Vuziiness.9458, it was your first character name that was the issue. We have a policy of blocking renames (following a censor) that are very similar to the original offending name.
You and I were writing at the same time. This sounds like an idea to take over to the population imbalance thread I just posted on.
You guys beat me to it. After last week’s positive discussion on siege trolls I wanted to bring up the topic of population imbalance and ideas that you have on it.
There are a couple of ideas already going in this thread:
I’d like to join in this brainstorm with some questions on these. For merging servers, how do we determine who gets merged? Where would we merge them to? How do we maintain any sort of world pride or identity they have? How do we handle potentially merging with your mortal enemies?
For population caps, how do we deal with the longer queues on the worlds that can field enough people? If it is dynamic, would players be able to manipulate it? For example, our world is ahead so we all agree to not play WvW so the other worlds are capped down and can’t counter us.
For Battle Groups, Asglarek mentioned more details are on the way. I’d love to hear more.
I’m approaching this as a brainstorm. The topic is “Approaches to correcting overall population imbalance”. I know there is a related topic of 24 hour coverage but I’d like to keep that as a separate conversation for now.
Please keep this friendly, constructive and on topic. We had a really good discussion on the siege troll thread I’m hoping we can kick around some ideas and have another great discussion here. Feel free to add additional ideas that I didn’t list out but please make sure they are on topic.

There’s something weird going on with the WvW maps, the WvW team is tracking it down. The issue they’ve been discussing sounds suspiciously like something that would cause the behavior you’re seeing.
From what I’m seeing to view the extra listings enter into the aforementioned alternate ‘I am Evon Gnashblade’ mode.
Seeing all your listings doesn’t require EG mode.
I have asked our devs not to show their tags while participating in Adopt-A-Dev. The tag can become a big distraction and I really want them to be treated as regular players.
That said, we are not enforcing that request, it’s just my preference that they refrain from doing it.

Oh and keep in mind: The Profanity Filter is not in place to give you or any other player “Permission to Swear.” The Profanity Filter is a means to allow some level of personal selection on what a player does and does not see, but it is by no means intended to serve as a 100% solution to the bad choices of others.

If you’d like our official terminology, here it is:
A suspension is a suspension — a halting of your ability to play on a temporary basis.
A ban is an account termination.
No, we’re not going to go with “temporary ban” because that’s like a “temporary death” and it just doesn’t work for us.
I did a little looking into this and I’m going to close this thread. Please be advised that with the in-game antics you committed, the offensive chat you used, not to mention a display name that was offensive and had to be changed, you’re sort of “on borrowed time” about now, in both the game and forum sense.
Amongst all your posts — which you put up and deleted in large numbers — you’re missing the main point:
When you’re in the game or on the forums, please use greater wisdom in the future.
I understand, but CS won’t deal with anyone but the account holder. Have your friend submit and follow-through via ticket.
Noticed that the default quantity when selling is now however many you have and not 1. Great job, keep it up!

Inculpatus is absolutely correct. If you email is compromised it will likely be monitored to remove emails from support. You may contact us from another email address which takes a bit longer (we have to prove you’re you) but gives you an avenue to correct the issue.
Also, it’s always a good idea to update your email password to a new unique one.
Most of the animals are currently located under WvW discussion subforum. I don’t think they are tameable tho and I wouldn’t suggest to pet them. They bite and if you feed them nuts, they will throw ’em right back at you.
I see what you did there. 
For transparency, this post was accidentally removed because the moderator was concerned that it might be insulting, but it’s clear it was a gentle joke and no forum members were harmed in the making of the comment so it’s back in place.
[Just have to add: Sometimes a joke really is across the line and it will be removed, so, you know, everyone should use good judgment.]

This thread has been great and it’s had a lot of valuable conversation in both directions, as was intended. However, at this point it seems to have fractured into a lot of different conversations about a multitude of topics.
In the interests of getting the most value from your comments, I think it’s time to close this thread and ask you to please post your thoughts in an existing thread or, if there isn’t one, in a new thread of your creation.

We’re experiencing an issue with messaging where suspensions are concerned. You are likely to see ‘Unacceptable Behavior’ as the reason for the suspension regardless of the actual reason.
In most cases we expect you’ll know the reason for the suspension but if you’re not sure please submit a support ticket and we’ll let you know why your account is suspended.
Just a note that GM White Noise is legitimate; he’s a member of the ArenaNet Team. We just need to get him his red hat and his gifts from the Welcome Wagon™.

