Hi, I would like to request a refund of all my gem purchases. Unfortunately there are a number of defects with this game including password reset not working, unbelievably bad customer support, trading post still not being entirely stable, glitches that cause character rollbacks, bots, exploits, various other glitches. Sorry but this just isn’t what I paid for. I will keep my account and game purchase for now…

After a recent transaction of turning Gems > Gold (and loosing both in the process) I submitted a ticket to seek a resolution. 8 Days later I receive a response. It was fairly obvious that this was a generic canned response, blatant that they had not even bothered to read my initial ticket.
I’m more than disappointed with this response. This is the second time this has happened to me now. Presumably I’m going to have to wait another 8 days before someone actually bothers to read my initial ticket.
Not happy.
If you want help, provide your 12-digit ticket number and we can remove this. If you’re here merely to rant, that’s really not productive and I’ll ask you to reconsider.
There is a thread in this very forum intended to address long-term (5+ days) so I’ll move this there.
Plain and simple this system is a safety net for stopping crazy farming when people find exploits that make each run super fast. We are also addressing those loopholes, but that takes time and new ones might always be discovered. If you and your group do the dungeons without skipping large sections and run different chains this system shoul(bugs aside) never impact you.
Addendum for clarity, super fast means < 30 minutes, and even then you must hit that speed multiple times in a row before you start seeing any impact.
We wanted to address some of the concerns around ‘botting’, and let everyone know what we’ve been doing about it, as well as our plans for continuing to tackle this issue.
Our monitoring of ‘bot’ activity has already resulted in over 1600 account terminations world-wide in the last week alone, and we are actively tracking the most common ‘bots’ in use, so that we can continue to eliminate them from the game. As we continue to gather information on these ‘bots’, we will be increasing the rate of account termination to remove them. Please continue to report players that you suspect of ‘botting’ – your support is much appreciated.
We are actively improving our means of detecting ‘bot’ activity in the game automatically. This includes tools for our customer support team to help them verify ‘botting’ reports and efficiently issue account terminations. Recently we have also hired a team of data specialists who will be helping us create more effective tools for analyzing reports of ‘botting.’
As a side effect, these efforts directly impact the operations of third-party gold sellers (and spammers). In conjunction with ‘bot’ removal we also take Real Money Trading very seriously and actively remove hundreds of gold spammers and sellers each day.
In short, we are fully committed to keeping this community free of bots and illicit gold sellers, and we very much appreciate your assistance in identifying and eliminating them.

Minor bug:
Filtering in BLTC on Item Upgrades (sigils and jewels, etc) are borked. Filtering for armor upgrades show accessories updates, and weapons show armor upgrades (or vice-versa)
Most probably the filtering ids in the dropdown are wrong.
Update:
After investigating correct subtypes for the dropdown would be:
All -> Subtype=0 or subtype=[null]
Any (usable upgrades on all equipment, like jewels) -> Subtype=1
Armor (runes) -> Subtype=2
Weapons (sigils) -> Subtype=3Hope this helps in any way,

DThere is a similar bug in the consumables filtering.
I’ll check the BLTC with the webrowser to check the correct subtype ids for filtering and edit this post with the correct ids.
We’ve got a bug on this now. Thanks for the report.
Might as well chime in and say big crowd events where condies are stack capped is also a problem we are investigating.

Nobody actually knows the amount of DR the system currently puts on the players. There is a bug at the moment which is screwing things up, so before you all start going in to a rant, lets just wait for the bug fix first?
Correct. People can speculate about the timing involved and how it works – we will not be divulging this information since it opens the system up to people finding ways around it. While we are confident in the system, we are doubly confident that people are amazing at finding holes in systems and breaking them.
The system is currently bugged, and is treating people unfairly. We’re actively working on it.
Any chests opened after the change reflect the change, regardless of when the item was created/dropped.
Hey guys, I know I’ve said this before but hang tight. This is something that we are still currently looking into as this is something that is difficult to reproduce in order to narrow down conditions that cause severely low FPS, intermittent or sustained. We are unable to diagnose what is wrong with everybody’s PC and in many cases these can be factors that are out of our control (drivers, hardware issues, not meeting the minimum requirements, etc.).
We are still tracking down common driver issues and hardware problems and weeding out the differences between things that are our problem vs. a system related issue.

