I don’t get what you’re saying about the spirits of the wild “not being alien enough” as somehow being proof that the spirits are connected to either the Six or humans or whatever. Its rather common for fantasy stories, regardless of the media format, to include recognizable creatures and concepts. There isn’t any evidence that humans brought any flora or fauna with them when the Six led them to Tyria. That’s not to say its impossible or implausible that they may have brought some domesticated animals with them to Tyria, but creatures like bears, snow leopards, wolverines? Have you ever seen a real wolverine, what they can do to someone? No, there is not currently any evidence that the Spirits of the Wild are connected to either humans or the Six directly.

Not saying I am right, but animals and trees are the preserve of Melandru. All the spirits of the wild that we know of exemplified by animals of the wilderness are associated under the care of Melandru including human. For example leopard, wolf, and bear are animals that come under the ward of Melandru in the story. Where as animals of the Jutan, Trolls, and some other more alien creatures have very little association with Melandru.

Precedence for divine magic transformation/corruption/consumption by elder dragon and others do exist. Zhaitan is know to have collected all manner of magical items and holy reliquaries and consuming them. As the story presented it, these magical items and holy reliquaries must have included magical items from the Six. Zhaitan has also fully corrupted all orrian holy sites and temples of the Six and usurping the Six divine powers in these places.

Zhaitan never raided the holy reliquaries, which are in Siren’s Landing. They remain closed and destroyed even now. We also don’t know which – if any – of the “holy items” are actually with divine magic and not just holy due to their association rather than origin.

On the flip side, we have multiple examples of divine magic, or individuals related to the Six Gods, being immune or outright countering dragon magic, including:

  • The Foefire ghosts, immune to Kralkatorrik’s corruptive breath; Sohothin and Magdaer were made in Orr while the gods lived there, possible tie.
  • Divine Fire, made mordrem flee in terror and killed the nigh unkillable Shadow of the Dragon, definite tie.
  • Forgotten magic, outright immune to all dragon corruption and some is even capable of reversing the hive mind of dragon minions, highly probable tie.
  • Bloodstones, made of “divine resources” per the Forgotten tablets in Tarir, is completely hidden from the Elder Dragons (the only case of dragons using bloodstone is of high priests who had shards on hand in life).
  • Balthazar himself, though weakened and possibly no longer god of war, stood in front of Primordus and an army of destroyers without getting nommed on, before he could turn on the machine.

Jormag has consumed spirits of the wild. The best known are Spirit of the Owl, Spirit of the Ox, and Spirit of the Wolverine. These spirits of the wild have a human origin and therefore lead to the six even if subsequently the norn have taken up the religion after they had lost their magitech in accordance to ancient jotun lore.

Just to clarify, nothing actually links the Spirits of the Wild with the same divinity as either the Six Gods, which is very real even if unknown (or exactly “divinity” as one would expect it to be), or the theoretical divinity of other gods like Koda and Zintl.

I am not sure where you get that the spirits of the wild have “a human origin and therefore lead to the six”. There is nothing about the Spirits of the Wild in any human lore, historical or modern. The closest we get are the Kurzick “forest spirits” that include Urgoz, and the Luxon “sea spirits” that include Zhu Hanuku.

Kormir herself have merged and transformed Abaddon’s divine knowledge and power. I don’t think Abaddon wanted that way in how his knowledge and power were merged and transformed by Kormir. So in Abaddon’s case despite it went against his will his divine knowledge and divine power were consumed/corrupted/transformed.

But not by a dragon, and technically Abaddon was killed at that moment – his body breaking up, and his power being unleashed.

Before entering Orr in the personal story of GW2, there is an Abaddon temple under the sea in the Strait of Devastation. The PC did a mission there. In that temple there was a holy relic of Abaddon. Near the end of the mission PC has to fight 2 Zhaitan bosses. One of the bosses is Mouth of Zhaitan. The Mouth of Zhaitan took the holy ancient relic of Abaddon and consumed it. The Mouth of Zhaitan managed to get away. Zhaitan did have the ability to consumed/corrupted/transformed divine magic from the Six.

