest problems is that we simply aren’t messaging any of the details to you in-game. That said, we will be taking all feedback into consideration.

When i duo/trio q with lower or slightly lower ranked players, match ups seems to be WAAAAAY better, prolly cuz it averages our MMR.
Very likely, I’ve heard this from other players as well.
2 minutes minimum, 8 minutes maximum
2 minutes average. Some people will be higher, some lower.
people matched with +10/-10 of their own rank, wouldnt that be the whole point of the matchmaking system?…
No, matchmaking focuses primarily on MMR, which tends to be far more accurate than rank. Of course we can do more to reduce the rank gap, so I’ll take a look at your games and see if anything stands out,
It’s not like i don’t want to face them, it’s like i don’t want to face them if they’re FULL TEAM while i’m SOLO with other SOLOERS.
I get you. We’re collecting data for this entire ladder, and don’t think the ladder scoring rules are the only things we care about.
We’ve been discussing the issue and working on changes that should help with this. The only thing likely off the table (for now) is hard-filters.
In order to stop esl teams to go vs me ?
Hmm, your MMR is pretty high. Looking at your stats, it doesn’t seem odd though.
Is the issue that you’re getting matched with these players while queuing solo? Or is it that you don’t feel you should be matched with them at all?
Do you have a specific match you’d like me to look at? If so, do you remember the time?
Add a minimum of r20 and 50 unranked games for play ranked games. It’s easy.
So the issue for you is getting matched with inexperienced players? I don’t want to toy with the matchmaking rules for ranked while the ladder is active, but I’ll talk with the team about possibly increasing the PvP rank distance scoring for unranked arena.
We’re also looking into long term solutions to the problem, so thanks for the feedback.
Do you have a specific concern that I could address?
like, there isnt enough soloq players to match up? at a given time or what.. this is severely annoying.
Out of your 26 matches in the last 24 hours, and excluding the ones where you were with a party, all but two of your matches have been all solos. You even won one of those.
Are you sure it’s the pre-mades that are bothering you? Is there something else we could do with matchmaking to improve the quality?
Edit: Here are your wins vs losses based on party size.
1: 6 — wins: 4, loss: 2
2: 4 -- wins: 2, loss: 2
3: 1 — wins: 0, loss: 1
4: 1 -- wins: 1, loss: 0
5: 14 — wins: 9, loss: 5
I don’t see anything unreasonable there, do you?
