So…you basically want the zephyrite crystals again.
How easy/difficult is it to move the guild hall? And if you move it, does it come with all the existing upgrades?
- Moving is as simple as mounting the new expedition.
- Wiki: " Upon claiming a new guild hall, your current upgrades are transferred to the new guild hall and the old guild hall becomes inaccessible."
What about decorations? Will they remain as they are if you decide to reclaim it later, or will they get deposited to storage?
Suddenly it hit me that maybe there could be like a Spectator mode to raids? Could be a compromise if the “easy mode” aint working as a system..
In some HoT instances, when you join another’s story, you fly around as this blue glowing ball since you’re not technically there according to the story.
So maybe similar can be applied here. You can interact with the npcs of the raid but are immune to damage, cant cast anything, and work outside the 10-person limit. That way youre there but “not” there. So you just hitch a ride. Thoughts? (Btw no rewards in this mode obviously)
Update of an idea i had (original comment below):

Original post:
So i was watching W.P.‘s videos about the lore of the currently released raid wings, particularly the latest one.. And it just makes me feel so sad that as a person who loves stories and lore, i’m completely locked out from the immersion and the tale because i cannot play this 10-man system which focuses on difficult and coordinated combat..
And i know that there’s a huge amount of people who agree with me (and quite a few who’ll argue against me), that there should be an easy-mode for these things. Like a soloable or maybe even a simplified, dungeon-party mode.
I mean, the first raid directly lead up to LS3’s blood mantle storyline, so it feels like the prologue was completely cut out for me in a “why are these guys suddenly relevant?” way..
And the latest raid wing deals with a cliffhanger from like 10 years ago.. Watching a video of someone narrating it and reading the wiki aint exactly as immersive as being in the moment.
I am aware that once a raid has been cleared, there is a roaming possibility, however, the dialogues wont be there anymore and you wont see the enemies..
Oh and before you say i should just stop whining, gear up and go raid, i have no intention on “training” for these bosses.. Most groups look for experienced raiders, and i know there are raiding guilds who help train new recruits… However I don’t want to spend so much time and gold on the combat when i dont care about the loot and only want the story.
TLDR; Raids need an ez-mode for noobs who dont want good loot but want story immersion.

You can’t stay logged in. You have to use a skill or you get kicked out.
All players have to do is be close enough to press 1 button every 15 minutes or so. And according to the rules laid out by the dev, they can AFK farm as much as they want as long as they respond to a dev message asking if they’re AFK. Set up your AFKer and then go do some housework, play another game in the background, solve world hunger…the sky is the limit!
Actually, necros can just put autocast on that greatsword spell that creates the swirling aoe on the ground that increases in size. It will cast it whenever its off cooldown, potentially aggroing nearby enemies.
Having introduced many new players to the game, the issue i had with them was that they had to wait 4 days before they could trade gold to gems for LS2.. So basically for 4 days they couldnt continue playing…just waiting..(skipping to the expansion story would have been stupid.)
Weren’t there 3 owners before?
The Pale Tree gave it to Riannoc, but it was stolen by his squire. Upon retrieving it, the Pale Tree gave it to Trahearne. Technically the squire isn’t counted as its official owner. You probably need the Pale Tree’s blessing to be counted as one.
There’s a theory that they do a sale every odd numbered episode. if that theory is true (which I doubt), then it would be episode 5 which is roughly just under 3 months away by current pacings.
You are more likely to find sooner sales from approved retailers listed on the GW2 site.
Oh i didnt even know you can find gw2 from retailers.
I have some student friends who are interested in buying the full game, but they’d prefer to wait for a sale, especially since they need to buy the LS2 too.
I recall there being sales in 2016 so will we have them now in 2017 soon too? Like when the next episode releases or something? Was wondering if there are any news about that..
Do the ornaments still drop from the chests after Wintersday ends, assuming you unlocked the collection already? The ones after feeding Grawnk the bloodstone food.
I have a friend who’s not high enough level to go to Orr yet, so he cant get the 6th piece yet.