Unless Anet introduce more spirits of the wild that are alien then what spirits of the wild we have currently is just too closely associated with human kind. It is this reason alone with the current spirits of the wild being too familiar with what we would expect from a human world that I would associate spirits of the wild as being part of the human shamanistic spiritual religion.

On a side note, I had written in the past that Zhaitan has close similarity with western medieval occidental Christian/Judaic religious artistic representation of the apocalyptical dragon before Anet made one of its arm much bigger than the other. Now with HOT, Mordy has striking similarity to the modern oriental good luck dragon. Ancient oriental dragon were not depicted like that.

Considering that Balthazar uses charr mercenaries, I doubt he’d have any problem accepting a norn that showed up and offered help. At worst, he might be suspicious of getting another ‘bothersome shadow’.

There is the Snaff’s Machine. If Balthazar some how known about it and planned to use it on Kralkatorrik then he might stood a chance.

Possibly, but unlikely. To oversimplify, Snaff’s device worked because Snaff was able to embody happiness and contentment. That… doesn’t sound like an approach Balthazar could manage right now.

Which raises an interesting, albeit wild, speculation…

The new Dragonbrand on the map shows Kralkatorrik parking himself next to the Garden of Seborhin without corrupting it. What if this was deliberate on Kralky’s part – he went there looking for some peace and serenity? :P

On the general concept of the power of the gods related to the dragons: We never really got a solid indication on how they compared in power except that they were on a similar level and that (until now) the gods hadn’t tried to take them on directly.

The only indication we might possibly have is the corrupted Priestess of Lyssa’s claim that Zhaitan ate Lyssa, but I have to say I don’t consider her a credible source.

Precedence for divine magic transformation/corruption/consumption by elder dragon and others do exist. I don’t know whether Omadd’s Machine was really destroyed. If not Balthazar must have made off with it because it just disappeared right after the fight with him. The only way Balthazar can take on Kralkatorrik is with Ormadd’s Machine.

It was. It didn’t disappear, it exploded with enough force to launch us a few dozen feet to a completely separate platform.

Even if it hadn’t been destroyed, it looks like the machine wouldn’t work on Kralkatorrik or Selbbub. Taimi’s research was based on the idea that every dragon has a single, unique weakness- Primordus’ and Jormag’s happened to be each other, and she found a way to use the machine, but it wouldn’t have worked with Mordremoth’s weakness, and likely wouldn’t help with the other three either.

On the other hand if Ormadd’s Machine was really destroyed why would Balthazar go to the Crystal Desert and fight Kralkatorrik knowingly he himself would lose and fed more magic to Kralkatorrik?

I don’t think it’s so simple as that. The Pact was fairly successful with fighting Zhaitan and Mordremoth with armies, and according to Braham, he and a group of norn had single-handedly surrounded Jormag before Balthazar’s tampering sent him back to sleep. Fighting the dragons by force of arms clearly works, and who better to do that than the God of War?

There is the Snaff’s Machine. If Balthazar some how known about it and planned to use it on Kralkatorrik then he might stood a chance.

Possibly, but unlikely. To oversimplify, Snaff’s device worked because Snaff was able to embody happiness and contentment. That… doesn’t sound like an approach Balthazar could manage right now.

Either way Balthazar intention is to destroy all the Elder Dragons. Why would he change like that?

From what we saw in Season 3 and the PoF trailer, it looks like he’s out not just to restore his power, but to gain enough to usurp the other gods. We don’t know for sure yet, though, and it wouldn’t be the first time that a snippet of dialogue in a trailer ended up meaning something very different than we’d thought.

I think it is only logical that Elder Dragons can and do transform or corrupt the human gods. If Elder Dragons do, we could speculate whether Abaddon and Balthazar have been similarly transformed or corrupted. Both gods knowing their selves in danger would have used certain artifacts to fight back. Abaddon had tried to use the Bloodstones artifacts of the Seers. Now Balthazar is using asura machines?

