Playing it internally, we’re all paying more attention to taking notes, writing up bugs, and whatnot. When I first hit this on my personal play account, on my home server, I stood around…and as you all say…was overwhelmed right in the feels. I love working with this team!
Surprised it took this long for someone to notice!
Thanks for keeping it civil and constructive in here guys. It always helps us when you guys proffer facts/theories as to why something’s not balanced correctly, and then offer proposed solutions as to how you think it can be fixed. You guys are also doing a good job of honing in on where it’s most used, how it’s used, what you feel is too strong about it.
One recurring theme I’m seeing here is people feel that the initiative work lately has helped to benefit this skill.
Thanks for keeping it constructive.

The endless tonic will grant the appearance of the clothing it replaced. (along with some appropriate complimentary pieces so you’re not naked). They are new tonics, not existing ones.
Only one tonic can be used at one time.
There will be no town-clothes swap any more.. so you won’t be switching to naked.
And then we need to burn a transmutation charge whenever we want to move from town clothes to a combat look. Not great for roleplayers.
There is no transmutation charge to change outfits or toggle it on and off.
Transmutation charges are for applying new skins to specific armor pieces, same as now.
Yes outfits are all or nothing.
Yes wearable in combat. There will be no non-combat equipment anymore, unless you count tonics.
Not only did I not say no, I said this “I’m not saying it’s a bad idea,”

You guys more or less covered the answer, but I’ll clarify.
In normal WvW, the Objective Events DO NOT scale. Though some of the events like the Grub and Tree Spirit DO scale.
In EotM, the Objective Events DO scale. However, the health scaling likely needs some tuning here, as it is set to cap out at around 300% additional health currently. In EotM, we wanted to noticeably reduce (but not eliminate) the advantage a bigger group has over a smaller group. We wanted having superior numbers to still feel important, without feeling like that was almost always the deciding factor in fights.

This made me giggle.
The only time a thread is deleted is if it goes against the CoC. This has nothing to do with servers we are on (which btw, we are all spread out, so that’s irrelevant).
sPvP players don’t get experience by playing in it. In WvW, players gain experience from events and killing things.
I’m not saying it’s a bad idea, just pointing out that the two don’t really compare.
Players also got experience for the LA events. And much more of it than they would have gotten if they’d spent that time playing WvW. And yet, they could still buy tomes.
Fair enough! That is a better comparison, although the LA content was not permanent content.
Is this still happening for you guys? I passed this on and we’re not seeing anything server side that suggests this behavior.
We did have a hotfix a little while ago, maybe that cleared things up?
I dispute the stinky warriors thing!
My female warrior got the new set of runes, one each of ‘Rune of Athlete’s Foot Resistance’, ‘Rune of Brazilian Wax’, ‘Rune of Minty Mouthwash’, ‘Rune of Moisturing Cream’, ‘Rune of Manicure’ and ‘Rune of Smiting Any Man Who Leaves The Toilet Seat Up’.
Highly recommended!
LOL!
I want to +1 this whole thread.
I personally would be very happy for my Asura to be able to have some special dialogue with Taimi about her golem or College choice, even not personalised with my character own personal story.
This is one of those instances where you must have missed it. We did put some in. You may have even seen it and not realized that it was different from what others were getting.
One way to ensure you’re getting the full conversation is to make sure you click all the way through, including the exit. We put progress bits on the exits that will determine what future conversations with these characters will be like.
Keep your peepers open. We’ll definitely be doing more with Taimi and the asuran PCs having special moments.

I agree with the suggestions given above. If you have any doubt that your e-mail is secure, then you should not request assistance through that e-mail account, because the hacker could view every response and continue to jeopardize your account.
I do suggest you work with your e-mail provider to try to regain secure access to your account. But in the interim, you may wish to contact Support from an alternate e-mail account if you are certain that one is secure. You’ll be asked to answer account ownership verification questions, to make sure that all is kept secure from our end.

I just want to add that if the guild name or tag were found to be offensive, we might be forced to disband the guild. These cases are extremely rare, however, and I believe you can go with the preceding answers.

Hey guys, I passed this on to the team. Will update if there’s any news.
I wonder. Did you review this Knowledge Base article?

There is quite a bit of good information about linking accounts on that page.

Ic is correct. I’d like to add that often, a game account is jeopardized or compromised by a hacking of the e-mail account associated with it. If you have any concerns whatsoever that your e-mail account may be accessible by others, please consider contacting Support using a different e-mail account than the one that you use to log in to the game. You will be required to prove you are the owner of the game account, but if you’re conversing with Support through an unlinked e-mail account, your security might be increased. This is relevant, of course, if you’re concerned about your e-mail account. If you are confident that the e-mail account is secure, then no worries about communicating with CS via the account.