I recall anet already mentioning that theyre gonna do something about the mystic coins. They’ve acknowledged the issue.
Careful all you hoarders, resonating sliver 2.0 incoming.
Claw of Jormag fight needs to be updated
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Andovar Edoras.2143
So we have Tequatl and Shatter who are both challenging enough, and then we have This fight… where you just sit for 15min and shoot at an ice wall or wait for golems to walk? Well basically you just sit there and have 1 on autocast.
Considering the current situation of the story, S3 and all, perhaps the time to update the fight is here? You could definitely implement gliding and especially the Kodan flame mastery into it (so those who have the mastery actually have a good use for it.)
It’s been a minute since “The Dragon’s Reach”, and she’s still in a coma.. When will she recover? When can we talk to her about the current dragon situation? I’m sure she wants to hear about the egg too…
So both the Personal Story and Living World S2 have 8 chapters each. Do you think LWS3 also has 8 chapters? Will there be a LWS4 before an expansion?
It’s nice that the NPCs in the newest episode indeed brought up the Fang, and didnt just ignore it completely.
So how come when you enter the Inner Chamber in Tarir, it still has the egg and not the cute one hopping around?
I suppose its difficult to separate what different people see in the room.. (depending on the current progression in the story)

There ya go.

—and make sure SAB has a great, regular home in Guild Wars 2. As a yearly festival, SAB will now be a dependable fixture in Tyria, and that makes us very happy.—
The fractals. They can use the fractals to re-live the past events. The Molten Alliance instances are already available, and next week the Tower of Nightmares will be available too. Things such as Battle for Lion’s Arch and the Twisted Marionette and heck, even the Southsun thing with Canach are all possible candidates for future fractals
Meanwhile i have several of those level 30/40 boosts and a huge pile of Tomes of Knowledge.. I haven’t even used the lvl80 boost, because i dont need it..
Water dragon won’t come until they figure out how to make UW combat work.
Better let them have time, than to rush it in the current system.
(In the end, we will have one supreme dragon… Steve.)
I’m not expecting the fang to be broken in the open world, but just for them to show that it can be damaged (fine if in an instance)
So Jormag’s fang still sits undamaged and invulnerable in Hoelbrak, and now this new ep3 trailer hints that we are headed north..
Some characters say that it’s time to face Jormag once someone manages to damage the fang.. So will this be soon then?
So the price for Bolts of Damask have been gradually going down..slowly, but still. From around 15g to 6-7g.
(Deldrimor has also gone down to the 6-7g area)
Meanwhile, Elonian Leather Squares still remains stable around 12-13g, without the price changing much at all over a long period of time.
Shouldn’t something be done about this? I mean, easiest way to improve it would be to restore the thick leather refining from 4 sections per 1 square back to the original 3 per 1 square..
Why is it that some sections of the guild hall’s restored buildings are intangible. You can just glide through/in them.
I dont know about the Lost Precipice, but for example most of the restored War Room in the Gilded Hollow has this issue, where you can just glide through the walls as if they weren’t even there. Or for example those golden pillars at the restored Market. I tried to land on them but i just fell right through and hit the ground.
And yet, some sections of these buildings do Not have this issue.. So you can randomly stand on a wall…within the wall..
Was wondering how much time i have left to farm, but couldn’t find a date anywhere..
So, i was just thinking how fun it would be if you could play activities like Sanctum Scramble, Southsun Survival and heck, even Lunatic Inquisition with your guildies or even just a private party. Normally only randoms are matched up however. But would be fun to organize your own games. (A guild Southsun Survival, where the victor gets a prize and neverending glory within the guild, for example lol)
Now, i was thinking that this could work if you would add a new upgrade to the guild hall, lets say the Market, a Guild Activities Vendor, who gives the available list of activities which you can play, accessed from the guild hall.
So we finally got a sneak peek at the heavy version for the legendary armor (https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/a-first-look-at-legendaryarmor/ if you missed it), and personally i gotta say im actually impressed. I used to wonder how you can make an outfit “legendary”, beyond the already existing cool looks in the game. But there it is!