Possibly, but I find it unlikely. While we have seen a couple cases where victims fight back in the early stages of dragon corruption, in both of them, the struggle became central to their life. In Balthazar’s case, he hardly seems to care about the dragons at all- as mentioned above, he’s been treating them like mobile batteries.

Taking down Mordy was the odd one out as it ended without the asura machine as the airship transporting it were taken out right at the start. Mordy final end do have similarity to Abaddon’s end as both wills/mental well beings/spirits were beaten down before or at the same time as their physical selves were taking a bashing.

Abaddon a human god ended by the hands of the humans he had helped to bring forth in to the world of Tyria. Mordy a plant god ended by the hands of plant people the Sylvari he had helped to bring forth in to the world of Tyria.

I don’t know whether Omadd’s Machine was really destroyed. If not Balthazar must have made off with it because it just disappeared right after the fight with him. The only way Balthazar can take on Kralkatorrik is with Ormadd’s Machine. This is because Balthazar could not and did not take on a Elder Dragon when he was a proper god head. Now he is not even his former self. He is less than he was.

On the other hand if Ormadd’s Machine was really destroyed why would Balthazar go to the Crystal Desert and fight Kralkatorrik knowingly he himself would lose and fed more magic to Kralkatorrik?

There is the Snaff’s Machine. If Balthazar some how known about it and planned to use it on Kralkatorrik then he might stood a chance.

Either way Balthazar intention is to destroy all the Elder Dragons. Why would he change like that? Is it because as a full god head he and other human gods would lose against the Elder Dragons in a fight? However because of the Asuras’ inventions only now this is the only way to kill Elder Dragons? If so what about the Pact killing Zhaitan using another Asura Ray Machine aboard the air ship?

The Elder Dragons are basic elemental beings that transform magic. From human perspective the whole transformation process is gruesome and horrible as it not only involves magic alone but also involves all life and the elements. It is corruption in a way. Human gods are divine and yet they are also beings of magic. I think it is only logical that Elder Dragons can and do transform or corrupt the human gods. If Elder Dragons do, we could speculate whether Abaddon and Balthazar have been similarly transformed or corrupted. Abaddon did wanted to rule over Tyria with man kind. However Balthazar said he didn’t care about destroying Tyria and mankind as long as he could achieve his ultimate godhood goal. What ever that is. This point to the Mist as his ultimate godhood aim.

About the Mist, Rytlock headband that covered his eyes is coming off in the coming expansion. The whole Rytlock eye bandage thing had only come about in the Mist. Otherwise his sight is alright. What is the need for Rytlock to have his eyes covered if not to protect his sight from very bright light in the Mist. But the Mist do not normally have bright light that can take away mortal sight. The only phenomena that I know of that does this and needed protection from is divine light from the 6 gods.

If Rytlock were to have met the human gods hiding in the Mist and the human gods did not want this to be known, then the Six would have put Rytlock under secrecy for it. From who did Rytlock learnt his Revenant skills if not from a divine source while in the Mist. While under divine tutelage Rytlock would have needed eye bandage to protect his sight.

All is pure speculation and I very well could turned out very wrong on this one.

spoiler about the first instance and open world below

In the first instance you see the streamers play, one of the forged, the ‘herald of balthazar’ has combat dialogue where she says “every life i claim is another conscript in Balthazar’s army!”

I also think somewhere she states somewhere Balthazar chose her, inclining she was human before, and you see Zaishen in the open world trying to recruit people to join him as well. Given all that I reckon we can predict the Forged are mercenaries, or just souls in constructs.

Certainly follow how Balthazar has built his army in the past since his original army, the Eternals, had always consisted of people who are dead rather than his own creations. The more he kills the more are sent into the mist where they become part of Balthazar’s army. Considering this the Eternal Army may not be gone but may currently remain in the Mist as his Forces to deal with threats from the Mist while the Forge maybe Eternals given Forge Bodies so they can have a Physical Form to remain in the world of the living.