He said that you can be fast, but only be fast in one dungeon within a certain period of time. If I want to do all 3 paths of a dungeon; assuming I’m good at them I’ll be punished if I do the other two paths too quickly after the first path?

You have concerns and questions, which is why I am answering them to the best of my ability without divulging the full mechanics of our DR system.
To answer your most recent question, No, you would not honestly get punished with our DR system for that. Hitting the same path 2-3 times in rapid succession would result in DR influence, but hitting different paths quickly won’t initially draw the influence of the DR system. That being said, there is a limit to the amount of paths you can run in a period of time before global DR kicks in.
So basically what Robert is saying; is that we can only be good at one dungeon.

Our DR system combats repeated runs, and has a global presence as well effecting other dungeons. So if you run multiple 10 minute dungeons, back to back then you are going to get hit with the DR system no matter which paths you choose.
However the notion that your group will be punished for clearing any single dungeon in any amount of time is incorrect. Running through multiple speed clears back to back will result in the DR system influencing your rewards.

I’m not entirely sure what the screenshots are supposed to be telling me, sorry. If you ran into a bug from evading into a tree/prop, that’s really not a story bug.

We have collected a very extensive amount of data in regards to this issue and from what we have found, the majority of tickets that have come through support have been connection issues on the player’s end such as high amounts of packet loss and latency spikes seen in network tests provided to us.
There have been some “workarounds” for players that have resolved this issue if their connection is not the case, such as reinstalling Windows, the /clientport 80 command, removing the router, disabling application overlays, running Msconfig, and performing a Winsock reset.
Please keep in mind these workarounds seem to resolve the issue for very few players and in very rare cases. For the most part for any connectivity issues, especially if they’ve been prevalent since launch, I would recommend getting in contact with your ISP as they are the only ones who can make any adjustments to your connection.
Are you positive you’ve checked to see if another door has opened? Only the first door has a cutscene so the other entryways can be difficult to find…. When in doubt, try to move towards the green star on the minimap. I know this step confuses me every time I’ve done it.

My mistake reboot – Kalec is right, you don’t need to add any additional RAM. Not sure how I missed the 8GB – generally players with 32-bit operating systems have less than 4GB. Since you have considerably more, I would absolutely recommend upgrading so you can put some of that RAM to use since 32-bit operating systems only use approximately 3.5 GB.

Hi Akroma – Glad to hear that not using /clientport 80 seems to have resolved the issue for you. I know that a few of the old command lines used during Beta no longer work and I’m wondering if it’s the case for /clientport 80.

We are currently aware of a bug in the DR system not working properly on some players. We’re actively looking into it and trying to fix it.
It does sound likely that this may be an issue with your video card and as Kalec has suggested, I would try to test this by trying a different video card if this is something that you are able to do.

Hi reboot – This looks like the Out of Memory crash faced by players with 32-bit operating systems. This is something that we are currently looking into but have no ETA for a fix at the moment. As other players have suggested, if you are able to, I would recommend upgrading to a 64-bit Operating System and adding some more RAM as well.
If this is not something that you are able to do at this time, I would recommend turning your graphics settings down completely, and if you don’t experience a crash at all, gradually raise the settings a little higher until you reach a configuration that you’re happy with that doesn’t cause you to crash.