So its been a while since the new TP was launched. I waited for a while until things settle, people get somewhat used to it, etc. But still we seem to have utter ‘disorder’ in the GW2 economy. What I mean by that is that people dont use the TP anymore. Not all ofc, you still can buy stuff but the market volume has dramatically dropped – if my observations are accurate.
The first clue was the rise in prices of crafting mats (scraps, bolts, ingots, etc.). So then I thought ‘Oh ppl are going for the new collection achievements and they keep the mats for themselves, thats why supply dropped and demand increased’. But it seems I was wrong… I checked the buy orders too. And if in a typical scenario – a situation like this results in an increase of buy orders too. Both in volume and price. But it didnt.
So to summarize: Sell prices increased while demand is dropping, sell listings are dropping both in volume and price. This two usually are in contradiction. Why would ppl buy stuff for a higher price and refuse to take advantage of the dropping price lvl of buy orders? Example: bolt of cotton is hovering between 9.20s and 10.50s but at the same time buy orders for armor from which cotton scraps can be salvaged almost halved.

Also, buy orders get filled a lot slower. I used to place 300-500 buy orders every 2-3 days. And they resulted 2000-2400 items on average over 3 days. Now I cant even make it to 500 over a week’s time. Ppl dont buy, and sont sell…
This is telling me that a lot of ppl stopped using the TP in general. Anet, time to get you kitten s in gear.
p.s.: Besides all the convenience issues that the TP changes brought us, the most important is the cap on the buying/selling tabs. Other problems may take a bit more clicks to solve, but this has no alternative solutions. If you have more than 100 buy orders or sell listings you cant manage them, period. So fix this first!

I don’t think the new TP is having a large effect on users using the TP. I think you make a compelling argument and it was a good idea and a good use of reasoning, but there are other factors involved that may be missing.
I’m attaching a simple chart of TP Users and Buyers as unique counts relative to logins since the beginning of the month.
Buying was accidentally switched to default to placing orders. This has been fixed.
We’ve also changed it so that the price per unit will now automatically increase as you increase your quantity.
As a temporary measure until we’ve bumped the number of current transactions loaded from 400 (200 buy, 200 sell) to 2000.
We’re still working on a longer-term fix, as we’re aware that this doesn’t solve the problems for users with a very high number of transactions.

I wonder how that process would be easier with v2 since it basically delivers the same data. Currently the only way to find and update changed items is to retrieve the info for each and every item over and over. So the only advantage of v2 will be the bulk request which may speed up this process (which currently takes about a day).
That’s what I’m referring to, yes. Getting back 200 items at a time is going to speed up that process.
Bluestocking is right, your friend needs to submit a ticket so that we can investigate.
You weren’t suspended for saying “I am a ****ing legend” – you were suspended for impersonation which generally calls for immediate termination of the account. I’d advise you to be honest with yourself and the community before posting accusatory diatribes that you know are irrelevant.

It’s perfectly legal to purchase the game and send him the serial key to register. Just make sure you don’t register for him.
As long as your friend can access the account management and download pages, he should be fine.

This is a cool idea. I will pitch it to the team. What other things would you see going on this track? They all have a theme leading up to the end goal.
any chance on an endpoint which lists the ids of changed items after a patch has been pushed?
It’s not something we have currently, and I don’t think it’s anything we’re planning to build. Hopefully once /v2/items is out it’ll be easier for people to compile those sorts of things themselves.
Will the phase concerning Guild Halls be in this thread? Or in another thread? And also, has that discussion started yet? :P

If you do open that modal and get stuck you should be able to just refresh via the F5 key, no need to re-enter your character name.
We could expose the commerce search endpoint, but it only knows about items that can be put on the Trading Post. We don’t have any other search backends wired up to items that I’m aware of.
Fix deployed, http://hom.guildwars2.com looks fine to me. Anybody confirm?
I think it’s easier for the devs to review a single merged thread built from several that contain comments on a very similar or identical topic. I’m merging four into this and may add a few more. You are welcome to post your thoughts here!

Hey there,
There’s a number of different reasons why client files can become corrupt. If you find the client keeps trying to repair itself when you start up, or you’re unable to complete a repair, it’s possible the files have become corrupt beyond repair and your best bet would be a complete reinstall.
Thanks Tarnished Coast for putting up an amazing fight toward the end of Round 1. We were only 1.1k behind Jade Quarry at reset, and managed to close in to less than 700 behind at one point. Those were some great fights.