Talking about the Mist where the dead go, and players can go to fight eternally sounded similar to the former realms of Balthazar. The Desert Borderland in WvW with its many pyramid bastions bear a very close similarity to the Balthazar apocalypse vision and Path OF Fire trailer’s ones.

I am calling it – the end of WvW is neigh… as we know it. J/K

Now if currently Balthazar has lost his former realm FOW and is looking for a new realm to rule then he might not only be going for the Crystal Desert but he might also go for the WvW Mist realms as well?

Further, Fractal of the Mist, Dessa Lab will get invaded by new characters. What is the relationship between Asura pyramid and the Crystal Desert pyramid if any?

In fact gliding, up draughts, and dust devils are like cliffs to roamers but with out causing the negativity to zergs that cliff does.

I not sure if it would be the majority of the populations concerned but if it were where the majority of the populations in tier 1 and tier 8 did not want server link then the 2 tiers should not be linked and should be left as is. By this mean 2 problems would be solve. One would be reducing queue times in stacked servers in tier 1, and two would be allowing tier 8 servers be accommodative to roamers.

Another solution could be EOTM as it was conceived to be an outlet for queue maps and Obsidian Sanctum for solo roamers but OS needed to be opened out to an out door feel and enlarged to be proper map.

Another solution could be part of PvP instead of being as a stand alone Esport could be inter grated into the PvE environment with a smooth game play transition. This is to accommodated the WvW roamers and solo players.

implementing no fly zones on DBL and gliding would be an interesting change.
Or a parachute, so you cant move horizontally any more than you can while falling currently on wvw maps.

I think it wasn’t done because it would stop “clifftop golf”.
Which is a double edged… club?

Imagine implementing gliding in EOTM with up draughts. The only anomaly would be alpine borderland in the sense that it has less gliding launch pads but this can be easily fix with dust devils on the grounds and up draughts up in mid air.

Desert Borderland is confusing. Getting lost and loosing ones direction and intentions in the middle of a campaign while leading an army as a commander is a no brainer. However if gliding is implemented in it, DBL would be made more straight forward with strategic and tactical game play more forth coming. Now as is, it has too many RNG chance and funnelling straight jacket.

HoT Vs EotN Expansions

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Avariz.8241

Soaring glide is HoT equivalence to EoTN’s heroic treks which is representative of GW1 heroic journeys. To get that feel, Hot has masteries and experience barriers. These are tangential abstracts unrelated to the soaring glide mechanic but nevertheless were gated as such. On the hand, heroic treks in EoTN and in GW1 heroic journeys, there are no abstract barriers. In the sense of character levels and gated abstractions. In EoTN and GW1 heroic treks and heroic journeys can be made starting from the lowest character levels. Success of these attempts are apparently dependent on the player’s skill and luck.

For example one memorable journey is the heroic trek from Ascalon City to Lion’s Arch when way points were not available. This is especially so for new characters at level 1. With out using way points this walk can take well over 12 hours irl and usually the norm is taking a day straight (edit: 24) for players.

Another exceptional epic heroic journey is the walk from Ascalon City to Droknar’s Forge by way of Snake Dance. This one take close to 48 hours, an 2 days straight adventure. Again the success of which is solely dependent on the players skills at fighting, trekking, and luck. Because of the instancing mechanic a lost meant being sent back to Ascalon City as the instancing meant no saving in between. Either you make it or you don’t in one long continuous around the clock instance.

I found the HoT equivalence to EoTN (GW1) is not comparable. Edit: I can walk from Silver Waste to Dragon’s Stand in under 6 or 7 hours.

However Revenant that was in Hot at the time of the patch still required 500 hero point to complete its elite specialization post patch.

OK we know Revenants can channel king Jalis as one of their Legends, but isn’t Jalis still alive in the depths of Tyria fighting destroyers? How can they channel someone that is still alive and not in the Mists?