Also, I’m glad that Anet has decided not to rush it:
“At the moment, the light and medium armor sets are not at that level. We remain hard at work, and release is still some months off.”
I believe doing the heavy armor simply is easier than the other two. I mean, moving armor plates and such looks very good.. Now how will you do that to cloth and leather?
/Perhaps the light set will have like a more ethereal floaty look to it? I bet there’s gonna be some sort of fancy magical cloth straps floating around you when in combat. Quite a few looks you can go with actually./ Leather however? No clue how to make that look nice when animated.
As someone who has played since the first beta weekend…I’m so tired of seeing the Mad King stuff being reused every single year… It’s so boring by now. There’s nothing special about it anymore. And while wintersday is more rewarding at the moment compared to halloween, the activities you can do are also constantly recycled.
I know Anet clearly moved away from those limited-time activities (remember when Tixx/Toxx visited each of the race capitals, giving out rewards?), but at least something new rather than another holiday item collection would be nice..
Like, move the celebration to another city, change up the dynamic. The Grove hosting Halloween, Rata Sum hosting Wintersday, new activity games, new “lore”… Wouldnt that be fun?
I was just about to write a post about this too.. Would be nice to have a teleport item into the Fractals. Tedious to walk to the portal in LA all the time. And now that the Fractal Lobby is bigger, would be very nice indeed.
I hope ya’ll excited, because the heart quests are most likely returning (with daily repeatable rewards).
So i saw on dulfy that there was an interview on MMORPG or such that the next LW3 episode is coming out on the 20th of september. Some details were also mentioned, such as the fact that we are headed to the Ring of Fire…
What im wondering is, why isnt there an official announcement on the gw2 homepage? Not a single mention anywhere.
So I can’t be the only one who’s seen these ley-line anomalies popping up everywhere from time to time, just to immediately disappear as you attempt to approach them.
Just today I was afk in my guild hall and upon returning, turned around and there he was. Startled me but he faded out immediately after.. Saw it yesterday too while i was swimming in some lake.. As it was floating above the water, i first thought it was some graphical glitch, but now i’ve seen it pop up at least 4 times already in random locations
I also noticed that the anomaly looks as if its sad or something. Could it be because of the situation with the dragon’s dying and the bloodstone exploding? Hmm..
Ride the Ley Line is not the same as normal LeyLine Gliding… The spell you can buy in bloodstone fen works like a rocket booster to speed you up, while a normal leyline is like a current that actually carries you somewhere, including up.

I wonder who else has come back for this teaser
Honestly, a recycled fractal could be fun in a nostalgic sort of way. But teasing it first was a bad idea, they really should have seen the backlash coming a mile away…
Keep ’em coming, ANet — if they look good some of us might return.
We knew that a fair amount of people would take a quick look and equate it to smashing a few LEGO bricks together and calling it a day. But an equal or greater number of people understand it’s not LEGO bricks at all, that something looking familiar doesn’t mean it’s the same thing, and that it’s part of the crazy things happening with magic in Tyria since we took out Mordremoth. So we went with the teaser video.
This week’s Guild Chat is focused on Fractals, so some of the fractal team will be on hand to talk about the work they did.
After watching the vid, my hype instantly went to max. I don’t know why people want to complain about things so much, but at least i got excited.
I think the idea of fusing all the fractals together due to the unstable leyline energies (messing up the mists too then?) is so clever. Adding some new fractal right now which is for example about steam creatures would be sooo random and unrelated. Gotta focus on the Now and not the Past with this new leyline crisis.
Plus its not like the fractals were just put after one another, exit to exit… They were deconstructed and rebuilt into a new fused form. So all this talk about “laziness” is nonsense.
On a sidenote, its great that Guild Chat is returning. Have waited for an ep so long.
Yes. For that price it is definitely worth it.