Hi lory – If you are running Guild Wars 2 out of a temporary directory this could be your issue here. As XcomCaveRat has stated, you will want to move your Guild Wars 2 installation files out of the temp folder and into a more permanent location such as a folder on your desktop.
Hi Cole – First I would recommend updating your Windows to Service Pack 1. You can do so by clicking the “Start” button and typing in “Windows Update.” Once you’ve selected Windows Update, be sure to download all critical updates for your system.
Next, I would recommend using AMD’s Driver Verification Tool to locate the most recent drivers for your laptop:

Hi Wyxz -It looks like we’ve made some changes account side and adjusted the sensitivity of the Guild Wars 2 e-mail authentication system to make it even more secure. The result of this, however, is that some players may be briefly denied access to their account until they approve access from their current network.
If you were denied access when trying to log in, check your e-mail for a notification from support. If you recognize the log-in attempt, follow the link in the e-mail and select “Remember this Network” on the page. You should then be able to log in.
So I dug through all the recipes that Orichalcum Ingots are referenced by and the recipes for bolt conversions and I’m not seeing how this is possible. I want to track down the issue, since what you describe isn’t awesome. Could you give me some more details so I can track this down? What EXACTLY did you put into the forge to get those ingots?
Okay, we’ve purged that file from the server-caches. Let me know whether it resolves the issue for those still afflicted!

Did you kill the named captain? What’s your current objective? I’ve never heard of this happening before.
If an orb is placed at a keep, that Lord will be determined (invulnerable) until the altar is destroyed. Destroying the altar should remove the determined state from the lord.
However we did discover a bug yesterday that could cause the lord to not drop his invulnerability in certain cases. Given how long it has been occurring for you, my guess is that keep was affected by the bug.
We have already fixed the cause of that particular issue on our development server and are testing it now. I’m hoping we’ll be able to get the fix pushed up to live next week, but we’ll need to make sure we are not causing additional issues first.
If players get hacked and lose a month’s work )or more as the game ages) only to be told “tough luck” what percentage of those players will be willing to start all over?

It being called a service is even more troubling. Does this mean if the TP lags out and crashes again and people lose items or gold again players are going to have to pay a micro-transaction to have things restored?
Please do not worry about the name. That was what we called it in GW and that’s what I’ve been calling it in GW2. It is a service, but it’s part of our customer support and there is no charge for restoring a compromised account. (Sorry for any confusion!)
When I just tried it, the undead appeard at the top of a ramp nearby.
There are gangplanks that lead from each ship to the next. If you fall in the water, it will reset your position.
Most of the recipes are actually correct. It looks to be only the ones made by Weaponsmiths that are the problem. We didn’t stealth fix anything. It’s just partially bugged, not fully bugged.
Was one of you on an overflow?
If you’re in the same map, when one player enters a story instance it should pop up a prompt for the other player asking if they want to join. If you’re both on the same story step, at the end you can choose whether to advance your own story and accept any decisions that have been made.
There was a bug that was switching storylines (based on the fear you chose at the start of Chapter 7) but it’s since been resolved.

I must have pressed the “SEND” validation email button at login 55 times by now. I have not received a single validation email as of yet (15 days now).
Is this system broken at this time?
I would appreciate player/dev feedback because if it is not broken, I may have to open a ticket with tech support.
My account was hacked in the first week and restored, mayb that has something to do with it?
Also have a lil 2nd question, my account was hacked, lost all my gold and gear, is that ever coming back or am I just screwed?

Please do submit a ticket — there’s something in the stream that is preventing you from receiving the mails, because the system is working just fine.
In the future, the ARS (Account Restoration Service) will be able to “roll-back” your account to a point just preceding the account compromise. However, that service is not in place quite yet, and with regret, we cannot replace the losses.
I just wanted to update everyone on where we stand with this. So far we have found a single bug with the system that is causing certain players to get stuck in a state of reduced rewards without actually exploiting. A fix for this has already been made and is being tested locally now. We are going to do more significant testing on this new version but we also believe it is more bulletproof to begin with. All rewards are susceptible to our code that is dealing with people who are speed clearing dungeons. This means that if you are speed clearing and then play some new chain for the first time it may not reward the full 60 tokens. If you find yourself getting less rewards consider whether or not your rate of dungeon completion is extremely high.