At the end of ‘Eye of the North’, we, PC, heroes, and dwarfs (including King Jalis) completed our mission and killed the Great Destroyer. The last scene was where all of the above mentioned celebrated our success in the great hall high up in the Shiverpeak. That was 250 years ago.

As to the present in one of our person story or dungeon story, not sure which one, the dredge believed Oden Stonehealer is the last surviving dwarf, and they the dredge wanted to exact revenge on him because Oden is a dwarf. This is becasue the stone summit dwarfs had once long ago enslaved the dredge. However Oden himself was not a stone summit dwarf. In fact Oden on the side of King Jalis fought a civil war against the stone summit dwarfs.

Edit: If I am not mistaken, Oden being a hero of the PC took part in the instance where we exterminated all the last remaining stone summit dwarfs.

By using triangulation of the moon and it’s meridian line at 0:00 hours I roughly estimate approximately the southern Nebula at Frostgorge Sound hang over the undisclosed map zone north of Isenfall Lake in Snowden Drifts.

The second northern Nebula at Frostgorge Sound hang over the undisclosed map zone north of Woodland Cascades at the top of the map.

These 2 areas are close to last known appearances/activities of Primordus deep underground in the South and Jormag in the North.

P.S. I meant by the moon’s meridian line as being in longitude that run along Durmand Priory and Fort Trinity (roughly).

Make the Beta Slot a Permanent

For Pre Purchase sake to lessen hurt feelings expressed, I think making the Pre Purchase Beta slot permanent would greatly improve Anet standing among the community. Of cause after beta testing is over there will be no requirement for beta slots, and no beta slot would be packaged with the HOT sold after launch.

Just as an aside to all of the negative threads. I’m happy with my purchase. I got the $99 Ultimate pack. Loving my mini… and gems that I won’t buy an item and delete!

Anyone else happy?

I am happy with the expectation that the HOT expansion total map size would be greater that 50% of current GW2’s.

If my expectation were not fulfill then I would be a sad panda. Vertical size would be part of the equation.

Here is a little challange to all you fanboys/white knight and others

The BOB Exampel
Two people go into same shop to buy a bundle made out of 2 items, lets call the item BOB, Person 1 already have a BOB and person 2 dont.

Bundle contains: BOB and a expansion for BOB.

The Problem is when you leave the store, a store clerk come running after you and say to person 1: Sorry Sir, but i see that you already have BOB at home and takes your BOB away.

Both payed the same amount, How do you think person 1 feels now ?

Justify how person 1 gets same value for money as person 2

EDIT: BOB is everylasting, does not break or gets old

If GW2 become free to play most GW 1 veterans will leave. Free to play is RNG drops, Pay To Win, and very grindy. New players coming into the game has a Free To Play perspective or a monthly subscription. Rather than a Free To Play or a monthly subscription models, I prefer pay to play box set model so I for one am willing to pay $50 box set for the continuation of the game.

Appearance of New Nebulae In the Night Sky

2 nebulae in relation to 2 Elder Dragons in accordance to the eternal alchemy vision is still creditable. We know Jormag and Primodus are around Far Shiverpeaks with Jormag on the Shiverpeaks and with Primodus far below the Shiverpeaks. Therefore having 2 nebulae in that region of the Shiverpeaks still conform to the eternal alchemy vision with each elder dragon associated with a celestial orb/object.

Continuation of the above would lead to the hypothesis of a celestial orb/object above the Maguuma Jungle since Mordremoth it there. Another celestial orb/object should be above the Crystal Desert.

Last but not least I could expect the same phenomenon of a celestial orb/object over the deep ocean south of Orr/ west of Elona associated with ‘Bubble’, the deep sea dragon.

Edit: If Zhaitan were alive I could expect a celestial orb/object above Orr. Now that he is dead I am not too sure if the celestial orb/object is still drifting above Orr or as shown by the eternal alchemy vision the orb/object crashed into Tyria.