I send u message but i will write here for every1 to see.Every1 that has this problem all u need to do is to send ticket to Arena Net and ask them to change your mail.Problem here is that your mail is somehow bugged.Create new mail and give it to Anet, after they change your mail, you will use another mail to login and everything should be fine.It work’d for me.
It is true that we will be able to change the Account Name (that is, the e-mail address used to log in to the game). However, do be aware that for security reasons, we’ll need to verify that we are being contacted by the account owner. and that might mean that you are asked to answer some questions about the account. This prevents someone from changing someone else’s account to a new e-mail address in order to steal the account.
If you are asked questions about your account, answer the ones that you can answer and the team will do its best to help you.

Our CS agents have a lot of experience and many resources when it comes to helping players. There is a long list of questions related to an account, but we never expect someone to know all those answer — we simply ask the questions so that a combination of answers will help us identify the person who is writing us as the legitimate account owner. Once that is done, we are able to assist. Best of luck to your friend!

Bug Fixes:
- Updated the monthly achievements for April.
Hahaha thanks Justin. Yeah, we were talking about some balance stuff.
It used to be bugged and was LIFO 8 months ago.
But it was fixed and has been FIFO ever since.
But I suppose the OP question has been answered and the thread resolved.
Since it has been answered, we will be closing this thread, as it does not foster a welcoming environment. Please be mindful of our Forum Code of Conduct: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/rules
Update: 24 March 2014
462257 – Resolved.
449120 – Resolved. The team is not able to replace your items.
476988 – Resolved. Three tickets. Please do not submit duplicate tickets.
470346 – Resolved.
465546 – Two tickets. Please do not submit duplicate tickets. Agents have been responding to you, as early as last Tuesday. Please see this thread for information about non-receipt of e-mails.
30673 – And agent will review this GW ticket for you. We apologize for the delay in responding.
468921 – Under review. We apologize for the delay in responding.
468377 – Under review. We apologize for the delay in responding.
460472 – We are treating this as a hacked account issue. The account has been secured and an agent will address this as quickly as possible.
434963 – Five tickets. Please do not submit duplicate tickets. Final Answer: You were not phished, you were not hacked, and account sharing (which you admitted in February) is forbidden. After three separate incidents of botting, the account will remain closed and no further information will be provided.
- Some tickets will require extra time because they are very complicated. This applies especially to compromised accounts and certain access issues that may related to disputed ownership of the account. Please continue to discuss these matters with the Support Team to reach the best resolution.
- Please also note that people involved in botting, cheating, exploiting, and gold sales (RMT workers) file appeals and post in forums. We will not reinstate accounts found to be involved in these offenses. Responses flagged as “Final Response” will not be reviewed again.
If your ticket is at least three days (72 hours) old, and if you still need assistance, please post in the Tickets for Review – 3 Days and Older – Part 2 [merged] thread, which is here at the top of this forum.
Please do not submit duplicate tickets for the same situation. Please update your ticket by simply responding to the most recent e-mail with the ticket number in the subject line.

Hey everyone,
As many of you are already aware, ArenaNet has been supporting tournaments by providing gem codes for prizes for several months now. We are currently supplying gem codes for four separate tournaments on four separate days of the week. Many of these are hosted by the same people.
A number of you have recently contacted ArenaNet staff regarding this prizing, be it for recent tournaments within the past 4 days or for tournaments that happened a few weeks ago. ArenaNet has no control over players or tournament organizers submitting their information in a timely manner.
Moving forward, please allow up to two weeks after the tournament ends for tournament organizers to gather the information and submit it to ArenaNet for distribution. Beyond that, if you have not received your gems yet, feel free to contact the tournament organizer.
Additionally, if you plan to participate in a tournament, please have the following information ready to submit for prizing:
Email address (for contact)
Display name (name.1234)
Character name (the character you played on)
Team name (the team you played with)
This information is necessary for us to distribute these gems, and we will not be distributing gems until all of the required information is submitted.
Thanks!

They no longer drop from BLC.
They still maintain their original value for the next 3 weeks. I’d recommend using them before then.
legit criticism posts are routinely removed at the whim of the mods.
Legit criticism can still be done in ways that break our code of conduct. Making a good point doesn’t exempt you from the rules.
Edit:
I should add, if the mods seem to be doing things on a “whim”, i.e. ignoring some posts and removing others, it’s because they are usually responding to reported posts. They don’t have the time to read every thread in every sub-forum.

