We are in no way blaming these performance issues on players’ systems which is exactly why we need to collect this information. This will allow us to see if we can spot any trends and issues with particular set ups and find out where people are experiencing these issues, how often, and most importantly: WHY.

There are some cases of course where someone’s drivers haven’t been updated since 2008 or that their system simply does not meet the minimum requirements though we have not ruled out there are many players who have systems that show no reason for the low performance being experienced.

And so while collecting this information we’re trying to throw out some basic “things to check” to ensure all bases have been covered with these performance issues.

Buck, I deleted your first post as we are not allow to show any user´s names on public, no matter how much you want to get rid of them.

I suggest that whenever you encounter one of these spam mails, make a screenshot and send a ticket with that picture and the user´s name. That will help us a lot to prevent this kind of spam.

I can buy things no problem but can’t sell anything.

I managed to sell an item maybe a week ago before trading post was enabled for everyone.

Running Vista, on a home network. Any suggestions?

My guess is that something happened that caused your local trading post files to become corrupt. Unfortunately a normal repair operation doesn’t repair the trading post files. It’s a bit of an involved process to do it manually.

I’ve gotten a couple reports of this over the last day. When the rest of the trading post developers get in tomorrow, I’ll ask them to look into it. If my suspicion is correct, then they will be able to fix yours and others’ without asking you to do scary things to your files.

I’m sorry that you’re not able to sell right now.

Is the bug i mentioned known? It sounds like your talking about people that haven’t gotten gold from transactions (buy or sell). My problem is with just checking. I’ve bought stuff from the TP several times without issue, but twice now I lost money while just checking and not actually buying anything. And the amount i lose is really specific (only the gold column of my money – silver and copper remains). I’m 100% sure i did not attempt to sell or buy anything when i lost this gold.

We haven’t had any other reports of this happening. I’ve sent you some messages privately to try to figure out exactly what caused your money to disappear, but I haven’t found any evidence of the trading post being involved yet.

You need to go to a Trading Post NPC, located in most towns, and access the pickup tab through that NPC.

(Using “s” for silver and “c” for copper) I’m not getting the correct amount of currency per trade. I sold one item for 57c with a listing fee of 3c, after it sells I get 52c back so essentially shorted 2c total. I know this is not a big deal but it scales with value; ie: another listing I just put up was 50 items at 55c per item so I should get back 27s 50c – listing fee of 1s 38c… which comes out to a grand total of 26s 12c. My total return for the sale was 24s 76c… so shorted 1s 36c….. anyone seeing this?? also… Is there some “hidden fee” that comes out BESIDES the listing fee?? that I’m just not realizing here? Thanks for any help

Hi,

The queue of stuck transactions is still getting cleared out. At the current rate, it looks like it’ll be about 5 hours before it’s all cleared up.

At that point, assuming no bugs in the trading post, a user will be in 1 of 2 situations:

  1. For ‘instant’ buy orders that don’t complete (for example the user didn’t have enough money, or the item was no longer available), the user’s money will be refunded back to their character’s wallet automatically and silently.
  2. For other orders, part or all of the order may be completed. The proceeds can be picked up in the pickup tab when you’re at a trading post NPC. What that means is that you might see less money in your pickup tab than you expect, since each item in your sell or buy order can be purchased individually by other players. You can check the current status of an order using the ‘My Transactions’ tab.

I’m really sorry for the delays in the trading post. We’re doing our best to ensure that it doesn’t happen again.

Hi,

What operating system are you running? You need to be running Windows XP SP2 or above for the trading post to work, due to SSL root certs not being automatically updated in previous versions.

Ok, guys. I’m surprised to see some of you who have been out for several more days than I expected. And that tells me that your issue may have been put in the wrong queue. So again, please choose your oldest ticket, and update it with as much information as you can give (see my post above). Change the subject line (if you can) to Hacked Account (if that’s what you know happened) and then resubmit.