I checked in Frostgorge. Yep, definitely two stellar objects up there. I don’t know if they’re new. I map hopped my way to a lot of other zones. Sheesh, but Tyria is a cloudy place. Anything other than the moon was mostly obscured. In Queensdale near the monastery I was able to spot something that might be a nebula seen through thin clouds, or else was just a lower cloud. Nowhere else did I see hide nor hair of them besides Frostgorge. So they could have been there all along and you only just noticed them and thought they were new since in most maps you don’t see them.

Thanks for the screen shots. I did see 2 nebulae in a map. I can not recollect which map but the positions of the nebulae and the moon were extremely different from the screen shot of Frostgorge (Sound?). The one phenomena that I saw had one of the nebula on the other side of the night sky so you can not see it with the moon and the other nebula at the same time. So if the 2 nebulae and the moon do not move like a still picture then this would lead me to say we could have different systems of nebulae. That is definite. However if the nebulae have orbits that they go round like the moon does then I can not be certain if my observation and your screen shot are the same system or not in that they could have moved to a new arrangement as captured by your screen shot.

Which parts of the lore annoy or depress you?

~snip~

That’s not the same thing. The Silmarillion was written after the Hobbit to provide a background story. It explains the world of The Hobbit and LotR.

Furthermore, it’s hardly in the same novel form; it’s more like a series of short stories appended with maps, chronological data, a glossary, and family trees all included. It’s kind of like a mythic history book.

Also, Having GW2 set 250 years in the future wasn’t something that was in any way an inevitability. ANet purposely set it 250 years in the future(trivia: a nod to inventory stack limits) so that they could do all those futuristic steam-punk, magi-tech, laser-ship themes. In other words, since the GW1 ‘verse couldn’t realistically support all that stuff they simply advanced the clock so that it could. It’s really that simple.

And yes, old Bullroarer(I think) knocked off a goblin kings head with a wooden club to invent golf.

The Silmarillion was composed by the son of J.R.R. Tolkien using diverse notes taken from his late father. LOTR trilogy and the Hobbit were composed by J.R.R. Tolkien himself. Such a situation paralleled the issue involved quite well.

Appearance of New Nebulae In the Night Sky

I was startled this week by the new appearances of a number of nebulae in the tyrian night sky.

I have admire the tyrian night sky before in GW 1 and in GW 2. These beautiful scenes are comparable to real life.

However, this week during a night play through I noticed 2 large nebulae over the tyrian night matching in size and wonder as the tyrian moon.

I am sure these 2 nebulae were not there before. As this occasion co-insided with earth tremors in other maps of tyria, it got me thinking. Does these 2 nebulae represent an omen that other nebulae are appearing in other parts of Tyria.

In addition these nebulae resemble a sort of astroglobe as depicted in the Eternal Alchemy or the star-chart of the realms of torment. As the astroglobe (Eternal Alchemy) represented the rising of the Elder Dragons in relation with Tyria, could these natural tyrian cosmic phenomena preside the rising of the Elder Dragons?

In the real world nebulae are either star planetary formations or galaxies. In the case of galaxy nebulae, a massive black hole would be hiding at the center of the nebula cloud of dust. Black holes of cause are gate ways to unnatural dimension of physics.

Tyrian Etymology

in Lore

Posted by: Avariz.8241

Avariz.8241

Where did Tyrians get the word ‘dragon’ from? In our world, the term is nigh universal and almost infinite. The earliest use of the word is ancient greek, but even the Chinese and Norse had equivalents—all of the words: drakon, draco, etc, point to a large serpent. Theoretically, the origin of the word “dragon” in our world comes from the Biblical story of Satan.

Tyrian Humans have no such history to rely on. Yet the word ‘dragon’ is also universally accepted by every race in Tyria. No races ask, “what’s a dragon?” Where did the word come from?

In the old testament the serpent is the snake that tempted Eve. The four legged snake is not exactly a dragon. The closest dragon is the whale that swallowed Jona. So there is no dragon in the fullest sense of the word in the old testament.