So ANet guys often say that the forums don’t represent the whole playerbase.
However, I realy want some of the ANet guys to explain cleary how they get / weight the player feedback.
Maybe this hasn’t been adequately explained before, but we do NOT disregard players and opinions on the forum, we just have to place forum feedback in the proper context.
Forum posts are far more likely to gravitate toward the extremes of love and hate because those players have the most incentive to speak out.
High skilled players are also over-represented on the forum, but represent a smaller part of the overall player base.
So, yes, we often have to base our decisions on what benefits more players, but truth isn’t determined by numbers. If you guys bring up a valid issue we aren’t going to just ignore it because only 1 person said it.
I rly would like to know, how ANet gathers the opinions of the players who don’t come to the forums.
Lots and lots and lots of metrics. We have a whole team dedicated to crunching numbers and deriving meaning from data.
We also have alphas that do lots of testing and we listen to their feedback. Maybe Josh can elaborate more on what they do.
The community team is also constantly taking the pulse of how our players feel. Allie is frequently bring up issues and representing the community in discussions that arise.
So why the hell can’t you make it more like Q&A style instead of “the 1h ANET show”.
Maybe you should start a thread about this? This might be something Josh and Allie can do for a future episode.
All I want is, is sb with a red tag say “This is how we weight / handle Community feedback: …” and even more important, I want to know, how you handle the “not existing” feedback of all those players who don’t go to the forums, as obviously, their opinion seems very important to ANet.
I’ve tried to answer this to the best of my understanding. I’m sure there is even more that I’m not aware of.

You guys are making some really good points, thanks.
Do you guys think this should be a higher priority than other changes? Why?
Isle of Janthir: Flux, Latch, Aegir
I don’t play warrior in PvP. My warrior is my PvE character, which I also play in WvW. I don’t play hambow, though.
Maybe cause its stupid that you have to load like 3 screens to do it?
You can directly join a custom arena from anywhere. You do not need to be in the Heart of the Mists anymore.
Isle of Janthir: Flux, Latch, Aegir
- 40 new Grandmaster Traits, unlockable from PVE only
The new traits can be unlock from playing PvP only because gold.
While the new things are met with some trepidation, the reveals so far have brought about more vitriol and disdain than cheers and appreciation. Why is this? Primarily because the game the players want is not the game the developers are giving them.
Do not forget the nature of forums; that those that take issue with something are more likely to come forward. I think that this is one of the big disconnects that can mislead people (including us,) and cause us to misunderstand what the community actually wants/feels. Also keep in mind that no one can presume to represent everyone’s opinions.
So what does this mean for PvP? Well, it means that the game can never be truly balanced.
This would be an interesting topic. Perfect balance is impossible, for any game… so what exactly is required for balance to be considered good? I know many people have many opinions on what needs changed, but what are the core requirements? (Forgive me if this seems obvious, I’m not a designer and haven’t given it much thought before.)
If ArenaNet were to listen, perhaps they would make an all-stop and perform emergency triage to correct the problems with the game.
Feel free to help us improve the game by continuing to posting quality feedback on specific issues.
History tells me we will see a crackdown on disgruntled players in the forums and the PvP will continue to degrade.
We are actually very open and accepting of players that wish to express their opinions, even negative ones, we just have a hard line when it comes to our forum code of conduct. Stick to that and I can guarantee your posts will not be removed.
Isle of Janthir: Flux, Latch, Aegir
Simplest answer I can give is that it just isn’t as high a priority as other things we have been working on.
Why do you feel custom arenas do not work for those that want to duel?
Isle of Janthir: Flux, Latch, Aegir
You’re not standing in the right spot in the screenshot. It’s a bit deceptive since the entrance is up in the town, and it’s possible to stand on the beach directly under the marker on the minimap, and not see the entrance above you.

The Suggestions sub-forum has been archived and is read-only. We’re directing players to leave feedback & suggestions in the sub-forum which best fits their topic. As example, if you have a sPvP suggestion, we ask that you post in the sPvP sub-forum. If you have a crafting suggestion, we ask that you post it in the Crafting sub-forum. This ensures that the Developers on these topics will see it. For all topics which do not have a specific sub-forum, you can post in the Guild Wars 2 Discussion forum, which all our Developers visit.
What do you mean by “it glows when I approach”? The start is marking the entry point for the story—so when you enter the glowing area that’s marked in the world, it will prompt you to enter the story map. Batanga isn’t in the open world, she’s in the story map.

Can you cull out the ones that are not playing Warrior, decap engie or Thief as their main?
Done. Hugh plays a Hambow, but he played it before it was cool. I’m pretty sure he’s been using that same warrior (Nightmare) since launch.