Then, close the others, because they are not needed and only clog the queues. The oldest tickets should be worked on first, so I’m going to gather some numbers from various posts in this forum and ask our top agents to give them a look. Will post when I know more, but if you can take the steps I’ve outlined above, that would help you (and us) a lot!

Two days ago I logged into my account and played for a couple of hours. I then logged off for around 4 hours and came back and found the my characters were deleted. Y did you delete my characters for?

We would not do that, and there have been no issues that I’ve heard about that would result in such an action. I worry that your account was accessed by someone else. Please change your password immediately, using something strong and unique to GW2!

I have a 3 day suspension for “defrauding someone of in-game items, currency, or services.”
I have not even played with other players in GW2 yet. I have not traded with anyone, I have only partied with a RL friend ONCE. I don’t understand how I could have possibly defrauded someone, and have NO idea why I have been suspended. Character name is Chronic Abuse.

Hey there. I recommend you immediately file a ticket. That’s an odd one to be related to an account hack, but it’s good for you to file. Even if the suspension expires, I think you’ll feel better knowing what happened.

To everyone who has reported that they purchased an item in the Gem Store, but did not receive the item: please check whether your in-game mailbox is full. If your mailbox is full, please make room in your in-game mailbox. Even if you have 9/10 spaces full, please make room for ALL undelivered mail, as we’ve seen some cases where items will not be delivered if there isn’t room for everything. If you’ve done this and you still haven’t received your items, please let us know.

I’m not sure where 72 hours came into this, but the team is expanding, training new people, and working very hard on these issues. I recommend you update your oldest ticket and close the other two. Multiple/duplicate tickets are one of the reasons that people are waiting so long. They do not speed your resolution, they slow it.

I’m starting a GW2 Fan Site, and I was wondering if we are allowed to advertise it in-game as long as it is not spammed?

What would you be advertising, your fansite? Mentioned once in a while in chat, with no profit motivations (like ads to sell gold shudder) and you’re ok. But do it once in a while, not frequently or people will resent it and report for spamming.

I don’t think we want to know what we said to get banned (Or atleast I don’t need to). I can understand how my racial slurs were taken offensively but I think we’d all rather have a warning rather than a ban right off the bat without getting a slap on the wrist first. It’s easier on yourselves and the player to get a slap on the wrist first, for the first offense, then a ban if or when they continue to misbehave. Obviously with this “automated” system of 3-14 day bans you’re just getting people upset and inconveniencing players for a first offense. I get the fact Arena net wants a nice community, but banning for first offenses is not the way to do it. Yes it does smack the player hard and tell them you mean business but it probably also makes players leave and gives a “harsh” name for the game.

TL;DR, Message us a warning before you ban us. Please.

Right. We have a lot of people who need help, but we should dedicate people to hand-holding with giving warnings? Really? The warning comes through the User Agreement, the Rules of Conduct, and the Conduct Breaches and Outcomes. Become familiar with them and the problem is solved.

In all of this, the fact is you made an error and the support team will help you.

There’s no evidence that accounts are being stolen from us. They’re being stolen from individuals through use of harvested account credentials.

But I agree with you: We need more and better ways for our players to reach us. And we need a way to speed up our responses. We’re working on both….which I realize is not a completely (or perhaps even remotely) satisfactory answer when you’re waiting, but is the truth nonetheless.

Am I not being looked at? Did you not really get that far down the line? What is the explanation for why I am still waiting?

Dude — may I call you that? That is exactly what I am trying to figure out. And that’s why I appreciate people providing their ticket numbers.

This isn’t a “Go to the Head of the Class” ticket. I can’t promise that we can wave a magic wand and resolve all these issues. However, with this information, we can dig down into the reason that a ticket from August 31st has not been resolved, when one from September 3rd has been.

If you have been wait, say, more than five days, post your ticket number here, so we can look into the system and try to work out any kinks or glitches.