In the new testament the clear cut closest reference to a possible dragon is the number of the beast and the 7 headed dragon in the apocalypse. The 7 headed dragon of the water is the closest imagery to Satan as referenced by Anet with Zhaitan.

The ancient greeks of cause had typhon. The writer of the apocalypse most likely fall back on his own earlier ancient tradition before the writing of the apocalypse to filled out the details of the apocalypse.

In conclusion Satan as manifested as the beast and the 7 headed dragon of the waters in the apocalypse on which Zhaitan is based is fully and mostly typhon of the ancient greek tradition as opposed to a hebrew tradition. This is because there is no dragon in the old testament.

The world of Tyria that we know now were created by the six human gods. This had happened while the Elder Dragons were asleep. Before this the world of Tyria were different and were regulated by the Elder Dragons. How different the world of Tyria were before the six human gods arrival and recreation no one knows. However an indication can be suggested by the six elder dragon orbs/realms in the Eternal Alchemy paralleled the six realms of torment in GW 1.

How big is the patch? My client is stuck at 99% at 910 MB. And from there it has now downloaded an additional 110 MB and is still continuing to download at 99%. So something is wrong 100 out of 1000 MB is not 1% for a start!

The patcher percentage is based on number of files, not the size of the download.

So if it has to patch 100 files and 99 of them are done, it’ll report 99% completed, even if all of those files are tiny and the last one is 500gb.

Well! This is highly irregular. This little patch has well passed the 1 GB of codes download. This has never happened before as far as I can recall.

Edit: the danger of it all is the client went playable in the middle of this extended download by all appearances.

[HoT Trailer] Could this be Sylvari ?

in Lore

Posted by: Avariz.8241

Avariz.8241

…..

My PC sylvari had an interview with the Pale Tree where she said the dream of dreams originated from beyond the Mist.

From this I infer that only perhaps somewhere in the Mists, is there some sort of vague representation of any creature’s “true form”, and this is why Mother Tree herself does not know, understand, or reveal her knowledge or understanding of all things, especially in relation to the Dragons (some things she can’t know or understand either). This may also be why Scarlet had the Aetherblades explore the Mists, and this opens up the question of what exactly did or will Mai Trin and/or Rytlock find in the Mists about the Elder Dragons?

…..

Now reconsidering my certainty about the sylvari dream of dreams from beyond the mist would exclude Mordremoth from sylvari creation myth. I thought this because I have mistakenly believed that elder dragons are only tyrian and could not have a mist origin. For example humans gods and humans were from beyond the mist.

You have made me recalled that the great alchemy with the elder dragon orbs matches very closely the realms of torment. The accepted lore is the realms of torments were part of the mist. Now if the great alchemy with the elder dragon orbs represented the realms of torment and the realms of torment were part of the mist then this would include the elder dragons as having a mist origin.

So the dream of dreams originating from beyond the mist would also include elder dragons as well.

On another subject matter, it is very strange that mordrem would have kidney, eyes, and other fauna parts which could be extracted by PC. One would expect mordrem being 100% plants would not have fauna internal organs and yet they have. This would make mordrem more fauna than just flora. This would indicate that Mordremoth have gain a fauna sphere beside that of his flora sphere!

Edit: coming round full circle, if great alchemy and elder dragon orbs represented the realms of tormant, and the realms of torment were part of the mist, and human and their gods were from the mist then one can assume human and their gods could originate from the mist that which could also include Tyria given that Tyria and the elder dragon orbs were realms of torment and part of the mist.

Is the speculation that realms of torment were part of the mist accurately sourced? Could this speculation be wrong?!

Alternatively, Faolain will be this great big Corrupted Boss we all fight alongside Caithe, ending with Faolain’s death and Caithe finally burying that skeleton that’s been rattling about in her closet all this time.

That sounded like a repeat of Twilight Arbor mid boss fight. There she can changed in to a giant man eating spider with a large mob of spiderlings. Errmm…if any thing her looks in that would indicate an Abaddon influence who also exhibited a spidery insect appearance all those ages ago.