Since I don’t have a lot of time to play, tend to mess around with my lower-level toons, and dislike the HoT zones, I have not yet finished the HoT story. In fact, the furthest I got was after Eir's death and you enter Auric Basin. I sincerely hope that LWS3 is a separate story from HoT. However, if it is not, then I guess I’ll be locked out of it until I beat HoT. I don’t even raid or do many of the events, so I’m out of the loop when it comes to understanding what’s been going on in GW2. Something about ley line energy and bandits.
I’ll appreciate any insight you guys can give me, even if it’s just speculation!
LWS3 will pick up right where HoT left off. So yes, you Should complete that first, otherwise you’ll be completely lost. However, if you log in when a living story episode is released, you can unlock it for free permanently. So just unlock it and play it when you actually reach that point. No need to rush or worry.
So could there be a reason or is it just a coincidence that the newly added Ley-Line Anomaly pretty much looks the same as the Anomaly from the Thaumanova Reactor fractal?
There the reactor overloaded and blew up due to unstable dragon energies or such, so the massive concentration of ley-line energy could maybe have a similar result.
(Don’t tell me a map is gonna get blown up again)
Is there a picture of this armor somewhere?
This is the 2nd time the “fix” has been mentioned in the patch notes and yet the bug is still there… I wonder what’s causing it?
I bet it’s for the simple reason that anet can then throw them into the story whenever they need to and make up a suitable background for them.
Without the dot, both of them could become close to being useless, especially in pve.
So i’m seeing this trend lately where people somehow skip the effigy and mobs in the beginning of the molten duo fractal 40, by jumping into the gap before the boss platform, to speed up the farming process.
I want to know if this is allowed, because i want to farm that fractal but i’m afraid of getting banned for it (looking at you, linen bans).
While Living World sounds like an amazing idea on paper and it was indeed great to see in the game, the reason they switched to a more Living Story based style is because of the limited availability of the Living World releases… 2 weeks and its gone “forever”. Even now, people are hoping the Season 1 things are re-released into the game.
It’s a difficult problem to solve.. You can’t make the Living World instanced or a reoccurring event, because that would still kill the point. But if you make it last only temporarily, what of the new players and everyone who can’t play during the small time gap that it’s available..
So as you may have noticed, you can now find Unidentified Lodestones and there are also 3 new events involving Ley Line energy leaks and Branded, Icebrood and Destroyers trying to absorb them. Additionally, it seems that the Dry Top Ley-line cavern’s energy lines seem to be much bigger and numerous now (it ain’t just gently flowing, but surging)..
Is this a subtle hint to Season 3 of the Living World? It reminds me of the chopped trees for the Tower of Nightmare in Season 1.
I don’t think those Pact Survivors are dead since you can Revive them. Reviving them ain’t actually raising them from the dead, but more like helping them gain consciousness and recovering. (At least that’s how i think about it) If they were actually dead, there wouldn’t be a revive option, if you have noticed.
No it doesn’t need a revamp.
So with the big patch, so many changes were made to HoT rewards and Scribing (i.e. resonating slivers).
However, im surprised to see that Linseed Oil is still expensive and was not handled.. I don’t mean dropping it from every single event or something, but reducing the amount of flax seeds required (i’d say from 20 to 10)….Considering you need it as a base in so many things, and in significant numbers…
Official Map Changes Feedback Thread (Spring Quarterly Update)

The new Skyhammer map feels like it’s lacking something now.. Considering you get to the skyhammer cannon itself only periodically, the map is just basic flat fighting with no other mechanics involved for most of the match. And it’s sad for me because it was my favorite map..
The changes to the cannon’s system itself is good (the neutralizing and the capture point), however i dont think the platform should be locked all the time. It should be unlocked but just the cannon itself deactivated (“charging”).
The complete lack of disappearing platforms is a bit disappointing, since i found them to be perfect for some good strategic play where you lure your enemy into the correct position to kick them into the hole. So maybe just reduce the amount of platforms instead and put them in a few key locations? (like the area under B, or the roads leading to the skyhammer portal, but not the little panels around A and C so you cant just kick people off the capture points to their deaths)..
